REI,What you don't know is what you need to understand scripture, namely, life, through Jesus and his work on the cross. There is a log in your eye, while you think believers have a splinter in ours, and so it will be,until, the kingdom is come on Earth.Have you come here to teach us God's word,or learn for yourself?

Right now, it is demanding that all Mankind go to God in prayers, knowing that we've really gone out of His way, as He has ""shut up heaven, (technically shutting -lockdown of the whole world), and there is no rain, if my people who are called by My name, will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways.... I will heal their land" (2 Chro. 7:14). Pride has abruptly eroded our self esteem, as we now parade others both in spiritual and political leadership, some which're perceived as agents of Satan, as gods and turn the truth from Christ unto Satan, hence God has given us to reprobate minds.(Rom.1:28).Do we now want to believe that this Covid 19 pandemics is above God's solution, knowing that He has all the solutions to issues beyond man?

"The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but those things which are revealed belong to us" ( Deut. 29:29), will He not reveal the secret of this, because with Him all things are possible? Thanks and God bless you.

Nicole, I had never heard of Nag Hammadi Library. So I went to their Site and learn immediately that it's a library of 13 ancient books discovered in Egypt in 1945. And these contained a 'large number of primary Gnostic Gospels', viz Gospel of Thomas, Gospel of Philip, Gospel of Truth, etc. Nicole, BE WARNED. You say that these are 'helping you find God again'. I also understand that you have been put off the KJV as it doesn't make sense to you. Maybe you have never studied Gnosticism. This wicked belief system permeated even the early Church, as even today. The apostles were aware of it & struggled hard to keep the Church untainted with their anti-Christian teachings (1 John). Some of their teachings: knowledge is superior to virtue; non-literal sense of Scripture is correct & can only be understood by a few; evil in the world precludes God being the only Creator; no incarnation as God can't unite with a body; no resurrection, etc. Is this what you want to believe in? It is devilish
  • Chris - In Reply on Revelation 2:10 - 5 years ago
Maryann, the Scripture you quote has to do with the Revelation given to John for the Church in Smyrna. Even though Smyrna was a real Church, the messages to all the seven Churches are for us today. Church at Ephesus left their first love; etc, etc.( Rev 2 & 3). I'm unsure of the time of their suffering, but through the ages, believers have suffered for their faith at the hands of wicked men. There is a time coming called the Great Tribulation, wherein the Anti-Christ will reign in Jerusalem as God, & all manner of evil will come from him & to those opposing him. From Scripture, we believe that Christians will be removed from the Earth before that time (the Rapture) & will not go through the Tribulation (which is a time of God's Wrath), yet this event doesn't preclude anti-Christian sentiment & actions by the world now. How should we behave? Just as Christ did: show love & forgiveness to all, not retaliate, pray for them & for each other; bear our cross gladly as He bore it for us.

David, there are some truths in what you share, but looking at it fully, it seems to smack of "The Da Vinci Code": The fundamental irony of Christianity! The Bible as we know it today, was collated by the pagan Roman Emperor Constantine the Great". Constantine, of doubtful conversion, did not reform or collate the Bible. In 306 AD, he became ruler of the Roman Empire. In 325 AD, he called for the Council of Nicaea: the first general conference of the 'Christian Church'. He had nothing to do in forming the Canon, nor did the Council refer to it. The Council formed decisions about the Canon in 397 AD in Carthage: 60 yrs after Constantine's death (274-337 AD). Important to note that 21 Books of the Bible were acknowledged by Christians long before Constantine. Yes, he did have some impact on Christianity, but when Christianity veered off course (as from the early days & look at the sects/splits we have), then this is not the pure religion of God, of His Christ & apostolic teaching.

what i wrote yesterday did not have anything to do with Ephesians.and you know it.the truth;the truth of GOD will set you free.It was on whether a Believer has to tithe ,in the new testament.Seperate law from grace. In the book of Malachi it says bring your tithes, not tithe.so wouldn,t that be more than 10%?Plus;wasn,t it once a year rather than every SundayOr three years?but not every week.We can,t keep the the law(which was a curse),and live in grace at the same time. What was first the promise or the law?The promise was given to Abraham(faith),the law came by Moses;but grace came through Jesus Christ.By faith Abraham believed GOD and it was accredited him righteousness.By the Law was no one saved, but by faith in GOD!!!And by the righteousness of Jesus christ our LORD,we will be with Him in Heaven.Thank you JESUS.

