    Brother Adam:

Luke 20:36 And THEY (who are they) CAN DIE NO MORE (they DIED on the cross of Christ):for they are EQUAL unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the CHILDREN of the RESURRECTION.

If you are the children of the RESURRECTION, you had to literally died to be resurrected.

Revelation 20:6 Blessed and Holy is he that hath part in the FIRST RESURRECTION ......

Isaiah 26:19 ... together with my dead body shall they arise ......

God spoke the words before you were ever born of woman, that you would be raised as ONE with Christ.

The carnal mind is ENMITY against the words of God.

The Spirit of TRUTH was SENT to destroy the WORKS of Satan, our carnal mind.

Philippians 1:29 For it is GIVEN TO YOU on the behalf of Christ (the Spirit of TRUTH) TO BELIEVE ......

    God Bless YOU!

    Brother Jim:

The church IS NOT a building made of brick and mortar, where earthy husbands and wives go, those churches are were the DEAD worship the works of their hands.

Revelation 21:22 And I saw no CHURCH therein, because the LORD God Almighty and the LAMB are the CHURCH ......

The DEAD attend church 2 hours a week, the LIVING are IN CHURCH 24/7.

The carnal mind is ENMITY against GOD.

God BLESS YOU, as the Spirit of truth destroys your carnal mind

"Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:11 KJV

I'm not aware of any scripture saying you're dead. I assume you believe this is a metaphor and not literal.

If in Christ it says you're alive in Christ. Not dead. Scripture does say dead to sin, but that's different I haven't seen any scripture saying you're flat out dead, have you?

    Hello "Jim Miller"

    Greetings in Christ JESUS

Yes, "Excellent exegesis (of) Brother Giannis, yet terriffying subject matter" , but there are more also very terrifying things said by our Lord Jesus Christ for happening in this current time, simultaneously and sequencially after this current period of sorrows that is running, as follow:

    Matthew 24:9-15

9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.

10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.

11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.

12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.

13 But he that SHALL ENDURE unto the END, the same shall be saved.

14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then SHALL THE END come.

    15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) --->2Thes. 2:3-4 -> 3 Let no man deceive you by any means:for that Day (referring to this current Day, the seventh and last Day) shall not come,except there come a falling away first,and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

4 Who opposeth (will opose)and exalt(eth) himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth (shall sit- John 5:43-47) in the temple of God(JERUSALEM, spiritually called Sodom and Egypt- Revelation 11:8), shewing himself that he is God. Furthermore we will see not so far from this present time, the son of perdition shall give to the Vicarivs Filii Dei

his Power, and his Seat(in Jerusalem), and great Authority- Revelation 13:2.

And there was (there will be) given unto him (unto the Beast of sea)a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.

Let's be ready, the days will be shortened

Romans 8:2 For the LAW of the SPIRIT OF LIFE in Christ ......

    Brother Jordyn,

    >The word of God cuts both ways, a two edged sword.

    >How many husbands love their wives as CHRIST loves the church ..... probably NONE.

    >The word says you are the WIFE of Christ, so these scripture of a wife submitting to her HUSBAND apply as much to you as to any earthly wife.

What you wrote in your original post "you are the WIFE of Christ" was bordering on blasphemy. In NO WAY shape or form is the Christian HUSBAND the WIFE of CHRIST in any regard. While this passage Ephesians 5:22-24 draws parallels between the relationship of Christ and the Church and the relationship between a husband and wife, it at no time places the husband on equal footing with the wife. As if the husband being in the "church" makes him the wife of Christ because the Church is the wife of Christ. That mishandling of scripture could be used to justify same-sex marriages and homosexual relations. It is one of the grossest mishandling of scripture I've encountered.

Several scriptures 1 Peter 3:1, 1 Peter 3:5-6, Col 3:18, Eph 5:22-24 and the common thread running through the entire bible support Christian women to submit to their Christian husbands.

I usually get an enormous amount of pushback on this subject by both Christian men and women. If they can not even do this how will they do the weightier things of scripture? It is the sad state we find Christendom in today.

1 Peter 4:17 (KJV) 17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

Judgement starts in the house of God and so many of our churches are out of order that it is no wonder why!

Then it was nonsensical to bring it even up to help support your original position regarding wives submitting to their husbands. If he wasn't saved then it doesn't even apply to the subject at hand. It was presented as he was saved and beating his wife in a sense impugning the notion of Christian wives submitting to husbands. Then you brought up another exception a husband commanding his wife to sin. Again a true man of God is not going to do any of these things.

I'm also always amazed by the amount of pushback this topic gets from both men and women in Christendom...

