    Romans 10

    King James Bible Par

    The Word Brings Salvation

1Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. 2For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. 3For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. 4For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth

    Luke 11:52

"Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered."

You could be right but Jeremiah's 70 years was 70 years and not 25,550 days. It isn't always the case. I wouldn't make it a rule of thumb on every passage that says a day.

We know the one plague is before Jesus comes back and it says 5 months long. It is literally giving the number of months and we wouldn't add to that.

    God Bless.

    Jesse,

I agree with you, the phrase from ( 2Thessalonians 4:17) "shall (will) be caught up" is a translation of the Greek word "harpazo" (#726). The word "harpazo" is a derivative of the Greek word "haireomai" (#138) which is defined as to take for oneself, or to prefer; i.e., to choose.

You may have misunderstood what I said. As far as the KJV goes, the word "rapture" is not found. In fact, I am not aware of a Bible that does use the word. For the sake of all levels of Bible students, we should try to use Bible words whenever possible: Words that can be looked up in Bible Dictionaries.

Sadly, the word "rapture" is more than just semantics. It has become known as the "rapture doctrine."

We don't fly into the air in these flesh bodies to meet the Lord and Savior; we will spiritually all be changed BEFORE this particular meeting will take place ( 1 Corinthians 15:50-54).

The point of the initial statement was that this meeting between the Lord and His "chosen" ( 2 Thessalonians 2:13) will happen at the 7th Seal, and the 7th Trumpet, and the 7th Vial; and not any time before.

You don't want to be the first one taken! ( Matthew 24:40-41, Luke 17:34-36)

Jesse the argument is not whether or not the resurrection (rapture) will occur. It is the timing of the resurrection that is at issue here.

Pre tribbers almost never seem to use this scripture since it tells us when the timing of the resurrection is.

1 Corinthians 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the LAST TRUMP last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

The LAST TRUMP I know of is the 7th trump or trumpet at the end of the tribulation in the book of revelation.

There is no last trump prior to the tribulation.

Some try to deny trump and trumpet are different.

    Websters Dictionary 1828: TRUMP, noun

    1. A trumpet; a wind instrument of music; a poetical word used for trumpet. It is seldom used in prose, in common discourse; but is used in Scripture, where it seems peculiarly appropriate to the grandeur of the subject.

At the last trump; for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised. 1 Corinthians 15:52. 1 Thessalonians 4:16
  • Jesse - In Reply on 1 Kings 20 - 5 years ago
    John,

First of all, the rapture is taught in the Bible; it is just a matter of semantics. 1 Thessalonians 4:17 says concerning the rapture: Then we who are living and remaining shall be caught up together with them in the clouds for a meeting of the Lord in the air.

The phrase shall be caught up is translated from the Greek word HARPADZO, which means to be caught up, to be snatched, to be seized. The Latin translation of the same Greek word is RAPTUS, which is where we get the word rapture from. So whether you call it the rapture, or the HARPADZO, or say shall be caught up, it is all talking about the same thing.

Bible quiz pass or fail and if you get a zero ask yourself this.

Do we really understand the nature of the Lord?

    1. Does the Lord love everyone?

    2. Does the Lord deceive people for any reason?

    Scriptures only please

Most will likely fail this quiz.

    We are all sinners.

Influence the sinner with the words of God and good works.

    Lead by example.

    Jesus came for sinners.

well in 1 Corinthians 15:33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.

2 Corinthians 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

When you start doing what the Lord wants you to do you will find the unbelievers separate from you.

At least that was my experience.

Patience is the ability to wait upon God with the right attitude. So without faith it is impossible to have patience. Faith is the hand that reaches out to lay hold the grace of God.

    Origen (c. 244 AD):

Every soul that is born into flesh is soiled by the filth of wickedness and sin. And if it should seem necessary to do so, there may be added to the aforementioned considerations [referring to previous Scriptures cited that we all sin] the fact that in the Church, Baptism is given for the remission of sin; and according to the usage of the Church, Baptism is given even to infants. And indeed if there were nothing in infants which required a remission of sins and nothing in them pertinent to forgiveness, the grace of Baptism would seem superfluous. (Homilies on Leviticus 8:3)

The Church received from the Apostles the tradition of giving Baptism even to infants. For the Apostles, to whom were committed the secrets of divine mysteries, knew that there is in everyone the innate stains of sin, which must be washed away through water and the Spirit.

