Kristin know that Jesus in Revelation 2:5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.

Read Luke 15 as that will tell you the answer. The prodigal son came to his senses and returned to the Father.

20 And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.

21 And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son.

    this has a happy ending

How about when he ate food. What about when He let Thomas touch Him and put his hand into His side. He did in fact give the increase of miraculous catch of fish.John chapter 21. Christ also has breakfast waiting for them. Great question ,how often we forget to remind ourselves of who Christ is after his resurrection from the dead. Can you imagine the joy they experienced when they were with Him by the sea. The same place they were called is the same place Christ leaves them. I will always try and reflect on these times in the hour of temptation. Knowing that He is alive and in control!

Karen oh yes the Spirit realm is real and they do communicate with them. This practice is forbidden of the Lord as it is essentially consorting with the enemies of the Lord. Familiar means they are well acquainted with them.

Leviticus 20:27 A man also or woman that hath a familiar spirit, or that is a wizard, shall surely be put to death: they shall stone them with stones: their blood shall be upon them.

Do you wonder why TV and movies have so much witchcraft as the theme

Exodus 22:18 Thou shalt not suffer (allow) a witch to live.

Ann - this is my take and others might disagree.

    1. David had faith and stood on the promises of the Lord. (like with Goliath) He knew the Lord gave them the land

    2. He repented at his own sin and shortcomings. (Bathsheba)

1 Samuel 17:26 And David spake to the men that stood by him, saying, What shall be done to the man that killeth this Philistine, and taketh away the reproach from Israel for who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God

    Read 2 Samuel 12

13 And David said unto Nathan, I have sinned against the LORD. And Nathan said unto David, The LORD also hath put away thy sin; thou shalt not die. (Jesus warned us to repent many times)

Where in the Gospel which Paul, the Apostle to the (us) gentiles, administered is repentance required

The Gospel which Christ administered to Israel required repentance but the Apostle Paul preached salvation through faith in this present dispensation

I'm sorry as I got that commandment mixed up with the second commandment. It applies to graven images. The other thing I usually say is that to understand the Bible, it is always good to also talk to your minister or priest or leader of your church as then you can discuss it in more detail and get and give instant feed back. He generally has more experience in responding; and because of that, would not make mistakes like I do. I like that part of the second commandment so much; and it is so powerful;I simply over done it.

The God of our salvAtion NEVER applies pressure. Any work or gift accounted for the salvAtion of souls comes from the heart of the person to whom God has given the word that He will never take us beyond that which we are able. Pressure is not of the Lord. If pressure were a work given to a soul winner we 'd have no problem soulwinning.

    Your questions are not offensive and there is nothing wrong with learning the truth and hopefully you will accept things by faith as you learn. God commandment is to have no other Gods before him; and it is a power commandment visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourthgenerationof them that hate me;

    6

And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

He sent Christ to die for us and our sins. What do you mean was it a trick We know that it happened in fulfillment as it was predicted in full filament of prophecy; and there were witnesses etc...

You MUST be baptised, to receive salvation it is a requirement of God, that's why Christ was baptised by John the Baptist . Cheers.

The Thief will be in Gods kingdom,God does not lie and keeps his promises. might have been like the Lost son in Luke 15,was previously baptised then lost his way and did wrong then asked Christ forgiveness . Cheers.

Why do you feel that this Bethel Church is a pagan church Are you trying to connect the name, Bethel, with the idolatry that took place there ( 1 Kings 12:32) Please don't leave the Church you are now attending, if they properly teaching from the Word & Christ is the centre in everything they do.

Thank you, I learned it the same way. Adam was a living soul; a little lower than angels and so it is interesting and I wonder what he had to therefore do to become an angel. Also what would have happened to him, if he lost his soul; and i would think that he would have had to continue to be good or learn how to be good or what is good, and do it to become as perfect as angels; and of course if he lost it; then I think he would have to go where men go that have lost their souls; and I think that we can learn what Adam was learning from God, in the Bible as best as we can; and we have Jesus who took our sins for forgiveness; and I expect we will therefore make it; but the job may be in stayin

In verse 14 scripture states that this was the third time that Jesus showed himself to the disciples . Does the Bible say where he was at all of the rest of the time that he walked the Earth after his Resurection Did he do any miracles.

