I agree with you that Jesus covered things that will happen during the end times. But it is true that He was speaking to the twelve.
The only thing I would like to change is my statement saying "Jesus is not speaking about people enduring through the end time tribulation."
That would be incorrect for me to say that. There will be people who endure and will make it through the tribulation. There will also be people who get saved during that time.
So, as for that statement I made, I would like to change it to read "Jesus is not speaking about the church enduring through the end time tribulation."
Blessings!
I hope this helps. Need more info please let me know. Thanks and God bless
20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.
So, yes I believe one can lose their salvation. On the verse James 5:20 "Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins." this is speaking of hiding a multitude of the "sinners" sins, not the person who helped him out of it. It's assumed that the person who helped him out of it is saved and hasn't fallen away, he is already covered by the blood of Jesus.
Hope that helps, God bless
19 Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him;
20 Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.
NASB on verse 19 instead of "err", it says "strays" from the truth.
NIV says "wander" from the truth.
James is written to Christ followers- the twelve tribes and calls them brothers and sisters and the writing seems to suggest they have faith, like 1:3. And suggests they have assemblies (church) like 2:1.
First thing I notice is it acknowledges that a Christ follower can fall away, stray, wander, err from the truth. This might mean the Christian temporarily is not following Christ, maybe takes a detour, gets a flat tire, gets confused and goes the wrong way for a short time like I do when driving. Some Christians believe it is impossible to stay or fall away, so this verse might be a surprise to them.
Next, it suggests that the one who stayed is endanger of hell (save a soul from death), so this err from the truth is quite serious.
But it suggests that someone who helps correct the person shall hide/cover a multitude of sins. This is the part I find most interesting. What do you think it means? Could those like Billy Graham who spent their lifetime preaching and trying to convert the lost have more forgiveness or more 'more' grace?
There is different verses that God refers to angels as sons of God. If you what be happy to send it
To Gigi
In Isaiah he writes about the fall of Lucifer. In it he is referred as (SON OF THE MORNING). We looked and except in one place does it say (SON OF THE MORNING STAR). That was at the end of revelation. They were referring to Jesus.
God created the angels. He called them Sons of God. Now (SON OF THE MORNING). Son here is Lucifer / morning is God! In revelation (SON OF THE MORNING STAR). The son (star) here refers to Jesus. And the Morning is God.
If more info is needed please let me know. With much love and God bless
.....But Rev.11:15 is very clear....The Kingdoms of this world have become the Kingdoms of our lord and his Christ and he shall REIGN FOR EVER AND EVER...No offence Gi Gi But you do greatly err...And God sends an angel to preach the everlasting gospel to all that dwell on the earth... Rev 14:6...Do you see the folly of your doctrine...of no kingdom on this earth...And Jesus sends his disciples to preach the gospel to ALL THE WORLD TO every creature....And sends the manchild the H.G. that Child of Promise to rule ALL NATIONS...Why wd God do all these things if there were no kingdom on this beautiful earth....Beautiful for situation simply b/c its gonna be situated in our hearts where the KINGDOM SEED IS SOWN
....And Isaiah 11:9...( says that KNOWLEGE shall cover the earth as the waters cover the seas...Thats y he wants to KNOW US...Remember that tree of KNOWLEGE in the Garden of God...And Habakkuk 2:14...Knowledge shall cover the earth as the waters cover the seas and the Earth shall be full of the GLORY OF THE LORD....(THE KINGDOM)....This knowledge is an intimacy that is gona result in a birth of Christ in everyone...Thats y Jeremiah saw ALL men in travail and birth pains... Jeremiah 30:6...We are gonna birth a baby Christ which is the H.G...That Child of Promise...If i be lifted up i will draw ALL men unto me...Jesus plainly tells us the Kingdom of God will come as a man who sows seed in his field....And he said the field is our hearts the world....But we must remember that this is the bridegroom speaking...Thats y he has to know us in order to sow that heavenly seed in our hearts....Which is a baby Christ...Unless you receive the Kingdom of God as a lil CHILD you will in no wise enter there in...The man child.
It says somewhere Pierre1939 that in the last days the Spirit of the Lord will be distributed throughout the earth. And young men shall vision and old shall dream. So it is and so it will be as God has decreed. The angle you mention here is absolutely right. We've had it that way for 2023 years at least. Unless the calendar is messed with. Think so big that we SHALL have the same Holy Spirit on board. Like that shall we recognize the Lord. In Luke 24:28-31 we see that eyes of The disciples opened. So it is with us, too. Today, tribulations and struggles can veil our eyes. But suddenly, when the battle is over, the veil pulls away and we can see once again all that is around us. Not only that, but in the sacred name of Jesus Christ, He's still fighting the spiritual battle, I've heard that twice in my life. Also seen in my spirit. It's like the sound of lots of water and a storm like no other.