Cyprian of Carthage (c. 250 AD):

If, in the case of the worst sinners and of those who formerly sinned much against God, when afterwards they believe, the remission of their sins is granted and no one is held back from Baptism and grace, how much more, then, should an infant not be held back, who, having but recently been born, has done no sin [committed no personal sin], except that, born of the flesh according to Adam, he has contracted the contagion of that old Death from his first being born. (Letters 64:5 of Cyprian and his 66 colleagues in Council to Fidus)

    Page 1.

Here are some excerpts from these early Church fathers. Origen & Cyprian seemed to veer off in relation to baptism & infants.

    Irenaeus (c. (late) 100 AD):

Having become disobedient, [Eve] was made the cause of death for herself and for the whole human race; so also Mary, betrothed to a man but nevertheless still a virgin, being obedient, was made the cause of salvation for herself and for the whole human race. Thus, the knot of Eve's disobedience was loosed by the obedience of Mary. What the virgin Eve had bound in unbelief, the Virgin Mary loosed through faith. But this man [of whom I have been speaking] is Adam, if truth be told, the first-formed man. We, however, are all from him; and as we are from him, we have inherited his title [of sin]. Indeed, through the first Adam, we offended God by not observing His command. Through the second Adam, however, we are reconciled, and are made obedient even unto death. For we were debtors to none other except to Him, whose commandment we transgressed at the beginning. (Against Heresies 3:22:4; 3:23:2; 5:16:3)

    Tertullian (c. 200 AD)

Finally, in every instance of vexation, contempt, and abhorrence, you pronounce the name of Satan. He it is whom we call the angel of wickedness, the author of every error, the corrupter of the whole world, through whom Man was deceived in the very beginning so that he transgressed the command of God. On account of his transgression Man was given over to death; and the whole human race, which was infected by his seed, was made the transmitter of condemnation. (The Testimony of the Soul 3:2, c. 200 AD).

Every verse has some prophetic relations. My understanding to the verse is this. Moses is a prophet and he wrote it for the children of God in the last generation, ie to us. In Matthew 24:34 - our Lord Jesus says Verily l say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things fulfilled. Before that He in verse 32 tells a parable. Now, learn a parable of fig tree: When his branch is yet tender: and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:so likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near :even at the doors. Matthew 24:33. In these last days Israel reborn in 1948 May 14 and attained 70 year old in 2018. Fig tree is metaphor of Jewish nation.

i totally agree. John the Baptist came and was like unto Elijah but not the actual Elijah. It could be any two people for whom God chooses.

We support two preachers that occasionally go and preach in Jerusalem. They get kicked, spit on, lives threatened, threatened with imprisonment which would happen if we didn't send so much money over there. Nothing has changed over there. Anyhow, maybe they are the two. We just don't know.

One of the guys we support we just noticed recently went to about 15 major US Cities wearing sackloth calling America to repent. He has seen in vision Russian planes flying over America. Years ago Pastor David Wilkerson in 1973 gave a long 50 minute prophecy and just about everything came to pass now. One was US Cities burning. The church must repent first.

Many American Christians are doing wickedly-they help steal land from Christian Palestinians, and many are sending money to build a 3rd temple (enough has already been sent to build 7 temples) when God made an end of sacrifice in 30 AD and destroyed all attempts since in 70 AD and again in 363 AD with tornadoes, earthquakes and fire coming from beneath every time they tried to rebuild under Emperor Julians' command to go rebuild. The church has much to repent of that is blasphemy in the eyes of God so we WILL see judgment if things don't change. These are just a few of the sins no one wants to talk. There is a pretty high rate of woman in the church having abortions now. That was unheard of 30 years ago. We in the church shouldn't need an Elijah or Moses to bring us to repentance. WE should search our hearts regularly. Judgment begins at the house of God. We need to be praying about getting our own lives right INDIVIDUALLY. I say individually because we are seeing the great apostasy Jesus said would happen as one of the last signs already in the churches, Bible colleges, etc. Jerusalem is not going to be the only nation judged in the end ( Revelation 11); all nations will be judged.
