Requesting prayer for my son, Brian, who is flying to Singapore tomorrow morning. Pray for a safe flight and that his wife there can get her permanent visa approved to return to U.S. They applied for it last January when her 90 day visa expired and she had to return home to her family in Singapore.

    Psalm 75.

Once again; we see Asaph as he does quite often give a prophetic statement as to the fate of the earth in the end with several cross references of interest.

Verse 2 seems to be a veiled reference to the Rapture; or possibly those who are Jews that believe and survive to the end of the Tribulation in the reference to "when I shall receive the congregation I will judge uprightly. (see 2 Cor. 5:10; Exodus 20:35-38 in the context of Exodus 20:34 as a future event of gathering from the nations).

Verse 3 reminds us of heaven and earth passing away in Revelation 21:1-4 and Matthew 24:35).

Verses 4 through 7 remind us of the "little horn" ( Dan. 7:8) who is Antichrist himself. God allows Satan and his throne in the Tribulation to suit his purposes; ultimately to separate wheat from chaff; and to draw everyone together at Armageddon ( Rev. 19; Psalm 2).

Revelation 14:10 is much like verse 8 referring to the "wine of the wrath of God". That theme is also seen in Jeremiah 25:15-17; and similar themes in Isaiah and without a doubt in other scriptures.

Again the end of this Psalm shows that only praising God is worthwhile (v. 9) and right wins out in the end. That is basically a big theme in all of scripture; the meek shall inherit the earth ( Matt. 5:5).

Assuming your question is how do you KNOW if God is calling you...

Obviously; we have to objectively look at our plans to make sure there isn't an obvious conflict with God's Word and we aren't attempting to "consume it upon our lusts" as James 4:3 states.

When we pray we should ask for doors to open if something is His will; or to close. An example this week was with a brother who I had discussed starting leading a small group with with the stipulation that prayer with him would precede it. There were some mitigating circumstances where he didn't get back to me; and since I kind of went through this process with him before last summer I can see that it isn't God's will at present to pursue this.

I have found from my experience that being around those who aren't messing about but proclaiming the Good News on a regular basis; are "desperate for prayer" (as one of my Pittsburgh brothers was when he started a group early in the morning in the park) and aren't overly distracted by the world (most of my friends in Pittsburgh didn't own TV's or were VERY limited in selection and time spent on these type distractions) are the type of people around which most opportunities to serve God come about. This situation; sadly isn't common in the established church leadership and it's many associated traditions and expected roles. As for a brother of mine who was searching for a wife; we saw an answer within 2 days when he met someone he is now married to. You want to be around people such as another brother in that group I mentioned before who stated that for every hour witnessing he would spend an hour in prayer. I just don't buy what many in church claim when they say that they are "too busy" for such things as my friends have large families and their kids are involved in their Bible studies.

It is good; finally to be around those who sharpen us; and exhort us. Those are people who understand that there is no good in man apart from Christ in us.

You could just read the entire chapter of Matthew 6 and Isaiah 58 if you want. I prefer reading entire chapters to get more of the context. God Bless You.

I'm in agreement with many of Mishaels comments except her stand on a "rapture". I believe there will be a great "caught up"

At the end of this age as we know it. At the final trump of God when our Lord Jesus returns. Please be careful with posting things that are based on opinion rather than God's Word. May God keep us strong and true to His word.

Sybilr, great comment. Yes God created us male and female to be coupled together. The woman as a helpmeet as you have said and to reproduce and replenish the Earth.

    Genesis 3:16

"Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee."

Hi Mara, it's because that's what the Bible says. For example, the Word is Jesus and John 1:1 clearly says the Word was God. Scripture says he's always existed and is a creator among many other powers.

The frequently asked questions page has this as one of it for lots of scripture references on this topic:

This is prime example that no matter how much money we give to churches, we cannot enter in Heaven unless we are born again. Cain was living sinful life; therefore, God rejected his offering.