We call it spirit battles. Then the Lord fights for ppl lives. In our lives after He has saved us. Are we in this fight. Therefore, we also know evil and what it entails. Therefore, the Lord allows us to know of good. That we may know that He is with us always, even to the end of the world. Thank you for what you share, have a blessed Easter and never tire of lifting our sword against the powers who stand against us.
John 14:9 shows how Christ rather emphatically questions Philip as to his compression of God the Father when in the presence of His Son. This verse is by no means isolated where He states what seems to be obvious as to His inevitable death on the cross; as well as His divinity. Matthew 16:17 shows what seems to be an incredible swing in Peter's life from supernatural wisdom from the Spirit; to being influenced by Satan himself just a few verses later in Matthew 16:23 when Jesus says "get behind me Satan."
Mark 10:33 as well as an equivalent passage in Luke and others in Mark 9 make it clear that Jesus repeatedly explained His fate.
This should serve as a warning to us; along with of course Peter's prophesied betrayal and denial of Christ (which BTW also was what the other disciples did; without making such a bold proclamation of loyalty as Peter did).
The Pharisees; clearly should have known who Christ was; as well as those residents of Chorazin; Bethsaida and Capernium ( Matt. 11:21-22) whose judgments were to be greater than Sodom and Gomorrah who apparently would have repented seeing such things. This is; to say the least a sobering statement. Clearly apart from Divine Revelation we all are blinded.
Romans 5:7-8 shows how although someone may die for a righteous man; for wicked rebels as us who would want to do so?
But the Father from the beginning had some who would be called His own; and chosen (see John 6:37 and many other verses in John on the subject of Predestination also some of my segments on that subject in discussing John).
As the Spirit strives against the flesh ( Galatians 5:17); we realize that we don't love God in our old nature once the Spirit takes residence. We understand not only consequences of our sin; but that we don't want to grieve the Spirit ( Ephesians 4:30). It must be love which leads us to obedience ( John 14:15). Apart from grace our efforts are in vain.
God has given you a new name.
The resurrection made all things NEW, including your name.
Isaiah 62:2 ...... and thou shall be called by a new name ....
Revelation 2:17 ...and I will give him a white stone, and in that stone a NEW NAME written, which no man knoweth but he that RECEIVETH it.
Revelation 3:12 ...and i will write upon him my new name ...
If you don't YET know your new name, the word of God tells you what that name is.
You were married to Christ by his and your resurrection TOGETHER, the bride takes the name of her husband,
You were baptised in the NAME of Jesus.
There was only ONE BODY raised at the resurrection, and that ONE BODY was given LIFE by ONE SPIRIT.
1 Corinthians 12:27 NOW you are the body of Christ .....
Luke 8:11 .... the SEED is the WORD OF GOD .....
Isaiah 59:21 And this is my covenant with them (YOU), saith the Lord, the words that I (the Father) have put in your (Christ's) mouth, shall not depart out of your (Christ is the WORD, the SEED) mouth, nor out of thy SEED (your born again by the WORD of GOD----you become SEED) nor out of the mouth of thy SEED'S SEED (your are going to bear fruit---SEED), saith the Lord, from henceforth (the resurrection) and forever.
You are the BODY OF CHRIST.
Revelation 19:16 And he had on his vesture and on his thigh (body) written, THE LORD OF LORDS AND THE KING OF KINGS
Revelation 19:13 ...and his name is called THE WORD OF GOD ....
Revelation 1:1 The REVELATION (the revealing) of Jesus Christ .....
Revelation 1:11 .... I AM .... the first (man) ....I AM .... the last (man)
Exodus 3:13 .... I AM that I AM .... I AM hath sent ME to YOU ....
John 17:22 ...and the GLORY that thou has given me, I have GIVEN THEM ....that they may be ONE as we are ONE ...
You were given a NEW NAME, a gift of GOD, by the death and resurrecting of CHRIST.
God bless you.
The Lord along with at least 2 Apostles lived with an understanding of their time of death approaching (Paul after being warned what would come to pass in Jerusalem; and Peter after Christ's questioning his love for Him). There was always care to the disciples in the case of Christ; and the church in regard to Paul's ministry in particular but certainly Peter and others as well which superceded their own sufferings. This takes Spirit filled living of course; as well as loving our enemies ( Matt. 5:44). Jesus showed the ultimate example of concern at the cross (See John 19:26-27) when John brought Mary into his home (indicating; of course that Joseph had passed away by this point along with his absence in this passage).
Our natural inclination would be to react as Matthew 16:22 as Peter did to the thought of Christ going to the cross if we are honest. Good Friday is only good to us if we go beyond some ritual commemorating suffering without understanding His substitutionary death results in our atonement and ultimately commenced in victory at the Resurrection. This is how ugly our sins were and of course it demonstrates how we were yet sinners and Christ died for us; His enemies ( Romans 5:8). Christ; of course chose to do the Father's will; He was in one sense the victim of circumstances; but these were predestined to bring us to glory. The Father in Isaiah 53:10 was pleased to crush His Son; we cannot comprehend this as to the Godhead; or as to how great His love is for us.
