    Hi Adam,

Good question. We all share a deep curiosity to know more about where we came from. Many people study the bible. and others study science. I am curious to understand how my fellow human beings think, and I read and study both, and I learn something new every day.

You say the assumption that humans are 99% the same as an ape has flawed logic. You ask, just because the same metal from cars can be found in buildings, does that mean cars evolved into buildings? No. it means that both cars and buildings evolved are built by people with metal.

Our DNA is 60% similar to a banana. Does that mean we came from a banana? No, it means we both evolved originally from the same living DNA.

Our DNA is 84% similar to a dog. We are both mammals, more recently related than a banana. Ditto the cat. Our DNA is 90%-96% same as monkeys, apes. We are MUCH more recent relatives. And our DNA is 99.9% similar to other people because 200,000 years is a blink in the timeline of natural evolution.

No offense dude but I am going to have to disagree with you it clearly states in the bible that this world was created by God along with all things living on it, I was just simply curious because people are trying to rewrite history. And I was just confused.

Technology and Science work hand in hand to replace the Creator, the Almighty One is He. The prince of the air is only the prince of the air, and nothing else. Our Lord reigns over all that is good and all that is evil. The Bible prophecies of old tell us today what the Lord has had planned for the church of today. The Christian church would be an apostate church, full of religion and tradition. But the Apostate church is devoid of the Power of the Holy Spirit drawing sinners to know that they need a Savior to save them from their sins. It does not teach or preach truth, but entertains the lost unrepentant sinner. It is full of nice stories and nice entertaining music, but the Spirit of the Lord that CONVICTS SINNERS is MISSING! May the sinner reading this today know that God can convict you of your sins, right here and right now as you read this. He is calling the BACKSLIDER back to the cross reminding you that Jesus washed away all our sins at Calvary! Hear the Spirit calling!

The rapture is taught in the Bible in 1 Thessalonians Chapter 4. It's just a matter of semantics on the word Rapture. 1 Thessalonians 4:17 says concerning the rapture: Then we who are living and remaining shall be caught up together with them in the clouds for a meeting of the Lord in the air.

The phrase "shall be caught up" is translated from the Greek word HARPADZO, which means to be caught up, to be snatched, to be seized. The Latin translation of the same Greek word is RAPTUS, which is where we get the word rapture from. So whether people call it the rapture, or the HARPADZO, or say shall be caught up, it is all talking about the same thing.

It is a time when Christ comes and removes His church from this earth before His judgement comes upon it.

    (Last Part)

But probably one of the most powerful Scriptures of God's keeping power is Romans 8:38-39: "For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor powers, nor any thing which has come, nor things coming, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

The only way a person can be saved is by a spiritual birth from God; and the only way a person can keep his salvation is through the keeping power of God.

That is my position. I don't believe I can lose it because I am trusting in the power of the one who has saved me, sealed me, and has promised not to lose me. I'm sitting there at the "will call" waiting for the one who purchased me to come pick up His possession.
  • Bendito Palavra - In Reply on Matthew 5 - 5 years ago
The meek are those that wait on the LORD, enduring affliction without asserting their own ambitions or growing hostile. Psalm 37 is a wonderful exposition on Jesus' promise to set things straight in his coming kingdom.
  • Jesse - In Reply on John 5:4 - 5 years ago
(Part 4) John 17:11-12 also shows the keeping power of God. I believe in the permanency of salvation because the bible teaches that God is the one who saves and He does so from out of His mercy. According to Paul, in Ephesians 2:8, grace, faith, and salvation are gifted from God.

John says, in John 1:13, believers "were born, not from blood, nor from the will of the flesh, nor from the will of man, but from God." Therefore, from Scripture, a human being cannot save him/herself.I can't keep myself saved, so I have to trust God's power to keep me. John 10:27-29 is one of the most beautiful pieces of scripture that shows me that I am secure in Christ.

