The men were probably huddled around a campfire to keep warm. Anyone who camps out under the stars knows that. Let's not fix this scripture to an issue of homosexuality, ok?

Grinding: they were grinding grain into a flour to bake with. You can easily say 2 women are standing side by side. The believer in Jesus will be caught up in the clouds; the unbeliever will not.

We read the Bible every day so our minds can be renewed on the Holiness and Purity of Jesus: who is the Word of God, in the flesh.

This website has a Commentary that is accessed through the blank Search Box.

I go there often to read what it says.

You can read Commentaries through GOOGLE also.

It will be easier for you to Google this question. As you guessed it's a tedious answer; because people are involved.

I'm here to view and make comment on scripture. I enjoy it. It's not a job.

Back on the red Link Page, there are some explanation of the KJV Bible.

No. John ate the bug. I ate snails in France. Taste like chicken, but a little chewy.

    Hello Jackie,

Here is the section from the book of John where Jesus ended up staying with the Samaritans for 2 days after speaking with the woman at the well..

John 4:39 And many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him for the saying of the woman, which testified, He told me all that ever I did.

4:40 So when the Samaritans were come unto him, they besought him that he would tarry with them: and he abode there two days.

    4:41 And many more believed because of his own word;

4:42 And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.

4:43 Now after two days he departed thence, and went into Galilee.

I was mainly curious to see if others had seen this story of these Samaritans believing on the Lord Jesus Christ prior to his death and resurrection and prior to anyone believing it was not yet time for the Gentiles to receive the message...

I had an email saying Jackie had responded to my question with this response...

"They preach the Kingdom of God to the Jews 1st And they've rejected it And after that Samaritan's and the gentiles were invited in"

However, for some reason, I am not able to bring up the response...

The reason I asked the question was to see if anyone knew the real story that began with the woman at the well and how Jesus ended up going and staying with the Samaritans for 2 days and they all ended up believing on him as the Christ, the Messiah... so there was no need for the disciples to go to Samaria for they all knew who the Christ was...The thing is, this was all prior to Jesus's death and resurrection, even though we do know that he had said originally he was sent only unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel...I have never talked with anyone that seems to know this story about the Samaritans, that was a continuation of the story of the woman at the well... :)

Does anyone else worry about the United States as a country?

I don't wish to be negative, because just like Phil 4:8 says we should be positive. But I think we should also keep our eyes open, be on guard, and wear the armor of God. Matthew 25:13. The Bible talks about the rampant evil of Sodom and Gomorrah and the violence, the lust, the unnatural sexual relations, and probably any sin imaginable being committed 24/7. And when I think of the US I see the same thing occurring. The trend is the mainstream culture embracing the same evil. Anything and everything evil is deemed 'good' to them and 'progressive' and 'empowering'. We are now seeing open terrorism and violence in many of our cities which is allowed by the corrupt mayors. We see DAs bought out by donors and told to release all criminals. We have states releasing much of their criminals from prison back into our neighborhoods to commit more oppression on innocents. We see open rejecting of God and Christianity, even persecuting Christians in public. We see open homosexuality and giving them special privileges beyond anyone else. We see false gods being elevated that part of culture seems to worship. We see media pushing propaganda and lies to deceive people into falsely assuming things and hating each other. We see people preferring lies over truth and disagreeing on what reality even is just like Romans 1:25.

Where will it end? Is God preparing to severely punish the country for its evil? Will it tear itself apart and fall just like other big countries in the past? Is this a sign of the end times?

Do you know why Jesus told his disciples to not go into any city of the Samaritans?
  • Spike4187 - In Reply on Jonah 4 - 5 years ago
Apparently Jonah did not want to even warn the people of Ninevah. He wanted them to be destroyed. Perhaps they were doing things so detestable, so disgusting and revolting when the Lord told him to go preach to them he went the other way. You know the story, Jonah did preach to the people and from the King on down they believed and repented and the Lord withheld his judgment. Jonah on the other had was angry, because he wanted them to die. You see the Lords response to Jonah's attitude. This should give all people hope, our Lord loves mankind and is rich in mercy, we all have a chance. If we repent and believe.

Back in the day when you could not go to the grocery store to get your cereal people made their own flour by grinding the grains into flour. Two women grinding together is what that verse is referring to. The two men in bed, back in the day and most third world countries there is one room where people sleep. Very common for families to be sleeping in one large bedded area. Hence to men in bed together.

