For me, this great act of the tearing of the Veil, is both one of personal gratitude (as you have shared) for the casting off the shackles of sin's bondage & entering into the Holiest Place, & also one of great sadness. Sadness, because the priests who saw this Divine Act coupled with an earthquake, yet refused to bow before the One whom they crucified. Rather they schemed to have the stone covering the entrance to Jesus' sepulchre guarded lest "the last error shall be worse than the first"( Mt 27:64). They knew they had done a great wrong & even to this day "when Moses (the Law) is read, the veil is upon their hearts"( 2 Cor 3:13-17). Such is Satan's work - BUT greater is Jesus' Sacrifice.

18 Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.... this verse apply so well, as it relate to SALVATION, because this verse is foolishness to the mind of a person not SAVED according to verses such as John 3:16-21, ...., ...., etc., especially if Time allow us to consider how we foolishly gave 5 - 60 years of our life to this and that and finally we reach that point in life and still we do not realize we have deceived /entertained our-self's foolishly. Never-the-less the POWER OF GOD through verses such as John 3:16-21, ..., is there for us to apply it thereby reserve a personal seat at the MARRIAGE SUPPER..

Many are now trying to place this Corona virus outbreak within the scope of Scripture. There is no mention of it specifically, nor should we expect to see it. This outbreak, as with other major turmoils the world has faced (earthquakes, hurricanes, tsunamis, diseases, massacres, etc), falls under the broad category of the sufferings mankind faces because of his inherent sin & its effect on God's creation. Of course, there will be increasing turmoils that ultimately lead to the final outpouring of God's Anger upon this world, known as the Great Tribulation. You can read about this time in Revelation chapters 6-9 mainly. It will be an awful time ahead - Corona virus will be like an itch only

Secondly, the length of hair is not the 'long hair' we are familiar with, but when he adorns himself as a woman (of those days) did (v14). But if man (read: anyone reading Paul's passage on this issue) is contentious about what Paul has said, Paul writes that he has no other option to give nor from God's Church. (v 16). There may have been some who were under a Nazarite vow which included the non-cutting of the hair ( Numbers 6). But whether Paul was referring to any of those in the Church, or if they, after completion of their vow, failed to also trim their hair, is not certain. But what is clear from 1 Cor 11, is that there is an order in the Church - we choose to obey it or not.

Re: Mishael on 1 Cor 11:3 >. This is 'dangerous' ground where even angels (& some preachers) fear to tread, but it is Scripture & should be examined. Poor apostle Paul has taken a beating over the years by many women over this passage, as it not only speaks of hair length, but of covering the head & the position of man and woman in creation & in God's Sight. Firstly, head covering when praying or prophesying, is not a cultural matter, but a spiritual & positional one before God & the angels (vv 3-11). We have now made it cultural, thereby largely doing away with it in our meetings.

This Hebrew word has been difficult to correctly translate. However, it is generally accepted that it means: to pause or to reflect at the end of the 'verse' (on what has just been read or sung). At times, it could also mean some type of musical term or provide musical direction. We know that Psalms, in Hebrew, are poetic in nature and often sung, especially to musical accompaniment: (see James 5:13). Also when the Lord spent his final hours with his disciples in the Upper Room, at the end of their meal, they had sung a hymn (very likely a Psalm) & then went out to the Mt. of Olives. However, Selah could possibly allow for some thanks and praise, as was suggested to you.

ANXIETY:

Matthew 6:25-34, Jesus is teaching on cares and worries of this world. Two thousand years later we still need this compassionate sermon. We still worry and feel anxious even tho we know Jesus tells us not to.

I'm thinking of Passover tonight and Jesus's sacrifice for us. When it was finished, the veil in the Temple was torn from top to bottom! It was so huge no priest could've done that. It was a statement of great magnitude. Jesus has done so much for me. I want to be more like Him.

I haven't a clue. Maybe it's because Paul had Gentiles, Greeks and Jews in his meetings. They argued about circumcision too. It must have been hard to turn their minds from law to grace.

Someone or an angel told me that it is the same as saying, thank you Jesus, or praises to my Lord and savior or hallelujah thank you Jesus. Is that true???

Perhaps the five foolish virgins are an analogy for the five physical senses, which we are told not to be guided by them.

I completely agree that the Holy Spirit gives us the power to do whatever God asks us to do. I was merely commenting on the word as translated.

In verse 16, Paul says that if you would like to argue about hair length, it is up to you as this has nothing to do with God's people. We judge by the heart, not outward appearance. I cannot imagine Jesus complaining about how long or short someone's hair is.

I think Jesus is the Word also. Look at 1st John 5 and Revelation 19:13

Sir, you've done no wrong. It's not what we eat that defiles us, but what comes out of the mouth ( Matt. 15:11). It's the evil that comes out of the mouth that defiles because it comes from the heart. Also, I want to share something I have learned about the so called greatest commandments spoken in Matthew Chapter 22. Those are not commandments at all. Our English bibles look like they are commands, but in the Greek text, they are not in command form but are statements of fact. Jesus was not commanding us to love Him or our neighbor. What He was saying is that if you have born of His Spirit, you will love the Lord you God, and you will love your neighbor. Not a command but statement of fact.

It's what comes out of the mouth, the evil a person speaks, because that comes from the heart. Also, I want to share something else here that I have learned. The two "greatest commandments" in Matthew Chapter 22, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God, and love thy neighbor, are not commands. Our bibles make it sound like they are commands, but the Greek text shows that they are not commands. Jesus is not commanding us to love Him or our neighbor. He's giving us a factual statement, you will love, if you have my Spirit in you. Fact!

My pastor always says if I give you a verse, you take the chapter, when we read Philippians 4 especially verse 13 we also need to read verse 11 & 12. Paul speaks about having it all and living well and of having nothing and suffering yet knowing he can do all things, he can survive and continue to spread the word of Jesus no matter what the circumstances in his life because Jesus gives him the strength to do His (Jesus') work. Because Jesus is leading him and keeping him on the path through all obstacles.