When we find ourselves in a situation where we kan't go forward or bakkwards with absolutely no hope in sight we should just kast it all on God.bekause as long as we do, God will definitely do something as loss we believe.
  • Chris - In Reply on Ephesians 3 - 5 years ago
You're quite correct James; tithing was an OT practice & of course, offerings are generally regarded as gifts aside from tithes. "That every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver" ( 2 Cor 9:7). So we are advised to give out of the willingness & cheerfulness of our hearts, so whether our gifts are big or small, it is God that will multiply & use it for His Purposes. However, tithing is a good way to guide believers, particularly new ones, as to responsible giving. After all, 10% is not much, & for those struggling to even give this, then they can give what they can cheerfully, or even see the Lord "pour them out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it" ( Mal 3:10). I knew a young man, who gave 30% of his salary & then put aside some for the provision to missionaries. May have been a big sacrifice, but he never had a shortfall. He is Faithful.

I think I was preaching. I apologize. I agree that creation is a false teaching that has deceived many people; generations even. These scriptures may be useful:

    1 John 3:8

1 John all of chapter 2

Some day soon I'll give a condensed testimony. I was born again on Yom Kippur 1985.

(continuing comment). How precious is our salvation then: this gift that we hang onto tenaciously in a life of godliness & love. Rom 5:20 "..But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound", i.e. there is not too great a sin that God's Grace cannot cover.
  • Chris - In Reply on Hebrews 10:26 - 5 years ago
All Scripture pertaining to the Mercy of God granted to us through His Son, shows us that we don't have license to sin because of the Grace afforded us. Heb 10:26 speaks of those who were apparently saved, or at least, believed themselves to be, & rejected Christ forever, preferring the offerings of the world. Then there are those who firmly believe that once we are saved, our subsequent carelessness in life, doesn't void our salvation & eternal life. But Phil 2:12: "...work out your own salvation with fear & trembling"; i.e. now that you are saved, keep close tabs on your new life with great seriousness. 1 Pet 4:18 "and if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly & sinner appear"; i.e. we are saved by the "skin of our teeth". (see following comment).

We can't find apes, monkey, anywhere in the Bible. It's so obvious that satan blinds people's minds. He's a liar, destroyer, murderer, deceiver and more. People never consider they are throwing a door wide open for DEMONS (plural) to come into your home and bring along Fear and Torment (it's name); all kinds of names.

I pray to God you don't have something big & invisible walk into your bedroom and Lift the bed a foot off the floor, put a hand over your mouth so you can't speak the Word Of God! Good news...God hears the cry of your heart.

Satan wants us to feel worthless, depressed, suicidal, empty, hollow...Then he has you. Proclaim Gods victory in your life and receive Jesus as Savior, Lord, Redeemer, Protector, Healer and more. Learn of Him. Use your own brain to become a seeker of Truth.

    Renounce satan forever! Receive Jesus.

It's a real war. Stop sitting on the fence.

Our wishes to you Karrie & your husband on the occasion of your 26th Anniversary. I know it should be a joyous time for you both, but instead you write tearfully for your unsaved husband. Your post has just reminded me about my own marriage (24 yrs ago) & the text we had placed on our wedding invitation. That was from Col 3:14 "and above all these things, put on charity (love), which is the bond of perfectness". Paul tells us that above all that he has written in vv 12,13, we need Agape Love (Perfect, Holy, unselfishness, faithful), & this Love is the binder of all of the Christian graces. So you could ask this of God in your prayer & if your husband is willing to listen, then read Col 3:12-16 together: to see God's desire for these Holy qualities to be in you both & to seek His Face for help with any shortcomings, so that your marriage can return to that on your wedding day. Let your husband also share & discuss his views on the reading & earnestly ask the Lord for help.

SHELDON: 1. Adam & Eve wanted time be like God. Satan tempts people with food all the time mostly cause it's unhealthy. I like fasting. I tell my appetite NO and mean it. You can drink broth, water but no solid food.

Turn off the tv, the radio; no media. Fast from things you love and FEAST on the Word of God. Do not blab to anyone that you are fasting. Pray and dedicate this time to sit and listen to what the Holy Spirit May teach you in the scriptures. Read whole chapters or books at a time. No skipping around.

Start reading the whole Book Of Romans.

    Everything God does is NATURAL.

    Everything Satan does is UNNATURAL.

That's how you can tell if you are sinning. In your heart you already know the answers.

TO REPENT means to turn around and go the other way.(walk away from the sin). A term 'Backsliding' means to stand still. Your not going anywhere. Once you taste the goodness of Jesus you will never go back to the dark. Taste and see...

