Marriage Supper Of The Lamb (2 of 2)
The wrath of the Lamb is reserved for those who resist it." We are not of this world, as they do riding the coat tails of politicians, half the time with Jesus talk and the rest with mammon.
At the end of the Parable for the Marriage of the Kings Son (Matt.22:1-14) " For many are called, but few are chosen." They are blessed as the key verse says.
The inaugural vision in the Book of the Revelation shows the Father Son relationship, transcribed in visual terms, and Jesus Christ in the Alpha Omega aspect standing in the midst of seven candlesticks.(Re. l:12-18). Narrative mode of the Spirit is consistent in the creation account where God establishes faith as only means by which man may have fellowship with God and we are called in his Son.(Ep.1:4) No less consistent is the wrath of the Lamb which weeds out the ungodly and those who refuse abiding him in faith. Seven angels with trumpets are equally cleansing the world so the marriage supper of the Lamb is only for those who have made themselves ready.
The narrative mode of the Spirit is identical with the other two. "And the evening and the morning were'"so ran the cue card at the end of each day. The cue card " He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches" (Re.2:7) for instance, is placed at the end of each message to seven churches.
Here the only distinction is that it is not about activism or glory of the church, that is the question but do you let Jesus Christ in your heart?
"Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me./ To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne./ He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches."(Re.3:20-22)
Marriage Supper Of The Lamb (1 of 2)
"And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God."
A day is appointed for the Son.(Ps.2:7) The Spirit accordingly gives us the creation account which is compared to the house that Wisdom built. (Pr.9:1).
God created the heaven and the earth and how is, however, revealed by the writer to the Hebrews. (He.11:3). "In the beginning' placed in the opening sentence sets the divine Will of the Father as the impulse which the Son shall sustain till the end. "(God) Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;/ Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power,"(He.1:2-3) God framed the worlds by faith and we are instructed by the Spirit that it is sustained or maintained by the Son whom he has appointed heir of all things. 'In the fulness of time' God sent his only begotten Son to the world.( John 3:16) so faith determined a holy family which shall be partakers of his grace, " the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:/ Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son," (Col.1;12-16)
Having said these now let us examine Ge.1:1. God is set in terms of the Father Son relationship. Jesus declares "My Father works hitherto and I work." The Word made flesh epitomizes the ministry of Jesus Christ. In his prayer he says, "I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine." ( John 17:9) When we consider the Word sanctifies us it means that we allow Jesus Christ do his perfect work. "They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world./ Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth."(17:16-17)
Hi Friends
Ephesians 2:1-5
speaks of past tense, so there's a question one must ask themselves, are you still a sinner? & if so, than if stands according to Scripture & sound reasoning that, that person is still walking according to the course of this world, to the prince of the power of the air & is still a child of disobedience. Still having their conversations in the lust of the flesh & fulfilling the desires of the flesh & of the mind. & by nature a child of wrath, therefore one is not in Christ & no new creature, though they say they are, yet their a liar & know Him not, by not keeping His commandments.
The cause & effect of this is that one has not contended for the Faith that was once delivered to the saints, but has received the doctrine & teaching of men, who's learning is by letter that sprung up in the apostasy, who have turn the Grace of God into lascivious, & denying the only Lord God & Jesus Christ who He has sent, though they may ever so zealous profess Him in a knowledge, that's not received by a revelation from His Spirit. 2Cor 4:6,7
Ephesians 2:6-10
Grace appearance to all mankind is the Revelation of Jesus Christ to each individual soul, teaching them to deny all ungodliness & worldly lust & instructs them to live soberly, godly & righteously, Believing that it is He who's within you speaking to you is faith, believing your hearing the Word of God & Obedience to this Word of Faith / GRACE is the good works that were ordained of God that we such walk in them,
It's a good work to cast down all imaginations that exalt themselves against the knowledge of God, denying all ungodliness & worldly lust that spring up within us, bringing every thought to the obedience of Christ by learning to live soberly , godly & righteously as Grace instruct us
This is the working out our Salvation, the Sanctification of the Spirit unto obedience & sprinkling of the Blood/Life of Jesus
For we are His workmanship being created in Christ Jesus unto these good works through the washing of regeneration & renewing of the Holy Ghost & having a readiness to revenge all disobedience when our obedience is fulfilled brings us to be born again through hearing & obedience to the Incorruptible Seed. John 1:13
This is Salvation by Faith through Grace, that is not of ourselves, but is a Gift of God given through His Son, wrought by His Spirit appearance within us.
