The Church is not commanded to keep the Sabbath. The command is specific to the LORD's covenant with Israel:

Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant. ( Exodus 31:16)

And remember that thou wast a servant in the land of Egypt, and that the LORD thy God brought thee out thence through a mighty hand and by a stretched out arm: therefore the LORD thy God commanded thee to keep the sabbath day. ( Deuteronomy 5:15)

Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ. ( Colossians 2:16-17)

    Good day brother Dan,

I also believe following the Ten Commandments is something the Lord wants us all to do. As really when you become Blessed with the Holy Ghost they are a pretty simple line to follow. Some believe in a slightly different way. Which is fine as them knowing that staying away from sin or "lusts of the flesh" is key which in itself is the same thing. Now being in Christ it does get more broad than just the Ten Commandments. Which I've stated is a good simple outline of our duties. Sadly some believe they cannot sin anymore. Which I won't get into that but it really is sorrowful. Striving to follow Jesus Christ, the best we can, shows God what's really in our hearts. Knowing even if we slip up to stay meek and confess to the Lord. Praying for His never ending Mercy, it shall be ours. He shall direct our paths.

Keeping everyday Holy is wonderful. Love one another my brothers and sisters!

Stay producing delightful fruit for the Lord. God Bless you brother.

Please pray for my son Michael. He is a Christian but quite carnal in his activities. He professes Jesus but has problems with alcohol and legal pharmaceuticals over the counter. His friends are also carnal and some profess to be Christians but are not following Jesus totally. I am asking Jesus our Lord for a miracle in his life that would change him dramatically so he can live a happy life in our Father, God.. His desires for an ex-girl friend have been very destructive to him and he keeps dreaming that one day he could be smart enough and educated enough for her to accept him. So he decides to gain worldly knowledge instead of putting that time that he spends, into walking as the Lord Jesus would want him to walk by the Word of God... I pray that God would bring true Spirit-filled Christians into his life and a special one the could help him along the true path of Jesus. Thank-you for your prayers, brothers and sisters in Jesus!

I've been going to church for almost 3 years now, but still haven't been baptised !!! I feel like I have overcome some sins (By the grace of God) but still struggling with others. Is this normal ??? I'm not even sure if I am saved, because TWO pastors from two DIFFERENT churches BOTH said that I don't need to be baptised to be saved, but from what I have read in the KJV bible, MOST if not ALL the scriptures say repent AND be BAPTISED ??? BOTH pastors have said that I just have to repent and ask JESUS in to my heart, and if we believe, we receive !!! (But that just sounds like it's from the pits of hell to me !!!) BOTH pastors say that I'm taking the scriptures TOO literally, yet NONE of the things that we pray about to my knowledge get answered, Like people being healed from sickness or for people's salvation. I've even started questioning whether I am a REAL Christian or not ??? To my knowledge, I don't know ANYNONE from church that have managed to lead ANYONE to CHRIST, yet I know that most, have witnessed to people. I'm not even sure if I'm doing things right or if any of my prayers are being answered or whether I'm just doing it all in vain ??? Please can you pray for my salvation and ask GOD to help me to stop sinning, because I have mentioned this to BOTH pastors in the past and not really felt any reassurance from any of them. I also disagree with a lot of their doctrine and feel restless during the services and feel like a hypocrite for keep going to their church, yet I know that the devil is subtle and possibly trying to separate me from other Christians because nobody else around me are Christians other then the people at church. I also dreamt that I was in a church and the pastor was Mark Strong (An actor) Not sure whether GOD is trying to tell me something or whether Satan is trying to deceive me ??? Thank you in advanced and |Father God, I pray that you bless everyone that uses this site. In Jesus name I pray. Amen :)

Mishael, may the Spirit grace us with his words, you quoted Isaiah 14:11-16. Verse 16 says: They that see thee (king of Babylon) shall narrowly look upon thee (king of Babylon), and consider thee (king of Babylon), saying is this the MAN (king of Babylon) that made the earth to tremble, and that did shake kingdoms. The whole chapter is about the king of Babylon. Ezekiel 28 is talking about the king of Tyrus, Ezekiel 28:12. Satan was a liar and murder from the beginning, no perfection there. The third that fall in Revelation 12:4 is the same third in Zachariah 13:9 and the same third in Ezekiel 5:1-4 and the same third in Revelation 8:7-12. These prophesies are about fire saving mankind not torturing mankind.