Paul urges all those claiming to be spiritually saved to "examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves" 2 Corinthians 13:5 (KJV) 5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

The whole word of God is about Christ and his bride, the church.

The whole chapter of Ephesians 5 is speaking of Christ the husband and the woman his wife.

Ephesians 5:32 This is a MYSTERY, but I SPEAK CONCERNING Christ and HIS CHURCH.

    Friends,

After reading two threads, which stated that "we could never love like God loves" I felt compel by Holy Spirit to correct this belief, that's unscriptural.

    Paul states 2Cor 5:14

The love of God that flowed through him, he states in Gal 2:20 it was Christ that dwelling within him, living, moving & having His being within Paul, having His mind, heart & spirit. & where Christ dwells He brings His Father with Him John14:23 & God is love, he became an living expression of the Godhead, there's no way that in this abide abode that God love was not known, felt, displays in his life. Have you ever tried keeping your human love in? What about God ?

Jesus states in John15:10 "abide in His love"

We must believe that we can Ephesians 3:19 as we continue to grow in Grace in the knowledge of His will that

Hebrews 10:10 for faith Gal 5:6

1 John 1:14 perfect love experienced, is what John the beloved "tasted, seen & handled" 1John 4:12

1 Thessalonians 4:9 God taught them how to love as He loves

John 13:14 "as I have love you"

    Folks,

To my understanding, Jesus prayer in John 17:21-23 reveals a union between the Spirit & Soul of our Creator & his creatures that unites us in such an wonderous way, that it took Divinity to imagine it, & the Son accomplish all His Father's heart desire. Matt 17:5

    Jeremiah 32:38-41 Love never fails.

    Hello Jordyn

1 John 3:9, "Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God."

The above is an example of a misunderstanding that may occur when a scripture is not translated precisely. Well there is an excuse here since in this case there isn't a respective English term for the grk verb "amartano". It is translated "commit sin" but unlike the Engl. the grk indicates a continuous action, a continuous situation. This means that what the verse says is that whosoever is born of God does not keep sinning or living a sinful life because the seed/Word of God lives inside him. This doesn't mean that he never sins but he never lives a sinful life any more.

Similarly 1 John 3:6, "Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him." That "sinneth not" is not right, it shpuld be "sining not", a continuous condition.

See 1 John 1:8-9, "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

    Blessings

What makes you think that I didn't realize that that husband who was openly beating his wife wasn't a true Christian ? The disappointing aspect of this episode is that none of the other brethren did anything to help this poor sister . They sat in the same congregation as her and her husband year after year , looking at her bruises and doing nothing . The situation came to an abrupt end when he , went to bed one night and didn't wake up the next morning . The sense of relief among our congregation was enormous . Sadly this whole episode changed the way many of us sisters felt about our brethren who had done nothing at all , for years , to help this poor sister . Thankfully God Himself intervened where they refused to .

    "Rainwalker" and Giannis

    Greetings in Christ JESUS

In addition to my previous post about SOUL and SPIRIT, I would like to comment on the magnitude / greatness of distinguishing the offering that pleases GOD and what does not.

    Genesis 4:3-5

3 And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground(Inanimate things, i.e. lifeless, without SOUL) an offering unto the Lord.

4 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock (a being that has a SOUL) and of the fat thereof. And the Lord had respect unto Abel and to his offering(the offering of Abel was from GOD's perspective): 5 But unto Cain and to his offering GOD had not respect. (Why? Because the offering of Cain was inanimate things, without soul, i.e. lifeless, like the dead letter of the Law that kills, it is mortal, a human offering by the spirit of man, not by the Spirit of GOD.)

JESUS said to Satan: your thinking is from a human perspective(the offering of Cain was from a human perspective), a stumbling block, and not from GOD's perspective. Matt.16:22-23.

And GOD said through Isaiah: Cease ye from man, whose breath is in his nostrils: for wherein is he to be accounted of ? Is.2:22

    Amen Bro dan:

All men DIED (take up your cross and follow me in death), a NEW CREATION arose, the BODY of Christ, the bride, Christ's wife: and Christ being the HEAD of the BODY.

1 John 3:9 Whosoever is BORN (new birth, being RAISED as the body of Christ, and Christ as the head of that body) doth not commit sin, BECAUSE his SEED (the word of God, truth, life) remaineth IN HIM (this mystery, Christ IN YOU), and he CANNOT SIN

    WHY can't we sin: BECAUSE

Ezekiel 36:27 And I WILL put my SPIRIT (the Spirit that raised Christ) IN YOU, and I WILL CAUSE you to walk in my statutes, and TO KEEP my judgements and DO THEM.