"Worthy is the Lamb"
Coming back to the Lamb who stood in the midst of the throne refers to 'as it had been slain' and we have the symbolism of the Son; the Word became flesh and he is the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world. ( John 1:29) The seven horns refer to the power which is complete so the throne of the Lamb covers the church who made a covenant by sacrifice. (Ps.50:5)
"And there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God."(4:5). Unity of the Spirit is one while the lightings and thunderings assign God the primacy of the Law. The body is represented by the four beasts and the four and twenty elders. Body Spirit Soul form the trinity. In the creation account God expresses his will, "So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them."(Ge.1:27) Where shall we place those who refuse to do the will of God? They have despised the grace of the Son which are the seven eyes, the seven Spirits of God sent into all the earth. "But grace and truth came by Jesus Christ."( John 1:17) Wisdom has built her house so Jesus could assure, In my Father's house are many mansions, ....I go to prepare a place for you."( John 14:2)
Worthy Is The Lamb
"And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth." (5:6)
This is a visual transcription of the will of God which, as we discussed in an earlier post, is three layered. Holy is his name. His Power and Wisdom in operation gives us the male and female principles. God created man 'in our image', and 'male and female created he them' consequently gives us a template in which the holy family shall be molded. (Ge.1:26-27). the four beasts as a memorial are represented according to the will of God 'Let them have dominion.' The face with man represented the Last Adam. In the will of God Adam as memorial for 'the blood of Jesus' which was adequate (the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all-He 10:10). On this basis Seth shall step in place of Abel. Similarly it shall explain the sealing of 144,000 in place of the nation of Israel. " And I heard the number of them which were sealed"-Re. 7:4-8. It is indication of redeeming the martyrs from the left out church.)
With regards to the four and twenty elders the authority or constitution of the Kingdom of God is in the Law. Whether in heaven or on earth or under the earth it did not suffer any injury. Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today and forever."(He.13:8;Ps.119:89). They were memorial to the body of church In vv.3-5 we are shown a demonstration of the foreknowledge so the elders inform John the Lamb was worthy to open the book.
"And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book,.../ And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof."(5:3-5)
"Day of the Lamb" (2of 2)
Seven in the case of judgement also signifies perfection wholeness.
In order to indicate this distinction The rider of the pale horses takes the stage, "And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth."(Re.6:8) The Spirit tags these judgments on the basis of the Word become flesh. Gospel of the Father and of the Son are revealed to man so Fellowship of God with Man there is only one basis: faith
God framed the worlds by his word (He.11:3) and the Son is the heir. Whosoever has received him by faith and abides in him shall be 'partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light.'
"And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever."(Re.11:15)
Day Of The Lamb
"For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?"(6:17)
In Psalm 2 we read that a day is appointed for the Son. " Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion./ I will declare the decree: the Lord hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee."(Ps.2:6-7). For this reason we find the kingdom of his dear Son mentioned. (Col.1:13-14) On the other hand we have the day of Jesus Christ or the day of the Lamb. Is there any difference between these two names? Yes there is and it is as a ram is different from the lamb when God 'tempted' Abraham. (Ge.22:13). In order to understand this distinction we shall study the seven days in the creation account which ends on the seventh, and he sanctified it. (Ge.2:1-3) Thereafter the Spirit takes up the narrative of a holy family beginning with Seth and according to the predetermined counsel of God, "And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved." (Ac.2:47) God sanctified the church which shall be heirs to the kingdom of his Son. "Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:/ Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:/ In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins.:(Col,1:12-14) The Lord found a ram caught in a thicket shall meet the occasion so we are looking at the holiness of God and who 'will have mercy on whom I will have mercy".(Ro.9:15-18) Seven indicates wholeness and perfection. The seventh day consequently denotes the Salvation Plan of God right on track till the Son says, "It is done"(Re.22:5)
The Holy Spirit gives us similar sequence when the Lamb is found worthy to break open the seven seals and it is about judgement. For this reason we have the seven angels with seven trumpets setting the judgement aspect of everlasting gospel which side by side keeps rolling in.
