Joshua, in your reply on mathew 26. Respectfully your wrong. heres scripture to back it up. You stated above that If we continue our old practice - our dead in our sins way of living AFTER we become saved, we were never saved/born again to begin with( Hebrews 10:26, Hebrews 10:38-39, 1 John 2:15, 2 Peter 2:20-22). My scripture to back it up mathew 18:12. talks about the lost sheep.... i was saved before and wandered away. i am currently PURGING sin out of my life as you ARE CORRECT when you state that you dont continue in your sinful ways once you become a new creature... i just wanted to point out though that just because someone has gone astray and dead in sins and trespasses it DOES NOT mean that they werent already saved to begin with. Respectfully, stephen

Hello brother. I know your reply was to Chris and I'm sure he'll give you insight.

For someone to say "you are not saved if you don't speak in tongues" is sad. 1 Corinthians 12:1-31 explains.

1 Corinthians 13:1-13 explains the excellence of Love.

    Matthew 12

    43

When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.

    44

Then he saith, I will return into my house (your body) from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it EMPTY, swept, and garnished.

    45

Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.

    Ephesians 6

If we do not fill our spiritual house, with the Bible; we will have spiritual warfare. Which as you see in Eph. 6, "they" are invisible. They don't want to wander around without bodies. The unsaved, the wicked or the unlearned of the wisdom of the Bible, can be attacked.

"They are identified by their Fruit: hindering, harassing, sicknesses, depression, violence, sexual impurities, cursing, occult fascinations, hatred of Jesus, or antichrist spirits.

We must be filled with the Holy Spirit. You must rely on the victory of Jesus over the devil. We must understand the power of Jesus's Blood atonement for sin.

Sometimes I wonder why we argue about what day is Sabbath on; Who killed Cain; which Bible Version to read....

We need to be learning what our Authority in Jesus Name is. Authority of the believer over demonic beings; how to bind them and cast them out. How to pray for the sick and those oppressed by Satan and his agents of suffering. How to keep our families covered in prayer.

Take a good look at the madness of the world we're living in. Do you see the fruits now?

    1 Peter 5:8

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

The words of the Lord are pure - Without the least mixture of falsehood, and therefore shall be infallibly fulfilled. Men often speak rashly, and promise what they cannot perform, and deceitfully, what they never intend to perform. But God's words are different; they are pure from all manner of dross; from all folly, or fraud, or uncertainty. "Often have they been put to the test, in the trials of the faithful, like silver committed to the furnace in an earthen crucible; but, like silver in its most refined and exalted purity, found to contain no dross. The words of God are holy in his precepts, just in his laws, gracious in his promises, significant in his institutions, true in his narrations, and infallible in his predictions. What are thousands of gold and silver, compared to the treasures of the sacred page.
  • FASTING - In Reply on Matthew 16:23 - 5 years ago
Fasting doesn't necessarily mean from food.

Diabetics should take their meds and eat small meals.

You can declare a fast before the Lord; and turn off all media for a week. Emergency calls only. Spend the week reading the Bible, praying, and listening to spiritual music. It's harder than it reads.

Fast from the world and the system of the world; And feast on the Scriptures.

Susan lucarelli, The bread and wine in church are symbolic.... to Discern the LORDS body goes waaaay deaper than communion in the church.... This speaks of what "FOOD" we take into our body. im not talking about actual edible substance here like eggs or cheese in an overall sense. even though in the old testament there are plenty of warnings of what to eat and what not to eat.... im talking about the spiritual food we ingest. For we cannot serve both GOD and mammon. Also im NOT trying to be impolite but your second comment you made is incorrect thinking ( i speak this as one whom had the same type of thinking for over 25 years now). Paul speaks of this: When someone has been done wrong they JUSTIFY their own behavior (not saying you are, but i did, and i encourage you if you are not to let that hinder you on the BAD stuff you have been through. ) Dont let it change your choices in life. perfect example for myself is this: My friend Chris smoked pot in front of me today even though i was trying to quit, I said if he is gonna smoke it in front of me then i might as well smoke it myself (self justification). That is how i was for many many years. I also suffered from deppression and anxiety so i understand how you feel. I only ask you for you to take into consideration my words and if you want me to backup the scripture paul speaks of id be glad to search for it for you. Steve

James 5:14, 15 MERLENE this comment is for you. REFERENCE kjv study bible. James 5:14 at the bottom of the study bible in the explanation there are a few references. One of the old testament names of GOD is yahweh-rapha meaning "The Lord That Heals You; ex.15:26 God heals by preserving health Deut8:4 , Advising good nutritional habits and a good lifestyle(ex: 15:26, Leviticus 11,12-14. Through the application of medical treatment Leviticus 5:14. Forgiveness of disease causing sin(num:12:13). and the prayer of faith 5:15(numbers) Some diseases experienced by christians today could be prevented by trusting GOD as Yahweh-Rapha, and allowing him to deal with those things in their lives causing stress anger and worry. (first reference: ex 15:26, James 5:14-16, Math 19:14) There is a reference in one of the old testament passages to a certain type of oil, one of the passages i listed. ... however i recently came upon this information looking for healing myself. i can tell you its very detailed in the kjv study bible in the descriptions at the bottom and it has helped me to find more information. The study bible and the description at the bottom has helped me to learn way more. I hope this helps. also id like you to know that some of what you see in the old testament scriptures i quoted dosnt or wont neccessarily apply to you as the situation is different from me to your ordeal i believe. however the information is there and was helpful to me. Most people think the OLD testament is NO MORE since Christ died on the cross. They are mistaken. God didnt come to abolish the laws of moses. only the partition between the jews and gentiles. Hope this helps.