It's not our works (in that day they will say, did WE NOT): we do nothing it's all the WORKS OF GOD.

Revelation 2:26 .... and KEEPS my WORKS .....

Isaiah 26:10 ....TOGETHER (as ONE), with my DEAD BODY shall they ARISE .....

    Revelation 21:5 ..... I MAKE all things NEW ......

John 17:22 And the GLORY that thou GAVEST ME, I have given them, that as WE ARE ONE, that may be ONE .

Christ was RAISED with eternal (IMMORTAL) LIFE, we are joint-heirs of that eternal LIFE

1 Timothy 6:16 ... Christ ONLY hath IMMORTALITY, dwelling in the light .....

1 Corinthians 15:53 ....this mortal MUST PUT ON IMMORTALITY ....

1 Corinthians 15:38 ... and to every SEED ..... HIS OWN BODY ......

1 Corinthians 12:27 ..... ye are the BODY of CHRIST ......

Women always like to bring up the exceptions. In those examples that you brought up the man isn't even a real Christian, because a true Christian who has been redeemed by the Holy Spirit would not do such. When we abide in the Christian doctrine, we give proof of the reality of our faith. Ye will know them by their fruit Matthew 7:15-20

What I find shocking is that you don't realize that.

Brother Giannis,

You should know better than what he stated was certainly not "right." Those scriptures in no way support such a position.

    >The word says you are the WIFE of Christ, so these scripture of a wife submitting to her HUSBAND apply as much to you as to >any earthly wife.

This sort of miss handling of scripture borders on blasphemy. One could claim if what he is stating is true homosexual relations are justified.

    The Lord Rebuke thee brother!

    Hello Jim

Maybe Matthew 6:14-15 can be applicable to such a situation, "For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses"

What about Matthew 5:8, "Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.". If in our heart dwells bitterness, hostility, passions, ...?

Some thoughts about the unpardonable sin. Firstly in general all unrepentant sin is unpardonable. But there are cases in a christian life that a sin can become unpardonable. It seems that there is a line that if one crosses, there is no return. I would call it "a line of repentance". When one crosses that line it seems they will never repent any more whatever happens in their life

    1. An individual apostasy from God that goes on and on for a long time and christians are moving further and further away from God while their heart gets more and more hardened and their conscious becomes less and less sensitive, seems they eventually cross the line of no return. It is the situation described by Paul in Hebrews 10:26-29 and Hebrews 6:4-8.

    2. Blasphemy against the HS. The word Blasphemy in anc grk has the meaning of giving somebody a bad reputation, lke calling demonic the actions of the HS. It is unpardonable. Again people who do that have already crossed the repentance line. Why? Because one who in purpose and with full knowledge of what is doing(not just repeat what he heard from somebody else) fights against God, there is noway he will ever repent.

    3. Lying to the Holly Spirit, like Ananias and Sapphira did. They were not given any chance to repent(apart from being questioned by Peter), they immediately fell down dead. So trying to cheat on the Holly Spirit is unpardonable.

    4. As a final one that will occur in the future. Receiving the mark of the beast is also unpardonable. This indicates that people who will accept the mark will have knowledge of what they will be doing.

    Blessings.

    Bro Dan, to continue.

We need our Lord as our Savior every moment of our lives. not just at conversion. He is what keeps us alive, instead of dying physically at the point of sin. He stays the wrath of God and the condemnation of sin from us because He took our wrath for us on the cross. This is true of every person elected to salvation beginning with Adam and Eve. Otherwise, they would have died instantly when they sinned just once. Christ is our refuge every moment. He keeps us. The Father can only accept us and bring us to Himself through Jesus. Our sin is so offensive to Him and that even one sin would offend Him forever. there would never be any mercy or grace supplied to man if Jesus had not become human to be our sacrifice, substitute, ransom, propitiation, and wrath receptacle for even one sin. So, every moment of our lives, the corruption that is in us is due to the sinful nature that infects and influences all of our being. So, every moment, we need a Savior to be the righteousness God accepts on our behalf. Our righteousness is never perfect enough to be considered to have reached sinless perfection.

But I never would advocate a defeatist attitude that gives in to sin because of innate sinfulness that remains after conversion. Nor would I advocate antinomianism that teaches that since we are under grace, we can sin all we want because all of our sins are forgiven-past, present, and future. Nor would I advocate a legalism that proscribes all that we need to do to be sinless. The Pharisees thought that their self-proscribed righteous deeds could make them perfect and acceptable to God.

