As Christians we receive either praise or chastisement from our Father God. I have come to appreciate both

Chastisement helps me keep my feet firmly planted on Holy Ground in Jesus's Presence Praise tells me that Jesus is pleased that I am grounded where He has planted me.

Just an interesting bit of research. Hebrew documents hidden in Israel including a lineage of Jesus Christ, Yeshua HaMashiach, shows that the particular Joseph, listed as Mary's Husband Here. was actually her Father also called Joseph thus satisfying the 14 generations count as Mary is then counted as the next generation before Jesus. The specific Hebrew word for husband was not used although it was possible to translate that way but the general word for her male people/father was. Hope this blesses anyone getting caught up in the lineages, But as we are told in Scripture not to get bogged down in endless genealogies.
  • God Barricades the Tree of Life on Mark 2 - 5 years ago
22 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of US (the Godhead) to know good and evil (from eating of the Tree of the knowledge of good and evil)

and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever: (God barricades access to the Tree of Life)

23 Therefore the LORD God sent him (Adam) forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.

24 So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.

Note: the next time you see the Tree of Life mentioned, is in the Book of Revelation; where it was moved to Heaven.

Well, some may offer comment that the Bible does state this, but really, there is no direct command for women not to 'paint up'. Rather, it was well known in the olden days (& even now), that 'ladies of the night' were the ones who usually beautified themselves so as to attract customers.

So, with that in mind, including other enhancements to the face, hair, clothing, etc., the warning went out by apostle Paul to Timothy in 1 Tim 2:9, 10: "women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array. But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works."

And Peter said in 1 Pet 3:3, 4: "Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel. But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price."

I think that it has to be a personal understanding & conviction as to what to do in this regard, as it would be sin & vanity for any other reason other than to enhance one's appearance yet maintaining the demeanour of a woman practising godliness in both appearance & what she may inadvertently convey to men.
  • God made coats of skins From Commentary on Mark 2 - 5 years ago
    Wesley's Notes for Genesis 3:21

3:21 These coats of skin had a significancy. The beasts whose skins they were, must be slain; slain before their (Adam & Eve) eyes to shew them what death is. And probably 'tis supposed they were slain for sacrifice, to typify the great sacrifice which in the latter end of the world should be offered once for all. Thus the first thing that died was a sacrifice, or Christ in a figure.

Helen, if you look at that encounter that Jesus had with Nicodemus, Nicodemus had just asked Jesus how someone could be physically born again a second time. He asked this because the spiritual truth that Jesus told him in v 3, that a man cannot see the Kingdom of God unless he is born again, was confusing to him. So Jesus explained this to him in verse 5: "unless a man be born of water (referring to that physical birth that Nicodemus was thinking of) & of the Spirit (referring to that spiritual birth that Jesus was speaking about), that man cannot enter God's Kingdom. In other words, it's my sense that if Nicodemus hadn't brought up the question of the impossibility of a person to be physically born twice into the world, then Jesus probably would not have referred to the necessity of a person being born physically (of water). The "water" we understand can refer also to the amniotic fluid being released in 'physical' birth.

So, you & I need not fear about the words in verse 5 - they were only for Nicodemus (& any of us now) who might think that to be "born of water" meant something else or an added requirement to spiritual birth. No - spiritual birth is only by faith in Christ's work at the Cross & nothing else. If there was something else required, then salvation does not come by faith, and that's not the Gospel message.

Is that your favourite verse? I wouldn't consider it wrong to show someone John 6:66 but if that person should enquire about it's significance, maybe you could point him to Revelation chapter 13 & alert him to the coming time when the Anti-Christ will demand worship of him & all who do so are rejecting God & will suffer the Wrath of God ( Revelation 14:9-11). It could be a good lead in for presenting the Gospel.

Hi Anna, I understand your concern for your granddaughter getting frequent illnesses & being away from home. Legally, she is within her right to do what she decides, but as her grandmother, you certainly can lovingly speak/write to her about your concerns. A vegan diet is not necessarily a bad diet but if she has underlying health problems/allergies, then she really needs to see a doctor & dietitian who would help her to get her bodily functions back to normal. I don't know if she is willing to do this, rather seeing your suggestions as meddling in her affairs. Does she have other family members or friends who could counsel her & give extra support to what you have said to her? Are you too from Queensland or are you living in another State? Is there anyone there who can help her when she returns after her work on the boat?

As I said, legally you can't do much except what I've suggested above. Yet, as in any situation we find ourselves or our loved ones in where there seems no way forward, we have to be cast on the Lord God to help & intervene. Continue to pray for her, commit her safekeeping to the Lord, pray for her health, her safety & her senses, that she will consider her health & the concern she is bringing onto you & others.

Aside from God's Wrath to come, we also have the 'mystery' that Paul speaks about. A Mystery in the Bible is a Truth that has not clearly been revealed beforehand. 1 Cor 15:51: the resurrection of the dead & ascension of the living. Col 1:26, 27: Christ abiding in the believer, which specifically is by His Spirit. Rom 11:25: spiritual blindness of Israel until the appointed number of Gentiles are saved. Eph 1:9, 10: both Jew & Gentile will be one in Christ. So the Rapture of the Church wasn't revealed before in its fullness (& it didn't need to be), but alluded to by Jesus ( Jn 14:1-3) & now by Paul.