Im praying for you this morning. Stay strong. In Jesus name.

Here are some scriptures to meditate on during the next 21 days.

    Matthew 6:16-18

16 Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

    17 But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face;

18 That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.

    Isaiah 58:5-9

5 Is it such a fast that I have chosen? a day for a man to afflict his soul? is it to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? wilt thou call this a fast, and an acceptable day to the Lord?

6 Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?

7 Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?

8 Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the Lord shall be thy reward.

    9 Then shalt thou call, and the Lord shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity;

2 Timothy 2:15: "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."

This powerful verse proves two things; dispensationalism and the need to continue to prove ourselves to God. Many believe that once they are saved, that's all and they can just go back to what they were doing before. Nay! Yes, by being saved we are guaranteed Heaven but we must also keep striving to do good works so that they may be written. Continuing to study and learn as well as obey His commandments and good works are all bonus points for us.

I have been in love with the most

Loving and kind Man for just over

Two years now. I prey every day for God to

Take the feeling I have away if they aren't in Gods Plan for me. But they get stronger each and every day. He suffers from

Really low esteem and finds love very hard he feels very unworthy of my love. I see the most

Loving genuine kindest man I've ever met. He sabotages doesn't communicate often or see

    Me any more (July 2022

    Last time we

Saw each other - although he says he wants to be just can't he's very scared of his negative feelings of failure to even try x

He's been coming to see me since Christmas his idea not mine,

he can't get past the thoughts in his head to even get in his car.

Please prey for God to take away all the negative thoughts in his head and for them to

    be replaced with positive thoughts

So he feels better about himself. Everyone is worthy of love.

This has been a lifelong condition not just recent

God doesn't want us as Christian's to be lonely unhappy and downtrodden he can release People from that - no matter how someone feels

Like it's an impossible situation - Through Our Good God we All know that anything is possible

    Amen

    Thank you

Blessed morning, I'm just waking so before I pray I place the blood of Jesus before my lips so that my prayers would be purified before ascending to God's divine Altar. 2022 was a year of gaining momentum and disciplining my flesh and mostly faith from 1/1/22- 1/1/23 the testing came from the place I lived. They stated that I owed money but the ledger said differently. The lesson learned was for me to be still and know that God is God, I Am God is who He is. When I say no one could help me, no one, from organizations that do this for a living to family members. I received 3 eviction notices and God favored me through them all. I may have paid rent for 3 months. I couldn't find another place to live until 11/01/22, so I remained in the apt. I just was able to retrieve my furniture a few days ago, because no one could help me. Again, when I say God is God it's the truth. He made everyone involved witness and receive discipline also.

    Blessing to all

Please , don't allow that small annoyance to dissuade you from reading the Bible . You don't need to know and understand everyone's name , I've been reading the Bible for very many years and I don't know everyone's name and all the meanings of them and it has in no way hindered my enjoyment and instruction . My honest opinion ? If you are that easily put off then maybe you weren't that commited in the first place ? I'm sorry if that feels like a criticism , it wasn't meant to be one . Reading the Bible once might give you a basic understanding , for me though it's a life long relationship . Once you pick it up on one day , you will be picking it up every day for the rest of your life so there's no drastic rush to understand it all first time round . Be patient , relax and enjoy it , take your time over it and think about what you have read every day after you have finished reading it . It really is a treasure to be kept close to your heart .

Thank you for that , I've been wracking my brains trying to think where in the old testament it could be talking about John the Baptist death . Thanks again .

You never ramble , you pour your heart out , I'm the same . I don't spend any time editing my posts or writing them out first and thinking about them for any length of time . Maybe that's a fault but I like to speak from my heart , I recognise that in you too . I wish I could be more organized and precise with my posts , I love the guys and girls who do that , they make themselves clear straight away . I'm thankful to be able to enjoy your ramblings and hope that you don't mind mine .