I hope you have a good day, Bro Dan. We can talk more on another topic, but it is ok to me if you wish to respond back to me on this topic.
  • GiGi - In Reply - 1 year ago
    Hello Bro Dan.

I do not hold to the doctrine of sinless perfection in this life. I believe it is an error and that those who claim to have attained it are sinning due to pride and that the imagination of their mind is faulty and therefore they are not perfect in every way as Jesus was and is. Also, this doctrine is a stumbling block to those who believe this doctrine and wish to attain to sinless perfection and have not. They will feel defeated in their walk with God instead of uplifted knowing that the Holy Spirit is our helper, but not our "doer" in utilizing our will to obey God in EVERY way possible. One who has attained sinless perfection would have a perfect body that cannot die, get sick, or deteriorate. One who has attained sinless perfection would never make any mental error or act in any way that would be deemed a "mistake". One's judgements would always be correct in every circumstance and one would no longer need to learn anything new because one's mind would be perfect in the knowledge God wants us to have.

Sinless perfection involves so much more than simply not committing outward sins. For these reasons, I cannot embrace it as a true doctrine. Now that I know that you believe this doctrine, I do not think that it is fruitful to continue to discuss it between us because I will not have a change of belief on this matter.

Bro Dan. We all should be desiring and using all that comes to us from being regenerated to serve God in truth and in obedience. Jesus never had a moment that was not focused on doing the will of the Father and also in not being completely abandoned to the Father in love. Could any person honestly say that they have "attained" to this measure of sinless perfection?

    I do not think so.

But, in regards to using the word "can't", I use this word because I know that I possess the sinful nature at all times until my dying moment. This nature corrupts me, body, soul, and spirit. I daily fight to overcome it....cont.

    Dear Jordyn.

Thank you for replying to me. I disagree with you in what you've posted in response to me. We are beings with free agency. We do not lose this when we are regenerated by the Holy Spirit. But our will is sanctified by Him. Beyond this statement, I do not wish to go further with you as we are not in harmony on this and on other matters you've written about.

Have a good day. We are God's children and we are growing up into Christ more and more in the time we are given in this life. He does not need to refine Himself in us. He does not change, but we do, thus giving evidence that we are not just a pot, but a being made to become compatible with God through Christ.

I have no problem being subject to my husband or the male elders in my congregation for Christ's sake . For any man to think that a women is inferior to a man just because she is a woman , is very offensive to most women . I choose to be subject to my husband and male elders because it is what Christ requests me to do , not because I am , of feel , inferior to , any man . What do you think about a husband ( a Christian ) who does something very wrong and demands that his wife (also a Christian ) keep silence about it for his sake ? As we are all responsible for our sins and will each of us , man or woman , have to give account of ourselves to Christ , and bear our individual punishments , that wife will be punished for obeying her husband . If the husband is the head of the wife and the husband commits a grievous sin , does his sin rest on her also ? Should she not , go over his head and answer first and foremost to her saviour rather than her husband ? Many years ago in my congregation , a married sister would come to our services , with her husband , and very often a black eye or bruise on her face . None of the brethren ever spoke to her or her husband about this . The husband never allowed her to be alone with anyone that she might talk to about this . This miserable situatuation continued for years . It distressed every sister in the congregation and made them , us , think so much less of our elders who permitted this without ever trying to sort it out . Men are imperfect . Christ is not . I will have to give Christ ( not a man ) an account of myself . He , Christ will judge me , not a man . If it comes to a choice between either obeying Christ , or any man , I know what I will do .

    The battle

When Jesus advised his disciples on the night he was taken, "and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one."( Luke 22:36). The sword was a badge of office for soldiers of Christ. Instead the apostate church has activism and on earth they are to strengthen the hand of the beast.. There shall be a battle as there was a battle against the Amalekites in the days of Moses,(Ex.17:11-12). There shall be a final battle (Re.20:8-9). And these battles have their order as there are waves of resurrection.

And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.

In the case of the war with the Amalekites Moses stood on top of the hill with the rod of God, which is clue to the intent of the Spirit. The rod in the hand of Moses was for his glory and with which God brought plagues upon the land of Egypt. Moses was in place of the Lord directing the war."To morrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in mine hand."

We have been warned of his coming. "And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you."(Matt.24:4).

