Sister Mary, good question. I appreciate somewhat lengthy 'general or typical response' from brother Chris. But I'll give you specific theological response.

When you received Christ as your personal saviour, you also received the other two members of Trinity (1Joh 5:7), Holy Ghost and GOD the Father, and you are now born again (Joh 3:3). You are a baby spiritually in the beginning when you are just saved recently. You can't feel or experience HIM right away but you need to grow spiritually to experience a new spiritual birth. Naturally everybody is born with devil spirit simply because we inherited Adam's sin and therefore we are sinners by birth ( Rom 5:12-14).

A newly born baby does not know what is going on around him until he will grow up physically and mentally, does he? Same analogy with spiritual rebirth. Grow spiritually by reading scripture, praying, listening to preaching, and etc. Then you can feel joy and do not forget to spread gospel to others.

Some theological consideration. I have many things to say about Holy Ghost but I can't say them all here. Did you know Trinity WORKS and exists as ONE? In other words you can't receive Christ or Spirit independently as I indicated above. I hear truly saved people say that they are uncertain if they received Spirit also. Are you one of them? I'll just list verses for you to understand about Trinity more deeply without going lengthy discussion. Joh 10:30, 6:44, 14:6; 1Joh 5:7, 8. Thanks

How do you know for sure that the Holy Spirit is inside of you? Is it that feeling before you say something that tells you that is not to be said, or don't do that, or wait not yet?

PAUL SAID . I knew a man , either in the body or out of the body such an one was caught up unto Third Heaven, it stands to reason if there is a third Heaven... there must be a first and a second..... i believe that the relationship between the tabernacle in the wilderness and the three heavens are directly related with each other

Faith is not the gift my Brother .... GRACE is the gift.. Faith is the action in by which we over come ... and that faith is the faith of Jesus Christ. not of ourselves.. REMEMBER ITS NOT ABOUT US .. its not of any works that man can boast of its the works of the spirit of Jesus that makes the difference. We must put away this idea that we can tell God How to save us.

Hi brother Chris, This is Ezekiel who wrote annotation on 1Cor 7:30 about 14 hrs ago. Thanks for your comment. I wrote complete annotation (I don't call it commentary no longer) for the entire Bible and came up with some new theologies during my last 11 years of Bible study and plan to start my ministry or church soon 'with GOD'S assistance'.

When I was studying 1Cor ch 7 yesterday, I thought that people would have difficulties to understand verse 30 (and verse 29), somewhat strange expression. I could not see what you're trying to say in your response clearly. Basically we believers just pretend as if either good or bad thing did not happen when it happened really and look forward to the glorious time in heaven since we are just passing by this temporary life on earth. Please read the general idea again in the annotation.

When I clicked 'discussion' button, I saw your name at the top. I red your response to somebody asking about Holy Spirit. I will respond shortly too. Now I'm not sure how it works. If I click 'reply' button under your response, would that person who posted the question see my response?

I am currently taking a scripture memory course ( Navigators topical memory system)

I have committed the first five of sixty verses required to successfully complete the course to memory

I am now working on the memorization of Joshua 1:8

Please pray for the ability to be able to know this awesome verse so well that it will be said in conversation with anyone.

I must say it seems to be a great challenge.

Anyone here committed this verse to memory?

    'Sacha'!

    Thank you again.

We are instructed to believe Jesus came 2000 years ago and said, "Repent: for the kingdom of Heaven (on earth) is at hand" Matt 4:17. At hand means within reach. If we were to believe that we are waiting for the first coming of Jesus that explains the condition of human kind today. It also explains why Christianity has failed to convince all people to repent and bring heaven to earth. It explains why we have 3000 divisions within Christianity when truth should be the same for all people. It explains why many of those divisions will marry and ordain the gays, even thought they know God destroyed S&G. Even though they know God never changes. He is the same yesterday, today and forever.

Jesus brings a law, the Law of the New Covenant and he tell us who needs to listen to the Law. Isaiah 1:10: "Hear the word of the Lord, ye rulers of Sodom; give ear unto the law of our God, ye people of Gomorrah. This is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the Lord" When we put these lying children behind the pulpit we hear no truth. But Jesus will be the truth made flesh. His truth will heal our land.

Acts 17: 30, "And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commanded all men every where to repent."

Repentance is the trans of a Greek word metanoia-mentanoeo, meaning to "have another mind", "to change the mind", "a change of mind in respect to sin, of God, and of self."

Rev. 3:19, "As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent."

God does love all humans and he comes to teach people to hate evil and to repent." The day of the Lord will come. I just don't see any evidence that he came 2000 years ago.

    I hope that explains my

    Hello Chris,

I am posting this again because it may have been removed.

Even when I show you scripture that gives us the long list of sins that come from men with men and women who give up the natural use of their body, you do not believe those verses in Romans 1. When I show you that those in S&G have changed into images like animals, birds, creeping things and vipers you do not believe that scripture also stated in Romans 1. I printed the second commandment to show you how they break that commandment. It also explains what Jesus sees when he says, "This is a generation of vipers". He see all people as snakes, children of Satan, the snake.

Can you imagine one person putting an end to all vipers? The Christianity of today has not begun to do this. Are we waiting for the Jesus who will put an end to the vipers?

When Jesus comes he will change the grounds for divorce. Maybe the following will give you some information that will help you understand that oral and anal sex is sin for all people. "But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication [porneia], causeth her to commit adultery [moichao]: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery [moichao]" Matthew 5:32. If a spouse is married to a spouse who commits unnatural sex the spouse who does not believe in unnatural sex has grounds to divorce the one who does.