Also, Jude states in his doxology in Verse 24, "But to the one being able to keep you without stumbling and to set you before His glory blameless in exultation." Paul emphasized the keeping power of God's Spirit Ephesians 1:13-14, Ephesians 4:30.

Sorry this is long, but salvation is very important to me. One more post, I promise!
  • Jesse - In Reply on John 5:4 - 5 years ago
    (Part 3)

Not only is God is the sole source of salvation, but every saved person is kept by the power of God. Peter writes, in 1 Peter 1:5, that believers are, "The ones who are being kept in the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time."

Paul writes on the same subject, in Galatians 5:17, "For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are opposing to one another; in order that you should not do what you want." These scriptures show that believers cannot be taken away from Christ by the flesh, because the Spirit of God is dwelling within to prevent that from happening.

Jesus Himself said, in John 6:37, "All that the Father gives to me will come to me; and the one coming to me I will never cast out." He goes on to say in John 6:39, "And this is the will of the Father who has sent me, in order that of all which he has given to me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up in the last day."
  • Jesse - In Reply on John 5:4 - 5 years ago
    (Part 2)

Once I was drawn to Christ by the Father and surrendered my life to Him, His Spirit came into my spirit and sealed me unto the day of redemption.

I belong to Christ. He purchased me, meaning he owns me. Paul said in Romans 8:9, "Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, this one is not of Him." In Romans 8:14, he wrote, "For as many as are being led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God."

In 2 Corinthians 13:5, Paul challenged the church at Corinth: "Examine yourselves, if you are in the faith; prove your own selves, or do you not know your own selves, that Jesus Christ is in you, except you are reprobates?" John, supported the same understanding in 1 John 3:24, and 1 John 4:13. Salvation happens only when God's Spirit enters and remains in a person's spirit, thereby causing spiritual birth. Nothing in the Bible teaches that salvation is accomplished by the repetition of the Sinner's Prayer or through the performance of any other kind of human formula.
  • Jesse - In Reply on John 5:4 - 5 years ago
Angela, people's salvation is the most important to me. Please let me share with you where I stand on salvation. I will have to break this up in order to explain my position. I am one of those that strongly believe that salvation cannot be lost. Emphasis on the ability to save has been shifted in recent years from God to man. As a result, the permanency of salvation has been called into question quite frequently. Many believe you can lose it, and many believe you can't.

For me, I have to ask myself who am I trusting? Am I trusting in myself to keep myself saved, or am I trusting God's promise to keep me saved? My salvation is based solely on God's Spirit coming into my spirit, causing me to become a new creation, a new person. My experience of regeneration by the Holy Spirit is an act of God, not of myself. I would have never came to Christ if God the Father did not first draw me to Him. The salvation process begins with God the Father ( John 6:44).
  • Adam - In Reply on Acts 22 - 5 years ago
Hi David, I'm sure you know that if you go to a Christian Bible website and claim that everything evolved rather than was designed and created by God that you will find most people disagree with you and will have plenty of Bible verses and evidence to back it up. I'm not sure what your goal is.

The assumption that humans are 99% the same as an ape has flawed logic.

The same metal from cars can be found in buildings, so does that mean cars evolved into buildings?

Your DNA is 60% similar to a banana. Does that automatically mean you came from a banana?

Your DNA is 84% similar to a dog. So you're part dog?

Your DNA: 90% similar to a cat

    Your DNA: 90%-96%: monkeys, apes

Your DNA: 99.9% similar to other people

The reality is that God made all DNA a similar structure for all living things, so DNA is evidence of an intelligent designer- God. Atheist scientists are sometimes caught manipulating data to achieve specific pre-desired outcomes, so that kind of 'science' is closer to a cult religion that pushes propaganda.

Some argue once saved always saved and eternal security of the believer. Some use this grace as an excuse to sin.

I just know that the Bible says this:

Revelation 3:5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not BLOT blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

One can argue over the interpretation of who gets blotted out of the book of life. It is a scary thought to consider some names in the book of life could be blotted out. Who will these be? pray over it and ask.