    (Matt.13:29-30)

    Harvest- Conclusion

This Parable of Jesus also serves to impress us the ingathering is no longer restricted to the nation of Israel or in context of the Law of Moses. This celebration is in direct frame of reference to the everlasting covenant. (Note: Le.23:33-43 it was celebrated immediately after the harvest, in the month Tisri, and the celebration lasted for eight days. This feast was designed (1) to be a memorial of the wilderness wanderings, when the people dwelt in booths (Le.23:43), and (2) to be a harvest thanksgiving (Ne.8:9-18))

20In that day shall there be upon the bells of the horses,Holiness Unto The Lord; and the pots in theLord's house shall be like the bowls before the altar./Yea, every pot in Jerusalem and in Judah shall be holiness unto theLordof hosts: and all they that sacrifice shall come and take of them, and seethe therein:and in that day there shall be no more the Canaanite in the house of theLordof hosts.

So concludes our study of the Book of Zechariah.

    Ze.14:18-21 (3 of 3)

    "Worship the Lord"

/And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it."(Re.21:23-26).

God gave freely indwelling Spirit so we are in high places already when we revere 'Christ in us' by faith. What prevents a Christian from worshipping him in Spirit and truth? It is a kind of Alzheimer's disease, spiritually affecting him trapping in the unrealistic world-view so glory of wealth, praise of men pomp and circumstance seem as true. The ungodly leaders of man are affected as Christians whose reasonable faculties do play hopscotch with reality. Those patriots who cry 'Remember 1776' do not remember all those social injustices brought forward with impunity since then, have dug trenches so nothing short of total overhaul is going to remedy the situation. The plague mentioned in the v.12 is a nuclear holocaust before we shall have a government of Righteousness.

18And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain; there shall be the plague, wherewith theLordwill smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles./This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all nations that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.

Significance of the third of the great annual festivals of the Jews is to usher in the Day of Regeneration after the harvest of souls. At this point let us keep the passage quoted from the Parable of the Tares in mind. "But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them./Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn".(Matt.13:29-30). Nothing that offends shall be allowed in.

Harvest signals the ingathering of saints redeemed from the earth, which as we have said earlier, has its own order.

    Sister GiGi:

You said we ARE working with the Holy Spirit:

We ARE NOT working WITH the Holy Spirit.

We are a POT, a pot does nothing, it's made to HOLD something, we; a pot, hold the SPIRIT, the SPIRIT gives the POT LIFE, the Spirit does ALL THE WORK, the pot only does what the SPIRIT CAUSES it to DO. YOU DIED on the cross: a NEW CREATION arose, the BODY of CHRIST.

Ezekiel 36:27 And I WILL put my Spirit IN YOU, and CAUSE YOU to WALK in my statutes and to KEEP my judgements and DO THEM.

Psalms 145:10 ALL THY WORKS shall praise thee ......

Psalms 139:14 ..... I am fearfully and wonderfully made (a NEW CREATION): marvellous are THY WORKS .....

Psalms 104:30 ....the SENDEST FORTH thy SPIRIT, they are CREATED (anew), thou renewest the face of the earth.

The gospel of the RESURRECTION has been lost to the traditions of man.

And God shined light in to DARKNESS (the pots of the earth) and they COMPREHENDED it not.

    God Bless YOU!

And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, theLordof hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles./17And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, theLordof hosts, even upon them shall be no rain.

We have these verses from the Book of Isaiah what it is to worship the Lord God in Spirit and in truth. "And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of theLord's house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it./And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of theLord, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of theLordfrom Jerusalem."(Is.2:2-3)

All nations shall flow into it. Not song of the degrees but leaping with hind's feet and hearts burning with zeal for the beauty of holiness. "The LORD Godismy strength, and he will make my feet like hinds'feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places."(Hab.3:19); Ps.18:13.

Often we miss the fact we are in our spiritual bodies so the spiritual space about our hearts is next door to the House of Prayer for all nations. "I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness." it is the joyful expectation of any saint. (Ps.84:10)

"But Jerusalem shall be safely inhabited."(v.11). We read the glory of the city has a source, "For the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof./And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it"

    Ze.14:8 (1 of 3)

    "In Summer and Winter"

And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be.(v.8)

'In summer and in winter shall it be.' Three months mark the period between summer and winter. Living waters dividing from each other are not one single event. Five months which must be fair estimation for which we have the authority of the Book of the Revelation. Ch.9

"And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit./And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit."(Re.9:1-2). It releases hurtful things that cannot kill but prolong agony. "And their power was to hurt men five months./And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon." Their power lasts five months, which ties up with the expression, 'in summer and in winter shall it be'. Inclusive of the setting of summer and ending of winter it shall be five months.

The living waters refer to those elect who shall see the Son of man coming in his glory, which has a concrete imagery. Jesus alluded to the sign of summer in this passage, "Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet teder, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:"(Matt.24:29-32) The remnant shall be left in charge of Abaddon for five months.

    vv.6-7

Compare the above with the passage, "Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:"(Matt.24:29)
