Of question: The vision of Constantine of bringing together Church and State by the Cross, was it of God or man? Did the True Church stay separate? Can we know?

For Teresa and family, many prayers are with you this very day.

  • 1 Corinthians 6 - In Reply on 1 John 1 - 5 years ago
I was referring to this passage.

1 Corinthians 6. The first part of the chapter refers to Christians going to the law against other Christians.

Here Paul is preaching to a mixed group I believe: Jews, Gentiles, believers

All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.

13 Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.

14 And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by his own power.

15 Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.

16 What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh.

17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.

18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doth is outside the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.

19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

Why do you feel you need to approve or disapprove everything someone says? Did Jesus? He taught patiently, used parables so everyone could identify with what he was saying. Quoted the law and then presented what Grace is.

This is what God did to me when all I did was love Him and other people. At age 10 He let me get depression that I 've had over 20 years now. He hasn't comforted me in the least. It says that those who seek him earnestly will be rewarded. Where is my reward? It also says God is not a man that he should lie. Well, then if that is true, he must be a man. I have been crying nights and days for years. Everything in me wants to say screw you. But I'm still here because my life isn't my own. I can't even hold down a job now I'm so messed up. I'm fighting to stay here. And God, He's just watching...Waiting for me to die so He can condemn me. This is what God does to people who love Him, He hurts them and watches them suffer and kills all their hope. This is what God does to people who hope in Him, He makes them wait forever with no answer and then almost gives them hope and then takes it away. This is what God does to terrible people, He blesses them.

The Roman Catholic Church is a false religion. The Pope is a liar and they worship satan. It is not true Christianity. Saturday is the true Sabbath. Use the only true bible. King James Bible. The ten commandments. Mary is an idol.

1 John 1:8 says it all. To all of you who say you have no sin anymore, you only deceive yourselves and the truth isn't in you. Just to look upon another and have lust in your heart is committing adultery with them. Jesus told us that. It isn't about the 10 commandments, cause God gave us those to show that we are all sinners.

Paul tells us to trust in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus and that is the gospel of Grace. That is salvation for us in the age of Grace. God's grace for all who believe. Don't put your trust in your ability to keep all the commands and to live a righteous life. Cause you can't, and God already knows that. That is why He sent us His Son.
  • Kags - In Reply on 1 John 1 - 5 years ago
Yep, it is unbelief in the shed blood of Jesus that condemns anyone. Grace thru faith is salvation. And you can't add anything else on to it. If you could, then why did Jesus say it was finished on the cross? Salvation was finished when Jesus shed His blood on that cross and died our death. But He arose again on the 3rd day to have victory over death, hell and satan. And we have that same victory thru Jesus, not cause of ourselves.

I am happy to hear you are a sister in Christ. I know sometimes our hunger for the Word of God can grow in leaps & bounds.

I've kind of adopted a lifestyle of methods to satisfy my thirst and hunger for Gods Word through scripture. I seem to experience more growth through praise and worship and just sitting quietly beside my bed on the floor, before the Lord: listening for His voice.

King David frequently sat quietly before the Lord: Psalm 63:6, Proverbs 8:34

I stay in touch with the prophetic community through Youtube. You have to know some people... you don't want to hear false prophesy or teaching. If the Bible doesn't agree with it, then it's from the flesh.

I find it easier to hear Hods Word if I turn off all the media noise.

Find out what works best for you.
  • Kags - In Reply on 1 John 1 - 5 years ago
So you think that every time we sin ( to look upon another and lust ) you lose your salvation? So how many times does Jesus have to suffer on the cross for you not to lose your salvation? Your faith is what saves you by the grace of God. It isn't baptism or any other work that you can do. It is faith plus nothing.

I need discernment from God. I don't know what to do about my addiction my depression or my life. I'm lost. I feel like I'm drowning. I don't trust people because they hurt me too much but I can't do this alone. God needs to know how desperate I am. I don't know what to do and He's not clear enough.

In the commentary Mathew Henry writes "And let us be thankful that Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, by being made a curse for us, and bearing in his own person all that punishment which our sins merit, and which we must otherwise have endured for ever."

However in Matthew 5:17-20 King James Version reads:

17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

    Mishael,

You mention the King James Bible as being canonized by the Council of Carthage and I am curious about that. Did you read that someplace? My understanding is that the King James Bible was named after King James I, who lived from 1566 to 1625. The King James Bible was not in existence until the early 1600s. So I was just curious about how it could have been canonized by the Council of Carthage?