(From previous comment): Evolution, promoted vigorously by Charles Darwin, is essentially man's search for his beginnings without the need for belief in & requirement for a Creator God. The only way for them to cast God out of the picture, was to say that humans came into being via a close resembling animal (the ape). It doesn't take into account that you & I have a spirit given by God so we can know God, know good & evil, can do right or wrong & repent of sin & be saved.
  • Chris - In Reply on Acts 22 - 5 years ago
You're right DaLanie, that the Bible says that our first parents (God's Creation) were Adam & Eve. We stand by this fact, as it is written in God's Word, & the Truths of Creation, the worldwide Flood, etc., have been passed down to us today from previous generations. So we do have the authority of Scriptures that man & woman are God's creation, & we are not descended from apes. Evolution says that from another strain of the primate lineage, humanoids developed & this progression (evolution) continued until the appearance of modern man. (see further note).
  • Chris - In Reply on John 5 - 5 years ago
Sheldon, 1 Corinthians 6:9,10, reminds that all sinners will not inherit (enter) God's Kingdom. And this includes drunkards, covetous, effeminate, abusers of themselves with mankind, etc. But the Scripture also says in verse 11: "And (of) such were some of you, (but) now ye are justified in the Name of the Lord Jesus", i.e. through Jesus' Sacrifice & faith in Him, all sinners can be cleansed & forgiven & receive eternal life. So why does the Bible speak of homosexuality as sin? Homosexuality was never in God's Design for humans; we were given separate genders, to enter into a heterosexual marriage & bear children ( Gen 1:27,28). Not regarding those who are homosexual because of choice or result of abuse, but those who believe they are born in this way, I would say, that this tendency is not from God, but may even be an aberration in the mind's development. If so, then sin comes about when that desire turns to lust or action ( James 1:14,15). And God's forgiveness avails for those also.

Testimony: when my son came home he asked me if we came from monkeys & apes (which is what public school teaches; also that we crawled out of goo, grew legs etc). I prayed before answering. I asked him: do you see them living in nice condos with full refrigerators, air conditioning, tv and cable, PlayStation and pizza delivery?? He thought upon it and he said definitely NO. I asked: did God say He made creation, people and all the things we enjoy? He said yes. Then his expression turned to troubled. I inquired. He said I have to take a test tomorrow on what we studied about evolution. I considered that, and then I told him he had my permission to not take the test. I told him that we will do a project together to get extra points, then he was happy. He learned that he did not have to bow down to an evil world system. Christians should not allow their kids to learn damnable heresies. They are being taught about homosexuality and human procreation in first grade!

To Charles & Jesse: I've been following this thread with much interest & am not wanting to intrude into what has already been shared. I think, for the most part, you both are of the same mind, so I have nothing of useful substance to offer. My writing is to simply share a link that I have found, & from only a cursory read of the article (as it is very long), it gives a splendid overview of the role of women throughout (biblical) history: how the Jews regarded them, their position in Christ's view, into the early Church & the modern Church. It is a long article, maybe tedious to read, but gives a very full & balanced examination of the woman's position, mixed with many Scriptures & references to other writings, as further support. Please go to: letusreason.org , then type in /pent45.htm (I cannot post the full link here).

    Hello Amos,

That is a great question. We have to decide for ourselves whether we believe the account of creation in the bible or the evolution theory. We came from somewhere. The bible tells us that God created everything, people and animals. The evolutionists want you to believe we came from monkeys and apes. Most of the people that teach the evolution theory do not believe in creation, that we were created by God.

Something you might want to think about though: if we are ancestors of monkeys and apes, or we evolved from monkey and apes, why are there still monkeys and apes today? I believe that we were created by God, and that the God who created us also created all the animals, including monkeys and apes.

Sheldon, you are partly correct. God did 'dangle' the fruit before them, and they were made in God's Image & so had the ability to choose. But they didn't want to die - it was just their own decision that the Serpent's advice & logic seemed better than God's warning; after all, it was only a piece of delicious looking fruit! I believe that perfect & sinless lives (e.g. Adam/Eve & Jesus Christ) can still have temptations come to them. Our first parents chose wrongly & sin entered into humanity, but the last Adam threw back at Satan, God's Word. Should not Adam/Eve have likewise done: "God has said that we WILL surely die, so depart from us you wicked one". Sadly, they gave into the lust of the flesh & eyes ( 1 Jn 2:16). And I believe that they were very happy people enjoying God's Presence & the beauty of creation. After their Fall, they became extremely sad, fearful & spiritually destitute. I hope this helps.

Praise God for being the example of suffering to take away our sins. What a joy to know that Jesus was tempted and overcame

the tempter. We can do the same. Overcome the snares which the devil tries to set before us. I know that with Jesus's promises

and help that I will make it!