If I could interject something. The reason why certain books were left out for instance: the new Testament. The only scripture allowed was letters written by people who actually walked with Christ such as the disciples. Paul is the exception because he was the one converted by Christ himself. Paul also saw heaven although he was too humble to even discuss what he saw, or brag about it. Not like people today who claim they have been there and write books and go on speaking tours. If they could not actually confirm the period it was written, or that this person actually was with Jesus, they did not allow it to become part of the "Canon" This way, the Bible would be kept pure from false doctrine. Interesting to note, Paul's writings actually make up about half of the New Testament.

By reading these prayers on this site my heart goes out to so many people, they just have so many serious problems I do not see how they deal with it and I would give anything if I could help everyone and make there lives better because you know what I have problems but nothing like so many on here have, serious problems! I would like for all of us to pray for all these people and pray there lives will change for the better. I would like to try my best to try to stop worrying about my problems and pray for them that God will help them through it all. When I read them it breaks my heart and mine are nothing like there's are! I am going to pray for them when I pray and I am going to say a little something every day about how it is going or how I feel about it that day. We all need to love each other and pray for the people with so many serious problems. Thank you and love you all!! Only through our Father can we help! Amen

That is a different question then. You would need to research the origins of the Bible and the Bible canon. Even biased wikipedia articles can shed light on this and give a general overview. You then asked why books were 'left out'. The question could be phrased as why Catholics added books. You could also research the dead sea scrolls. Also research the apocrypha. Link

to chris,(2 months ago) in reply to Matthew 11:28 thank you, one of the most clearer explanations I have heard, especially with the reinforcement of St Pauls which makes it even more clear and so beautifully reinforces the true message of Jesus. For all of you and for those of us who still are looking for the answers: Jesus's message in Matthew 11:28 is the answer.

Looks like you're talking about Luke 17:34-35. This is Jesus talking about an event many call the rapture where people are taken away- possibly to paradise or to maybe be judged first. I personally do not know how this coincides with Jesus meeting His followers in the air 1 Thessalonians 4:17. I don't believe the end times events is a salvation issue so I don't have a particular opinion on it. As for the women grinding, I think these are women working in a mill. As for the men, I think they were sleeping in a bed. I don't believe this implies any kind of homosexuality as it's not uncommon for people to stay in people's houses and share a bed or whatever limited resources they had.

Fasting actually has many health benefits. Your body will enter into ketosis that will in a way purify your body and rid it of toxins and will also burn away fat. It also sharpens the mind. People forget this when they're used to having food in their stomach all the time, but when you go without for a couple days you will find extra mental clarity and sharpness. Conventional wisdom only a decade or more ago claimed the opposite, but experts have recently realized the many benefits.

I think all KJVs in print and on the web today had a big revision in 1769 and a minor one around 1900s. People ask why and what the rationale was and there are books on that you can buy for every single letter, hyphen, punctuation, capitalization change. It didn't change the translation or meaning of course, but needed change to keep up with changing English language as it changed substantially from 1611 to present.

I ask for you to join with me in praying for my marriage. My wife has been in pursuit of another man for about a year and is going to pick up his daughter to get their nails done. She is trying to trick him into being with her claiming she is single. She has an online dating profile. I am praying for reconciliation, restoration, protection of our marriage, forgiveness and healing: Matthew 19:16, Hebrews 13:14, Colossians 3:13, Ephesians 4:31-32, Psalm 147:3, 1 Peter 3:8, Psalm 19:14, Psalm 18:30, Romans 12:10

It says fret not 3 or more times. Vengeance belongs to the Lord.

If you read the whole Psalm (and I know you did); it says that the Lord will deal personally with the wicked. We don't have to do a thing, except make a mention in our prayers and thank the Lord for His intervention.

Both of you missed the first part of the question. Why does the King James Bible (or whatever you choose to call it) consist of the books therein? Why were the 4 books of the Maccabees left out? Or all of the books of the Catholic Bible left out of the Protestant Bible? This is what I meant by different versions.

I really enjoy hearing the readers of the kjv ,their interpretation of The holy Spirit. insightful! Glory to God! May His kingdom grow according too His will!