Thanks ahead of time, and thank you so much for the things you share here. Your posts always impress upon me your love for the Lord and true concern for the spiritual welfare of others. Again, thank you!

What is the difference between soul and spirit? Sometimes it seems as though the two are treated as the same thing, and yet other passages list body, spirit and soul as three separate things. I'm confused.
  • GROWING YOUR FAITH - In Reply on Isaiah 1 - 5 years ago
Go in here and read the process of becoming a true born again Christian; who has received the Holy Spirit whom Jesus told us to receive. He is God, and He will be your Teacher as you begin to read Gods Word, in the Bible, every day.

Start in 1,2,3, John near the back of the Bible. Your aim: is to feed your faith. As long as you starve it; it will remain small.

Your walk with Jesus will become increasingly secure and full of joy.

Go back to the red area on this website and select Become a Christian to read through the material about what happens after believing in Jesus.

    John,

That is a great analogy on that parable. Very well said. It is indeed a difficult thing for a man who values his earthly riches to give it all up to follow Christ. Thank you for sharing that!
  • Mishael - In Reply on Revelation 4 - 5 years ago
The Council of Carthage in AD 397 determined the Christian New Testament canon(collection of books to be included in the Bible) but the Bible itself was written by over 40 men over a period of 1500 years from the time of Moses around 1400 BC to John the Elder near the end of the first century.

You should ask CHRIS who is very knowledgeable about how the Bible came to be.

I use the King James Bible over other translations because this is the one that was canonized by that council.

I understand that maybe you are referring to what the Torah may say about the names. The scripture I gave you about the Archangel Gabriel's announcement of the name of Jesus, is what is recorded in the Bible. What Bible do you use, may I ask?

No matter what Bible, or what language, the Name of Jesus is the name, by which a person must be born again. Arguing about whether it's the correct name is not going to help anyone be born again.

Salvation is an act of agreement that we are all sinful and in need of Salvation. Our sins are put upon The Scapegoat, which is Jesus Christ of Nazareth: and He makes atonement for our sins by His Holy Blood sacrifice.

FAITH in what Jesus did on the Cross of Calvary for sinful mankind, is what will give you peace and security in His Sacrifice.

You must be born again. John 3

    Hi,

I am requesting prayer for my family & I. God knows all the small details. I will, however share a bit. Pray that my 23 year old daughter will not take an abortion pill. (She is married and has 2 girls under 3) She & her husband live with us in a small 1500 square foot house; that is 4 adults and 2 children. Pray that my biopsy on a place in my esophagus comes back benign. Pray that my son in law can go back to work soon. Pray for my brother in law will be able to work soon again. Pray that I will seek & spend time with God more. (Hard to do in a houseful!) I'm feeling SO overwhelmed! I've been seeing a counselor for a little over 2 years and she had to leave for some "family matters". I really miss her right now. The Holy Spirit did tell me to talk to my Heavenly Father instead. Pray that I can & will do that. Thank you for praying!

@ Thomas Hills, You need to renew your mind with God's written words, for God ways and thoughts are higher than your ways and thoughts. You have to be a doer of God's words, and not just a reader or hearer. Do Roman 12:1-2; a lot more. Submit to God, and the Devil, and his demons will flee from you. Cast away thoughts that go against God's words or thoughts that goes against God's written words, do 1 Corinthians10:5; more, and you have to rightly divide the word of truth anyway. Only Jesus can the author and finisher of your faith. Remember Job depended on God. With faith and love (obeying God) we can please God. Get a deep foundation in the word of God in the new testament books first.

Hello again Walter, I would like to add that the events mentioned took place some 28-30 years ago. I have Children still living at home that have the same power and peace with songs on their hearts after their true repentance, born again relationships with the Lord began several years ago.

There is no righteousness in what I am now going to say, but the reasonable service has been helpful in my Christian Life.

I do not read end times books, listen to Radio or TV nor watch movies.

I am careful what I do read.

I do not participate at all in exercising my American rights on any issue as a point, to any neighbor.

    I do not vote.

I understand that offense and pride are the easiest targets for Satan to disrupt my Life in Christ.

I can claim that I have peace with God and man this very day to the best that I am able to understand and remain teachable.

I believe that the Lord will only return for the harvest thus claiming His Bride.

The reign of Christ in the hearts of believers along with the written Word has provided an adequate witness to the world that God is true and His Son Jesus made away for our sin to be reconciled (Forgiven) as children in earth.

God bless the Christian walk which is our conversation.
