So true Adam. Our excuse would be that this type of 'ministry' (whether coffee or books) is justified as it's not being done 'in the sanctuary' but outside of it & for other people's convenience & for necessity sake. How will the Lord find His Church at His Coming.

Thanks for all that interesting, valuable information Robert. Most of us will never know these things until someone else who has researched into the state (condition) of present day Israel, informs us. Appreciate your time & knowledge on this.

You: "I believe there is a double fulfillment with many things in this chapter that we in our time will experience, one of those being preaching the gospel to the whole world."

This is probably where a lot of error & misunderstanding comes up: how to dissect correctly what has been fulfilled & what is yet to come. In our natural mind, we tend to read things as a developing story, & so what was prophesied to occur prior to & at the arrival/destruction by the Roman Army in AD70, then also speaks about a great tribulation, which no doubt meant great suffering to the Jews at that time (i.e. from Mt 24:20 to the change in v 21). And the thought of the great tribulation is continued from there to v31, which clearly hasn't happened in its fullest sense. So much speculation arises, different teaching, & sometimes a trail of confused believers as to what is actually going on here. I just have to accept that post Cross, there was & will always be much suffering from the hands of wicked men (spirit of anti-Christ), & we must simply believe that all the prophecies given must be fulfilled according to the declarations by God.

You: "I have evangelized many a Jew, and they hate the New Testament."

As I have done to a lesser extent than you, in ministry to Muslims in Pakistan, who likewise discount the whole Bible as 'filled with errors' in 'light of the revelation given by the Quran'. My approach has always been to begin on common ground (on which there is much) & even using the Quran to establish foundational truths, so that progress (= more light) can be made & seen. Of course, one's own knowledge has to be very good & the hearer must also be inclined to learn. Sadly, deficiency in both areas, prevents a meaningful discourse taking place.

Literally scrolls found in caves in Israel in 1946 and later. What's significant about it is it proves the authenticity of the Bible. Because people claimed that with a couple thousand years passing that it must've been inaccurate, so when they found these scrolls dated that old sitting there for a couple thousand years then compared it to the existing scriptures and found it to match identically, then yes, it debunked the critics accusations who were trying to discredit the Bible.

Hi Roger, doing sales and marketing and cheating in a church was what made Jesus more angry than any other time recorded in the Bible. So, it's a big deal and in my opinion church leaders who choose to charge $ for coffee, books, shirts, concerts, and have ATMs in the church will be dealt with severely. It is a severe lack of judgment on their part to do the one thing that made Jesus so angry in the Bible. The audacity for someone to do exactly what Jesus hated and didn't want is like slapping Him in the face, in my opinion. But today you will find thousands of churches doing exactly that. Satan even works among the churches to deceive Christians.

I'm asking for myself. I was admitted to the hospital on Monday because my water broke. Today I'm only 33wks pregnant. If I don't go into labor before next Friday the plan is to induce me then at 34wks. I know it's selfish to want to go home with my son when I go but without a miracle there's no chance. It's rare mothers are so fortunate. I know God's timing is not our own and in recent weeks He has reminded me of this. From the beginning his hand has been in this pregnancy. 1 Samuel 1:7 For this child I have prayed. My husband and I prayed for a boy. Now our precious Samuel David needs prayer. To be healthy with no lasting effects of being a preemie and God willing he will prove his readiness to come home! The emotional strain is very hard on both my husband and I. He's not able to stay with me because 1. We have 3 other children at home 2. It's over an hour drive one way to the hospital. The toll on us all is mountainous. Only added to for me because I won't be able to stay with my son around the clock until he can home unless he proves he's ready from the start. Them I will be driving back and forth whole my husband returns to work. There are just so many details and things to say.

are those who are left behind have the opportunity to get saved during the tribulation?
  • Paul on Genesis 8 - 5 years ago
Our Lord often referred to Himself as the Son of Man.

Our Lord is the Son of Man because He was born.

And by one man who was not born by this man's disobedience we all die.

But by one Man who was born by this Man's righteousness death was overcome.

    Consider the greatness of Adam.

    Adam was not born.