    I am not sure either.

Churches use the Latin word Rapture, (that word is not in the Bible) when they are talking about the resurrection.

John 11:25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

1 Corinthians 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

Revelation 20:5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.

Revelation 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

Think Rei was making quite an interesting point.

Why should little children be raped and murdered? How is that suddenly OK because the criminal will be punished in the afterlife. Sounds all very convenient. Its how the churches and politicians have been able to not punish their own kind who have widely abused so many innocents. Sin now, pay later?

I want to know if God is/was asleep, does not care, or is just too busy? Who can explain? Please don't tell me about 'choice'... the little children did not choose. But if God really can see everything, and if he was not asleep, did he simply CHOOSE to stand back and do nothing? And if everything is HIS WILL, then is the rape of little children HIS WILL also?

Getting angry is not a sensible grown up answer. Its what adolescents do when they cannot get their way. Please think about my question and come back when you really believe you have an honest answer. But no shouting please.

Thankyou for giving this some thought.

    David

A simple DNA test will tell you exactly where you came from. They are about $100 now and well worth taking. You came from two people who had sex together, ie your natural your parents, and they from their parents. You carry the genes of your ancestors and we are 99% the same as an ape. That 1% has evolved in a milisecond of time compared to the billions of years that the earth has been formed.
  • David Orren - In Reply on Acts 22 - 5 years ago
There are still monkeys and apes because they are evolutionary rabbit holes. Its why there are multiple lines of hominids that died out. Human Biology, medicine, anthropology are truly exciting subjects taught at schools and colleges... thats where we can learn these things about our wonderful world.

In my home town there are so many foxes living from domestic refuse containers that foxes have evolved long necks. And hedgehogs have longer legs today than 50 years ago because of cars! And you shoudl see our butterflies. Evolutionary miracles in front of our very eyes!

    Be well

Thanks for sharing such a great article and enlightening us on this crucial topic. The end time is upon us and the second coming of our Lord "Jesus Christ" is coming. Still, many people don't believe it even after seeing situations like Coronavirus all around the world. I suggest you guys read a book on bible prophecies about end-time if you don't want to read the Holy Bible. I personally start with the book "Nation at a Crossroad" and that gives me the motivation to read the Holy Bible and understand God Almighty. So, you can prepare for that time. Thanks again. I love reading your article.

    Hi Charles,

One of the things I saw at my Christian School we can notice is that some gay men who have not 'come out of the closet' have very strong views about sex.

    Have you noticed this?

    David
  • David Orren - In Reply on Acts 22 - 5 years ago
    Hi Charles,

You sound very angry with feminism. Like its got the world upside down.

I am guessing in the most part we have single mothers because the men got their kicks then ran away? And the women stayed.

How does that qualify men to be more able to teach??

May be men being in charge is upside down?

    What do you think?

    David
  • David Orren - In Reply on Acts 22 - 5 years ago
If Paul said that he suffers not for women to teach then he obviously never imagined my mother, or sister, or daughter. They are all much smarter than me and they have all taught me a great deal.

How did Paul get it so wrong?
  • David Orren - In Reply on Isaiah 11 - 5 years ago
I am not saying that Rome corrupted the bible. I am saying that the early Church was purposefully COMPILED under the stewardship of the Roman Empire out of fragmented factions from all around the Mediterannean, including what is now Turkey. So, the Roman Empire LED the compiling of the bible that is the KJV Bible today. They did this to create a single Church which would support the legitimacy and continued rule of the Roman Empire. And they killed a lot of people who wanted to preserve the many testaments they chose to exclude. The KJV bible we read today is the product of the political leadership of the Roman Empire. That is generally how religions are formed. By political leaders who need populations to submit to their rule. We can learn from this and ask ourselves questions about how we lead our lives, and how we treat each other, which is what I think Jesus was prompting us to do.
