    Hey Jesse,

Thanks, I appreciate that, I agree it is not a contest, we learn from each other. We should be open to other understandings and humble to study for the truth and be thankful if we are shown it. Like I told S Spencer I can see both views, but I have not been able to fit it into Revelation and the scriptures line up. That is why we were told to study.

    God bless,

Here in Gen. 10, we see a quick rundown of the lineages of Ham and Japheth, and last but not least, Shem; but it is rather striking that for Ham and Japheth, no reckoning of their ages and lifespans appears to exist. Certainly not here... while on the other hand, Shem's male offspring are listed generally as having 400-500 year lifespans, apparently in direct contradiction to the remark of God in Gen. 6:3, that He will no longer strive with man, and will reduce his lifespan to 120 years.

It's not explicitly discussed after this (as far as I know), and Ham's and Japheth's lineages fade out of view, and obviously it's because Shem's lineage leads to the Messiah. And eventually we see this lineage lead to Abraham, whose lifespan was "only" 175 years, but it's probably safe to "read between the lines" here and assume Shem's offspring retained really long lifespans because they were in the lineage of the Messiah, while Shem's brothers' lineages shrank to 120 years after God's pronouncement in Gen. 6:3 and the imminent Flood.

    (Part 3)

    Babu,

I will finish this up here, I promise!

In John 20:29, "Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed."

Jesus is saying I came down to your level. I met your demands, and gave you the proof that you need. But the blessing, which is the word MAKARIOS, the same word as is used on the sermon on mount which means to experience the fullness of something.

Jesus is saying that I will be in you, but you will experience the fullness of my presence in your life when you believe without seeing. So He is telling him, you believe because you have seen. But from now on the blessing will be to those who have not seen and yet have believed.

    (Part 2)

    Babu,

Do you see how the theme in this is to take Mary Magdalene, and the disciples, and now Thomas, and take them from the physical to the spiritual, from depending on touching and seeing and hearing, to believing by faith?

He's bringing a change about in Thomas' life. He is called a sincere doubter. He says do not become faithless but be believing.

Please notice that it doesn't say that Thomas actually went over and touched Him. Jesus is actually giving him the invitation. "Here you go Thomas."

And you expect that if Thomas was really a doubter in the spiritual sense, that he probably would come over and touched Him and said I still don't believe it!

But look at Thomas' response in John 20:28, his confession: And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.

You can't get a better confession to the deity of Christ than Thomas's confession. You see, it didn't take much for Thomas. The Lord gave him the proof that he needed.

He bends to our weaknesses to prove Himself, but it is for the purpose of bringing us from the physical realm into the spiritual, into the life of faith.

And the Lord does that for us because that is the process of growth and change for every believer. And so in the Lord's care, He brings a change and Thomas says, My Lord and my God.

Both the word Lord and God have the definite article in the Greek text. There is no doubt of what he's calling Jesus. "The" Lord, and "The" God!

He is not just calling Him God, but he says, you are my Lord and my God. You see he has been changed. The Lord ministered to him. He is a sincere doubter!

    Indeed and correct
  • Jesse - In Reply - 1 year ago
    Babu,

    (Part 1)

I tend to believe so based on John 20:27. There is a tremendous message given to us in John 20:36-29 where we see the proof given to Thomas.

Verse 26 tells us that after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and this is a Perfect Tense, it has been barred.

I think it's kind of interesting that Jesus has already appeared to them eight days prior. They know that Jesus is risen from the dead. He has commissioned them, and they still sit there with the doors locked. It is like it hasn't really had its affect yet!

So Thomas is there. Maybe they were just doing it for Thomas' sake? "Hey, will you guys just lock the doors please." No, you don't understand, we've seen the Lord, you don't have to worry about it! "Well, lock it anyway will you." But they barred the door and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you.

In Verse 27, the word "then" the conjunction means then in succession. Right after He said peace be unto you, He turns directly to Thomas and He tells him in command, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and become not faithless, but believing.

