An infidel indeed, Sometimes that head is a teacher/pastor who is so engulfed in the church they forget about home. Can we say they are so busy taking care of Gods bride they forget their own...
For those out there who are Bible quoting Christians professing the gospel that don't live it. James3:1 says you will be held at even a higher strictness.
Can we explore James 3:1 please?
The way women dress is particularly emphasized in many groups. My aunt, for example, was told to leave the church because she cut and colored her hair. Some say it is a must to observe the Sabbath, but all they do is have their Sunday Service on Saturday. They don't really observe all the rules attached to keeping the Sabbath. They can't. Others claim you must not eat meat, drink coffee, beer, or smoke. Mormons won't even drink Coca Cola. I could never be a Mormon just based on that one rule. Others won't accept gays in their congregations, but will allow adulterers and hypocrites to preach a Sunday sermon or lead the Choir. This, by the way, is not a list of complaints. They are just my observations.
My message is that we tend to focus on the petty and inconsequential and miss the real meaty stuff. So what should we be focused on? The Gospel. Joy, not reprisal. Appreciation of others, in spite of their shortcomings. And the fact that we must prepare for the End Times. Are most Christians prepared for persecution? What will we do when churches are forced to close? Or when we have to meet in secret? And when killing Christians becomes the norm? When we can't shop? Are we prepared? Jesus warned us in Matt25. Be prepared. Will the AntiChrist be the Muslim Mehdi?
Note: This SAVIOR /CHRIST the LORD is born and HE shall establish SALVATION for all of us /mankind. Through CHRIST (see John 3:16-21) the opportunity to be SAVED is made available to all, thereby we can rightly return to JEHOVAH /GOD and avoid Revelation 20:15.
I John 2:3,4 "And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him." ! John 5: 2,3 "By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments; and his commandments are not grievous". Roman 7: 7 "What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid, Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not know lust, except the law had said,Thou shalt not covet." The ten commandments is our "map" to salvation. It is God's character. It is only through the blood of Jesus Christ that we can be saved.
We cook and clean house and do nice things for our family and friends. Why? We love them and want to please them. If we love Jesus we should want to please him. We have to have a one on one relationship with Him. Jesus should be the center of our life. He is love. Jesus said, if you love me keep my commandments.
May the Holy Spirit be with you as you study God's word.
It was PROPHESY. It all happened as the Godhead Wrote it. Through Jesus's suffering He set the new Covenant in motion until the mystery be completed: until the fullness of the Gentiles.
Rom. 11:11 ...have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather..through their fall...salvation is come unto the Gentiles (WHY?) for to provoke them (the JEWS) to jealousy.
For if the casting away from them be THE RECONCILING of the WORLD...what shall be the the RECEIVING of them be...but life from the dead?
Verse 26: And so ALL Israel SHALL BE SAVED
Verse 27: For this is MY COVENANT unto them (Israel) , WHEN I shall take away their sins.
Verse 28: As concerning the gospel (birth, life, death, resurrection of Jesus) They are enemies (now) FOR YOUR SAKES (us).
BUT as touching the election, they are BELOVED for the fathers sakes (plural) Deuteronomy 9:5.
They're OUT now and we are IN. God did that all by Himself. Didn't need any of us to debate the soundness of His Decision. Why indeed should any of us Gentiles shed a tear for 6 million Jews who were murdered? Well, they were on the outs so it's ok?
Is there anybody who will stop a minute and pray a prayer God asked us to do?
Psalm 122:6, 121:4, 125:5
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem (not a suggestion)
God is not willing that any of us perish but that we'd all come to repentance: which means to turn around and walk away from what's holding us back. Backsliding simply means to stand still and go nowhere.
Forgive me for saying this, but there are people coming in here who need help.
TITUS 3:9 But avoid foolish questions, genealogies, and contentions and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.
God show us your heart always, and to esteem others with meekness and friendship.
You need to stay in 1 Corinthians chapter 7; read it slow; take some notes to keep it straight.
My comment is that children suffer the MOST when parents get their relationships in a knot.
Genesis 2:23-24 is the first marriage in creation. It's supposed to be a covenant. The two become one.
God barely tolerates divorce; only for adultery. If I understood right you have left the wife of your youth? Do you have children with her?
My best advise is to go to a Christian pastor or counselor, with your legal wife and try to see if you have enough between you to continue.
The 2nd woman, unfortunately, doesn't get to participate in the counseling.
