    Mode-2

    Min-Max mode (2 of 2)

The Parable of the city on a hill is about Zion. (Matt.5:14). The idea of Zion as a sign is cited in the epistle to the Hebrews and it is with reference Isaiah. "Behold, I and the children whom the Lord hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the Lord of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion." (Is. 8:18). This leads us to consider what makes up Zion. "And of Zion it shall be said, This and that man was born in her: and the highest himself shall establish her./ The Lord shall count, when he writeth up the people, that this man was born there."(Ps.87:5-6) They were signs and wonders precisely for the reason that God blessed them, "with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ"! (Ep.1:3)

In the case of Isaiah it was necessary for the prophet to bring up the witnesses to solemnly name the birth of two sons as a commentary of Israel's fall and God's judgment. With the first son it was decided for him, "Then said the Lord to me, Call his name Mahershalalhashbaz./For before the child shall have knowledge to cry, My father, and my mother, the riches of Damascus and the spoil of Samaria shall be taken away before the king of Assyria." (Is.8:3-4). This happened as was predicted.

As for the name of the second, the name Sherajashub signified 'a remnant shall return' and fulfilment is reserved for the end times. "And it shall come to pass in that day, that the remnant of Israel, and such as are escaped of the house of Jacob, ... but shall stay upon the Lord, the Holy One of Israel in truth."(Is.10:20 ). God had determined the survival and conversion of a faithful remnant in Israel. The mode of Min-Max is, however, an extra-Biblical term.

    Mode-2 (1 of 2)

    Min-Max Mode

The eternal Word is the constitution of the kingdom of God. Jesus Christ as His visible image is the Word become flesh. So God sent his servants from time to time to deliver messages of his Advent. We shall compare two such messages. "Behold upon the mountains the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace!"(Na.1: 15). Here the prophet is speaking of Judah specifically. We have in Isaiah a similar quote but it extends its significance from what Nahum has delivered. Isaiah predicts, "How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!" (Is.57: 7)

The point is that prophecies given to man is specific as well as universal in keeping with the Min-Max mode of narrative. The burden is not merely with regards to places,- Nineveh, Babylon or Jerusalem are interchangeable, but it stands in context of Zion which is founded in heaven!

In order to keep such a narrative tight-knit the Spirit tags such piecemeal prophesies with symbols. Mountain is a tag for instance.

These two prophecies are with direct reference to Jesus Christ the prince of peace. So when St. Mathew writes the Gospel he sets the Beatitudes against the backdrop of a mountain. ("And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, "Matt.5:1)

    Mode -1

Core Will of God has several modes by which the pre-eminence of the Word is presented. 'The Word was God' places the Scripture based on the Law. This Law may be expressed on stone tables and on fleshy tables of the heart. Thus the logos aspect of the Son permeates the kingdom of God. How the Holy Ghost the third office in Trinity has chosen to present the Lord God is from the Father Son relationship. So Jesus Christ as the Apostle of God says, "And call no man your father on earth, for you have one Father, who is in heaven."(Matt.23:9-ESV) the Spirit places the position of Jesus Christ as 'the Son over his own house' as self-evident. "That in all things he might have the pre-eminence./ For it pleased the Father that in him should all fullness dwell."(Col.1:18-19). This fullness covers names of places, persons and events within direct frame of reference to Jesus Christ. St Paul refers to it, "All things were created by him, and for him:/And he is before all things, and by him all things consist."(Col.1:16-17). This being the cases all other laws are pendent on the Law. Moses as a servant gave the Law to Israel which we know was a mode.

    Time

    Time

Time is a sign. It is in this sense we have the Spirit tells specifically of its purpose under the heaven. "And a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die (Ec.3:1-6)". God's covenant with Noah is similarly pendent on the decree that He made with his Son, and it has to do with the day (Ps.2:7). (See entry under D-Day)

Time is of no consequence to eternal God. So we have time reconstituted to apply the role of the Son of man as the Word made flesh. St Peter provides us a clue to it in 2 Pe.3:8.

"I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.( John 9:4)." His call 'follow me' applies to the day in which the Preacher sets out a whole range of work any man who would follow the way the Son may do.

"Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him (Ps.2:12)."

Noah walked with God and he did according to the instruction. So how long he took to build the ark is left out by the Spirit for a reason. The Spirit instruct us to abide in God a Spirit so our volume carries our earthly circumstance, time subsumed into the will of God. When you received the Son,, you are part of the body of Christ as the ark of Noah and the man symbolically became one.

