    Rod,

Tithing was more strict under Jewish ceremonial law but it started before the law with Abram and Melchizedek. Tithing is very much for today, Chris is right. However, its dependent on our trust in God. Besides the promise of Malachi 3:10, we read in gospels how even though Jesus rebuked the Pharisees for leaving out judgment and mercy, he commended them for the tithe. But that is a secondary issue and not to take precedent above the former. Besides in Hebrews 7:8 the Bible says "And here men that die receive tithes; but there he receiveth them, of whom it is witnessed that he liveth"

In other words Jesus still receives our tithes in Heaven as a pattern of how it worked under the law. Giving of our tithe or our firstfruits of our increase shows God our faith in Him that he will provide for us, plus giving of our tithes also shows that we are faithful in the "least of things", bible says money is the least of things and that if we can trust Him in that arena he can entrust us more

On Matthew 24:36 Chris the Scripture you refer to Matt 24:36, I thought that was when Jesus comes at the end of the Tribulation & every eye would see him. I was referring to when the rapture of the Church occurs. I guess I phrased my question wrong. The Jews were looking for the Kingdom of God, weren't they, as they didn't know anything about the rapture or tribulation?

We are saved by grace through faith, and justified by faith. Your works are dead if your working for eternal salvation. The moment you believed the gospel of Jesus Christ is the moment you inherited everlasting life. You have been made a new creation, not of your will but of the will and power of the Spirit of God. If there is anything you must repent of, it is your unbelief of the promise of everlasting life through the Lord Jesus Christ.

A Christian is someone who is born again by the power of the Holy Ghost. To be born again you must believe the gospel of Jesus Christ, that He died for your sins, He was buried, and He rose on the third day. By believing the gospel God gives you everlasting life. If you have everlasting life how can you die? Your flesh will die because of sin but your soul and spirit are saved because of the righteousness of faith in Christ. Now there are a lot of people who call themselves "christians" but are not born again. Do you know for sure that if you were to die today, you will go to heaven?

Every morning l sit some where alone getting strength from my Heavenly Father. I have been through my life many warfares because the enemy knew at the end of my Distany l would be so close to our God, that l could move heavy mountains from others lifes. I flow in and out of the controlled system of lies- knowing my Strength of my past fights l have had would lead me in the Light to fight for others. I know my God. I know His Son. Been up in the Heavens before. Saw Jesus fight for me with His Father so l could return to the world to help others. My whole life l wrote what l could see before it happened. Leading me to walk now only with the Holy Spirit- not the world at all. I want everyone to know we have to choose now who we will serve. The world of the mind and flesh. Or the Spirt of our Mighty God and His Son. Choose this day whom you will serve. For the time will go faster and faster as the evilness takes hold. And out of the Clouds Jesus will be. A Mighty Warrrior for you and me!!!

No parts are optional. You follow them all. Culture and society have trampled the Word of God. Women should STILL worship with their heads covered. The reason why they don't ??? Just like Israel did. And look what happened to Israel. God turned His back on them for millenium now. There are left to doing what is right in their own eyes, Just as AmeriKans are. And just as God did with Israel, for turning AWAY from the Lord their God, He is fixing to do the exact same with America and England. Just as a woman shall keep her silence in church 1 Cor 14:34, she should also worship with her head covered. 1 Cor 11:5 tells why.But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven. If a woman worships with her head uncovered, she DISHONORETH her head (husband) and is an embrassment to him. The silence/head covering is designed by God to show a woman humility. Keeps her humble.

Women are NOT equal. They never were from the beginning.God made woman from a PART of man. Peter calls them the weaker vessel. if you aren't the same strength, then you are unequal. She was made to be a "help meet" , a wife for man; not a ruler, not a soverign, not a CEO, not a soldier, not a cop, but a keeper of the house. Weak men have given up their God given lordship due to feminism, what a shame. God used a woman judge (Deborah) and a housewife (Jael) ONE time in the Bible, in the same event no less, for the specific reason of being an embarrassment to a male king. That's all. Never another woman ruler. God told MEN to go to war, never did he tell WOMEN to go to war. The young girl that "kept the door of the tabernacle" was a one time job, her dad had to go and do a job inside the temple and she was the first person he saw to hold the door. Why is it that these days, women STRIVE to be better than men. What do they have to prove? That they are equal? They break God's law/order
  • Charles Hallam - In Reply on Acts 22 - 5 years ago
preaching is preaching, doesn't matter where it is. one on one , sharing their testimony and inviting them to Christ is what women should do, niot teach. You either have to take the Word of God as it is written, or just write your own Bible.