The Scroll
"A scroll written within and on the back sealed with seven seals." The tableau is identical with the night vision revealed to Daniel the seer.(Dan.7:10) There are different emphases, which we need to understand first. The night vision is intended as a tag to indicate the post-angelic revolt. 'Judgment was set' gives us additional clues: judgment is assigned to the Son so the scroll with seven seals points, as consequential. "Go your way, Daniel, for the words are shut up and sealed until the time of the end "(Dan.12:8-9) In the last chapter of the Book of Daniel it is clear that it was a matter for the Lamb slain before the worlds began and for the names entered in his book of life.(Re.13:8). Visions of Daniel and John are about the same but clothed with appropriate symbolism. This is a clue to understand the Book of the Revelation.
The seven seals work similar to the creation account was set in seven days. For example we have the Four Horsemen colour coded and when the Lamb breaks the first seal we are shown the rider on the white horse; a crown was given to him. (Re.6:2) "And he came out conquering and to conquer. In the night vision mentioned above Daniel sees it in slightly altered form. "One like a Son of man"(Dan.7:13-14) to whom was given dominion and glory and glory and a kingdom" which in the case of John we are shown a crown instead. We see him again in Ch.19. He is the Word of God. It makes sense why the Spirit gave the elders and the four beasts the role of MC. Their body is very much the personification of saints redeemed by the word of God. Likewise the man on the red horse is the personification of war which is proxy for the Beast who shall appear in Re.13.1-3; St James asks from whence did war issue forth.(Jas.4:1-2) Breaking of seals by Law of Gradation catalogues nations whose pride and authority came from Satan. . "Wrath of the Lamb is come and who can stand?"(Re.6:16-17)
The Four Living Creatures
"As for the likeness of their faces, each had a human face. The four had the face of a lion on the right side" In order to make sense of them we need keep the memorial of the four beasts and four and twenty elders set about the throne of God.(Re.4:4-11)
First we shall understand why they are kept as memorial. They all have body, which in heaven (God is a Spirit) is for our instruction. The word of God has a body which we shall call it the constitution, the Law. It heralds the glory of God. "And day and night they never cease to say., holy ,holy, holy" The four beasts and the four and twenty elders are in complete amity; memorial for the church and it points to the purpose of the body of Christ in eternity. (Re. 4:9-11) in short God framed the worlds with the word so the earth in every sense is for his praise and glory and it is not to demonize or eulogize man or divide them in their image and according to race or color. The memorial in heaven shall never change as the word is eternal.(Ps.119:89)Those who have despised, His creation are despising the Law. Jesus Christ as the Son showed his quality: though he were a Son 'yet he learned (He.5:8)
By one man's disobedience death came into the bloodstream of mankind (Ro.5:12) The memorial is for 'the one man Jesus Christ.' Memorial is about over-comers and the Last Adam(1Co.15) however draws Adam who was created in 'the image of God.' By setting the two visions side by side we can infer that saints of God are called to take each other's burdens, that is what the ox face signifies; the lion, faith; and eagle denotes hope.
Glory And Honour
Re.4:11 "Worthy are you,our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created."
The four and twenty elders casting their crowns before the throne said the quote, which is our key verse. They established the direction of the Salvation plan of God. The reason why the Spirit revealed the memorial is to present the church of God in eternity and its effect is the mighty chorus given in Re.5:9-13. "And I heard every creature in heaven and on earth, and under the earth" join with the voices of angels in heaven in full throated praise. The new song is unlike songs created according to canon in music or sung by a choir of skillful singers, it is entirely under the grace that the seven lamps of the Spirit signify. (Re.4:5) Seven spirits of God or the unity of the Spirit is an ever present memorial. (The three heavens denote trinity- body represented by the four and twenty elders and the four beasts; the spirit by the seven lamps; and the soul which points to the Lamb who appears in ch.5:6.) "In the image of God" in the creation account brings in a similitude of 'as in heaven.'
The second part of the key verse shall explain Ge.1:1, "By your will they existed" included the memorial of four and twenty elders. The Spirit gives the number 24 (3x8) in terms of the Law which is same in heaven, on earth and under the earth " quoted above. The grace of Jesus Christ covered all three so death of the Son was also for spirits in prison. "The grace of of our Lord, that though he was rich, yet for your sake, he became poor,"(2 Co.8:9) In short no man may escape ignorance as to his calling (Ro.1:20) Either you gather with Christ or be cast out into the outer darkness.
