28 For this is my blood of the New Testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

Notice: above, even though JESUS is about to enter into death, JESUS has not forgotten HIS mission because we see both HIS heart and mind remain steadfast on redeeming mankind from sins. The result of the BLOOD of JESUS established the PARDON me and you needed, thereby we sinners has access to SALVATION. John 3:16-21 is our reminder.
  • Leigh - In Reply on Ephesians 4:5 - 5 years ago
We know it is the Blood of Christ alone that saves, otherwise He would have died in vain.

    Luke 23:43

And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.

The thief didn't require water baptism to be saved, had he lived and come in contact with disciples he'd have heard same commandment, his action would have been same as Eunich.

    Acts 8:36

And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?

If the same Spirit that wrote the Word, be in us then would not that Spirit obey His own Word. And would It not act the same way in us as it did in them?

As for churches and people, I cannot say, but we all know that God is only obligated to His Word, for He is the Word, and heaven and earth shall pass away, but His words shall not pass away.

    Matthew 15:9

But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

    Psalms 119:6

Then shall I not be ashamed, when I have respect unto all thy commandments.

    2 Corinthians 10:5

    Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

    And Christ is the Word.

    1 John 1:1

    "That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;

    2 John 1:6

And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.

    Ezekiel 36:27

And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

And this is love, that we walk after his commandments.

    John 16:13

Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth:

    God bless

I love this psalm, do not put your trust in man, I will always put my trust in god because he will never let me down as man would, no matter the circumstances he has never failed me yet, he does not judge me or makes me feel bad, god loves us no matter what we just have to repent of our sin
  • Jeff M -- Follower of Christ - In Reply on John 5:4 - 5 years ago
Jesse, thanks for the comment. Forgive me if this reply is short, but this is my family day, so I don't have time to write something long. You said, "He can't be betrayed by one of his own." Yet, this is the very definition of being betrayed. A person is not betrayed by an obvious enemy, but by someone who was his friend. Judas Iscariot exercised his free will to leave Christ. I believe he was a true believer, because in Matthew chapter 10, he was one of the disciples listening to the instructions of Jesus to go out and heal the sick and drive out demons. Judas was evidently given that power, which isn't given to non-believers.

We can freely choose Christ when we first believe, and after we become Christians we don't become robots. We're free to persevere or free to leave the faith. It's a sobering thought.
  • Jeff M -- Follower of Christ - In Reply on John 5:4 - 5 years ago
Chris, thanks for the reply. I can't take the time to answer all of what you said right now, as this is my only day to spend with my family. My only reply would be to focus on the statements of Jesus in the Synoptics, which are very clear. People often start with Paul, or the Book of Hebrews, and these letters have some very difficult-to-understand sayings. Jesus, however, warns again and again that we must persevere. As you have said, we must use deductions sometimes, and I can say there is no need to warn someone to persevere if that person is incapable of NOT persevering.

CommentThough God loved David not because he did commit sin but because he always repent and forsake his sin and felt sorry to have done that
  • Chris - In Reply on Ephesians 4:5 - 5 years ago
Thanks Mishael for your input, particularly for the additional focus you had when being baptized. A life of dealing with the spirit world, not just fortune-telling, but with consultations & maybe divination, your baptism certainly gave witness to the supernatural world of your separation to the Holy things of God. That would have been a great testimony, fulfilment & freedom in your life.

I grew up poor, but I can only remember going to bed hungry once as a child. My income right now is below the poverty line. However, considered poor by the world's standards, I am extremely wealthy! I have a relationship with with Jehovah, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. I have peace, love, joy, happiness and get to feel the presence of God daily. Jesus died on the Cross for me and loves me unconditionally. I am grateful for all I have. My health, my children, my fur babies, a roof over my head, the lists goes on and on! I am the wealthy one, I am the wealthy one indeed!

That is right: MANY NATIONS. Abraham had Isaac ... and Ishmael. Israel is one nation and>

    Genesis 17: 18-21

Ishmael was born in Gods permissive will.

    God blessed him

    Will make him fruitful

    Will multiply him exceedingly:

    Twelve princes shall he beget

I will make him a great nation

    That explains a lot I think, but read also Genesis 18: 18-19 There is a note to read: Gen 12:3, 22:28, psalm 72:17, Acts 3:25, Gal. 3:8-9, 16, 18

Isaac gets Israel (all the land of Canaan). I'd have to look at maps later.