Chris, we here in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, are not gathering together at our church building. We are meeting in small intimate groups at our homes. We also use Zoom and Duo to "see" each other in a greater number. Even these little things are good for us to keep encouraging and edifying each other with the word of God. Reminding each other that we are sinners saved by grace only. We realize that we can do nothing to save ourselves other than believe in the finished work of Jesus on the cross. John 3:14-21. Ephesians 2:8-9. John 5:24. Cheers!

  • Chris on Genesis 1:27 - 5 years ago
I've read the KJV from childhood, so am tickled to read how someone could find Gen 1:27 confusing. And I suppose it is, if you are not accustomed to the older style of English. What the verse is saying in modern English is: "So God created man in His Own Image, in God's Image man was created; both male & female were created by God". There is no indication of man & woman making a 'god of this world'. The god of this world is Satan who was banished from God's Presence because sin was found in him ( Ezek 28:14,15: the king of Tyrus was a type). And this god of the world has full sway on the lives of those (the progeny of Adam & Eve) who disobey the God of Heaven.

Psalm 91 speaks of a destructive or pernicious disease that has far outreaching effects. There is no specific meaning of 'pestilence' in the original Greek, so it could also allow for disease destroying plant & animal life. Though here, it seems to apply to humans. The Bubonic Plague that affected Europe in the Middle Ages is a classic example of Pestilence that, I believe, killed over 30% of its population. The present Corona virus, could also be classified as such, because of its severity, range & resulting deaths. But whether this is a direct act of God against man, or even a prelude to further ravages to come upon us, remains debatable & no doubt, the main topic for some time yet.

  • Chris - In Reply on 1 Peter 2 - 5 years ago
I have to agree with Fred. While it is a demonstration of our love for the Lord & His Word & of faith that God will protect us during this time of infection, we have to ask, how does the world view our gathering together Is it one of a testimony of great faith or one of: 'these Christians are behaving recklessly & compromising the health of our community'. You are fortunate that the govt. still allows your Churches to have their doors open; we can't meet in Australia. But we do need to abide by the laws of the land, particularly now, but if those laws (& they are coming), prohibit Christians from meeting at all or in any way practising their faith & witness, then the Lord's Law overrules.

Prayers for me that I can get past this mental and emotional block I have and stop pushing people away. Be able to gain trust in anyone again and move past the past traumas in my life. Stop living in the past and live each day like it's my last and embrace the love instead of running away from it. God Give me the power to see through the evil and accept the good. I am my own worst enemy. I feel I'm in a loosing battle with the devil and I have no strength to fight it anymore.
  • Chris on Revelation 1 - 5 years ago
Kristin, I believe that when a child responds in simple love & faith to the Lord, that child is precious & kept secure in God's Love - she is saved. His Eyes were always on you in spite of your wandering. I have a similar testimony having left the Lord for many years, being distracted & drawn into the world. But the Spirit was working in me & brought me to a deep repentance, with much tears, of my wicked & pitiful state. I've never looked back & only desire to live for Him & serve Him. The fact that you're concerned about it now, demonstrates God's ongoing interest & love for you. Read the Scriptures daily, particularly the Gospels, & allow His Spirit to bring you to repentance & joy.

Thank you for your thoughts & prayers for Australia. Sadly, it takes crises like these for some to be alerted to the brevity of life & to eternity. Of those, a few will make earnest enquiry to heavenly things, but as the Scripture has warned that in the final days, others will have hearts grow even harder & will further blaspheme His Holy Name ( Rev 16:9). Yes indeed, evangelising must go on until the appointed number of souls are ushered in, & yet, how difficult it has become in the West, with hardened hearts & anti-Christian govts. against righteousness. More are responding to the Gospel in Asia & Africa PTL. My short ministry in S.Asia ('80s) demonstrated good reception to the Gospel.