Matt.13:4
Matt.13: 4
Parable of the Sower: The Wayside
"And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up:"(
Jesus himself supplied its significance so we shall stick to what he has meant. He lays different emphasis than the one he said following this. In the Parable of the Tares the field is the world.(13:18) The sower refers to God who made all hearts alike but here the works of man have changed the terrain altogether. Pr.24:30-34. The sluggard has let it to rack and ruin so the fences are down. Of such Prophet Jeremiah qualified that their hearts were treacherous and desperately wicked.(Je.17:9) Their hearts, to all intent and purpose were no man's land. They were willing tools for any ill hatched scheme and served the causes of unclean spirits. In short the heart has become a dwelling place for demons, a haunt for every unclean spirit"(Re.18:2-3) These spirits are birds that devoured the word sown in their hearts..
God formed all hearts alike and tries their work. As in-the case of the Parable of the Talents each of us shall give an account of our works. "For as the heavens are higher than the earth so are my ways higher than your ways/and my thoughts than your thoughts"(Is.55:9). How miry clay made of the word of God these two millennia ,has shown that Jesus talk and activism arise from hearts desperately wicked. Jesus Christ was manifested to destroy the works of the devil. Without following him and abiding in him there is no way these two ways could be reconciled. As we see the false shepherds who have allied with state ,-whether it is pro-life or Anti- abortion it is contrary to everything that Jesus stood for and set an example. What concord has light with darkness?
It would seem Satan showed Constantine the great an easy way out and he took it, Satan ever since let out bilge beginning with heresis and concord with Belial etc.,
The Worlds
'In the beginning' establishes it is the Will of God we are looking at: the heaven and the earth are the two worlds created and the Spirit from the outset informs us the Son was equally involved in the creation. "All things were made through him."( John 1:3) The logos aspect of the Son serves as the bookend while 'in the beginning' sets the other bookend. The Spirit picks up the role of the Son with the tag 'in the fullness of time' and it is to continue the salvation plan in the core will of the Father.
The Spirit annotated the v.1 in He.11:3 This explains the logos aspect,"the Word was God". Thus the worlds were framed by the word of God. "Darkness was upon the deep"and here we have the verse from John's Gospel to help us. "The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it."( John 1:5) The Spirit obliquely touches upon the angelic revolt since it is not germane to the Salvation plan which is our focus. St Paul speaks "Or do you not know that the saints shall judge" the world and "do you not know that we are to judge angels?" (1 Co.6:2-3)This being the case all that's needful shall be before us so we may judge justly.
v.2 The earth was without form tells us that we are looking at the will and what were made to appear shall be grouped under seven days. "And the Spirit of God moved upon the waters"(KJV) can be put in terms of the two worlds: the worlds of the Spirit interfacing with that of the natural world. In this context we can follow the drive of the Spirit "Let there be light " and its effect we see in all creation. Glory of God is visible outcome of the wisdom and power principle on active mode."And there was light." is the effect.
What holds these worlds as one? Faith is one. Without faith no one shall please God. The world of the Spirit is the envelope of saints for whom death of their corporeal bodies is no matter. They have spiritual body that is called the body of Christ. (2 Co.5:1-3)
Jesus affirmed,"A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit."(Matt.7:11) The Spirit introduced in the very outset to establish God as the First Cause and genealogies serve the purpose of creating a holy family from Seth onwards. It is thus predestination works. Many are called but few are chosen because the seed was not in those who did not make their election sure. (Matt.22:14)
Will of God as the cause and the Earth as the effect is neat but because of man's disobedience we have this question from Jesus. "Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?" Satan has slipped in tares and what heresies we find in our midst owe to two parallel governances of God and Satan. God shall purge the earth of all tares. "But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men."(2 Pe.3:7)
The Spirit introduced in the creation account seven days, which are the seven pillars of the house that Wisdom has hewn. (Pr.9:1) Think of each pillar as the cause in the divine Will of the Father; each pillar is built up in a sequence,- cause alternating with effect and it shall be a continual process. The writer to the Hebrews speaks about the Son "And upholding all things by the word of his power." God rested from his labors and there is a continual process going on which no one shall ever know unless it is revealed to him. Hannah in her new song sings thus, "For the pillars of the earth are the Lord's, and he hath set the world upon them."( 1 Sa. 2:8)
In John 6:15 we read that Jesus resisted those who wanted to install him as king by force. Jesus Christ would not want to be the king of the Jews under their terms. "How then could the Scriptures be fulfilled, that it must happen thus?" (Matt.26:53-54-NKJV)
It allowed no room for compromise. Temporal powers like of Imperial Rome are 'tares slipped in by the enemy'.