Therefore let us commit our whole lives to patiently serving God; and believing that He is a rewarder of those who do good and diligently serve Him. ( Heb. 11:6). May we minister to the Body as we are all adopted sons; and no longer of this world. Isaiah 53:11 shows how Christ will enjoy the result of His suffering; Psalm 91:16 may apply to our future as well.
As you probably are aware; many elements of the Exodus are similar to what goes on during the Tribulation judgments; such as water being turned into blood andarkness being brought to part of the earth. The hardening of Pharoah is much like the Antichrist after he rids himself of the two witnesses (a bit like Moses and Aaron in their prophesying). We see the physical preservation of those that escape the "flood" that comes out of the mouth of the Beast ( Rev. 12:15)-called the serpent. Much like the Egyptians on their suicidal mission to get the Jews back we see Antichrist and his armies fighting Christ at His return ( Psalm 2). There are some who physically survive and thus; are judged as to whether they are true believers or just rebels from the remnant who haven't taken the mark of the Beast among the Jews; it would seem. It is a sobering thought that circumstances don't change sheep from goats; as we see another rebellion at the end of the Millenium after a world that is as close to Paradise as mortal man can experience.
On this day; of course we are reminded of Christ's sacrificial death; atonement and ultimate Resurrection defeating death and hell as a result of our sins which He took on when nailed to the cross. Isaiah 63:3 and many other passages demonstrate that the wrath of God must be satisfied either in His method of substitutionary sacrifice or in His wrath at Armageddon when He judges the world or at the death of all unregenerate individuals suffering their eternal fate separated from God in hell.
Let us live consistent with being a peculiar people ( 1 Peter 2:9); also referencing our priesthood (it is good to read the whole verse). The hidden inner man is what contrasts us from the rest of the world; not an outside veneer of religion.
I agree that being obedient is commanded and important for people intending to follow Jesus. If they aren't following what Jesus says its a valid question to ask if they are following Jesus at all.
Not sure exactly what you meant by gospel teachings not covered.
The teachings in the NT echo those in the OT. The ten commandments are still applicable. "Do not kill", for example. Or bearing false witness (lying).
Romans, James, and other books describe good works is good. Doing good doesn't mean you're trying to earn heaven and bypass grace- that is the number one false assumption some young Christians make- and some just can't seem to assume the opposite that good is bad, and going bad is good. Clever switcharoo by the enemy to convince people of this. As if Jesus in the Bible is teaching us to NOT do what He says, but, nonetheless, this has to be explained quite often. But thankfully, its in the Bible, so people should just read what it says directly. For example: James 2:14
The other point that came up from reading through your pages, was the great lack of pulpit preaching & teaching about the work of the Holy Spirit in the believer's life. This might be generally believed by all because God has given His children His Presence within them, but how often we fail to apply the significance, the power, & the manifestation of God's Spirit's Work in our lives. We may then be persuaded to read the NT as 'Jesus has done His blessed Work at Calvary to save & redeem us unto the Father, but now we must do our part to maintain that new life & bring honor & glory to His Name'.
On the surface this would be commendable, but we would miss out on the vital message of this new life & new indwelling Spirit: that the Spirit is continually present & continually working in & through the believer's life; that the very presence of a child of God in a godless world, is the vessel of Light & Truth that must shine and that Light will continue to shine & affect others if we are conscious of the Holy Spirit within & allowing Him to work out God's Purposes through us. Our efforts will be there for sure, but if our efforts are a result of the Spirit's out-working, then Who is actually doing the work? And who are the vessels, purified, sanctified, "and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work"? ( 2 Timothy 2:21). Every blessing brother.
I quoted scripture, is scripture a false witness, the name at the top of the page is not the one speaking.
Is scripture deception, or is the carnal mind the one that deceives.
John 16:8 And when he (the spirit of truth) is come, he will reprove the world of SIN
Do you believe he (the spirit of truth) will reprove THE WORLD of SIN?
You know he has eternity, is that long enough to reprove the world of sin?
If you believe man has to accept God's gift of his own self, then your don't really believe we are saved by grace and not works of ourself.
Ezekiel 36:27 And I will put my spirit IN YOU and CAUSE YOU to walk in my statues, and ye will keep my judgements, and DO THEM.
One of his statutes is to BELIEVE his words, Now, is he CAUSING you to believe, or is you carnal mind rebelling against his word.
Philippians 2:13 For it is God that WORKETH IN YOU both TO WILL and TO DO his good pleasure.
These are not my words.
Is it sin not to believe his words, is he going to REPROVE the WORLD of SIN?
God Bless you, my brother in Christ.
Lord thank you for hearing my prayer.
