Marilyn, the word "generation" has a couple of usages in Scripture. As in the book of Genesis & Mathew 1:17 for example, it clearly applies to a timeline or family line. In other cases, Generation, can apply to people in general over any period of time (e.g. Luke 21:32, Acts 2:40, 1 Pet 2:9). I realize it gets confusing, but Scripture needs to be in its context: who is the writer writing about, was it an event taking place at that time, or was it referencing people then & in the future You are right, many in today's generation have turned their face from God & His Gift of Salvation. We must pray especially for those in our families who have heard the Gospel - that Light will shine to them.

Hey Kevin Mack - I understand your concerns. there was a time in my lifetime when America was a somewhat Godly country. We had Bible reading and prayer in public school when I was very young. the streets were safe with little crime, divorce was rare and people generally respected each other. Look at the USA today with abortion common, sodomite marriage and murder rampant. Judgment is coming and the church has generally been more concerned about tithes than anything else. Paul tells us the Lord promises us basically 2 things food and clothes

1 Timothy 6:8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

Jesus warned we would be hated and have trouble in this world it has just begun

God also says that there is neither male or female, Jew or Greek, slave or free man, but that we are all one in Christ Jesus and, further, if we belong to Christ, that we are Abraham's descendants and heirs according to the promise. To preach that women should be silent and not teach or usurp authority over a man is to bring yourself under the bondage of the flesh, because the word teaches us that there is no male or female when you walk in the spirit

Troy, you are correct that the AV, as others, are just translations; they will never fully meet the interpretation, cultural, & societal aspects that are involved in original languages. The AV is the best we can have to read God's Word without learning Heb. & Gk. along with understanding the culture behind them. Your proficiency in Hebrew & Greek is to your credit & benefit & for our learning from such scholars. But to hold such disdain against the AV is a little harsh, I feel. Ps 89:47: for the literal translation in English reads: "Remind me how short life is, what (in futility) have You created all the sons of men". The word, , futility (vain) is what you show as nothingness.

Adam, I agree that it is a sin to get drunk because we're to be sober-minded. ( 1 Peter 4:7, 2 Timothy 4:5).These people weren't drinking moderately because they were already drunk. If it is a sin to be drunk, why would Jesus give them more wine if they were already drunk They bring out good wine first, and after everybody has been drinking for a few days, if they run out of the good wine, they bring out the cheap stuff. Nobody knows the difference because they are pretty intoxicated by then! They ran out, and were given 120 to 180 gallons more. If they're already drunk, and are given another 180 gallons of wine, how do you conclude that since Jesus did this, it's okay to drink moderately

If you are confused about accepting the Lord as your savior I will tell you from experience it's the BEST thing I ever did. The only thing that is holding you back is the devil, he does not want to you to go to the light and he will do everything he can to keep you from taking that next step. Watch sermons on Charles Stanley he is an amazing preacher and explains things so well. I pray you take that net step your talking about eternity, there are only two places to go once our earthly life is over and heaven is the place to be. If you already believe your half way there but you have to take that next step and invite Him into your heart, repent of your sins & confess with your mouth God bless

Sedalia, you have touched on one of my pet subjects: govts. legislating laws & judiciary performance of them. This is for me very devastating. We need to understand that our Western govts. are largely based on Judaeo-Christian beliefs & laws, & they are not Christian govts. & will legislate according to what they believe is correct for society & according to public opinion (after all they are in power because of our votes). So, they will never be perfect, nor can we expect them to be, until the coming of the Holy & Just Judge, our Saviour. With that in mind, govts. have deemed that divorce, re-marriage, gay marriage, abortion, etc. are legal. How will they stand before God in that Day

I am currently separated from my family. After 8 years of marriage and 3 children, my wife is deadset that divorce is the only option. I have made a terrible choice and caused lots of hurt and betrayal. Though this I have found Jesus and declared him as my savior. I have repented my sins to him and given my life over to him. I have also been seeking professional help to better myself. I ask for help praying that my wife's heart will soften and she will consider other options than divorce and tearing the family apart. Pray that my daughter can forgive me and want me back. Pray that the wounds I have caused to my family will be healed and not leave a nasty scar. Pray for my strength and patien

I'm shaken to my very soul, I just read Matthew : chapter's 24 and 25 great fear grips me when I see the politicians close the churches. At the same time I read psalm 121 I wonder what will happen to us here in America. I want this psalm to come to pass for me and the other saints as well. God please let us find away to understand both passages of scripture. Give us till 2024, or rapture us out of here. I'm wanting psalm 121 to be real for me.

