Kristin: read in 1 John 1:9, psalm 51, Revelation 3:5

Backsliding means you stood in one place. You're like a prodigal daughter. Come back and re-dedicate your life. Let your yes Be yes and your no's mean no. No waffling. It happens to a lot of people. Doesn't mean it's not important. I sit beside my bed on the floor and confess my wrongs. God hears and forgives. Let faith stand up: you stand forgiven. Like Jesus said to the woman about to be stoned: Go, and sin no more.

Jesus is your Advocate (attorney). Maybe someday you can help someone else.

If you want to spend eternity with Jesus.. get to know him by reading His Word..the Bible.

I prayed every day, last year, for the fires in Australia. Wow. That's when the Lord said it isn't global warming. All of creation is groaning for the return. It feels like birthpains: you just want it to end. You see all the faces who have yet to receive Jesus. We need global evangelizing.

There is no formula. The reason all three of the Godhead are mentioned in Matt 28:19 is because the Jews immersed three times. Today we do it once. But the Jews would dunk three times for baptism. They don't why, except Jesus said when you immerse three times, one's in the name of the Father, one's in the name of the Son, and one's in the name of the Holy Spirit. Guess who changed it Constantine! He said if Jesus told them to do it three times, we're only going to do it once just to be different. That's why Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is used in Matt 28:19. But in Acts 2:38, they baptized in the name of Jesus. So now we have this big battle over baptisms, one is Jewish, and one is Gentile.

  • Chris - In Reply on 1 Peter 1 - 5 years ago
Fred, the points you share are very valid & indeed, with prayer and being in tune to what the Spirit is saying or guiding us in, is paramount. Yet, though the other difficulties presented by using the Interlinear are real, the student does have the opportunity to read the direct translations from the original language (providing faithful manuscripts are being used). It has helped me a lot & caused me to be less dogmatic & judgemental when a Scripture is simply not clear & when the Spirit hasn't given further Light. E.g. 1 Cor 15:29, in reference to 'baptism for the dead'. Unless the Spirit enlightens us or Paul arrives to give us his thoughts, we will always have dispute over this verse.

Any time to witness & pray for all people should be a burden on a believer's heart. And particularly in times of national/world crises, this matter becomes all the more important. The basis of a prayer request is a child of God's cry to the Father imploring Him to act. We know God Hears if we ask in faith (Js 1:6), with a clean heart ( Ps 24:3-5), & according to God's Will ( 1 Jn 5: 14,15): all criteria need to be met. So the pastors who received a Word from God: is it to pray for believers' insulation from the virus or to remove the virus Should we ask also, "why has this come upon us at this time & what is God saying to us through this" May the Spirit help us to pray rightly ( Rom 8:26).

Prayer for Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in Queens, NY. Nurses infected with COVID, losing 78 patients/day. Asking for spirit of death, fear, anxiety, worry, trauma be bound off of workers and patients and loosing and releasing the LORDS light, order, assistance of angels, wisdom of the LORD, witty ideas and solutions, to be with the minds and the hands of those who are making decisions, judgments, care taking for clients and staff so things run seamlessly and effectively.

Christianity of course began with Jesus Christ and after His death, resurrection & ascension into Heaven. The word 'Christian' was at first a derogatory term given by unbelievers to this new 'religious' following: people of The Way ( Acts 9:2, 24:14): in reference to the (new) way they lived. They were also called 'Christians', or Christ's ones/people, first in Antioch ( Acts 11:26). We continue to be called Christians today as just another religious group. But unlike other 'religious' groups, it is only through faith & trust in Jesus Christ, we receive new life (a re-birth), whereas in other religions, they have to apply self effort or self pain to try to gain God's favour & paradise. Sad.

The parable is about making decisions that leave you Places to work/live uninterrupted by poverty/homelessness/slavery. Accused of inefficiency, "wasting" in a competitive world (happens in business). He believed the accounting would not show him efficient. So while he still had authority he gave discounts, thus making obligatory friends in his business category. The master commended because he instantly went from cautionary tale, to glowing example of success, not even losing step, and because he thought through and made a stellar business decision, rather than reacting/fretting; when he could surely have easily preoccupied in the potential doom/gloom.

