its virtue. "This is to know him" the spirit causes this knowledge to become experience.
God bless you.
The greek for "knowledge" is "gnosis". When the prefix "epi" is placed in front of it then it becomes "epignosis" "Epi" in greek means to add something on top of the following word (or just something on top), so to add something to gnosis/knowledge. So in simple words the word "epignosis" that Paul uses here means a better understanding, a deeper knowledge. How is that deeper understanding aquired? I have heard many theories but my experience showed me that that deeper knowledge/better understanding is aquired when a simple knowledge becomes a living experience. Example. We all know that when we are filled with the Spirit then joy, love and peace come inside us. This is s knowledge we aquire when we read the Word of God. But it becomes a deeper knowledge and a better understanding when we experience it and feel actually what we know how it feels as a simple knowledge. So it has to do with experiencing the Word of God, with living in it.

as the high priest. After preparing and consecrating all of the offerings, Moses took some anointing oil and some blood from the altar where the sacrifices were burning and sprinkled it on Aaron, on his garments, on his sons, and on their garments. Thus fully consecrating them from head to toe. We, too, are anointed with the blood of Jesus and the oil of the Holy Spirit to consecrate us to God for the service He has determined for us to do in our lives. The priests served every day. So do we.
After all of this Moses told Aaron to boil the flesh of the ram at the door of the tabernacle and then he and his sons were to eat it with the bread that remained of the consecrated bread. They were to eat in within the tabernacle enclosure and they could not leave the tabernacle for 7 days. Thus they were atoned for and consecrated to YHWH. Their "dwelling" was in the tent of YHWH for this time.
We are "in Christ" when we are saved. We are set apart for service to God for the rest of our lives just as the priest were to spend all of their lives serving YHWH through these ordinances and rites.
Jesus is our High Priest. His human nature was consecrated to the Father from the moment of His conception in Mary. He lived His human life in obedience to God without ever sinning, so He was the Perfect One to which all of these sacrifices and anointings shadowed. The chapter ends with Aaron and his sons doing all that the LORD had commanded. That is what Jesus did, only He did this for all of His human life, never faltering, never disobeying, never unwilling. He said that His food was to do the will of His Father. Praise be to Him. He is everything we need to be saved and to be made priests unto God!
The sixth seal flows into the sixth trumpet.
The verse 12 earthquake ( Revelation 11:13) triggers the sixth trumpet, Joel 2:2, sun becomes black, moon as blood, day of the Lord attack on both modern day houses of Israel: Ezekiel 38:9, Ezekiel 38:16, Ezekiel 21:19-20.
Verse 13: stars falling signifies God suspending His binding covenant that David would never lack a man on his throne, the protection of grace lifted for captivity. Jeremiah 33:20-26, ( 1 Kings 9:52).
Much of Revelation is hidden in allegory, and in this case, written backwards. Revelation 6:14-17 attack MUST occur before Revelation 6:12-13 (classic sixth trumpet day of the Lord language).
of the world, assenting to the eternal plan and covenant made between the members of the Godhead for the redemption of sinful humans. Jesus agreed to cloth his Deity with humanity to become the perfect sacrifice for atonement for sin, the perfect burnt offering for the mediation of the covenant between mankind and YHWH, and the perfect offering that consecrated all believers as priest unto God. All these sacrifices were done upon the cross of Christ.
Moses took some of the blood of the consecrated ram and anointed Aaron and his sons with it, placing it on their right ear, right thumb, and big toe of their right foot.
He took one loave from the basket of unleavened bread, and one cake, and one wafer and put them upon the fat on the right thigh of the sacrifice. Moses gave these breads to Aaron and his sons, placing them in their hands and they waved them as a wave offering before the Lord. Then Moses put them on the burnt offering where they were consumed. This most likely represents that the priests are to have clean, consecrated hands, refined by fire (so to speak). Perhaps placing the blood on the ear, thumb, and foot represents that the priests are to hear from God, serve God with their hands, and walk with God in a holy way.
Moses took the breast of the ram and waved it before the Lord.
To go back to prior to the sacrifices, Moses dressed Aaron in the high priest garments and his sons in priestly garments. Moses took the anointing oil and anointed the tabernacle and all that was in it, thus consecrating them to YHWH. He sprinkled oil on the altar seven times, and anointed all of its utensils, the laver and its base. He then poured anointing oil upon the head of Aaron to consecrate him...
After the offerings/sacrifices, Moses washed Aaron and his sons with water from the laver anointed Aaron and his sons with oil and blood. He anointed the altar and the laver and all of the other furnishings with blood. He
In this chapter God puts into practice all that He had instructed Moses and the people of concerning offerings and sacrifices.
This whole chapter is about consecrating the tabernacle and furnishings, the high priests and his sons, and the animals to be sacrificed.