There is great resentment in Israel right now. Palestinians want the land back pure & simple. They want everything that was Destroyed to be rebuilt, infrastructure and full access to Jerusalem. They want everything that the war of 1967 gained!!! It's mind boggling. Israel gets to be a state but loses what they fought for independence to regain.

This is the engine that is hurrying the earth to conclusion. It's partly why we are commanded to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. God is NOT going to rescind the covenant with Abraham.

One point about the Antichrist is found in Daniel 11:37....neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard ANY god: for he shall magnify himself. [a note refers to Isaiah 14:13 here]

Bottom line is that Antichrist is most likely descended from Ishmael. But he has no regard for his heritage.

He's moving under the radar but if enough people read Jerusalem Post dot com ?? We may see him in a crowd with a smirk.

The prophesies are about the Covenant; the land God has given to Israel through Isaac.

There are many people's that are returning that believe Jesus is the Messiah; they're happy about it; most likely have churches; evangelize...

How can you despise that? Israel is the apple of Gods eye. He rejects orthodox Torah carrying boneheads that will not receive His son. He is turning up the pressure every day. God has a plan! Quit railing and you will see.

Thapelo, indeed Gen 1:26,27 says that we were made in the Image of God. That is, His only Creation that received a spirit, able to reason at a higher level, to articulate in words what is in his heart, having "set the World in their hearts" (Eccl 3:11) which means, we have the privilege of understanding so much of God's Creation so our worship might be returned to Him. No other living creature has these divine qualities, yet no other creature has done the evil that man has done to God's World.

So, you believe correctly, that God is a Triune God: Father, the Son & the Holy Spirit. Likewise, man was created in three parts: Body, Soul & Spirit. The Body signifies the outer structure/form; the Soul is the life given to the Body ("& man became a living soul" ( Gen 2:7); the Spirit is by which we are able to function above animals, whether in our minds, in morality, discernment, speaking to our Creator or allowing Him to speak to us, etc. Animals don't have a spirit; when we die, "our spirits shall return to the Lord Who gave it" (Eccl 12:7); of course, many of those departed ones will not enter Heaven because of their treatment of God's Son & His Sacrifice for their sins. We hope that your heart & life has been wonderfully changed by God's Spirit & you daily enjoy the Triune God working in your life & giving you His Grace.

Carol, the early Christians started to meet together in homes on the first day of the week: Acts 20:7, 1 Cor 16:2. We believe that this was not just to be different to the Jewish Sabbath, but in remembrance of the Lord's Resurrection on the first day of the week. As well, apostle Paul & probably the other apostles, used to meet up with the Jews on the Sabbath in the synagogues to discuss with them matters of the Law (& Grace). And Jesus "came not to destroy the Law (which was given to Israel) but to fulfil it ( Mt 5:17). In other words, in Christ was found the full realization of the Law & the Prophets; which means, that through faith in Him, God's Laws & requirements for us are now written in our hearts by His Spirit & not by hand as in the commandments ( 2 Cor 3:3). Jesus is our 'Sabbath' = our Rest ( Heb 4:9-11): a spiritual rest & not a physical one as was first commanded for the needs of the body & sanctification of the day.

Then again, if you consider believers in Muslim countries, they generally worship on a Friday, as Muslims do; they do so not to align with them, but probably because this is also their day off (& usually the only day off during the week), so that they could then come together as a Church. However, there are still Church services held on Sunday in some of these countries to cater for those who can make it to a Sunday service. As well, apostle Paul also speaks of this aspect, in relation to judging others for their particular inclinations, e.g. with food, drink, holy days, sabbaths ( Col 2:16); we are just simply to respect another's worship style or days observed & not judge them for such trivial matters, rather, be concerned when God's Word is not carefully brought out, false teaching coming into the Church or 'Christians' leading licentious lives. By all means worship the Lord on a Saturday, but understand why others follow the NT Church pattern.

Kat all you write is true. The Greek New testament word for sorcery and witchcraft is the same root word as pharmacy.

These are the same group who want to inject us with vaccines that down the road they find out were dangerous.

Antichrists like Bill Gates want us all to get jabbed with God (and the devil) knows what.

Some Vaccines contain Thimerosal which is mercury with a fancy name.

Look up Mercury poisoning symptoms and autism symptoms and see if they match.