Try to consider three people who are being harmed by this. I know if you ask the Lord to help you set it right, He will help you.
Spend a little time in 1 Corinthians 13, the love chapter. My Bible says charity which is the same word, love. Don't walk away from God over this. God is Love. Walk toward Him.
Well, I can't see that he ever converted in the first place (but God is his Judge & sees the condition of his heart, not me). So whatever he decides to do will be sin & until he comes to the foot of the Cross in true conviction of his many sins, there is no salvation for him. So your question: what should he do? Well, salvation through Jesus is his only hope & he stays with his second wife, without adding sin upon sin, but if he wants to maintain this lifestyle of having multiple wives (as God doesn't recognize divorce), then he is free to do whatever he wants, as those who conduct themselves as non-Christians, without the knowledge of God & His Word.
When is the fullness of the Gentiles complete? Romans 11:25-36
Matthew 24:36, 42, 44
Mark 13:32
Acts 1:11
And now a reminder: Ecclesiastes 12:9-14
However, you do not specify in what ways some are using "the Bible as a Book of Rules through which to control people". I know the matters of Church conduct, whether in dress, speech, usage of spiritual Gifts, etc. have come up here & I certainly have shared in some of them, but as much as I believe that these topics are not dealt with, either within the Word or amongst believers, in an authoritarian manner, I suspect that some might find a strict adherence to such matters concerning & not in line with the freedom we have in Christ. In my input in this Discussion space, I always ensure that my comments are biblically based (with references where needed), & so it is then a matter of correct 'dividing of the Word' that comes to the fore. Yet, there can still be room for objection in this, & I think that is where the matter lies: is one being too legalistic or judgemental by stating the facts laid out in Scripture? Or, at which point does the biblical mandate become open to more relaxed/liberal views? And then, who decides on this point, or do we leave the matter open-ended & a sense of a 'do what you feel is best for you'. And a further point: should we have a swipe at the apostles, who in the main, have so directed us?
Anyway, just a few thoughts that come to mind; & these of course, may well be off the mark to your purpose in writing.
Thank you for your response!
We are changed at the LAST TRUMP and where is this found?
In REVELATION, the LAST BOOK of the Bible there are 7 trumps and the 7th trump is the LAST ONE and is at the end of the tribulation. there is not a 7th last trump prior to the tribulation. If you find it let me know.
Why is when the rapture / resurrection a hotly contested thing? It was not even debated until 200 years ago. Look into the lives of those who promoted this doctrine, like C.I. Scofield and you might consider this very suspect. Jesus said by their fruit ye shall know them.
Jesus tells us plainly in Matthew 13:24 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:
25 But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed (weeds) tares among the wheat, and went his way.
26 But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.
27 So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares?
28 He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?
29 But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.
30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together FIRST first the TARES (WEEDS) and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn. (first the tares WEEDS get gathered, then wheat last) could it be any more plain than this?
Jesse no one believed in pre trib until 1830 AD believe what you wish but it makes a difference. I would love to be wrong, but I doubt it. Question: How many million Christian died in communism the last 100 years?
I believe in a pre-tribulation rapture of the church, and I have never once made the claim that there is a second phase of the first resurrection listed in Revelation 20:4-6. Did someone tell you that? There is only one rapture of the church and it is mentioned in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17, and it takes place prior to the 7 year tribulation period. That is my understanding, and not just mine, but many others.
If you want to believe you will go through God's wrath during the tribulation period, if it happens during our lifetime, I don't have a problem with that. Really, I don't. I don't know why it would bother you that I believe in a pre-trib rapture? From my understanding in 1 Thessalonians 5:9, God has not appointed us believers unto wrath, so I do not believe that God is going to pour His judgment out on any believer.
Again, if you believe you're going to be there when His wrath is being poured out, I don't have an issue with that. If I may ask, since you do not believe in a pre-tribulation rapture of the church, are you mid-trib, or post-trib? I'm sorry, but I can't agree with what you are saying. And I hope you are not accusing me of adding to the bible. You are also in disagreement with me, but I would never make such an accusation against anyone for simply disagreeing with my understanding.
But first we must realize that not doing it is sin .
So we repent and ask the Lord to empower us to do it by His spirit .
The first step is why are we not doing it ?
The Lord will help us do it , ask Him for wisdom .
The hardest part is owning up to the reality we are not doing , and can't without His Spirit .
When truly repentant in a matter or salvation , we then will be able to be led by the Holy Spirit and enjoy our obedience . I hope this helps .