The tent of meeting was completed and set up. Moses is designated by God to perform the rites of consecration. He is acting in the stead of God in this work. Moses alone had spent time on Mt. Sinai in the Presence of YHWH for 40 days and 40 nights. He alone was equipped to represent God to the Israelites.
There were four offerings/sacrifices given unto God in this chapter: First the sin sacrifice for the sins of Aaron and his sons. Then the burnt offering. Next, the consecration offering. And last, the grain offering.
Aaron and his sons needed to have their sins atoned for before they could be consecrated for the work of priesthood. We, too, need to have our sins atoned for before we can rightly serve God. Jesus is our atoning sacrifice for our sins.
The burnt offering was made. This was the first one of the many to follow that will be offered morning and evening for as long as God determined (these offerings stopped when Jerusalem was sacked and made desolate by the Romans in 70 A.D., with the temple bring destroyed for good). Jesus is our Mediator, like the burnt offering, which opens up the way for anyone to come to the Father. The Israelites and especially the priests, could not just waltz up to YHWH and perform priestly duties without this offering being done after their sin offering was offered. We all need a mediator between us and the Father in order for us to approach Him. This Mediator ever opens the way to the Father.
Next, the consecration offering is made. This offering was only for Aaron and the priests when they are initially consecrated before YHWH to begin to perform their priestly duties. Jesus is our High Priest, consecrated from before the foundations....
#1 Psalm 118 is not only the longest chapter in the Word of God, it is also the Hebrew alphabet (22 letters) in alphabetical order In which you will notice that there is no J, thus impossible to spell God's name JEHOVAH and, you will also notice that there is no W, thus impossible to spell God's name YAHWEY.
Gods NAME "YHVH" is held in the Acrostics in Hebrew manuscripts in the book of Esther 5 times four times forward as YHVH and one time backwards HVHY so we would get it and did we? No.
Most churches and Christians today call God by a wrong name which would be the equivalent of me calling you Steven when I know your name is Stephen. Would that insult you if I called you by a wrong name every time I spoke to you, of you or about you? Of course it would. Our emotions are the same emotions as our Creator. Also, God's name YHVH are in acrostics in the book of Psalms as well
Psalm 68:4 "Sing unto God, sing praises to His Name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by HIS NAME YAH" (not JAH) = there is no J in the Hebrew tongue, thus utterly impossible to spell any part of God's Sacred Name with a J
Psalm 96:11 In the Hebrew manuscripts in the first line "Let the heavens rejoice and the earth be glad" YHVH is an acrostic in that line and much, much more concerning God's Personal Sacred Name (YHVY) throughout the Word.
Also there is the spiritual gift of faith described in 1 Cor 12:8. But this kind of faith is for the benefit of all the congregation, like all the gifts. I believe we have all seen people in our congregations that they have such a strong faith and they communicate it to others when talking to them. Their faith is like a flame that propagates from man to man. You hear them talking and your faith goes up, you hear a specific preacher preaching and immediately you feel a fire(faith) burning inside you. It is a gift that God gives to some specific believers to increase the faith of the whole congregation. So there are many ways that God uses to increase our faith. So in general a proper christian life produces faith in believers. Like Ronald said we have to feed it, and a decent christian life feeds it. Then our light will shine to people, like the light of the 5 wise virgins. If we don't feed our faith/flame then it will go off and the darkness of sin will come in. So Faith is the basis where we built our christian lives. It is the foundation of our spiritual house. Believing in God's Words is the way God's Wisdom chose to save and make mankind rightous.
Now about Demons believing in God as written in James 2:19, my thoughts are. An "active" faith produces works. Faith is something inside us. How does that show to other people? By works. If good works do not exist in ones life then their faith is considered dead. It still exists but it is stationary, dead. It is like it doesn't exist. In demons faith is simply a knowledge. There is no willing for salvation, for changing(assuming they were permitted to do so). But Jesus took human nature so His sacrifice is for humans, He didn't take angelic nature to sacrifice Himself for devils. Why not? Who knows, maybe God knows that devils will never repend, maybe they have blasphemied the Holly Spirit and they can not be forgiven. But all that is assumptions, God doesn't give us any information in His Word for that."
Hi GiGi
My views on faith.
Firstly "faith" and "belief" is the same word in greek (Pistis). So generally speaking faith is to believe in somebody/something. The definition of faith, as said by Chris, is given by Paul in Heb 11:1 ""Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.". But I will disagree with what J Vernon Mcgee says. The greek for what is transalated as "substance " in this case is more properly translated as the "nature". the "being" and further the "existence" of something. So what Paul says is that faith is the existence/shows the existence/brings into existence what we don't see with our biological sences but we believe in it and hope for it. Also a more accurate translation of the word "evidence" (grk "elegchos" is to "control/check/observe...). So with faith we observe and check things we do not see.