ED, you notice how Stanjett put edible. the exact verse is genesis 1:29. It says THE GIVING OF FOOD..... i know pot is made in edibles now, My advice is not to fall for this trap. I am 40 and the holy spirit recently convinced me of this sin. i had been smoking since i was 14. Here is my reference: Isaiah 5: 12, And the harp and the viol the tabret and PIPE and wine are in their feasts but they regard not the work of the LORD neither consider the operation of his hands. WE are to be of SOBER MIND. i used to think i was even while smoking pot... im afraid its just not the case though.

    On JOB 42:6

The Word of God is God ( John 1:1) and is not of any private interpretation ( 2 Peter 1:20).

The word 'Repent' in different forms (repent, repentance, repented, repentest, repenteth, repenting, repentings) is mentioned 110 times in the KJV, and means a lot more than what people by nature have been conditioned to believe. The word 'repent' used in the New Testament was translated from the Greek word "metanoeo", and means to change, transform, to think differently or reconsider.

It is the key principle of all the teachings of Jesus Christ and the axiom (basis) of the Word of God and a prerequisite and primary requirement for the salvation of mankind. It actually means the changing of spirits - to turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan unto God ( Acts 26:18).

For a better understanding and the 'spiritual truth' of what it means to repent, and learn how and by whom mankind has been deceived ( Rev. 12:9) and what people must do to be reunited with the true and living God, we invite you to seek Him according to the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive ( Matthew 7:7; John 14:17).

You need not that any man teach you ( Isaiah 54:13; 6:45; 1 John 2:27), as mankind follows after an image of a false god and a false Christ ( Matthew 24:24; Mark 13:22; Gal. 4:8; 2 Cor. 11:13-15; Rev. 12:9).

It is only by revelation of God that people will come to know the true Christ ( Daniel 12:4,9; Amos 3:7; Matthew 16:17; Luke 2:26; Romans 16:25; 1 Cor. 2:10; Gal. 1:16; Eph. 3:3,5; Rev. 1:1), and only then will you be able to overcome the spirit of this world ( 1 John 5:4; Rev. 3:21) and learn what 'True Repentance' means, and how this whole world has been deceived ( Rev. 12:9). It should also be remembered that it is a narrow way that leadeth unto 'Life', and few there be that find it ( Matthew 7:14).

LUKE 15:10. LIKEWISE, I SAY UNTO YOU, THERE IS JOY IN THE PRESENCE OF THE ANGELS OF GOD OVER ONE SINNER THAT REPENTETH.

HI. i approve of the way you answered the above question on astrology. Not that you need my approval but it draws me to you to ask a question. i am being oppressed by spiritual forces. i hear voices. The bible refers to them as serpents. i believe they are dark fallen angels. The holy spirit is working in me and has convinced me of alot of sins. i am trying to draw nigh to him, so he will draw nigh to me, I have fibromyalgia. the level of anxiety i have is very high . i read the bible day and night to learn what to do and what not to do... my question is this... sometimes i drink a small bottle of fireball alcohol to settle my nerves. the bottle is the small ones they sell at the liquor store. it is 35% alcohol by volume. The references in the bible i am currently studying are isaiah 5: 11 and 5: 22 as well as 1 timothy 5:23 . There are also a few others (one makes a reference to fermentation). In isaiah 5:11 it says (strong drink) which states in the KJV study bible at the bottom that strong drink refers to fermented drink. It states woe unto them that wake up in the morning and continue until night. On isaiah 5:22 it makes a second reference to men of strength to mingle strong drink. (fermented). My understanding is that an alcohol above a certain alcohol content no longer contains fermentation. Psalm 75:8 i see as well but dont understand. My question is do you think me drinking one of those ( it wont get me drunk) in the evening is a sin? So long as i dont get drunk? I mean not to do wrong here or to test GOD. My pain is high as well from fibro though. a second ? i have Also i have been going over Gods healing as well and have learned much there. 1st ref james 5:14,15,16. More ref: Lev16-29 Lev:17:5-7. Ex: 30:33 Lev:78: 20-27 and Lev 20: 17,18. Any insight on the second question i would welcome. Thank you.

Thanks Chris! Tell me, what are your thoughts on "gifts off the spirit" I have been to churches that say "you are not saved if you don't speak in tongues. (which translated from the Greek is known Languages) During the event of Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit came upon the believers of Jesus, they begin to speak in other Languages (tongues) and we know it was known languages because the Bible tells us there were devout Jews form all over the known world at the time who were in Jerusalem at the time and heard the "unlearned me" speaking perfectly in their language! Seems to be its not some unknown babel or some special heavenly language but an actual language that is known. Now, the gift of healing where you see in the New Testament where Jesus raised the dead, healed the blind, the paralyzed walked, etc. After the day of Pentecost, you see the disciples of performing the same miracles. It seems later in the lives of the Apostles however, Paul writes a letter to Timothy and tells him to not only drink water but drink a little wine for his frequent stomach troubles. Why wouldn't Paul just heal him? Today the most notable faith healers have turned out to be frauds. But if in fact there were any out there who could lay hands on people and they become healed, don't you think they would go to the nearest children's hospital and clear it out? What are your thoughts on this?
