Yes, husbands are to love their wives, NOT submit to them. The man is the head of the household, ruler of his castle

I agree with you, Juphil. God is not three in one. He has always been and will always be One. Throughout the Bible, God has presented himself as One. ( I Timothy 3:16; Isaiah 43:10; Revelation 1:13; Revelation Chapter 5,etc) In fact, He has said if there was another God--He did not him( Isaiah 43:11) When God created man, there was only one other being that possessed His image and likeness--angels. While the Bible says that God counsels Himself, There was no Trinity Present in Creation. In the beginning, was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God. God cannot be separated from his Word--the same way we cannot be separated from our words. Our words define who we are. God gave dominion to mankind. Therefore, man is responsible for the mess that man has created. Perhaps one of the greatest commandments was "Hear o Israel the Lord our God is one Lord. Jesus is God in human form. Jesus said "I have manifested thy name ( John 17:6) Jesus is not God Jr; He is exclusively God.

1 Cor. 7:14 has caused a lot of debate because many believe the word sanctified means salvation, that if one member of the family is saved, then the other members are saved also. It doesn't mean that. What Paul is saying is that if a non-believer is pleased to dwell with the believer, that person will be living under the influence of the Holy Spirit in the believer's life.

I'll give you the literal translation about children. It says else were your children, but it is literally else are your children unclean; but now they are holy. It doesn't say they are clean. They're still unclean. The word holy is the same word for sanctification. Both words mean set apart. They're unclean but they are set apart to be under the Lord's influence in the life of the believer.

If you follow the Lord and the non-believer says it doesn't bother me any, that non-believer is set apart to be under the influence of Christ in your life. But they still need to be saved. They still need to receive Christ.

The Jewish people believe in only ONE GOD. Find out who changed the belief in one GOD and after the church was established on the day of Pentecost, who changed the way to be baptized? One is immersed, buried with HIM in baptism in the name of JESUS. JESUS SAID to baptize in the NAME (singular) of the father, the son and the Holy Ghost. Not only that those are not names only titles. What is the name given to men where by we must be saved? Who changed scripture to create their global church as they were conquering nations. JESUS STATED " Search the scriptures for in them ye think he have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me". I am come in my Father's name and ye receive me not. That name was JESUS, (Alpha and Omega, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace, EMANUEL. ALMIGHTY GOD ROBED HIMSELF IN FLESH, that Flesh was crucified but GOD RAISED THAT FLESH, ( not a second person in the godhead) for in HIM, JESUS dwells ALL THE FULLNESS OF THE GODHEAD BODILY. SEARCH

Father, thank you for your goodness and your mercies that are new every morning. Thank you that all your promises are yea and amen. According to your Word, by the stripes of Jesus we were healed thru your finished work on the cross. Show your amazing power as you did when Jesus walked this earth healing ALL that came to Him. He was the perfect image of you. Father your Word says You never change. Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today and forever. Bless your Holy Name. I release my faith in behalf of this person who is in trouble and I expect the things that ONLY YOU can do. I've seen you do them time and time again because you love all of us. We give you ALL THE GLORY AND HONOR FOREVER. In Jesus name. Amen.

To Chris, I just want to thank you for reaching out to Doris. I have just went thru a very hard time an I just want you to know that written words sometimes seem to help me more than verbal words. My mom had Alzheimer's for years and it was rough to say the least. May God bless you both. God is so good!

Hello. This verse has been brought to my attention when considering how certain text is to be examined. A type of textual analysis. In John 5 :4 This verse is not included in older, original manuscripts discovered and known as the Dead Sea scrolls. The King James translation was produced many years later, and can be considered an editors note included into the story, and then copied into its place.

I needed this verse in Psalm 141:3, and am glad that i could find it here. I made a comment to a brother one time about him being the man, not realizing really what I had said; well it turned out not so good. The spirit of man did take over and I saw the works of the flesh, satan had taken advantage of those word and used my brother to put all the attention on him and not on Jesus. It broke the anointing. I felt like there was a band around my forehead , Now I know that I must be careful what and how I place my words.

How honored to be asked to be fishers of men. Little did these men understand the adventure God was about to lead them in.#1 prerequisite for fishing is patience, waiting for that moment, when they come! Waiting ,while watching intently. This is what Christ wants from us. He wants us watching and waiting for Him. Your lord is coming for you , He wants you to have your lights burning, your loins wrapped tight. The trip you will be making is into eternal life, a heaven made without hands reserved in heaven for you! It will never fade away, waiting and prepared for u in the cosmos. Everlasting ,no sin no more death, only life a life without end. The days are short , remember what He said, that He will come in a hour that you think not.

Jessie, you err seriously. The Bible does NOT tell husbands to submit to their wives. That's a total lie. Show the scriptures that says that. You won't find any.

Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. As a woman should submit herself onto the Lord, she should do likewise to her husband. Husbands are to rule their homes, not the wife. Here's the lowdown on who women should teach (and not in the church)

    The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;

4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,

5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

Jesse, she says Years of teaching Sunday morning and afternoon and evening had me perplexed by seeming contradictions. Most people go to church on Sunday mornings and evenings. Where else would she be teaching. The role of teaching was given to men, not to women, hence Paul not allowing a woman to teach. By doing this, she IS usurping authority. Would ya say robbing a bank was ok, as long as it was for a good cause? No.

Women are allowed to teach children in a Sunday school setting. WRONG

Paul say a woman should not teach in church period. How can a woman teach in Sunday School if "Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law.

And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak.

Or at home if the man is not fulfilling that role. A woman should teach their children about the Lord AT Home. That is scriptural.
  • Charles Hallam - In Reply on Acts 22 - 6 years ago
Mishael:If the husband will not be the priest of the household, the women have to do it.

Prove that using only scriptures ! That's a satanic lie. There was NEVER a woman priest in the Old Testament or the New Testament. I am helping the woman by edifying her with the scriptures to not teach. Women are to LEARN at home and to use this information to live godly lives and to not be an embarassment to their husbands.

And just where in the OT or NT does the scriptures tell anyone to do "family" prayers? That's not what Jesus, the Founder of Christianity, taught. This is what Jesus says about prayer.

But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. Matt 6:6

Y'a gotta think outside that little box of who does what.

No, when ya put aside the Scriptures, that's PRIDE and doing what is right in your own eyes. God wants HIS will to be done, not yours

    Georgia- Isaiah 59

My heart breaks with you and I know from scripture, we are punished for our sin against GOD because he is a holy God; however, If we seek God's wisdom, James 1:7, we will know HIM, and understand what is happening all around us. God's word is your source for Truth, Direction, Love, and just understanding life in general. When I read Isaiah 59 (as I am studying this book now), I immediately saw the year 2020. We have denied God for so long and Satan is revealing himself in a powerful way, yet true believers know Satan is fighting because he knows his time is short.

From a little research I've done, I understand that whenever a sale of property, or some type of transaction was made in those days (this was later discontinued), the custom (not law) was that the seller of the land took off his shoe & gave it to the buyer to indicate that he fully relinquished any further right to that property. The shoe signifying the feet that walked on that property would no longer walk (& own) it. Later, it became customary to use a veil or handkerchief instead; & my thoughts: because there would have been a lot of grumpy men getting about town with only one shoe on, & either being a spectacle of laughter or jealousy as money was just made on a sale. Then there is Deut 25:5-10, where this custom gets even uglier, where a man is also spat upon, on top of losing his shoe. I'll let you read about it.

Nancy, the apostle Paul in 1 Cor 7, is speaking to the Church on marriage & in the event that the marriage goes sour, how should the Christian wife or husband behave. To state, the Lord doesn't recognize or approve of divorce, but Paul says that, sometimes the spouses need to split (maybe because one rejects or abuses the other, or is unfaithful). And of course, they then need to remain unmarried for the rest of their lives. However, if the husband is pleased to keep the marriage going & the wife is happy with that arrangement, then vv 13,14: "the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the (believing) wife (& vice versa)". So what Paul is intimating here, is that the believing spouse in the marriage will be a testimony to the other spouse of godly things, will be able to pray for him/her, or make the Word of God real to him/her in practical ways. So the children from that wedlock may also be taught in the faith. So we see, that marriage is a holy union & all options used to save it.

Why are you mentioning Covid-19?. Those words never were typed by me. And I NEVER took words out of context. Your cognitive abilities are too low to understand the very FIRST thing I put which means YOU TAKE THINGS OUT OF CONTEXT THAT I NEVER EVEN SAID. I was addressing the fact that a person here saying that basically children will be vindicated if they were raped or murdered and I was saying NO, they will not, that person was saying that evil people's deeds will evenyually go punished when God basically gets ahold of them (hell). And I was basically say "So" what is THAT going to do? A person who gets punished in the hereafter is NOT going to change the fact that a particular child was raped or murdered. God itself should protect little children. It should not be "don't you worry little one, you being raped and murdered will only last a little while and you will die but I your God will punish them when they eventually die." Wow. Stop talking about Covid 19 when I wasn't

Jesse, I agree with your position & understanding of the Scripture. Except, I believe that it is: "husbands love your wives" & not "submit". Well, that's okay, even my wife thinks it is: "husbands submit to your wives, in the Lord".

I'm so grateful that you wrote to her too. It was hectic here with my 7 yr old grandson.

