I'm still off from work and receive limited income. Thank you in advance for praying for me and with me
I am glad I found your comment here and I am already able to access my account. Firstly, I have a question about Andrew's topic, then I will comment about the prayers for our sons when you reply to this one.
Leviticus 20:10 points out that (a man commiteth adultery with another man's wife, even he that commiteth adultery with his neighbor's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall be put to death.)
I have a few questions because this connects to the relatives of mine who are very important and dear to me.
Situation 1: As far as I understand this verse, it conveys that the status of the man is not specified, so he could be single or married, it is only the woman who is to be a man's wife or married to get involved with that man, that will form the sinful act of adultery on both sides . Does this mean that a married man actually is allowed to have a relationship with a single woman which means, as long the woman is not another man's wife? Is it still not considered adultery in our present period? It is evident in Deuteronomy that some God's chosen men has many wives like Solomon, Jacob, David and others... I know there might be many more. This requires me to continue reading the bible to know the entity. Can men in our present times practice polygamy without committing adultery?
Situation 2: How will this verse be applied to a woman if she is divorced from his previous husband? It looks that the woman is not permitted to do polygamy just like the ancient men can. One particular verse by St. Paul states that even the divorced wife from his husband may stay away from her husband but should remain single.
Looking at these facades: Can we still conclude in our present period that a man can practice polygamy as long as the lady is single and not commit adultery, but the same cannot be applied in vice versa to the woman?
If this is really what God wants, then I will say Amen to this because we are not to question God.
God bless you all !
Mary
Glad to hear from you again.
I am going through the book of Leviticus now, having studied Genesis and Exodus. I write my "take aways" from my readings. Writing this out helps me process what I read and I hope it may benefit others or prompt others to add more info to help me better understand the text.
This happens very often.
But believing in this now has ramifications- if there's intelligent life on other planets, did Jesus go there and die for them too? Is there a different "Jesus" for them? Is there a different Bible? Different heaven? Or, could these be heavenly beings?
To add 1Kings 1, then continuing into 1Kings 2, Please notice : 1Kings 1:9-12, Nathan Being a real Prophet of GOD (the one that GOD was using in that Day, 2Samuel 12, ) told Bathsheba "._._.that thou mayest save thine own life, and the life of thy son Solomon"
The fact Solomon let Adonijah live after that was very merciful. An important fact about who Adonijah had by his side, as highest ranking Military Man, if you question was Solomon's life in danger= Joab, the one who pulled off the murder of Uriah at the cost of others lives also in that battle, 2Samuel 11, 2Samuel 2, 2Samuel 3, 2Samuel 12:27,28, that's Joab.
What's even worse, it appears Adonijah had turned all the other Princes & family against Solomon & not one written that brought up Solomon, nor the promises of old, {That Solomon was to rule & build the Temple } 1Kings 7:51, look at 1Chronicles 22, note 2Chronicles 22:5,17, they knew & were ordered by King David to prepare & help Solomon even while he was very young. 1Chronicles 28, David had called an assembly & announced it publicly also.
Hopefully these are also helpful
"Cursing" in 1 Kings 2 and Leviticus 20:9 has the meaning of "talking to somebody with no respect, insult him". In Deuteronomy it has the meaning of "punishment/condemnation", like we say that "Jesus became a curse for us" which means that He took our place on the cross and was punished/condemned instead of us. GBU
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16
Paul and Silas's jailer asked them in ACTS 16:30 ..."Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" Their answer was as simple as this in ACTS 16:31 ..."Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved..." Simple as that.
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.-- Romans 10:9-13.
Thank you LORD for the blessings and daily benefits, for the LORD GOD HIMSELF will blow the trumpet soon and we will experience "... the LORD their God shall save them in that day as the flock of his people: for they shall be as the stones of a crown, lifted up as an ensign upon his land.
17 For how great is his goodness, and how great is his beauty! corn shall make the young men cheerful, and new wine the maids."
GOD shine HIS face upon all on this forum.

Church polity can be very good or very bad. It can uplift and tear down. I've experienced all of these. There are different ways that a congregation administers the matters of church business. Some have elders, some have committees, some have a pastor overseeing everything. All of these have their strengths and weaknesses. So, my take is for members to gain understanding about such matters early on so that they can work within the normal process or, if they do not agree with such process, they can prayerfully move on to another fellowship.
I can't say what approach is best. And as a church grows in numbers, what worked for a small group may need to change for a larger group.
I would suppose that preachers known to be errant could come up (again I am supposing the leadership is unaware of something that a layperson may be informed of). There are times to say "nay" in voting; that's my main point here.
Agape.
Other things meetings involve are activities for all ministries in a church as well as work in the local community. Due diligence should be given to those familiar with charitable organizations; for instance before deciding to serve at a particular charity; for instance. In the past I have seen how the Pastor didn't know that the founder and leader didn't believe in the concept of the Trinity. More seriously; another group wasn't even preaching the Gospel as to repentance from sin; just a general "feel good" message to international students. Thankfully the Pastor decided not to go back there again. I would say from my own observations that churches tend to be myopic as to those already established rather than making any active efforts to support those who are currently having small groups and or prayer groups or wish to start doing that. Such things as evangelism as well are often ignored; when there are individuals who are already doing that and have experience to offer in that area. Again; often laypersons don't attempt to open up dialogue and it is partially their fault that these things aren't being incorporated into the regimen. There are cases where the establishment have their own itinerary. I would venture to say that the lack of prayer that I have seen in many fellowships is why there isn't more openness. Pastors and laypersons should be able to confess things to one another and support each other moving forward. There are times when asking for a public vote may not serve the best interests of the church. I saw where a committed couple that would come to pray before the service was voted out because their musical venue was considered "boring." Fortunately the replacement person who was rather immature in faith showed some signs of growth eventually but not all things should be a popular vote. My pastor now had to be told not to play certain music from bad ministries that he trusted the music director on as well.
Church discipline; as well as membership also involves public meetings as well as; of course marriages. If laypersons would follow Biblical guidelines when a brother sins against them and that includes those in leadership as well being held to the same accountability; we surely would see less decay today.
When it comes to missions; there is often sadly a great lack of money in terms of percentage of the overall budget for those entrusted to preach the Gospel overseas; and members can express this at budget meetings.
I'm taking the word "cursed" directly from the Bible not other witchcraft things of this world because GOD said no undue curse shall stand. Proverbs 26:2, That stuff has no power over Believers that stay in GOD's ways.
Malachi 2:2, Deuteronomy 28, Leviticus 18:8, Leviticus 20:11, the laws GOD had given Moses included the things forbidden that he was actually asking for Solomon to give permission. Being the king, guilt would have cursed as Deuteronomy 28:15-68, promises. Israel agreed to that, in Deuteronomy 27,
Look also at Ezekiel 21,