"Full Corn In The Ear" (1 of 2)
"For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear."
Here we are looking at the Parable of Jesus where the field is the world. The sower in the Gospel of St Mathew is God and the good seed is the word of God. St Matthew gives us four types of the ground that received it. In the parlance of the Spirit Number 4 is the word of God being true whether in north, south east or west.
Whereas the key verse quoted from St Mark speaks of the earth that abides forever.(Ec.1:4) God framed the worlds by his word so the writer to the Hebrews gives the will of God having an effect (He.11:3). It is faith of God given its full scope so there is no correction, or modification would be required. Consequently the entire divine Will beginning to show in a sequence,- and there be no variation. First the blade then the ear and so on. St Mark lays emphasis on eternal nature of the word of God, faith and hearts of men, which God formed alike.(Ps.33:15) So it is not an objective lesson from the nature that we are looking at. It is about Christ as the head and of the church.
This idea we find in the creation account, where 'seed in itself' speaks of a holy family, "And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so."(Ge.1:11) God commanded and the effect we read thus:"And it was so." Heaven signifies the will of God and the earth represented by the Son, (the visible image of the invisible God-Col.1:15) sets forth a chain of sequences that we call the church, or in whom is the seed of truth. Full corn in the ear is when 'the one seated upon the throne shall say, "It is done." "And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end."
Secondly similitude works because the Son is the heir to all things "that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him."(Col.1:16). During the revolt of Miriam God revealed what Moses was in his sight. "And the similitude of the Lord shall he behold."(Nu.11:8).This is the basis for which we find God sending prophets and messengers who serve as a stand-in for the Son. Thus the memorial in heaven the man refers to Adam as the steward appointed by God an office which was not abolished because Adam was expelled from the Garden of Eden. 'I am the Good Shepherd,' establishes that man shall give an account of his stewardship. Parables of Jesus refers to individual accountability.
When Jesus speaks of Abraham and the patriarchs it shall be followed on earth as well. "And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven (Matt.8:11)".
We see predestination had found a place for Jesus to partake his last Passover. ( Luke 22:10-13) In Lucan Gospel he sends his disciples accordingly.
When Jesus healed it worked as fulfilment of the will of His Father. "He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions (Ps.107:20). Presence of God as upheld by His creation required the agency of man step into the breach as God showed the tree that could heal the bitter waters of Marah. Moses did according to the word of God. So did Elisha and many others. The Spirit of the Son inspired them all. What the Psalmist predicted to the advent of the Son came true. Jesus the man healed the man with palsy at the pool of Bethesda. ( John 5:1-30) His faith completed the transaction. Hypocrisy of the Pharisees faulted him because they only saw the outward observance of God's Rest without really entering into it.
Similitude
"My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house./ With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the Lord shall he behold."
The Lord's Prayer teaches us "Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. " (Matt.6:10). So everything works accordingly. God a Spirit made His will appear and the earth which was without form continually begins to reveal itself. As with the Father Son relationship there is another unity the Spirit in terms of the body,'Thou has prepared'. The principle of Similitude explains this working relationship of the earth to heaven. Framed by the word of God there is nothing outside these two parts.(He.11:3)
Principle of Similitude sets entire kingdom of God on this principle.
Similitude works in terms of the memorial in heaven. The four beasts attest to the glory of God so the creatures represent the face of a lion, a calf, a man and a flying eagle.(Re.4:7)
This validates symbolic value of creatures. A locus classicus is in this passage: "The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them./And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox./And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den."(Is.11:6-8)
The lion could be a tag for Judah in order to refer the antecedence of Jesus to David. Or the young lion referring to King Cyrus.(Je.50:19).The calf and its variants we find, "Ephraim is a trained heifer,(Hos.10:11-NIV). The Spirit uses the persons and nations accordingly to compare the will of God and how it is translated on the earth. From the Isaiah quote we get a capsule history of nati
The Word (2 of 2)
The Holy Spirit in organizing the God document gives us spiritual truths from the standpoint of God a Spirit and from the 'only begotten' Son. Fellowship of God is with Man and the latter is no ordinary man but the Word which was in the beginning with God. As John would refer to it," which is in the bosom of the Father"(1:18) we shall come to it anon.
