Father God I'm asking this in Jesus name. Amen
I want to pray for blessings upon all on this forum and their loved ones. This forum has been a blessing for me this past year I have been participating. Glad the Lord led me here November 2021. I have meet so many lovely believers here and have learned from post after post after post. Thank you all for praying for one another here and for sharing your wisdom and gracious words.
I pray that 2023 keeps us all in the one true faith in Jesus Christ, Our Savior and Lord of all. I pray that we seek Him with all our hearts, mind, soul, and strength as we discover what the Word says of Him. I pray that we do not grow weary from the trials of life, but knowing that Jesus suffered so for us, we bear up under troubles, being strengthened in our resolve to live godly and upright lives before all men.
I pray that members of our families that are unsaved will be drawn to Him by the Holy Spirit and receive the salvation Jesus bought for us by His perfect obedience and sacrifice of His life. I pray that our families will be well and overcome any sicknesses that hit us. I pray that God will provide for our daily needs in these difficult financial times. I pray that He provides jobs for those seeking them, housing for those who do not have a place to stay, food for each day, and wisdom to utilize what God provides in the best ways. Amen.
We come to You in the name of Jesus asking You to bring harmony, love, and peace within Free's family at this time. Bring this family closer together, but more importantly, bring this family to You by your graceAmen.. Lord hear our prayers.
Dear Lord Jesus, have mercy upon Valerie and heal her back tonight, taking away the pain and stiffness that is problems for her. Give her a good night's rest and keep your healing hand upon her always. Amen.
2 Peter 2 chapter
Please pray for me as well. I need a miraculous career opportunity to open for me and for deliverance from spiritual oppression.
In the precious name of Jesus. Amen!
Thank You Lord for all that are praying in the new year tonight.
Unspoken prayer needs for this prayer community.
Save souls Lord Jesus!
Unspoken health concern.
Thank you for your prayers.
God is great and greatly to be praised!
I brought up previously about an answered prayer for a brother finding a wife. There could be times when someone is asking for something and considering plans that you can clearly see is NOT God's will; or feel led to pray the opposite. This probably wouldn't go so well if you spell it out under those circumstances. Certain imprecatory prayers as David had aren't necessarily wrong; but obviously it should be kept under wraps. I would also say that prayer in the closet could involve those in the underground church where a small group keeps in private as well. The example of Jesus praying for Peter when He knew that Satan was about to mess with him also was case specific and not shared until the appropriate time. I am sure He knew this all along; so that this prayer could have been made for a while or any number of times. There are no other prayers listed discussed with the Apostles; but Christ spent an entire night in prayer before He chose them ( Luke 6:12). This was revealed to Luke; we don't know who else (not sure about other Gospel writers). His prayer also along with fasting was private before casting the dumb spirit out of the boy ( Matt. 17:21). So there is much to be learned in the Gospels about "proactive prayer" and preparation before ministering. This is effective before and after evangelism as well; from the experiences I have had and others.
We certainly don't need to be praying in front of everyone for more money. I have seen evidences of that providence by missionaries who recieved funds within a day; for instance for a new building; and the Lord has been faithful in my life as well.
It isn't wrong of course even to accept someone's help after a request is made; but don't expect my contributions to any preachers that say they will die or something if we don't send them money like a certain famous now deceased preacher whose name I will leave to the imagination.
Let us be wise.
There are cases where corporate prayer is needed; verses that exhort us to confess sin to one another; and instances in the Book of Acts where such activities occurred starting with the room where the Apostles met and basically hid after the Resurrection before the Holy Spirit came upon them and they started speaking in tongues. Certainly there are examples of answered prayers; such as I had for a brother in the Lord a few years ago who met the lady who is now his wife 2 days after praying for that very thing at his request.
Matthew 6:5-6 seems to be a context involving those who made much about their fasting and self-sacrifice (Pharisees) which could be a principle for us as well. It is not to show how pious we are in prayer through some dramatic gesture. Certainly there are a few other circumstances as well. There are times in confidence when someone gives you a request. This can occur when an unnamed person is referred from someone else; or perhaps on this forum where perhaps we can share it with others but they will not know who the person is asking for it; and the person themselves won't either and won't know who we are either. There are also those we may run into on the street or we may meet in our travels who are unsafe to invite to our homes or who we never will see again. Finally there are some personal issues which God has given us answers for; or perhaps things which the Spirit moves us to pray about even if we can't understand the reason.
In conclusion; we don't need to PROVE God answers something because ultimately those who don't believe won't unless the Lord gives them ears to hear. Just as much knowledge in scripture doesn't save anyone either. Those who would say it is good luck; coincidence or a random act of kindness could also tell us it is our own imagination or "self fulfilling prophecy." We must be wise not to "cast our pearls before swine." ( Matt. 7:6; see also Matt. 5:44)
Those of us who do not struggle against homosexuality like you or Max do not know how difficult to live a life where physical love and affection is off-limits due to same sex desires. This must be incredible hard to continuously repel such desires if one wants to live a godly life. It is the same for those who remain single but are hetero. They must continue to live a godly life that includes purity, chastity, and abstinence, just like those who have homosexual desires.
Those of us who are married should be careful when we try to counsel someone like MaxM. We do not know their mindset, struggles, nor the grip that homosexual desires have on a person. In your case, these desires stemmed from the long-term abuse you received throughout your childhood. You did not choose that yet even so, you are still caught in the trap of theses desires birthed from the abuse. I am sorry that you have had a lifelong struggle with this, Rapture Man.
I have three sisters who are lesbians and these desires started early in their teen lives before they really knew how to address them and overcome them. By the time they were adults they were trapped in this lifestyle. Why God allows this to happen to people at such a young age when they are not able to resist, escape abuse, or have a way to re-orient themselves is beyond me to grasp. But you are an example of one who continues to try to fight the good fight against what life has dealt to you, leaning on the strength of the Holy Spirit and the wisdom of the Word.
Thanks for sharing your story. Many of us need to hear it.
Good post brother.
I like the puzzle illustration.
God bless you.
Thank you for all the prayers and encouraging words through out this year. Some situations changed with The Lord's blessing and power, some I'm still praying for. I do firmly believe in Romans 8:28 and have several sins to confess much like
Jonah. I still need strength to hope and wait.
My blessings this year: I have read through the entire New Testament and all but 4 books of the Old Testament
My father in law's panarctic cancer has not grown or spread but chemo therapy is still a concern.
My husband new job has been very good for him in a lot of ways, And I have learned three new hobbies that I can use for craft shows and met a lot of nice friends to instruct me. He also gave me the strength and endurance to work two jobs.
(One is with dementia patients and these drama queen mangers are running the facility into the ground, finically and policy discernment. I am mentally empty.)
PLEASE EVERYONE make me a part of your New Year Prayers. I am applying for a govt. position tomorrow. I know it is a long shot. I just can't live through another failed attempt of hope, wrong or non-working prayers. This position would combine the income of my two current jobs, I would be home more. My mental state and self perception would heal. If I'm turned down I calling it quits with job applications.
I believe in our God, His power and His promises. I just wavier in my belief that I am not a chosen one or it works for every one else.
PLEASE, PLEASE pray over or for this. I'm 55 and need the benefits of this job for retirement.
Prayer for me..im under lones of banks.but no way to i pay it..kindky prayer for me...and my family...
God bless you team in christ name