Covenant of heaven with the earth has thus a time marked by the Spirit where number has specific significance in the same manner a bow in heaven would signify.

    Hello Rad

My belief (and I do believe that I rely on the written Word of God) is:

One may divorce his/her wife/husband because of adultery as seen in Matthew 5:31-32. God does not demand people to stay with someone who is not faithful to them.

    BUT

They can not remarry again as seen in 1 Corinthians 7:10-11:

"10 And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband:

11 But and if she depart(AND THAT IS ONLY ALLOWED BECAUSE OF ADULTERY), let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife."

Also see 1 Cor 7:39, "39 "The wife is bound by the law as long as her husband liveth; but if her husband be dead, she is at liberty to be married to whom she will; only in the Lord.

So as a conclusion a man can divorce his wife ONLY if she has committed adultery, BUT afterwards he must accept that he must stay unmarried for his whole lifetime OR until his wife dies. Then he is free to remarry any woman he wishes. The alternative way is to forgive his wife and stay with her. The same is valid for a woman. So your girl friend if she marries that man, then they will both find themselves in a sinful situation.

Dear Jimbob , I don't watch anything on the internet , sorry :) I believe the KJV to be a far superior translation of the Bible than any other and I believe that God's Holy Spirit helps us to understand it . I love your zeal ! :) Stay strong in the Truth.

We all have and read the Bible , sadly ,even though we have this same unchanging resource , we often disagree regarding the meaning of some of it . Imagine how confused and argumentative we would all be if we didn't have the Bible ! Even moreso than we are now ! :O

Imagine if the whole world relied on its own individual heart ( we all know what Jeremiah had to say about hearts ! ) to imagine what God was and how we could draw close to Him ? God has revealed Himself to us humans many times , any one who has read the Bible knows this . How well did it go ? How well behaved were the Israelites in the desert , when they had the pillar of cloud and the pillar of fire guiding them through and protecting them from the desert ? How well did we humans treat the Son of God , when he was here in person and was seen to do the most awesome miracles that ' no man could do except God be with him ' ? Yes , of course God can speak to any of us in any way He chooses , He is God , He can do any and every thing . He has chosen to provide a written account of His previous dealings with us , He has been extremely kind and merciful to us in doing this great thing for our benefit . Why doesn't He reveal Himself more openly to us and to the world ? Firstly , that's His business , secondly He does , if we have eyes to see Him we can , but not the unbelievers , not yet . The unbelievers will get their chance if they are still alive when Christ returns . Thirdly , what does God want from us ? FAITH . What is faith and why is it so important and why does God want us to have it ? I know I'm talking to Bible readers so I know you know the answers to those questions , just in case... Hebrews Ch 11 V 6 and Hebrews Ch 11 V 1 and John Ch 20 V 29-31 . I don't have faith in myself or my own heart or my own imagination , I have faith in God and in Jesus and I learnt about them from the Bible and I'm still learning . Love to you all in Christ .

No , if his wife commited adultery against him then he is free to divorce her and re marry . He can marry a lady who has never been married , or a widow , or a divorced lady if her previous husband commited adultery against her .

Dear Daruled , may I ask ? If you don't need the Bible any more , why do you visit this Bible site ? And instead of berating those of us who do still need it , why don't you enlighten us , in a friendly Christian manner , to the things that you have learned about God by direct revelation through His Holy Spirit ? We would be very interested . Just because we still want , need and enjoy the Bible , does that annoy you ? If it does , why does it ?
  • Jema - In Reply - 1 year ago
Amen to you . Why did God preserve His Word ? Was it not for our benefit ? As a means by which we humans might learn of Him and His Son and draw closer to them ? How do any of us know anything about Our Heavenly Father ? Through His Word of course ! God's Holy Spirit helps us to understand His Word the Bible . God thinks of everything , nothing that He provided is extraenious or insignificant .