Mercury has no known usefulness in the Body and is a known poison.

I also believe their are trying to kill and damage the people of the Lord.

Most drugs given, alter the Brain, measurably. A normal brain can go dark like an Alzheimer's brain. Street drugs are worse. You should read up on this stuff. Some drugs prevent the brains ability to use or produce serotonin; the happiness hormone. Even if you take anti-psychotics they can cause serious paranoia, can't sleep on your own, and other bad things. You have to ask God to DELIVER you from them. Sorcerers in the Bible are the maker of ancient drugs. They don't know that the Bible delivers the death penalty for doing that. Do a word study on sorcery.

The Bible mentions that prayer with fasting may be needed to be delivered of drugs that hurt you. It might help to have corporate prayer and laying on of hands. Pass the info forward ok? Help someone else out.

My reason for being water baptized was a statement to God and the devil. I was an astrologer and I had no clue how much spiritual warfare was going to follow me.

If we don't fill our house (me) with Gods Word; the demons will stop by frequently to see how it's going and if you're serious about following Jesus.

I wanted the water baptism to show God I am serious and that I belong to Him, forever. And I wanted to show Satan that I love God and fully intend to follow Jesus.

I was done going to church: and when the church would corporate pray for the demons to leave the service. Well those demons would say to me, you better get up and come with us. It was very disturbing.

I believe for me that the baptism was a beautiful experience just between me and my Lord. It wasn't a lot of scripture that made me do it. I know the Holy Spirit was helping me get from just survive mode to conquering mode. I expect that Water baptism is different for everybody. It's really personal. We should consider what our statement is before going under the water and say it to God.

Ted, you have read the account of Lazarus in John 11. After Lazarus died, it was the custom to entomb the body, just as Jesus was after He was crucified. A tomb was a cave-like structure, whether natural or hewn into the side of a hill, so after burying the dead, a large stone was rolled at the opening to prevent people & animals from entering. The dead body was wrapped in grave clothes, which was an elaborate binding from head to foot, maybe to preserve something of the body form during the decaying process. Lazarus was in the tomb for four days already so decay had already begun. But when Jesus came to the opened tomb, he called for dead Lazarus to rise from the dead. So here we have a dead man just come to life, probably having difficulty breathing & with blinking eyes, so (in answer to your question), Jesus ordered that he be released from those binding grave clothes so he could get up & come to him & his family. And Lazarus was alive for the rest of his appointed days, though the Jewish leaders later on wanted to kill him & Jesus because of this miraculous act by Jesus. So Lazarus had to face the prospect of death again, which he finally did at old age. A man acquainted with dead, in very truth!

I was notified that someone replied to my comment to you but I could not find any comment but I did notice this reply on testing for DNA. That's rather short sighted, ain't it. David No need of a test; save your hundred dollars; but don't embarrass yourself if u are an adult or teenager by asking your mother father or grand parents; but on the second thought; why not' they will probably not take you serious as seniors are probably wiser and of course they can tell you a lot; You can learn from them but they may laugh if you ask them that thing; and of course you know if they had your mom or dad when they were babies; they never really found them under rocks and or the stork never really delivered them or me, the doctor did; and so you know the rest, if you are over 5 as they even learn it in kindergarden, David, no need of testing unless u can test Adam and eve or their descents as they say that there were only 10000 left 6000 years ago and we all descended from them. I don't know what happened to the rest; probably wars or disaster or something, maybe pollution and ecological disaster and or a collapse of the economy seems to be most likely and maybe space men drawings in caves shows that; and that we were here maybe many times before.

Bride of Christ. Elijah and possibly Moses or Enoch will be of the 2 witnesses in Revelation.

Malachi 4:5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:

then they get killed and this is proof of a pre trib rapture?

Revelation Chapter 11:3 And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.

4 These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.

5 And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed.

6 These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.

7 And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.

8 And their dead bodies [shall lie] in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified. (our Lord Jesus was crucified in Jerusalem which is called spiritually SODOM)

so murdered prophets is proof of a pre trib rapture?

Mishael - God himself has to bring ISRAEL to the land, not the godless antichrist United Nations, whose printer used to be called Lucifer Publishing and now is Lucis publishing.

Jeremiah 30:3 For, lo, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will bring again the captivity of my people Israel and Judah, saith the LORD: and I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it.

God promised Abraham he would be the Father of MANY NATIONS.