Adam is not the Son of Man.

Adam is a son of God.

And Adam having not been born is greater than us all.

Thus Adam chosen that in Adam we all die and in Adam we are all on probation with God upon the condition of repentance.

But consider our Lord Jesus Christ who like all of us was born.

Only Christ was born in righteousness and having no disobedience even unto the suffering of the cross by which He partook of that bitter cup the unborn man Adam could not bear and brought us the better even the first resurrection.

For Jesus Christ is greater than Adam.

Jesus Christ is the greatest of all.

If Jesus says not to buy or sell in your house of worship then why do most or a lot of churches do and will be judged for braking one of God's law if they keep doing it and don't asked to be forgiving.

Not trying to be disrespectful: I think Adam was busy naming animals and plants and left Eve alone too much. Enough time to contemplate "what happens if I eat this". She had encouragement from The Deceiver.

Adam and Eve were the first marriage. We're to be equally yoked; as a team of horses pulling a cart. That's why they used to say "getting hitched".

As a team, they both suffered loss for the breakdown of Communication!

Adam as the head of the family was supposed to lead Eve into rightness and obedience.

If our "conscience" ACCUSES us after we've already repented and asked for forgiveness; then your Accuser is Satan. His mission to steal, kill and destroy. That voice that accuses is, is spiritual warfare. Ephesians 6

You need every piece to protect your self.

Have you read Luke 15, about the Prodigal son (or daughter)? If that describes your experience, then you are forgiven and may now turn and freely embrace Gods Love and forgiveness. He saw you coming back home to Him, way before you did.

You are hidden in His hand and he's not going to let you slip away. The robe the prodigals father put on him, is the robe of righteousness (you have right standing with God again). The adornments are Gods favor which had never left you; no matter what you did.

It's the willful repeated backsliding that burns holes in our conscience. If you stop feeling that conviction, it is Much Harder to return to the Father who loves you perfectly.

That nagging you feel is The Holy Spirit at work in your conscience to help you Will to return to right standing. Cling to Him with all of your strength.

We mess up daily (even me :), which is why we run to 1 John 1:9, to confess those things and be forgiven. A psalm says that the Lords Mercies are new and refreshed towards us every morning! We can start our days thanking and praising Him for that.

Our forever home is in heaven. We're not to love this world system that is going to pass away. We begin living our lives for heaven now. Do the right things. ALL of heaven is on your team cheering you over the finish line!

If you sin you have an Advocate with the Father. Jesus. If satan accuses you in court, God hears the case. Your Advocate (attorney) checks The Lambs Book of Life for YOUR name. It is; and the case is dismissed for lack of evidence; be cause all of your sins are covered by The Blood of Jesus!!

Reverence this knowledge. Keep it close.

Pray & Praise daily, the Lord of Glory.
  • Tara - In Reply on Matthew 24:9 - 5 years ago
It is easy to know where your soul will spend eternity. If you proclaim the blood of Jesus , ask him to forgive you of your sins and to come live your heart. Trust he is the one true savior, that by his shed blood on that cross in Calvary and forgiveness only can you be saved.

If you do not trust Him as your savior your soul will spend eternity in hell.

I pray you do ask for his gift of salvation and find comfort in His grace.

Speaking on the will of God...having faith, studying His word, meditating on His word. You will know His will because Hebrews 8:10 says......I will put my laws into their mind, and write them on their heart: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people He has given us the tools necessary to live accordingly. Be Blessed

I would sincerely like to thank each one of you for taking the time to provide insight and help in further understanding. I truly can feel God's love and encouragement through your responses! Thank you for the bible verses that correlate directly with the word of God to provide answers. I genuinely am appreciative from my heart and soul. It's time I devote myself further to God and begin "fighting" the "good fight." It is time I proclaim my love for God to my friends who don't believe and to put those aside who have no faith in our Lord and Saviour. (I will pray for the encouragement and word from God to later speak to them as an invitation to receive God's love and blessings.) After posting my questions last night I prayed and spoke to God. I then read some forums and verses that fit perfectly into this topic. I was overcome with peace and the desire to serve the Lord stronger through his commandments. There are things in my home to get rid of such as certain spiritual books, movies, music, art etc and I understand the reasoning to rid my life of those things. I have had a very difficult life. I believe there may be the possibility of a generational curse upon my family.(Boy could I talk about this in depth.) With that said it only makes me want to work Harder to follow the word of God. Also, in regards to a difficult life I blame noone but myself for living a life of the flesh. I feel more hope today. More faith. I feel that even though it seems the world doesn't care about me that through your comments I have been uplifted and today feel a bit renewed, if in anyway, through focus and intention.