The Spirit sets before us Truth in terms of the Father and from that of the Son. It is this Logos aspect whereby whosoever believes in the Son shall have the Father as well. Whoever has seen the Son has seen the Father as well.( John 14:9). "Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son./ Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father."(1 John2:22-23)
Note that the above mentioned quote,-John14:9, it was Jesus of Nazareth who declared it, ie in his humanity. John in his Gospel introduces The Word which is the Law, is Sovereign so we see him as "the Man is the Message". As the Son was in the beginning with God every one of us having received Jesus Christ as our personal Savior was with him from the beginning: Jesus Christ the same yesterday , today and forever.(He.13:8)
It is thus we need study our position. This is graphically set before us in the inaugural vision of Jesus Christ. We are presented with the composite picture of Jesus Christ and the Ancient of days. There is nothing to indicate nail marks of crucifixion other than this:"I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore." No more he dies and having perfected with one sacrifice the Word is now in its judgement aspect. "and out of his mouth went a sharp two-edged sword." (Re.1:16-18) The Spirit is annotating the truth: The Word, the Father and the Son are one. "So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth:"(Is.55:11a) This word points to what ' things which shall be hereafter.' This is what we find in Re.19:13-15
"The Word"
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God./ The same was in the beginning with God."
In the beginning is a tag by which the Spirit begins the creation account (Ge.1:1) on one part and 'in the beginning John 1:1-2 is the other part. Thus two narrative strands from God the Father and the Son are hinged as one by the tag,'In the beginning'. Similarly the night vision of Daniel (Dan.7:10-13-14) ties up with the inaugural vision of St John. These composite imagery of God and Man allows predestination to work. The same truth whether presented from God or Man is same because the Word which is the word of truth. It sanctifies everyone."They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world./ Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth"( John 17:16-17).
The word of truth, and it is what Jesus Christ as the Son of man revealed what was in the bosom of his Father and what are we if we merely treat it literally? Gospel is one but heresies are what man with carnal wisdom make of it. "You brood of vipers! How can you speak good, when you are evil? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks." (Matt.12:34)" A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.( Luke 6:45)
And yes, the 'Jew is under Electionrequiring only faith'. And so it was pre-Cross, as many from the Elect (of Israel) were accounted righteous & faithful, the blood of the Cross being applied to them, cleansing & justifying them before God. But after Jesus paid the price for our sin, even the Elect (of Israel) & those of the Gentiles now in Christ, are joined together as the Elect of God. Many of the Jews were "cut off" & the Gentiles were engrafted into the tree, but they were "broken offbecause of unbelief", not just to make room for Gentiles. The fact that they were removed means that we could be partakers of those blessings and "many sons might be brought unto glory" ( Hebrews 2:10).
This conversation has been good Daruled, but I will generally be offline for the next few weeks, so please excuse my absence. Blessings.
Thank you Daruled for your explanation of 'abrogation' & how you understand the word in this context.
But to the "old ready to vanish away" & your illustration of 'putting away childish things as we mature'; I can see that those things can indeed 'shape us to who we are today as adults', but in the context of Scripture, I have two problems with this: this would certainly be the case with Israel who were given the Law, & hopefully with the help of the Holy Spirit when some would be saved (e.g. Saul, the disciples), that Law would have been more meaningful to them in their spiritual transition. What then happens to those "who have not the Law", how would that Law which they knew nothing about, nor ever given, shape them?
And secondly, we are 'to put away childish things as we mature'. I see 'putting away' as an abrogation of those things - if not, then it would not be unreasonable for me to go back to my 'box of toys' (as an adult) to begin playing with them. And I would think that anyone witnessing this behavior, would begin to have serious doubts about my mental & emotional state. I therefore see, that this 'putting away', is a 'casting away entirely', for the Law under the Old Covenant has nothing to do with those under the Spirit-given Law, the New Covenant; i.e. I simply cannot put my hand back into my toy box to even pull out that favorite toy - I can glance into the 'box' now & then, & see what I was before as a child (under the Law), but I should be careful not to 'toy' with its contents. Onto Page 2.
Satan is not afraid of the truth; nor does he live in fear of his demise, BECAUSE he believes he KNOWS the TRUTH.
God Bless You!

god bless all. september 3, 2023
I do believe that is great advice.
It's exactly what I am working on.
I haven't read anything from the site besides your post.
Here's where truth hurts both sides.
I believe sometimes one can be over zealous in an area.
But truth in the doctrine of salvation is not one of them.
Thanks again and God bless you.
Much love.