1 Thes 5:1-10 speaks of the suddenness of Christ's Return (just after Paul spoke in chapter 4 on the Rapture) & therefore our readiness to meet Him. And a further reminder that God hasn't appointed the righteous to wrath (His Anger) but to obtain salvation through His Son. If the Rapture was to take place after the Tribulation, there wouldn't be much need for our readiness & its suddenness, as that could be easily calculated. For us to be ever ready is the impetus for believers to live holy lives & be in a state of readiness. To use your example of warfare: a soldier on the battlefield doesn't slip into his pyjamas & turn on soft music to lull himself to sleep, but is fully clothed in battle dress with his weapon at his side to be ready at the first warning or alarm of trouble.

And reference to Revelation 12, I am unable to share with all clarity & conviction on this portion. I realize that there are several interpretations about the woman & child & their place in the revelation to John, but knowing that this Book is filled with much imagery & not always with a progressive timeline, I wouldn't feel comfortable sharing anything conclusive & leading you or anyone down the wrong path. I think you'll understand.

Thanks for your thoughts Spike, they're appreciated & no bother at all with your questions. I've looked at what you've shared with Richard as well & something I can identify with, i.e. how people can look at the same Scripture & come up with different interpretations resulting sometimes in different applications. Unless, there is someone at the top leading the group & its branches (e.g. the cults, Exclusive Brethren), who promulgates how Scriptures are to be understood, then we have this 'diversity' of interpretations amongst believers. But with any exegesis of the Word whether from one skilled or not, the hearer has to resort back to the Word himself & determine with the Spirit's help & light being given, whether what is shared is supported in the Bible: Acts 17:10, 11.

And so to with the Rapture of the Church as another teaching that has a wide range of understanding. Each proponent of a particular belief can usually support his position quite well from Scripture, hence this debate that goes on perpetually. I hold to the pre-tribulation Rapture of the Church, as I have often presented my case in other discussions here, & from what you have stated now, I see that this is your understanding also. It is clear to me, that whenever God moves His Arm against wickedness, He does so by first moving or removing the righteous. Why would God want to punish or destroy the righteous along with the unrighteous? We have already been judged for our sins at the Cross & now declared righteous only through His Son. Is a further judgement warranted or even supported in Scripture? You've quoted this 'moving' of Lot & his family from Sodom; you also have the 'removal' of Noah & his family from the dry Earth. And it will also be for the righteous on the Earth, that salvation from God's Anger will also come to us that which will be poured upon the unbelieving.

I have the following prayer requests:

    1. That the Lord would bring a Christian, Bible believing man into my

life. I have been single for over 30 years now after a divorce. I would now like to share my life with someone who

believes in the name of our Lord and Savior, Yeshua.

    2. That I will take a genuine interest in studying the Word of God "The Bible" and do it on a regular basis. I tend to study it for a while then I go long periods of time without studying.

    3. Prayer request is for my brother U. Sidney who struggles with alcoholism and cigarettes smoking addiction. He will not go to the doctor and have himself checked. I can tell that he has either COPD or Emphysema. He is a christian but he struggles with letting go of the vices mentioned above.

    4. Prayer for my daughter Leah who's procrastinating in completing college and has now been attending for six years and still no degree.

Thank you so much for your prayers.

Why are we tearing through Adam and Eve, every single day????

    Yes there are 2 Enochs.

Cains Enoch was born to Cain. That side of Geneology ended before the flood.

Seths , Enoch was born on Seths side. His Enoch ancestor is the one that God took to heaven. His ancestor was Noah. That family line ALL survived the flood.

Cains family tree ends before the flood.

    >Actually Google the Ancestry of Adam and look at the Charts.

We all bear the burden of our judgments that we make about Gods creation.

    ie: Eve slept with Satan

I will not comment on this No More. Go read comments on it, in the past history pages: 1-100 and beyond.

Hello Jackie, Do you mean Adam & Eve? If, so they were never saved. They physically died as sinners and they were spiritually dead, out of favor with God, all the days of their lives. God chose the people that He wanted to communicate with in those times.

No, they, A&E did not eat from the Tree of Life. No one got to eat from the Tree of Life until they passed thru the cross, meaning until they believed Jesus died for their sins and the sins of all mankind.

For ex: I know that no one is a sinner unless they have been taught to believe that is what they are.

1John 3:4-9 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him. Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

Have a great day, Joy to You. Lynn :)

Enoch was born through Cains history. He walked with God; one day God must've said, you come home with Me today. Enoch did not die. That's why people think he will be one of the Two Witnesses.

    True and False.

There was an Enoch in Cain's Genealogy, yes, and there was an Enoch in Seth's Genealogy. They're were two different Enoch's. You'll notice how close Cain's genealogy matches up with Adam's Genealogy. This is done deceive to and is symbolic of not following the wrong line....

You'll notice Cain's bloodline in chapter 4. Many of Cain's offspring end in "Bal" Where else do we see Baal in the bible??

Which brings me back to the subject. The original poster ask if Cain was the offspring of Satan, not Adam. Since Cain is not in Adam's Genealogy, I would agree with his pastor's interpretation.

There's more scriptures on after the flood event. The demons actually rail on Satan for their loss. I may not have that til Saturday, because I have to take someone to the hospital; be their driver.

You can search 'inhabitants' and find some of them: the ones that are mentioned with satan.