The bible mentions weddings, but does not give scripture on the way they are to be performed. If it were mentioned then the world would be bound to that method. God establishes governments for his purpose; Ezra 7:25, Titus 3:1. Each government has determined what a marriage ceremony consists of, dealing with each locations laws and customs. As far as I know marriages in one country is recognized by all countries (someone with more knowledge than I might be able to comment on that in depth). The parable of the rich ruler who gave a wedding for his son, mentions a proper wedding garment but does not identify what it is. This parable is more concerned with Christ than earthly weddings but could be applicable. Your question, indicates to me, that you are concerned about a previous marriage and your purity because of it. If your previous husband has died then you are able to remarry Rom 7:2, 1 Cor 7:2-3. If the husband is still living I do not believe that the scripture allows remarriage 1 Cor 7:11.

In the quietness of the morning time. No one up yet to enjoy another new day. In these times of unknown happenings--The middle of the Revelation's comes to me. God is close to those who are close to Him. He is there for those that want Him. Sadness around. People walk as they do not understand how and why this is happening. God warned us. He wrote in His words to help us know what to do. But not many understood. Because of Greed and self, they became part of Satan's darkness. Unless you cry out for forgiveness thru His Son's blood He suffered for us-- to be able to walk to the throne of the almighty-- all will be lost. Get on your knees now to ask Him to guide you in these times. No day is promised any more. I now Pray for all that read this to understand...you have to make a stand now. Ask for Strength... Protection...Love of His Light to carry you to the end of times.......Be there for the needy...Be there for the helpless....as Jesus is there for us...

    Sister Kathryn,

    Happy Sabbath!

Yes, I believe with all my heart we are to keep God's 10 commandments.

    John 14:15

"If ye love me, keep my commandments."

    1 John 2:4

"He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him."

    Revelation 22:14

"Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city."

    God Bless.

    Dear Brother Richard in Christ,

    Happy Sabbath!

Yes, the sabbath was made for man, and it truly is a wonderful gift from God. Yes we can do good on this day.

Jesus showed us all of the wonderful things that could be performed on this special day! The scribes and Pharisees were always looking for ways to trip Jesus up with the Sabbath.

    Luke 6:9-10

"Then said Jesus unto them, I will ask you one thing; Is it lawful on the sabbath days to do good, or to do evil? to save life, or to destroy it?" 10. And looking round about upon them all, he said unto the man, Stretch forth thy hand. And he did so: and his hand was restored whole as the other.

We can justify many things on the sabbath....but, ignore the sabbath, God forbid!

    Apostle Paul below:

    Romans 3:31

"Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law."

    God Bless.

    Brother Chris,

Happy Sabbath! Today is the sabbath of our Lord, and I'm very blessed, not only today... but everyday in our Lord Jesus Christ!

Regarding the Seventh Day Baptists, I'm happy to share this or any other information, with you and other Christians here. We are hopefully here to help each other, and fellowship.

I'm continually learning as I study the Bible scriptures. As with all Christians, it is my hope to receive the ultimate gift of eternal life. Yes, I agree with you, it is beneficial to get different viewpoints on important bible topics including the sabbath.

    Revelation 22:14

"Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city."

    God Bless.

The Bible doesn't give us any more details about Theophilus, the recipient of Luke's two 'manuscripts' ( Luke 1:3 & Acts 1:1). There have been speculations about this man, so I'll share here what I've researched about him:

    a. he may have been a Jew from Alexandria, Egypt, to which John Wesley also attests.

    b. a Roman official; because of the use of "O Theophilus" & "most excellent Theophilus", denoting someone of high rank in the Empire.

    c. just an honorary title, since Theophilus (Theophilos) means "friend of God", so Luke wrote generally to all who came under that category. I can't subscribe to this, as it appears to me that Luke was addressing a particular person rather than anyone.

    d. Paul's lawyer, since some of his expressions are used in law. Words such as 'eye witnesses, account & infallible proofs' are given in support.

    e. the High Priest of the Temple at that time, Theophilus ben Ananus, also brother-in-law to Caiaphas - no doubt a handy connection to have.