Now is Jesus Christ himself upon the earth beneath, as witnessed by GOD the Father who sent him, according to his testimony of truth. And now do the spirits of many in heaven, await the appearing of Jesus Christ, from above, looking for their Lord and Saviour (for Jesus Christ himself IS in the flesh, set down at the right hand of God, which being interpreted is; stablished in the earth by these truthful writings that are given of GOD the Father.) Let no man deny or pervert this testimony as it is written in these Holy Scriptures: For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: AND we know that we are of God, and the whole world lies in wickedness. And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, EVEN in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

To Sawme on his comment on the word "Selah". This word has been used many times in Psalms starting in Psalm 3:2, 3:4, and 3:8. Why is it that you said the word Selah was not seen until Psalm 32? The meaning of the word is most likely referring to "pause". Hope this helps.

"For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES:" 1Co 15:3-4

There are lots of Old Testament Scriptures that refer to a suffering and dying Messiah but I've often wondered where is it recorded "that he rose again the third day ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES"

This creed probably started being used by Christians within months of Jesus' resurrection. There were no New Testament writings at that time. "The Scriptures" referred to the Jewish writings, The Law and The Prophets.

I'll share some of my ideas as I hear about yours.

    DeLonne Jones,

"How does a pastor's wife forgive him for adulterous behavior of 6 years?" "Clearly repentance & Godley sorrowful."

I would say that your forgiveness is dependent on believing the truth of his repentence. However, it is something you will probably never forget. Obviously your situation is made more difficult by his illness and a true healing of the marriage may never reach to your satisfaction. In accepting your role of care giver you have demonstrated your love for him and the vows you voiced. What you have shown is what is true about love, namely, that is based on a commitment and not feelings. You should understand that his dementia will produce numerous instances of hurt to your feelings. That is a byproduct of the illness and would occur even without his infidelity.

Your best and only true help, the repair to your heart, is in what comes from your relationship with God. "I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee" Hebrews 13:5 There may very well come a time when for physical or spiritual reasons you cannot go on as his caregiver. I trust you will find it hard to bare, because it will be to you as him being dead/estranged. I pray you will find a morning in your days to come when joy will again fill your heart.

"Think not that I am come to destroy THE LAW, or THE PROPHETS: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil." Mat 5:17

The overall sense is that THE LAW, embodied in The Torah, and THE PROPHETS, embodied in the historical and prophetic writings, are and will be fulfilled by Jesus, as many of the Messanic prophecies foretold.

Jesus is taking the requirements of The Law, "It is written..." and saying, you thought that it just meant this, like don't murder or don't commit adultery. "But I say to you..." not only that but it also goes deeper than your overt actions, to the the intents of your thoughts and motives. "So then, be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect." And the life of Jesus was a live demonstration of that perfection.

In Genesis 22 Abraham was told to offer "thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest," but God stopped and provided a ram caught in a thorn bush. Jesus FULFILLED the important meaning of that incident, at the exact same place on Mount Moriah. Jesus was The Son, The ONLY Son whom The Father loved, and Jesus told the Pharisees "Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad. Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham? Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I AM."Joh 8:56-58

There are perhaps thousands of places in the Old Testament that point to Jesus. One connection I'm particularly interested in is the creed that Paul had received and then delivered to the church at Corinth and then subsequently wrote to them, which we identify as 1 Cor 15:3-7. So exactly where in the OT do we see that Christ "rose again the third day according to the scriptures." I have some ideas. I think I'll post that as a question to get some feedback.

When you have truly repented of your sins & come in faith in the finished work of Jesus on the Cross for you, those sins are taken away, you're forgiven, you have been made clean & acceptable to God & you have God's Spirit dwelling in you. If anyone doesn't come in true repentance & faith in Christ, then salvation is not given. If you have come the way of the Cross & you're truly thankful to the Lord for what He has done for you, then His Spirit will make you completely new in your spirit (re-born spiritually), renew your mind, your view of life, of people and endue with His Power to live for Jesus & give you gifts that you may use to testify of God's Love & build up others. In other words, your life will be completely changed by God because you are a child of God.

Is this what you have experienced, or maybe you've heard that a special outward manifestation is needed as the only proof of the Holy Spirit in you? The Holy Spirit might choose to give this, but it is only faith in Christ that saves you & not the waiting for or pleading for some manifestation. Do you feel that your life is still the same as the old one? That nothing has changed - you may still be careless with sin or still finding delight in doing those things that are not right & not feeling a check in your heart when doing them? If so, you will need to attend to this urgently & seek the Lord & read His Word, that maybe the Spirit of God might reveal Jesus to you afresh.

This couple wanted to appear like the others who had sold much of their possessions & brought the full sale price of their lands & houses to the apostles, so that the money could be distributed to the poor amongst them.

The sin of Ananias & Sapphira was not the amount that they gave to the apostles, but that they lied about how much they sold their possession for, by holding back a part of the sale price & keeping it for themselves. If they declared that they needed a part of the sale proceeds, that would have been fine, but they lied & misled the Church, wanting to appear as generous as the others. And we note, the speedy judgement meted out to them. I often wonder what would be the state of the Church today, if God were to judge us in such a manner - I would think that we would be very few in number.

    "saved by Grace THROUGH FAITH"

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2:8&9

You cut short that verse to construe it to your purposes. "and that(the faith)not of yourselves; it is the gift of God"

Faith in God is a gracious gift of God.

"Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith" Hebrews 12:2 I believe that if you or I were the author of our faith it will finish badly.

"There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death." Proverbs 14:12 & 16:25

Saved is not a condition whereby you are clinging to God, but he with you in his grasp.