Notice how I translated that. It is not the word "be." It is the word "become." When you translate it "be," it sounds like that's what he is right now. The Lord knows his heart. The Lord knows he is sincere.

Thomas is not going to believe just what anybody says. He wants proof, and the Lord gave him the proof. Do not become faithless but believing. That is a command. He's not saying he is. He says don't become that, but be believing.

I am feeling led to share a dream I had while sleeping recently. ( Jeremiah 23:28-30, )

the dream; There was a man & woman that seemed "closed off" like not wanting to get involved or be helpful, they seemed pleasant, polite. They were closing the front door of their home. Me & my 2 sons were in a vehicle, in the driveway of that man & woman. The house was on the left. I heard the LORD say in my spirit, "I AM now going to judge the greedy, rich, & corrupt." I felt a fearful Awe. Instantly the wind started blowing. My sons noticed something & told me to look. They insisted. I looked more intently. There were two trees. One seemed more like a bush, the other like a small tree. One was pulled up by the wind with roots blown left possibly at the back of house. We couldn't see damage. Then the electric poles that were in front of us & to the left were ripped up, & pulled that same direction. We knew it was going to cause a continued reaction, from the connected powerlines behind us. Before we could turn around to look back, the powerlines were dragged upon & over our vehicle, lighting it up with the electricity. Then being pulled a twisted mess of hotwires were in a powerful explosion of fire & electricity infront of us. The sun had set, it was dark outside so the intensity of the brightness was even more vivid. The dream switches to a large tornado above a large mirrored glass skyscraper & city. I was with many people outside. I loudly told everyone to pray. People furthest away on the left were beginning to be swept away before the large whirlwind was above us. Urgently I started to pray outloud for mercy. I plead that none should perish ( 2Peter 3:9, & Matthew 18:14,). The tornado broke apart in an unusual way, into many pieces & completely dispersed away. All the people within the streets nearby were safe, we were unharmed in all of those things, yet experienced the full intensity. End of dream.

    Hey S Spencer,

Thanks, brother, for your replies, you have spent some time and I know you are pressed for time. Tell your wife it was my fault. I have really enjoyed this. I see parts we agree and others not quite. It has been a while since I have really dug deep on this. The part of fitting a seven-year time into Revelation and some other things I am having trouble seeing the scriptures line up.

I do believe in a literal millennial and Jesus will reign from Jerusalem and the land restored to Israel. Not sure of a temple with the animal sacrifices, maybe but we do know there will not be a temple in the new Jerusalem.

I know we will not know all but give me a day or so and I will get back and if I find I was wrong I will joyfully say thank You.

    God bless,

    Hello Ronald,

Thank you for sharing this information for my consideration. I have read the account of the 70 AD destruction of the temple. The things Antiochus IV Epiphanes was the inspiration for the Maccabean Revolt.

Some people think that when Jesus mentions in Matthew 24:15 "there shall be an abomination of desolation" is that's what they called it when Antiochus IV Epiphanes, back in 165 B.C., put up his image.

Yeah, it happened once before. But in Matthew, this is a future event, not to be confused with that event. This is something that must happen in the future.

I know this is one of the most debated topics amongst believers, but like you, I am not looking for debate either.

I believe that all prophecy concerning the end time is based on Daniel 9:24-27. I also believe that the misunderstanding of the prophecies of the last days is based upon combining Luke's account with Matthew's and Mark's account as if they are the same message. From what I have read, they are not the same message.

Looking at what Jesus said in Matthew 23:38, I understand that was fulfilled 38 years later in 70 A.D., when Titus the Roman General rode into Jerusalem and killed 1,600,000 Jews. He leveled the city, including the temple, just as Jesus said they would. Why?

Because they rejected their Messiah and even to this day, they no longer do sacrifice. That is because there is only one place that they can sacrifice and it is in Jerusalem, which is why the Jews don't sacrifice today.