So the question is, whom and what is it that we must believe. The answer is we believe in God's words. Have we seen God(The Father)? No,but we have seen and heard Jesus Christ who brought the Word of God to mankind ( John 7:16-18). And what is it that Jesus said? He said that He was sent by Father to sacrifice Himself for the salvation of people. And here is where Faith comes in. The one that believes this word of His and accept it in their heart, they are given eternal life. Salvation is granted to people not because we they are good people but it is a free gift from God. Free, but still man has to do a work to get it. What is this work? In John 6:28-29 says "Then said they(the Jews) unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent." That work is called faith, believing Jesus' words.
Now often the question is, is faith from God or man? The answer is both. God raises His hand and gives to man and man has to raise his hand and take what is given to him by God, it takes two for this. God somehow reveals Himself to people and people must accept Him. God does the first step and then man does (or does not) his own step. How does God reveal Himself to people? It depends on the individual, it is not the same for everybody., God suits His actions to the character of any individual so to get the best result, in other words He knows our character and acts accordingly. Some people believe because the heard somebody preaching, like Lydia in Philippi, some must see something, like Paul on his way to Damascus.. There are many that hear God's Word or see a miracle and believe and many that hear God's Word or see a miracle and don't believe. It is the responsibility of man to believe or not. God does His Own part, and man has to do his own part. And there are also many that believe in Jesus and later on they leave God and follow something they love more than God. Balaam, Judas loved riches, Saul loved glory, Demas loved the world and so on
This is in the beginning. But as we walk our christian path, faith (that is believing in God's words) is still essential to us. If we don't believe the written word that God is our Father who supplies our needs, who protects us, who forgives us no matter what, who is going to get us to the end, then we can not go on, we can not withstand the difficulties of life, we will stop and go back to our old lives. So now faith has the meaning of trusting in God
How is faith increased? In many ways. Firstly Faith is a fruit of the Holly Spirit. When we are filled with Him our faith is raised. Secondly faith comes from hearing/reading the Word of God. Faith grows when we are in companionship with other christians and hear from them God's actions in their lives. And very important, faith increases when we see God's Hand in our lives.
Also there is the spiritual gift of faith described in 1 Cor 12:8. But this kind of faith is for the benefit of all the congregation, like all the gifts. I believe we have all seen people in our congregations that they have such a strong faith and they communicate it to others when talking to them. Now about Demons believing in God as written in James 2:19, my thought are. An "active" faith produces works. Faith is something inside us. How does it shows to other people? By works. If good works do not exist in a ones life then their faith is considered dead. It still exists but it is stationary, dead. It is like it doesn't exist. In demons faith is simply a knowledge. Who knows, maybe God knows that devils will never repend, maybe they have blasphemied the Holly Spirit and they can not be forgiven. But all that is assumptions, God doesn't give us any information in His Word for that.
Now lets go back to faith and works. As I said an active faith must produce a fruit, good works. Otherwise our faith is considered dead and so we are in a risk of loosing our salvation. This is what James says in his gospel. So one may ask. Is it finally faith or works that save? Is it a gift from God or is it a result of our behavior? The answer is faith. But when our faith shows no works, then that means that we are in disobedience, we don't follow God's commandements. The lack of works is due to not following God's path for us. So it is Jesus' Blood and sacrifice that makes us rightous, but Jesus' Blood has no effect on us when are in disobedience, sin and do not repent. And how is it shown that we repent? It is shown by our works. So the existence or not of good works show an active or an inactive faith. It is not works that save, but works are the evidence of the kind of faith that exists inside each one of us. Like the case of a murder. If there is a dead body then a murder was proved to have been commited, if not then how do we know that a murder was commited? Not a good example, but at least it it a simple one.
In Rev in Jesus' message to the church of Ephessus, the pastor there is warned that he has fallen from his first love. How is that shown. By the lack of works(which he had before falling from his first love). That is why Jesus asks him to repent and do the first works. His repentance will be shown by the works that he will do. All people will be judged according to their works. This is what Matthew's gospel says in Matthew 25:31-46. People are not judged for their faith but for their works, for the works are the evidence of a live or dead faith, for salvation or distruction.

This is an immediate prayer request.
Both of my parents fell down while walking in the street just an hour ago. My 97 year old dad is bruise, but my mom (90 years of age) was taken to the Morristown Memorial Hospital. She has a possible dislocated hip. Please pray for healing and NO HIP SURGERY. God bless you all.
I've been worried about you. I haven't seen you post. I've been limited getting on the site and haven't read much material.
And then I run across "Anonymous" and the unique "k lemme go" at the end of the post. I said that's my old buddy.
Now that you're back, how are you doing?
By the way I believe someone beat you to the title Anonymous.
God bless.
The bible clearly states that In Genesis 1:21 God created great whales and onwards shows they are not a copy of another creature from heaven above or earth below.
On 25 about beasts of the earth as it is written GOD made them after their kind meaning classification or into different category or specific groups not a copy as well.
Remember this is the word of God which is in truth
Pray and ask for more understanding God is faithful to shows us amen