So take your pick! Best to leave him just as a name & focus on the important accounts that Luke gives us to learn from.

What exactly Does the Bible actually tell us about weddings? Why can't u wear white to my wedding to a second husband? I've found nothing to support a "white" wedding purity blah blah blah statement IN the Bible! Only in a church full of "Christians" would anyone be shunned for wearing white!

Brother Dan. Just further to my comment as you truly piqued my interest in the Seventh Day Baptists. I took time to listen to a video from a Pastor from one of those Churches (in the U.S.), speaking on this subject of observing the Sabbath. And of course, he shared verbatim to what others on this Site have also written, so I assume that the support of Sabbath-keeping generally is based on that understanding from the Word.

However, no mention was made by him about the aspect of the Old Covenant against the New Covenant brought in by Jesus Christ. Maybe he saw no relevance in that, but I believe, with a full & proper understanding of it, one should get a better understanding of how God looks at us & what He requires of us as those now gifted with His Spirit as opposed to those who were required to adhere to the Law & implications. I'm not wanting to raise this subject again as it has been brought up many times already, but to share that a balanced message or exposition, would be most needful to those seeking understanding.

Love the way God uses nature to exalt Himself. I have always liked it when the teacher uses examples when they teach! How interesting , you explain a good example of being born again, only without the womb of a Mother. This time being buried in Christs death and risen again through the baptism of His life! A true metamorphosis, converting spiritual death into eternal life found in Christ!

Understanding our relationship to God seems impossible when we consider the omniscience of the almighty! With this in mind ,we hear Christ words "abide in me", this reason, for the sin that separates us, keeps us from Him! Sin is baggage , a detour before and behind us, moving us in directions that are outside His will for us! Like nature from the day we are born, we are dying all the time! "Heaven and earth shall pass away, my words shall remain forever." Seasons change, but return renewed again, only to start their work again. Christ tells us to abide in His vine, bringing forth fruit. That without Him we will be gathered as dead branches and thrown into the fire. This fruit he speaks of is His righteousness, given to us through faith found perfect in His nature! If we are to grow and enter into his kingdom, we cannot see the kingdom, or hear it without Him! When you except Him and start living in Him, you will see what he has in store for you! Eternal life! A kingdom without end! Given to us, because of His love for the world! ( John 3:16.)

My best study times are done with the Holy Spirit. He always has time for us. I read out loud and ask questions. When He reveals the answer, it's like I hear His voice in my chest or next to my right ear.

I have to turn off the media. I hear him better sitting in the floor. Sometimes He sings a song that I know and it gives me tears of joy, really. I try to sing back and sound not so much like a frog. I'm glad there will be big choirs so I can croak with power. :)

If we work on our relationship with Him, he will help us with our other relationships. I went through a couple of years forgiving others, forgiving myself often. He had to help me untangle the webs we weave in self deception.

If we will read His Word slowly and read all the center of each page reference columns (that match the tiny alphabet letters); you will be amazed at how so it opens up the total picture of what you are studying. I call it "seek and you will find", studying. I take a ton of notes; and date anything the Holy Spirit speaks.

Next week I'll be in the Prayer Request room, 'cause people get sad during holidays. Maybe this year we can forsake Halloween and celebrate the LORD of the Harvest?? Well I haven't done Halloween for 36 years. It doesn't compute in my heart.

Wonder how fast Chick Tracts can send a bunch of tracts on "what Halloween is?" (The little comic like Bible Tracts all the children love to get :). All my neighbors are ancient like me lol. I can ring their doorbell and give them a comic book tract. Sounds fun.

Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.

2By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.

3For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

4For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

6This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.

7For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

8And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.

9If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son.

10He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.

11And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

12He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

13These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

14And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:

15And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

16If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin no
