will probably buy those books.
I've always believed we should ask the Lord what He thinks? One of the good ones was Healing The Sick by TL Osborne. I actually got healed reading a couple of chapters! If the Lord says it's useful I do not judge the writer.
He had to sit on me many times to squash that judgmental attitude out of me :/
The war is a already won, satan has been defeated, but we are to look for refugees.
Praise God for His Holy Word!!!
Bless Him today and forevermore for His delight is in our worship!
The 17th and 18th verses of this Psalm have greatly ministered to my soul.
Our God is truly faithful !!
Surely I am more brutish than any man, and have not the understanding of a man.
I neither learned wisdom, nor have the KNOWLEDGE OF THE HOLY.
Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth?
what is HIS name, and what is HIS SON'S name, if thou canst tell?
Comment: First time I ran across this, I knew I needed to learn much more than I was. I want to know what the knowledge of the Holy is.
Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
Comment:
If someone curses you; the way you turn that curse into dust is to bless the one who cursed you. It turns the curse away from you. Christians don't get mad and get even. It just gets you into trouble.
If you forgive....it releases God to get involved in the other persons life. That's how it works.
He sent HIS WORD. He sent Jesus the Son of God. Through Jesus's death on the Cross and Resurrection 3 days later. Jesus was born through a virgin. Babies have their Fathers blood type; not the mothers blood type. His blood was PURE from the sin of humankind. That's why His blood was powerful enough to save and heal the whole world....(past, present, future). IF THEY BELIEVE.
Every Walmart in America sells Bibles. The Bible is how we learn WHO Jesus is. Why does HE love us?
If you go into it with a "what can Jesus do for me? Can he make me rich? Make me look like King David? You're not going to feel the Love.
We give Jesus OUR SINFUL lives and receive HIS SINLESS life. Good trade? It cost Him everything!! He suffered huge, and He did it for YOU.
You should watch the movie that Mel Gibson made called: THE PASSION. It is so realistic; I felt sick, I cried for days.
That's just a movie. Jesus lived that; he died; He was resurrected!! He is alive!
He sees you right now, reading this.
As soon as you say YES, your life will be changed.
This website has different helps to study with. You may want to look over the one that asks if you seek salvation. Good to know what it's all about.
He's coming back soon so don't wait too long to make a decision. He's alive. He's closer than you can imagine.
I pray with all my heart that you would find Jesus the same way I did.
Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
This is the chapter of Jesus after his baptism he fasted for 40 days and nights. Satan is out there tempting him.
Jesus is showing us WHO the tempter is: he uses lies, he offered to give kingdoms of the world to THE CREATOR of the world. Satan can only create chaosas we have seen in our American cities recently.
Also, Jesus is demonstrating TO US how to react to spiritual attacks on us, our loved ones. Ephesians 6, shows us how to fight back against spiritual warfare also.
Jesus wants us to learn this, AND teach it to other Christians. Jesus did not leave us here defenseless.
Like I did some time back: Follow Jesus through scripture and SEE how he does things; what he said, how he preached the Gospel. How he fought back at the demons and the religious people who had no knowledge of WHO Jesus is!
We're not just saved to sit around in wedding apparel. We have to have our Armor over it too. Be ready for anything.
At this time, Moses has died and Joshua has been anointed to lead. JUST AS the Red Sea was parted (opened so people could pass through without getting wet), When the Egyptians were trying to kill them when Moses was alive.
It has taken 40 years for the older (Egypt loving generation) to die. It was their unbelief that stayed in the desert with their burial places. As I've said often: God does not like MIXTURES. And I define that, as unbelief mixed with shaky faith; mixing godliness with worldliness.
The priests carrying the Ark of the Covenant pause in the middle of Jordan. The people pass by to the other bank. The 12 men pick up a stone and carry it on their shoulder for To build a monument on the other side. After the people pass through, the priests then bear the Ark to the other side.