My Dad died from Alzheimer's. I came back to Tulsa after vacation with family. As soon as I got back home the Lord said your father is dying. I quizzed my mom & she told me everything. She was running their business and trying to take care of him too. So I moved there to take care of him. I loved him as much as my son. The night he died he had been aspirating food..and he drowned. I was holding him and I felt something Invisible walk in the room. It said Leave. I'm going to take your father now. I was gone 4 minutes and he had passed. His face was so peaceful. I would've fought an army to keep my Dad.

It was so kind what you said. Very Christ-like. Merciful.

Well done Bob for quickly picking up this New Age teaching which of course has its roots in Hinduism. The sadder part is when folk start to fuse other religions or philosophies with the teachings of God's Holy Word. My forefathers were Hindu; my great grandfather was a priest with multiple wives. At his conversion (I don't know his story), he rejected & cast away everything tainted with idolatry. He knew that you 'cannot serve two masters' - one cannot embrace Jesus Christ & still have a foot in the temple's door. He could still have maintained his priestly position & dignity in society & quietly believed in Jesus, but at what cost? To the damnation of his soul. Syncretism is clearly Satan's chief ploy to divert sometimes earnest, well-meaning people, into a false belief that this new understanding/new light shed upon them is God's great plan & purpose for them & the world. How we need to stay true to the Word of Truth so that lies are what they are: LIES.

Doris, I can't think of any other Scripture than Psalm 91 that provides such assurance & comfort when one is going through deep & dark valleys. I have a dear elderly friend, also Doris by name, so I feel compelled to write, who is now confined in a nursing home, going blind & with alzheimers. She loves the Lord dearly, as you do, and hangs onto Him so tightly, that her present sufferings, though very real, are but just a passing aberration. As apostle Paul said, "For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the Glory which shall be revealed in us" ( Rom 8:18) and Peter ( 1 Pet 4:13). So be assured that the serious medical issue you're going through is not just known by those about you, but by the God of Love & Healing. He is Yahweh-Ropheka: I AM the LORD Who Heals ( Ex 15:26). Keep your gaze upon Him, soak yourself in His Love, enjoy His Glorious Presence through the Word & prayer. He is mindful of you & we will lift you up before His Throne.

Eliot, you've raised a lot of issues here. In essence, I see you judging yourself too harshly. Maybe, you're a little like me - being too introspective & harsh on oneself. You've given some great truths there but it may be a lack of understanding, your prayer life & walking each day in the power & joy of the Spirit, that keeps you in a place of frustration, confusion & self deprecation. And of course, our Enemy, Satan, is always prowling about us ( 1 Pet 5:8) to bring us to sin, particularly in areas of weakness. If we are aware of our weaknesses & failings but also aware of the One Who loves us & guards us, we are better equipped to deal with whatever hits us between the eyes. Your setting up a fruit/veg garden for the future of your kids is a wonderful idea & not a lack of trust in God. God gives us a myriad of bodily faculties & brain power. He gives us doctors, lawyers, govt. services to avail of. If anything is contrary to His Mind, then we have a reason to shun it & let Him speak.

This passage is based on the Masoretic texts which lists his height as nearly nine feet nine inches , Masoretic is the foundation of the English King James bible, however according to the Dead Sea scrolls his height was closer to 6'9, the dead sea scrolls being much older than the Masoretic texts suggest Goliath's height was changed to make David's feat much greater!
  • Chris - In Reply on Genesis 1:1 - 6 years ago
Our God is an Omniscient God, i.e. He knows all things. He knew that Adam & Eve would sin & that this sin would be passed throughout all humanity. He knew that it wouldn't be by the giving of the Law through Moses, that the sin issue would be dealt with (the law was only a schoolmaster ( Gal 3:24,25)) to show Israel & us that we are not able to get right with God by obeying His Laws, simply because we just can't do it. God knew that one day, He would have to send of Himself (His Word, His Son: Jn 1:1-12) so that the full & only price could be paid for sin, so that man may only just believe in His Sacrifice to be saved & not anything else ( Eph 2:1-10). So, if God knew all this from the beginning till now, why were Adam & Eve punished, since it was already known by God? It then is a question of obedience. They were not created robotic. God did tell them to not eat of the fruit of that particular tree ( Gen 2:16,17). They had a choice to obey their Creator or not. They chose wrongly!

Wolfen244 Chakra has to do with India and the Hindu religion and yoga. Some call it new age, but it is very old. This ties in with kundalini spirit where the serpent climbs your spine and ends up opening the 3rd eye. Yes I know about it as I left this new age junk over 30 years ago. This stuff has nothing to do with biblical Christianity. Throw away your old books and learn from the King James Bible. Jesus was God in the flesh, not a yogi or guru, who came to redeem us from sin and spiritual death.

    Patricia,

Can you please share where in scripture I can find that every Jew had to be saved before they could take the message to the nations. I do not know of any place where Paul taught that. Are you referring only to those who were sent out, or every Jew?