18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
  • Charles Hallam - In Reply on Acts 22 - 5 years ago
Paul didn't get it wrong. God, thru Paul, said that women are not allowed to teach. Women can teach their children, that's it.
  • Rod - In Reply on Ephesians 3 - 5 years ago
Hi Chris: tithing is under the Jewish Law, we Gentiles were never part of the Jewish law or the convenant God made to the Jews, so to teach new belivers to tithe as part of giving is confusion, and confusion is not of God ( Ist Cor 14:33 ) your intentions might mean well, however 2nd Tim 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, RIGHTLY DIVIDING the word of truth. Pauls revelation was given to him by Christ himself, we are told Today we are under grace not the law. Gal 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.

"Be ye strong therefore, and let not your hands be weak: for your work shall be rewarded."

    2 Chronicles 15:7 (KJV)

Keep on keeping on. Faith is living by Faith in Father God and Christ's Tough-LOVE for you, and not be sight. Even though you may feel weak and unrewarded by Father God and you may be walking through the valley of the SHADOW of death ( Psalms 23:4), but know that SHADOWS disappear when THE SON SHINES IN!!! You are Rewarded. Focus on God and Christ in You!!! Christ says in John 14:18 "I will NOT leave you comfortless: I Will Come To You [in You NOW!!!]." Hallelujah!!! Amen

Hi Halim, I am so happy to hear you are born again! There is good hope for your wife too. 1 Corinthians 7 says the unbelieving wife might be won over by the believing husband. Let her see the joy and peace in your life as a born again believer and God will work miracles!

Felisha, if you mean as in a house that is haunted, then I have not encountered any & the Bible doesn't speak of such occurrences. The Bible rather speaks of spirits & particularly in the Old Testament in the Bible, warnings for God's people to not deal with familiar spirits & wizards. There were people in those early days, & of course these days as well, who consulted the dead & who deal with satanic spirits. These satanic spirits are very real as seen in Scripture (see Mathew 10:1, 12:45, Mark 3:11 for a few examples). But as far as haunted houses or even in seances, it could well be evil spirits mimicking departed people. But these are just my thoughts as I've never been involved in this. And these of course, are very dangerous practices & you should stay well clear of them & from anyone who tries to seduce you to join them.

George, we do get glimpses of the early Church. Acts 2:46 says that "they continued daily with one accord in the Temple". The new believers still went to the Temple to worship God but through His Son. The Temple had specific times for prayer during the day, so Christians also joined the Jewish throng in worship daily. "and breaking bread from house to house": some commentators believe that this was actually done in one house, though the point was that whenever they met together, they probably had a meal & during that time, also took the bread & cup & remembered the Saviour's Sacrifice. Paul, in 1 Cor 11:20-22, chastises the Corinthian believers that they made mockery of the Lord's Supper, in that they gorged themselves with food & wine & not waiting for all to be served. He said that this was not the Lord's Supper which required seriousness & decorum as they the meal followed with the remembrance of the Lord. And this was observed on any occasion they met or as they wished.

  • Chris - In Reply on Psalms 23:1 - 5 years ago
(From earlier comment). Secondly, God is not asleep or disinterested in what goes on here. And we also need to remember that unlike our view of death (its pain & finality), God's regards it as a transition from this life (which He has given anyway) into the next life ( Rev 21:4). Suffering & death comes to ALL of us because of our sin nature (& that includes innocent children). Had sin not come & been imputed upon all, none would suffer & die. So our humanistic view of life is narrow & clouded - we need to see it from God's perspective. So the death of a little child, the mugging & death of an elderly man just for some loose change, or a young bride's life cut short by cancer; what about all the world tragedies over the centuries - where was God in all these events? Could God have prevented all this? Of course. But that's not what a sin sick world is all about - it's about the need for a Saviour, not a cure for our deserved griefs.