But there will come a time in the future when the antichrist arrives on the scene, and he is going to help the Jews rebuild their temple in Jerusalem. And he's going to help them start sacrifices up again. And then right in the middle of the tribulation period, right in the middle of the 70th week, he is going to set up his image in the Holy of holies, and he is going to say that everybody must worship him.

Again, thank you for what you've shared.

    God bless!

    Current revival

I have studied a number of accounts of the firsthand experiences in the Asbury college event. It seems that things are fairly consistent with true repentance; scripture readings and some other things that at least don't put any red flags as to falsehood.

Apparently this went on there in 1970 as well. I am also aware of the other high school events of the last 4 or 5 years where there was a short burst of school prayers in several places.

Today; I heard a video from someone who attended that university about 15 years ago who was called to pray daily for such an event; with an exhortation from another person as to the fact that the fruition of such a prayer for revival may not happen while they were there but would be effective in a future group of people. This is the first point that I feel is important; that most things are paved ahead; as Paul states one waters and God gives the increase ( 1 Cor. 3:6-8). This principle also holds true; no doubt for evangelism. We could even extend it to the end times; for prayers for a mountain to move ( Rev. 8:8; Mark 11:23). We don't know exactly how; but we are told "vengeance is mine; I shall repay ( Romans 12:19). The sants who die as martyrs in Revelation will surely be vindicated; with the bowl judgments in Revelation as well as eternal consequences including ruling and reigning during the Millennial Kingdom over the earth for true saints of God.

Obviously; there needs to be a proper guaging with discernment of how this move proceeds as time goes on. For now; another positive aspect is that big name preachers have largely stayed out of it at least as to being in the limelight. No doubt there will be; probably for financial gain an intrusion at some point either from false apostles and preachers; or those who identify as working for Satan as a test of faithfulness. The enemy is well entrenched and we are promised persecution as all are who are godly ( 2 Tim. 3:12). Let us diligently rpay.

    Part 3.

    Matthew 24:32-34.

Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:

So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.

Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

Israel represents the fig tree in scripture.

    Hosea 9:10.

    Jeremiah 24:2-3.

    Joel 1:7.

This generation is a particular people of this time. (Israel)

Generations is used in that way in scripture as a particular people or Genealogy as seen in Genesis 5:1 and other places.

SO YOU KNOW IT IS NEAR WHEN YOU SEE ISRAEL START TO BLOSOM.

THAT DIDNT HAPPEN IN 70 AD.

    Back to Daniel 9:24.

Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

Reconciliation. Jesus done that on the cross, but no one is reconciled until they believe. As a Nation Israel still rejects Christ and will continue until the tribulation. Hosea 5:15, Matthew 23:39.

To finish the transgression. That refers to Israel. Zachariah 12:10 "The last days.

    to bring in everlasting righteousness.

To anoint the most Holy. I also believe that's the Holy of holiness. but I believe that is in the Millennium temple that Ezekiel is talking about in the 41st through the 46 chapter.

I will have to leave off here for now Ronald.

    God bless.

    Ruby,

Not sure what you mean by ... ALL MANKIND (sinful flesh) died on the cross of Christ, you can't understand Christ's prophecies until you add that FACT into the MIX.

But if you are suggesting that Christ died, i.e. paid for the sins, of all mankind, that cannot be. If so, then God would be obligated to save every human being. And the scripture is crystal clear that only a remnant, the elect, have been saved from the wrath of God.

Perhaps I am misunderstanding what you are saying.

    Brother Ronald.

    Part 2.

As I presented my view of a "to the day" accurate 69th weeks, I believe if one holds the view that there is no interval, and these weeks are consecutive. SEVERAL YEARS PAST BEFORE TITUS DESTROYED THE TEMPLE. 70weeks dosent add up.

This brings us to Matthews 23:37-39

O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!

Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.