Significance of numbers in the Bible-1

    Numbers, Command

The Spirit in organizing the narrative of the Scripture uses numbers in a manner different from its normal use. Tags are different from command number. In the vision of The Woman Clothed with the Sun , the red dragon has ten horns which is a command number to indicate judgment as in the Decalogue. The Spirit indicates that the dragon has been already under judgment. (Re.12:4). The number 10 refers as a tag as in the measurement: an omer is one tenth of an ephah (Ex.16:36). To indicate man's life multiples of 10 serve as tag. Similarly the Spirit intends a generation by 10x10 or 10x100 or 10x1000 to indicate end times. For example in the matter of gospel the command number is 12. Multiples of 12 in the upper room before the day of Pentecost held 120(1210) in number. On Mount Sion the number of first fruits are counted, 144,000. "And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads (Re.14:1)". Number 144,000 is a command number meaning the divine Will with regards to what constitutes first fruits (12x12x1000).

Forty days indicate time imposed on man in preparation for fulfilling divine Will. "Moses was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights without eating bread or drinking water. And he wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant-the Ten Commandments (Ex.34:28-NIV). On the other end Jesus Christ was seen after resurrection for forty day before he ascended to the heavens.(Ac.1:3)

'And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us ( John 1:14). This testimony is number 4. Number 4 has significance in terms of the world that is set on four cardinal directions. (Re.7:1) Salvation is thus in terms of four gospels and the judgement aspect as in the vision of the four carpenters, - Ze.1:20.

    Parable of Jotham (Jud.9:6-21)

In true sense this belongs to the genre of fables but Jotham presents a universal truth. Especially it is relevant for our times.

Abimelech is a bramble but his base, all vain and shallow shall never produce worthwhile fruits. "Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?(Matt.7:16)". They may go by fancy names and like the one spearheaded by Theudas, their movements are doomed to fail. Now Jotham asks, "And the bramble said unto the trees, If in truth ye anoint me king over you, then come and put your trust in my shadow: and if not, let fire come out of the bramble, and devour the cedars of Lebanon." Such brambles are foisted upon nations, which owe to a proxy war between nations of saints in light and of children of disobedience. 'What concord has Christ with Belial?"

"Thus God rendered the wickedness of Abimelech, which he did unto his father, in slaying his seventy brethren:./ And all the evil of the men of Shechem did God render upon their heads: and upon them came the curse of Jotham the son of Jerubbaal.(vv.56-57)"

    Overshadow

The Greek word Episkiaz basically refers to a cloud casting a shadow over a surface. The Holy Ghost presents God in terms of the clouds. They are His chariot, which explains His Omnipresence. His omnipotence assures the word going forth from His mouth shall never return to him in void. (Is.55:11; Ps.104:3). Glory of the light of knowledge in the face of Jesus Christ to which St Paul alludes in this verse was heard when Jesus stepped out of the River Jordan.(Matt.3:17). It was there on the mount of transfiguration. "For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ."(2 Co.4:6) underpins the role of the indwelling Spirit. The Spirit serves the light from the Father of light from the creation accounts to instruct us from the glorious gospel of the Son. It is Person specific as the Spirit of Christ is a characteristic of God, a Spirit.

" Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them./ There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one."(Ac.5:15-16) In these healing it was not Peter who healed but the glory of God overshadowing them.

    Numbers-3

    Forty years

The Son, 'whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;/ Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power' has the command number 3. He is set as the double for earthly kings. For example we have this verse "In Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months: and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty and three years over all Israel and Judah( 2 Sa.5:5)".David tagged by 7 is to inform the testimony of God that he is 'after myown heart.'. The number is a compound number (4+3). The total 40 years carry the tag as to where the action takes place.

In the vision of the Woman Clothed With The Sun the red dragon the Spirit helps us to make sense 'And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads (Re.12:3)". Satan is a Fallen Angel and he has another name, prince of the power of the air who works even now in the children of disobedience (Ep.2:2)." Number 7 is a compound number. Seven heads is commanded by number 7 to signify wickedness through and through. Most vital clue is number 10 indicating his power (horn) is already judged. Judgment of God has number 10.

On the other hand in the following chapter the beast is introduced whose authority id from the red dragon." a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy(Re.13:1). The 10 horns indicate his power is as though absolute, which go for his authority over the unsaved is complete. But he is also judged by the number 10.

    Numbers-2

The name of the Father is holiness of the Gospel, which is one. (One Lord , one faith-Ep.4:5).

The Son has a command number, which is Three. The Word made flesh makes his command number Four.