Genesis 17:5 Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of MANY NATIONS have I made thee.

If the "Jews" are all of Abraham, then where are all these MANY "jewish nations".

There is only one and it was created by the antichrist United Nations and one is not many.

Either God lied (impossible) or the Jews are not all of Israel.

Where are the MANY JEWISH NATIONS of Abraham?

Besides Judah and Israel were not the same people. God divorced Israel and not Judah. One tribe does not equal many

Jeremiah 3:8 - And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also.

Israel and Judah had wars and different kings with different capitols. Samaria was capitol of Israel.

Galatians 3:29. - And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Does this mean that those in Christ ARE Abraham's seed?

Micah 3:10 - They build up Zion with blood, and Jerusalem with iniquity.

    d. does it make sense to baptize a person sometimes weeks, months, years down the road (of Christian living)? Does biblical baptism allow for this time scale? Does it not make it somewhat meaningless & only serves to satisfy obedience to the command to appease the conscience? Also, to whom is the command given? To the baptizer or baptizee? Yet, so often we see that the baptizee is the one requesting to be baptized? Very strange.

    e. and lastly, were Christ's apostles ever baptized in water, bearing in mind, that Paul was baptised, as he was not present with them at Pentecost? There is no mention of it, that I'm aware of, of any of the apostles speaking of their baptism in their letters, as important an event it is for any believer. Does the fact that they were baptized with the Holy Ghost only, exclude the necessity for water baptism? And there would be some today, who are baptized with the Spirit without the intervention of a preacher/evangelist.

References cited: Acts 2:37-41; 8:26-39; 9:1-18; 10:44-48; 16:27-33. Given to highlight that churches for the most part, are not staying true to the biblical warrant & pattern. Baptism should be a part of a believer's salvation - today we detach it to suit our terms & make a solemn event almost meaningless. So just offering this up for your thoughts & discussion, if needed.
  • Chris - In Reply on Ephesians 4:5 - 5 years ago
Leigh, you've given some pertinent Scriptures on Water Baptism. What I find that churches today fail in (& I of course, refer to full immersion baptism) are the following:

    a. why doesn't the person leading a lost soul to the Saviour, also baptize the person? I realize sometimes this would happen, but in most cases these days, the baptizee (one being baptized) is baptized by someone not connected to leading the soul to repentance. So who, from the biblical perspective & responsibility, should baptize the sinner? Is the Church fundamentally wrong in this, to allow another to baptize who was not a witness to the sinner's repentance?

    b. why does the Church usually require the baptism enquirer to undergo a series of studies and/or interviews to ensure he knows the step he is about to take? Is this biblical? If the Pastor or Elder is unsure about the authenticity of the believer's testimony, can he in all good conscience baptize him?

    c. why do we generally baptize within the Church building or property, when the other aspect of baptism is a public witness to a decision made & a changed life? I wouldn't say that fellow believers are true witnesses, rather they need to be the public or unsaved friends/relatives.

    (see ongoing comment)
  • Bride of Christ on Revelation 11 - 5 years ago
Enoch was raptured (taken up) representing the Bride in the last days. The Bride of Christ (includes those sleeping) is raptured. They are chosen/predestined to leave before the tribulation. Those that reject God's Word or fail to live according to His Word (includes the church, who would rather follow their own beliefs instead of the true Word) will go through the tribulation. God has an elect group of Gentiles that He chose to use as representation of Himself to fulfill Revelation. Therefore, Moses and Elijah are the two witnesses who will preach to the 144,000 for 3 1/2 years... then killed. Why Moses/Elijah...not Enoch? The Jews are waiting for the fulfillment of this prophecy. Judaism
  • Jesse - In Reply on Luke 21 - 5 years ago
Thanks for sharing this interesting post. It looks like the verses you are sharing are referring to the Mid-Tribulation time frame, the last 3-1/2 years of the 7 year tribulation period known as the Great Tribulation. I see this as the time God will spare His elect people, the Jews, from the events during those last 3-1/2 years of His wrath being poured out. Since there are 144,000 Jews who are sealed during the first 3-1/2 years, God is going to spare them from having to endure the final 3-1/2 years of His wrath, or "Shorten those days for them." You do make a great point that we cannot agree on the timing of the rapture, whether it is Pre/Mid/or Post Trib. That's been one of the most heated debates for quite some time. Again, thanks for sharing this.