For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

Notice vs 39. "Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord".

Now we know they saw him again so I believe this means to Behold him as a nation. Remember Luke 19:42.

Also see Hosea 5:15. I will go and return to my place, TILL THEY ACKNOWLEDGE THEIR OFFENCE, and seek my face: in their affliction they will seek me early.

ISRAEL AS A NATION SIN IS THEIR REJECTION.

Paul hammers on this rejection, Blindness, and restoration in Romans 9,10,and 11.

Paul summarizes this very well in Romans 11:25-28.

PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO THIS, I BELIEVE IT STRENTHENS MY ARGUMENT DANIEL 9:24 HASNT HAPPENED YET.

"For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, AND SHALL TURN AWAY UNGODLYNESS FROM JACOB:

For this is my covenant unto them, WHEN I SHALL TAKE AWAY THEIR SINS.

As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching THE ELECTION, they are beloved for the fathers' sakes.

    This hasn't happened yet.

    See Part 3.
  • Jesse - In Reply - 1 year ago
    Hello Giannis,

Thank you for sharing this information. You've presented it the same way I see. I also think that brother Spencer is saying the same thing, that the 70th week is yet a future event to be fulfilled at a later time.

I do agree that we are living in a time period known as the time of the Gentiles. We don't know how long this period will last, but as soon as the church is removed from this earth, it is then that we will enter into the 70th week.

Daniel's prophecy tells us that there will be 7 sevens and then 62 sevens (69 weeks). In 7 sevens, they will build the wall and begin to lay the foundation in Jerusalem under trying times. It took them 49 years (7 sevens).

And then 62 sevens, and Daniel's prophecy says from the time of the going forth of the command to rebuild Jerusalem until the time of the coming Prince when He is cut off (at His crucifixion) is 69 sevens or 483 years.

The decree went out in March 14th 445 B.C., and that is recorded for us in Nehemiah Chapters 2 and 3. And 483 years later, that is 173,880 days, which was the exact day in which Jesus rode into Jerusalem. The Should have known the exact day that their Messiah was to ride into Jerusalem, but they missed it.

The next event to happen is the rapture of the church. And from the rapture of the church until the second coming of Christ, it is called the 70th week of Daniel. We have had 69 weeks, 483 years. And those 483 years ended at the crucifixion of Christ.

The 70 weeks of Daniel 9

I believe the key to understanding Daniel 9:24-27 is recognizing that God does not have in view in these verses a literal, physical city or temple that was to be built or destroyed. Rather, He has in view the city and the temple which is the body of believers, which was to be build by teaching the law of God. He also has in view the cutting off of the Lord Jesus Christ, who is the spiritual city and sanctuary.

    Daniel 9:24-27

Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

We must always compare scripture with scripture and remember that the Bible is first and foremost The GOSPEL which includes God's Judgement for sin and His Mercy in Salvation. And that God uses types and figures to both reveal and hide Truth. It is not about the political nations of this world which will ultimately be destroyed. It is about the Kingdom of God which is an Eternal Kingdom. And to demonstrate the Glory of God.

I would like to write this, so that I may remain anonymous - but at the same time - share what Jesus has done for me. Please bare with me.

I was raised a catholic. I enjoyed the structure, tradition and taught prayer of the church. I felt a closeness to God as a youth, that went away in adulthood. I married, and it was terrible. They were a non believer. I sinned. I failed as a husband, father and catholic. Divorced, I felt I was damaged and no longer capable of being religious in the old way I thought about things.

Ive prayed all my life, attended church (more in my youth) but had never read the Bible. Ive remarried and have a fantastic wife and our children are great, but I could not find a relationship with God the way I previously thought I knew how.

3 years and 2 months ago, I was going through a terrible time personally - and a friend who is a former catholic now christian, told me to read the Bible; open my heart, just try it.