The Number Five is with respect the Son and all souls given "As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him."( John 17:2) The principle of Association is applied to man in terms of his earthly circumstances. Thus his ox is counted as five. For this reason in the Law we have God commanding Moses, "If a man shall steal an ox, or a sheep, and kill it, or sell it; he shall restore five oxen for an ox, and four sheep for a sheep".(Ex.22:1)

    Number Five

What does the Jubilee (5x10) signify? The land belongs to God and the glory of the land is in harmony with the glory of the Son as heir to all things. With the jubilee year the land is to be left fallow. This rest signified rest that is promised to saints redeemed from earth.

In the Parable of the Five Wise virgins and Five Foolish virgins where the command number is Ten, indicating the Will of God. (Matt.25:1-13)

The virgins were redeemed from the world and they would have died to sin with taking baptism by water. They were to do the perfect will of God, which was their reasonable service. The Foolish five did no further in walking closer to the Lord. On the other hand the Five Wise virgins redeeming the times were evil did all to be kept from the ungodly ways. In short they followed the prompting of the indwelling Spirit.

    Oseas,

Wow, I say that God is MORE than just a book, that the holy bible points to God, it doesn't define God (if you can't understand this Revelation then I worry for you). Then, I say that God ISN'T limited by a translation or book. Finally, I say that God The Holy Spirit puts His law in our heart NOT a book so that we are doers of the law NOT merely hearers of the law.

And then you say that my perspective is worldly?!! Just, WOW.

Oseas, you can quote to me everything in the holy bible but the Fact that you don't understand what I'm saying is evidence that the enemy has deceived you! I'm a very BLESSED man who Sees The Sunrise, and you are a blind man rebuking me for describing what I See, then you go on describing a sunrise that was described to you but have Never seen. So, when I tell you that what you are describing barely scratches the surface of THE TRUTH, you rebuke me for my sight, as I struggle (and fail) to NOT rebuke you for your blindness. Here's the thing about blindness;I would be remiss if I rebuked a blind man for his blindness, yet it's my Duty as a man of God to Rebuke a person who is blind because they refuse to open their eyes.

The Word is GOD, GOD the Father, two thousand years ago the Word -GOD- was made flesh, and the NAME He chose for He Himself was JESUS( John 1:18).

Hebrews 1:2-3:- 2 In these last days (last two days) GOD has spoken unto us by His Son,whom He hath appointed heir of all things,by whom also He made the worlds; 3 Who being the brightness of His Glory, and the EXPRESS IMAGE OF GOD's PERSON -the Word-...He sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high.

1 John 5:7 - There are THREE that (TESTIFY)bear record in heaven, the Father(the Person of GOD the Father-the Word),the Word (GOD Son-the Word made flesh-JESUS),and the Holy Spirit-the Paraclete, the Confort- John 16:12-15 combined with Jn 15:26 (who is not a ghost as is written in English language, but a Person, actually the Ancient of Days- Daniel 7:22, and the God of the earth- Revelation 11:4):these three are One.

By the way, Judgment was(will be) given to the saints of the most High;the time came that the saints possessed(will posses)the kingdom-Dan.7:22-(in LITERAL fulfillment of Rev.11:15to18.Take a look.)

Unfortunatelly, Your thinking is from a human perspective,a stumblingblock, not from GOD's perspective.Who is of the earth is earthly, and speaks of the earth- John 3:31-who is from above is above all.

JESUS said:He that believeth on me,as the Scriptures-the Bible- hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water- Jn 7:38.And more:Search the Scriptures(the Bible);for in them ye think ye have Eternal Life:and they are they which testify of me- Jn 5:39.

JESUS said to the Devil:Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the MOUTH of GOD-Mat.4:4. By the way,GOD who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,Hath in these last days(last two Days or two millenia)spoken unto us by His Son,whom He has appointed heir of all things,by whom also he made the worlds-Heb.1:1-3

    Be careful or get ready

    The Word is GOD,self-executing

JESUS said:He that believeth on me,as the Scriptures-the Bible- hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water- John 7:38. And more:Search the Scriptures(the Bible);for in them ye think ye have Eternal Life:and they are they which testify of me- John 5:39.JESUS also says unto every man that hears the words of the prophecy of this book(of the Bible),If any man shall add unto these things,GOD shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:if any shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy,GOD shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book(of the Bible)

Here is "Ancient Christian Commentary Series" on this verse from church ancients... Origen, Augustine, Bede.