Again, thank you sincerely to each person for taking the time to respond! I want you to know that it helped in many ways! Please pray for me and also for my dog who is showing illness. My dog and faith in God are the reasons I am alive today.

God Bless each of you! Thank You

Hello, you're on the right book and chapter. You can see Ex 20:3,4,7 lists the first 3 commandments which occur before keeping the Sabbath. So, you can read it clearly in the chapter and it should answer your question about the order.
  • Conchita on Exodus 20:25 - 5 years ago
I was raised in the RC tradition, and taught that the 4th Commandment is "Honor thy father and thy mother." Why, in this Bible trivia, is the 4th Commandment "Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy?" In the RC tradition, that is the 3rd Commandment. I compared this chapter of the King James version, with the Douay Rheims version, and, both versions seem to state the 4th Commandment as I was taught. I am confused. Please clarify this for me. I was taught the Commandments as follows:

    1. I am the LORD thy God, thou shalt not have strange gods before me.

    2. Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD, thy God in vain.

    3. Remember thou keep holy the sabbath day.

    4. Honor thy father and thy mother.

    5. Thou shalt not kill.

    6. Thou shalt not steel.

    7. Thou shalt not commit adultery.

    8. Thou shalt not bear false witness of thy neighbor.

    9. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbors wife.

    10. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbors goods.

Genesis 1:20 KJV And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.

The waters in verse 20 speak of the living waters of the Spirit that bring forth abundantly the moving creature that has life.

This speaks of the joy that comes abundantly after the hearing of the Word of God as spoken in the living waters of the Spirit.

Many will receive the Word with joy. The "moving creature" = "sherets" (swarm) which comes from "sharats" which means "to wriggle". To "wriggle" means "twist and turn with quick writhing movements." We "dance" so to speak with joy within our hearts after the hearing of His Word spoken from Heaven in the Spirit...the living waters.

Abundant joy comes. Our mourning turns into "dancing" (Hebrew: machol which comes from "chuwl" which means "to twist or whirl (in a circular or spiral manner)". Many will "wriggle" with joy.

    Psalms 30:11 Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness;

The "fowls" that fly above the earth are our words of praise and thanksgiving to Him above when we hear His knowledge as spoken in our opened hearing of Heaven (in the open firmament of Heaven).

We sing praise unto Him as birds/words of praise "fly" above the earth.

    (12) To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever.

In the hearing of His Word of Truththe living River of the Spirit of God, everything that lives and moves. that is, rejoices shall live. Their souls shall live as they rejoice.

Ezekiel 47:9 And it shall come to pass, that every thing that liveth, which moveth, whithersoever the rivers shall come, shall live: and there shall be a very great multitude of fish, because these waters shall come thither: for they shall be healed; and every thing shall live whither the river cometh.

verse 20, the way it is described in the commentary says God condemns us if our heart does, I always thought that is meant, the opposite. I have a hard time forgiving myself for backsliding for so long staying away from our Lord and sinning for years knowing it was wrong as i did it but i have since repented and turn completely away from my former live but still struggle with the past. I though this scripture meant that even though my heart condemns me God is greater than my heart and knows all things and knows i've repented and has forgiven me. Self -condemnation is a horrible way to live no joy, no peace but i used to take comfort in that scripture knowing that God had not condemned me even tho my heart does. I've not found a timetable for how long a backslider has before he has no chance to come back, and if I am an apostate why am I under such conviction? I'm in that place where I cannot move stuck in the most miserable of places, am i not accepting forgiveness or can i not get it anymore?