I did. First in the basement, I felt almost embarrassed. A few pages, here, there. Then my prayers were changing, then I was reading every day, then I was reading in the main floor of our house. Every day, regardless of work or being home or on vacation.

I was addicted to many sins without realizing it, and one by one they fell off and there was no craving to repeat. I had terrible anxiety and regular panic attacks.

3 plus years later, I pray at least twice a day; I read from the Bible every day, and have read it cover to cover/made notes and highlights over 6 times. We say grace before our family dinner every night. I try to make examples to the kids about good and bad, based on my readings from the Bible. When I speak to friends and sometimes strangers, I feel the need to tell them what the Bible and Jesus have done for me.

I carry no anger in my heart.

I do not deserve the grace, mercy, light, love or peace that God has extended me - but I thank him every day for it with my prayers, studying and unending loyalty and love.

    Hi Brother Ronald.

Who's the Elect in Mathew 24.

    Part 1.

Here is my understanding of the timeline given to Israel in Daniel's people in Daniel 9:24-27 and also how it associates with Matthew 23, Matthew 24. Romans 11 and so on. I might add a few more as I go.

    Daniel 9:24

Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city,

    to finish the transgression,

and to make an end of sins,

and to make reconciliation for iniquity,

and to bring in everlasting righteousness,

and to seal up the vision

    and prophecy,

and to anoint the most Holy.

I WILL COME BACK TO vs 24.

Daniel 9:25-26 most agree that this was accomplished but what I think what is important to Know is that it was a dated prophecy, and it was precise in its timing. "from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks"

On occasions in the Gospels they tried to make Jesus king but he would give them the slip because his time has not come yet.

On the triumphal entry he arranged and fulfilled the prophecy riding on a donkey. Zechariah 9:9.

This also fulfilled the dated, mathematical prophecy of Daniel 9:25 on the very day. Read Luke 19:30-44.

LISTEN TO THE LORD HERE IN Luke 19:41-44.

And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it,

Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, AT LEAST IN THIS THY DAY, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes.

For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side,

And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; BECAUSE THOU KNEWEST NOT THE TIME OF THY VISITATION.

He fulfilled the prophecies, and they rejected their king and was held accountable.

I believe this ends the 69th week.

    See Part 2.

    BROTHERS AND SISTERS:

Coming to TRUTH of Christ's prophecies requires you put ALL teaching of Christ TOGETHER.

Amos 3:8 Surly the Lord God will do NOTHING, but he revealeth his secrets to his servants the prophets.

ALL MANKIND (sinful flesh) died on the cross of Christ, you can't understand Christ's prophecies until you add that FACT into the MIX.

Ezekiel 24:18 So I (CHRIST) spake to the people in the morning: and at even MY WIFE DIED (his bride, his church); and I did in the morning as I was commanded.

Isaiah 26:19 Thy dead men shall live, TOGETHER with my dead body shall they arise.

All flesh DIED, all rose a NEW CREATION.

    Jesus IS THE RESURRECTION.

Jeremiah 16:4 They shall DIE of grievous deaths, they shall not be lamented, neither shall they be buried, but they shall be a dung upon the face of the earth: and they shall be consumed by the sword (the WORD), and by famine; and their carcasses shall be meat for the fowls of heaven (the eagles), and for the beast of the earth.

Jeremiah 16:6 Both the great and the small shall die in the land: they shall not be buried .....

Before you were ever born you DIED, you were not buried until you are buried by baptism of the Holy Spirit into that death.

Even the OLD saints, already dead, had to share in Christ DEATH and RESURRECTION.

Did resurrected Jesus have crucifixion scars on his body? [Ref: John 20:27]

    Hi Brother Chris.

No, I haven't read it but yet. However, I can hardly wait. I'm forever learning and appreciate much scriptural input.

I'm running behind and like to catch up with Brother Ronalds reply. I have been very busy, and my wife kidnapped me yesterday so I'm attempting to engage this morning.

    Blessings.