God requires to use common sense .The last thing the church needs is to be accused of martyrdom.Or irresponsibility toward our fellow man. Is it not bad enough that the war we wage is against spiritual sin and death and our own salvation. Anyone gathering together during this time of uncertainty is clearly wrong. Satan is the great deceiver, even deceiving the very elect. Proverbs 3;6 In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct thy ways.

L you shall find that usually in the king James that when you run across an unusual word that in the context it shall explain what it means esp when used for the first time. The Websters 1828 dictionary is also a useful resource online or in print. He was a believer and a linguistic word scholar who knew the Biblical languages of Hebrew and Greek.

The night before reading this, I woke up from a dream and I heard "peculiarly or perfectly perpendicular".

As I was reading Amos, the word plumbline stood out, never heard the term used before so I looked it up. Then searched for perpendicular and when I seen the definition of one of the descriptions as being plumb, I got so excited! I had been praying for YHWY to send me a word and He did.

When God said He was setting a plumb line among His people, He was declaring an end to their attempts to justify their crooked ways. The Lord was setting the standard.

We need to line up our lives according to God's plumb line rather than than our own agenda. We are God's peculiar people.

She's bringing the wrong people (demon spirit filled people) in her home and I'm asking that God removed them away from my 7 year old son and his 4 year old brother (clean that household) in Jesus name, Amen.

FAUSTO: in the KJV Bible, most of the chapters give a brief historical comment on what was happening; some mention the writer of them. There are reference Bibles that have a lot more information.

I used to skim through too lol, but now I read those first.

I heard a radio preacher say today that the church is being given a huge opportunity to witness, evangelize and pray for people.

A week ago a group of pastors prayed and a word of knowledge was given that our faith can stand against corona virus.

If enough people were praying the same thing...God watches over His Word to perform it. Intercessory Prayer works. It's happened in the past in this country. It's on record. What's your take on this

For Peter: in Genesis 1:26..and God said, LET US make man in OUR image, after OUR likeness; and let them have dominion (over everything on earth) EXCEPT other man. No place did he give people dominion over each other. LET US means that Father, Son, Holy Spirit we're doing the creating. Adam was spiritually connected to God. Eve was made not from the earth initially; she was made from Adams rib. After Adam and Eve sinned the spiritual connection was severed. They had to leave the garden of eden. We descended from them: soul and flesh. Mankind waited for the Savior & Redeemer to appear in history. Being born again reconnects is to God, spiritually. This is how I learned it. Anybody else

For Howard Dishmon: I went through that with my Dads death. We were real close. I would wear his shirts and pray to die. If it's not our time, it's not. Slowly I joined the living again. One night I had a dream, in color. It's never faded. He was walking towards me down our family home driveway. He was young, smiling with that eye twinkle I loved. I woke up. Later it was like God had shown me that my Dad was with Him and not destroyed by Alzheimer's anymore. Life continues but our loved ones wait for our arrival there. Why would God break their hearts by allowing loved ones see us struggle, on earth Live. Stay close to God. Ask the Holy Spirit to come alongside you & comfort you.

I have written letters that have been inspired by the holy Spirit. I have a high school edu. Amazing, while reading the old testament I have seen words that I have used without knowing it! Remember Jesus chose 12 men with pure hearts. That is all you need is a pure heart that loves Jesus. He will make the rest happen! Paul not unlike yourself was a pharisee of all pharisees. A levite of the tribe of Benjamin! He will use you to!

If you think the kjv is difficult reading the interlinear isn't any easier written by George Ricker Berry. The revelation of scripture is conquered through prayer. I have read the KJV since the beginning. In the late 1950 the revised standard version made its first appearance since than we have many, many more. I read the bible literally, for what it says. The holy spirit must not be dictated too. I 'm sorry that you have a hard time with it! But remember why should it be easy It is after all the word of God! Their are many preachers who are making a living today using other texts. If you can get enough church's agreeing on 1 interpretation ,why not have 1 church Remember the hid leaven

    I have a question.

"... male and female created..." "...he them."

So if he/them is actually a dynamic, or dichotomy,(the age old us vs them battle) ,instead of the face value, simple translation I have always interpreted as ancient people talking funny and putting words in the wrong place.

so god made man, then made woman and when male and female communed they made god in the world instead of just above"

I'm trying to unlearn and relearn. Anyone have any ideas