5:16 Mortal and Nonmortal Sins SOME SINS ARE UNTO DEATH. ORIGEN: Since there are sins "unto death," it follows that anyone who commits one of them will die as a result. SERMONS ON LEVITICUS

SELF-CONTRADICTORY TO PRAY THAT SOME SIN BE FORGIVEN. AUGUSTINE: Even though the Lord commands us to pray for our very persecutors, this passage clearly shows that there are some brothers for whom we are not commanded to pray. We therefore must acknowledge that there are some sins among the brothers which are worse than persecution by enemies. I think that the sin of a brother is unto death when anyone who has attained a knowledge of God through the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ opposes the brotherhood and is aroused by the fires of envy against that very grace by which he was reconciled to God. COMMENTARY ON THE SERMON ON THE MOUNT

BEDE:672-735ad These are things which are asked for according to God's will, because they are part of what it means to love our brothers. John is talking here about trivial, everyday sins which are hard to avoid but which are easy to put right. The question of what constitutes a mortal sin is very difficult, and it is hard to accept that there are people whom John tells us not to pray for, when our Lord tells us that we should pray for those who persecute us. The only answer to this is that there must be sins committed within the fellowship of the brothers which are even more serious than persecution from outside enemies. Mortal sin therefore occurs when a brother opposes the fellowship after he has come to acknowledge God by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ given to him and when he starts to fight against that grace, by which he has been reconciled to God, with the weapons of hatred. A nonmortal sin is one which does not infringe on brotherly love but merely fails to show it adequately because of some weakness of the mind. ON 1 JOHN.

    Jim,

None of what you said truly addresses what I wrote, that is, you ignored the "meat" of what I said! Quick recap: the holy bible is not God, God isn't limited by anything least of all a translation or a book, God The Holy Spirit engrafts His Law in our heart not a book. I could go on but you didn't address the things that mentioned so I'll stop there. I understand why the apostles wrote things down,( see, I'm addressing your statements),it was to "make" God "accessible" to people not chosen (by God) to "Hear" The Holy Spirit. I also understand that the holy bible, along with scripture and translations, are like crutches for people who are learning to walk; crutches are needful and helpful for those unable to "walk" on there own. But, and hear me out, if someone has God in their heart there is no need for a "crutch"! There is MUCH more I would love to say but unless one has a certain Understanding about Who God and what He actually accomplishes to say more is hurtful; I fear that even what I already said is unhelpful.

Thank you, Giannis for your reply.

1 John 3:4 (KJV) 4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

Just in my humble opinion, I feel the Holy Spirit moved the translator to render it "law" in the KJV.

As you stated "There were always oral commandments given by God to His people. Even in the garden of Eden, the commandment(Law) was not to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and the evil." As I suspected, to put it another way, the law may have been referencing the "law" in God's heart.

Using your same logic if God can make a donkey talk then he can surely preserve his Holy Words and He did so in all the prior bible versions that lead up to the creation of the King James Version bible. ;-)

The King James Version ER (Easy Read) is also good but no longer in print. :(

The Apostles were writing this stuff down for a reason. They wrote letters to the churches for a reason and demanded they be read to the entire church. Sure initially it was verbal but with time these Epistles of the NT were collected and canonized in part to stop the ton of forgeries circulating claiming to be from Paul and Peter. So "babes" in Christ could know for sure what was legit and what wasn't.

We are in a spiritual battle and Satan was busy creating chaos before the canonization of the bible and continued even after. He used the likes of Westcott and Hort to sow his leaven into the future bible perversions.

Here we are 2000 years later... Not having it written down was not practical.

The exact translation of John 3:4 from grk:

Pas(Everyone) o poion(who is doing) ten amartian(the sin) kai ten anomian(and the lawlessness) poiei(is doing), kai e amartia (and the sin) einai e anomia (is the lawlessness).

And you are right about the verb "poieo", in this specific verse it has the meaning of a continual behavior, expressed by the present continuous tense, as you said.

About the Law. Before it was given a written Law to Moses, there were always oral commandments given by God to His people. Even in the garden of Eden the commandment(Law) was not to eat from the tree of knowledge the good and the evil. Breaking God's commandments oral or written was always a sin. But the right and complete Law(commandments) that reflect God's character (what God does really consider right) were given to us by Jesus Christ in His teachings and subsequently written down in the Bible by His disciples and hence preserved for all people of all ages.