I believe the statement "clean passed over" means that nobody's clothes or shoes got wet or muddy. The Mighty God held the water back; it says the water was standing vertical.
That's a miracle Hollywood missed I guess. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I believe the best is yet to come.
2. Concerning those who have died in Christ: I believe that the spirit & soul returns to God upon death; even as Paul longed for, "to be absent in the body is to be present with the Lord" ( 2 Cor 5:8). What the departed believers wear in Heaven is not revealed, though Paul refers to this somewhat in 2 Cor 5:1-4, when "our earthly tabernacle will be dissolved & we earnestly desire to be clothed upon with our house in Heaven" seems to refer to some type of covering or form.
I agree with you, that 1 Cor 15:50 ff aligns with the matter Paul was dealing with in verse 12, viz the resurrection of the dead. However, you state later: "The dead are not in a hole in the Ground, they are with the Father the moment they pass". Apologies, I'm confused by what you're saying here. Are you suggesting that at Jesus' Coming, that there will be no 'grave opening' for the remains of the dead saints to rise up (& go ahead of) the living saints? If so, then who are the "dead in Christ rising first" at the coming of Christ (v16)? I would think that in the normal reading of verses 16 & 17, we see three simultaneous events: Christ coming, the dead saints rising, & the living saints taken up after that. Eccl 12:7 only speaks of the spirit of man returning to God, but not of the resurrection. Maybe, I've misunderstood you altogether so will not proceed with this.
Then we have the debatable passages like Heb 6:4-6. I see the Hebrews writer speaking about a scenario of one who is saved then turns back to Legalism (i.e. to 'fall away' in this instance), having no chance to be 're-saved' because he would do despite to the Cross. Yet he says in v 9, that he is 'persuaded better things of them, things that accompany salvation'. So, looking at what the writer shows to us, it appears that he is not suggesting that there would be some there who could fall back into their old beliefs, but that to do so would mean no more grace for their salvation. So, why does he even suggest this matter? Likely, to show the finality & seriousness of Calvary's Work doesn't allow for hypocrisy & mistreatment, rather that all believers should 'work out their salvation with fear & trembling' ( Phil 2:12). Or, some 'believers' there may have appeared as genuine enjoying corporate blessings, but their return to that which kills, proves their insincerity & lack of a re-birth experience.
John, thanks for your comments. To answer your questions:
1. Yes, I do believe that one who has been truly born again IS eternally secure from the moment of receiving & indwelling of the Holy Spirit. There are many verses that speak of this but I would claim Ephesians chapter 1 as a portion of Scripture that encapsulates this Truth. Words such as: chosen (v4), predestinate (v5), accepted (v6), having redemption/forgiveness (v7), an inheritance (v11) & sealed (vv13,14). These are not attributes of any who are so-called 'believers' who can be lost at some later time in their lives - these are believers chosen & predestined to be God's own who will never/can never depart from this Holy relationship. They are kept safe & secure in His Love & nothing can pluck them out of His Hand ( Jn 10:27-29). I believe that the reason for differing points of view on this matter is because I understand that a believer is someone saved from the biblical perspective & not from man's. Man will say: "if a sinner repents & he is now saved by the Blood, therefore he is a believer": in other words, we would look at the Christian based on his testimony & even evidence of it - & that's far as we can see. However, the Bible regards the repentant, reborn sinner as one who has indeed received new birth from above & that new birth is non-negotiable just as a physical birth is ( cf Jn 3:4).
We are free to pray wherever we choose to, whether it's in public or not. But our motive behind praying in public should not be for people to see us, or as the Bible says, to be seen of men. If that is our motive for prayer, then we should not pray at that time. Plus, as Mishael says, there are places that's best not to be seen. School is a great example. It didn't use to be that way. In places like that, where society says I can't pray, I pray silently in my mind. I do that a lot. I can pray standing in line at a grocery store without anyone even knowing that I'm praying. They can't stop that.