The fear the Bible talks about is used with negative "not" refers to the condition in which we approach God.Because before Jesus ,our ancestors were given the covenant of Law on Mount Sinai to follow to live in peace with God. But the were dying like insect by a little mistake. In this way, the had been afraid to approach the Lord. Even animals died when the approached. Moses even said it that he was afraid to go near. They broke the covanant He told Jeremiah to let them know that he was about to make a new covenant with them which is of" LOVE AND PEACE not Of FEAR.(JER:31:33-34.)this is Jesus. Then through Jesus we are bound to God and live in peace andgo to God without fear..

the Bible ALONE teaches man has a body and a soul and a sprit = 3 parts = 1 man

Genesis 1:26 - And God said, Let US make man in our image, after OUR likeness

Genesis 1:27 - So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. Genesis 9:6 - Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.

So IF one man is Body, Soul and Spirit which is 3 parts and God made man in HIS IMAGE

How many parts is God 3

1 Thess 5:23 - And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. spirit, soul, body

At any rate,John M. offers one of the few comments that indicates individuals should look outside the box (television that is) when it comes to truth. I find it astonishing how most people seem to base their entire views upon the sights and sounds which emanate from that man-made device. The popular media sources in general are lean on truth, yet it seems that television in particular dominates the landscape. There is an immediate revelation and a remote one in many passages. With this in mind let us consider Psalm 16:8 as well as 1 Peter 2:6 with regard to finding truth in this world. One can inquire of the Lord anytime about anything, past, present, and future. May God have mercy on us all.

If the Lord has no preserved word, then he is a failure and satan wins. Those who tell you this word is mistranslated are usually unbelievers and satanists. Thayer's Lexicon (he was a unitarian) who did not believe in the Deity of Christ and his word definitions reflect this. Then others claim the bible has "errors" Just because you do not understand something does not make it an error.

Why did the translation in the KJV use the word Broken when there was nothing Broken in The Body of Christ...

And Jesus never said His Body would be Broken, but only Given....

Hello, Jesus's first miracle was turning water into alcoholic wine which was at a party, as confirmed by this verse: John 2:10. Since Jesus did this I do not believe it is a sin to drink moderately. However, it is a sin to get drunk. It's also a sin to lead others into temptation or to stumble, for example, a recovering alcoholic is with you and you order a drink. 1 Corinthians 8:9-13

Yes, in the old testament the elder of the group was ordained to cover the door posts with the sacrifice blood using Hyssop.I had asked the same question recently ,since we are not able to gather. I referred to the old testament only because our situation today is very similar to the passover in that time. The most important objects are the wine and bread, along with Jesus words!Making sure to use his words when taking the sacrament! Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord. Hosanna. Hosanna in the highest.

Why do the courts justify a man leaves his living wife and marry another Being married to a second wife while the first wife still lives Why dont the courts honor what God's law says vs what man's law

I love the Authorized Version, but it's just a translation. I've read it really 40 years. But I also read Hebrew and Greek, so I know the AV is NOT infallible. "Remember how short my time is: wherefore hast thou made all men in vain" should really be translated as "on nothingness Thou has CREATED all the sons of ADAM". It's pathetic errors like this in the AV--and other English translations--that show how limited it is at times. Shalom. Troy

I would like share my thoughts on whether or not a Christian should drink alcohol. When I learned the literal definition of the word faith meant persuasion, it gave me a whole new look on things. I used to drink alcohol, even as a believer. You see, as believers, we live by faith, or more literally from out of faith, as a source. Romans Chapter 14 says that that which is not of faith is sin. When I know that faith means persuasion, I come to realize that anything I do, which I am not being persuaded by God's Spirit to do, it is sin. I think of faith as the presence and activity of God's Spirit in a believers life. What is He persuading me to do Is He persuading me to take that drink

Verse#6 said this is the generation that seek his face I have a difficult time with that verse because I am not

aware of this Generation seeking God. I don't know everything , but some of today's Generation is not seeking

God. Some of them are the Lowest and most sinful. I know that God's word is true in V.6, but I pray that this

Generation is not lost! Not only me praying , but this Generation must also Pray. Some of them say that they

have heard this Bible "stuff" all of their lives. I pray that when they are Old they will not forget God!

The Jews believe Christians are blasphemers because we believe in God the Father, Yeshua/Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit..Why does God proclaim to be the only God in Isaiah when John 1 tells us that in reference to Yashua/Jesus..the world was made by him for him and through him and God the Father calls Jesus/Yashua god in Hebrews 1:9

Believers do not become Sons of God until they are born again of the Spirit in the new testament.

John 1:12 But as many as received (Jesus) him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

Romans 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

1 John 3:2 Beloved, NOW now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
