    Dear Lat,

Our emotions are given to use to be responsive to what happens in our daily lives. They are meant to help us. But we can use them in sinful ways. We need to gain wisdom to know when we are sinning with our emotions and learn what they feel like when we use them to God's glory. We can certainly pray for this wisdom, especially praying for the fruits of the Spirit as stated in Galatians, which are characteristics of a believer led by the Holy Spirit instead of the sinful nature. One who is led by the Spirit will still feel all of the emotions God has created in us, but this person will hold their emotions in check and resisting the urge to sin when we feel emotions strongly or use our emotions to manipulate others.

    Hello Jude,

In this chapter Jesus had sent his disciples out to preach the gospel of the kingdom and to cast out demons, heal people, and do other signs and wonders. When a youth was brought before Jesus with a demon who terrorized and injured the youth, Jesus cast the demon out with His authority, which the demons must obey.

But the disciples had already tried to cast out the demon from this person and it did not come out. When they asked why this was so, Jesus first replied that it is because of their unbelief but then goes on to say that this type of demon does not come out except through prayer and fasting.

So, perhaps Jesus was saying that one must have faith that the demons will obey the command (as Jesus did) and second, that if a demon does not remove themselves from a person, even when commanded in faith, then one may need to spend time in prayer and fasting to be strengthened spiritually before confronting this demon again. It may have been a more powerful demon than the ones the disciples were able to cast out. Or maybe the disciples needed to learn humility through prayer and fasting so as not to confront such a demon with arrogance and self-will.

Whatever the reason for the prayer and fasting, Jesus was certainly teaching that one who is called to cast out demons should not walk away from the person if the demon does not come out when they first command. The called one is take these additional steps and continue to command the demon to leave until it does. The one called is to have compassion for the one possessed, seeking to bring relief and restoration to the person more than seeking to see a miracle happen. Jesus instructed His disciples to persevere and labor in prayer, denying themselves physical food in order that they will be spiritually submitted to God's strength in them when they feel physically weakened by the discipline of prayer and fasting. This may also indicate that demons are much stronger and more clever than humans.

    Hello Earl

Paul in his first epistle to Thessalonians ( 1 Thess 4:13-8) trying to comfort believers who have lost their loved ones, is refering to the end times when Jesus is coming back and the dead in Christ will be resurrected and be unitied with them again. In verse 4:15 ("For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that WE WHICH ARE ALIVE and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep") Paul leaves the impression that he himself will be alive at that time. So Thessalonians seemed to have believed that that time is coming very soon, during their lifetime. So Paul writes a second letter and puts things in the right order. He says to them that that time will not be soon because many other events have to precede, like the falling away, the appearance of the antichrist, Him who hinders him to appear etc. So Paul in his letter has no intention to speak particularly about the antichrist but includes him in the series of events of the end times.

Now what is that falling away or apostasy? There are many theories like the ones I wrote and many other. I believe it is the apostasy of the christian world from the faith, but it may be the apostasy of christian churches from the truth of the Gospel or both of them.

Now if I have understood well you believe in the "Jesus only" theory, that says God is one person who sometimes appear as Father, other times as Son or Holly Spirit? Or I got you wrong? Personally I believe in the triune nature of God, one God but three distinctive Persons.

    Hi Daisy,

I've been thinking about your question on why God loves us. It is clear from Scripture that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit love each other with an everlasting, boundless love that is ever unchanging and perfect. Since we are in the Son (Jesus) as believers, we are loved because of this great and unsurpassed love within the Godhead. We are loved because we are united in Jesus to God forever and so we participate in this great love with God which nothing can separate us from. We love Him because He loved us first and gave us His Son as a ransom for sin and the sacrifice to free us from enslavement and judgment of sin. We are loved because we are connected to Jesus, who is ever loved by the Father and the Holy Spirit. How wonderful is that.

As to whether or not God loves those who are not believers, I think He does, but not in the same way He loves us in Christ, because loving us in Christ means that He loves us the same as He loves Jesus. Yet, even so, He is benevolent, therefore good and kindhearted to all He has made. He is caring and gracious and causes good to come to both the evil unbelievers and believers alike. He hates the sin in any of His creatures, but is able to still love the creature. However, to be accepted by God, one needs to be in Christ and then our sins are removed from us by Jesus' sacrifice on the cross.

I think that from a human standpoint it is difficult for us to really understand how God can hate and love at the same time. He is far beyond what we can really think with out limited minds as far as much about His nature. But He has revealed to us in history and Scripture what He wants us to know about Him. John, the apostle, says that God is Love. Sos we can trust that He loves what He has made in the best way creatures can be loved by the only God there is, maker of heaven and earth.

Daisy, I hope that you are assured of God's endless love for you today. His love for you will never stop or fail to be given to you. You are His.

Needing prayer on a situation in my life that has really got me discouraged and feeling down. I got an interview with a place that went really well. I thought I for sure had the Job. So I am asking for prayer for discernment to know why maybe the job wasn't right for me and prayer that maybe there is still a chance they will call with a job offer.

The answer is in verse 1 , Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him.

Its the day Christ returns , and our gathering unto him that shall not come until the man of sin be revealed . We should all be looking out for the one antichrist . I wonder if he is here now but just in hiding ?

I looked up the word beseech and it means I beg you or I implore you .

This is how I perceive the text , be blessed

    Duncan:

All the things in Matthew 24 have been taking place since Christ, in the flesh, departed this earth and 45 days latter came the second time as the Holy Ghost.

Ecclesiastes 1:9 The thing that has been, it is that which shall be, and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.

The last days have been since Christ, still going 2000 years latter: and the LAST DAYS will continue till all things have been put under his feet.

Hebrews 1:2 Hath in these LAST DAYS spoken to us by his Son ...

Genesis 49:1 .....that I may tell you what shall befall you in the LAST DAYS.

Micah 4:1 But in the LAST DAYS it shall come to pass, (this was fulfilled at Christ's resurrection) that the mountain of the house of the Lord shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills, and people shall flow into it.

1 Corinthians 15:28 And when all things shall be subdued to him, then shall the Son also himself be subject to him who put all things under him, that GOD MAY BE ALL IN ALL.

1 Corinthians 15:24 Then cometh the end (to Jacob's troubles), when he shall have DELIVERED UP THE KINGDOM TO GOD, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule, and all authority and power.

    God Bless You!

It appears Paul was bringing their practices into question. Acts 15:29,

His points in discussion were to explain Jesus baptism & their contrary belief & actions, If they didn't believe in resurrection why would they do anything for people who had already died.?. 1Corinthians 15:12,

    Hopefully this is helpful

    Hi Legends.

I agree with Gigi. The Holyspirit has no beginning.

Here's a mention of his work in the Old Testament.

1 Peter 1:9-12. Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.

Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you:

Searching what, or what manner of time THE SPIRIT OF CHRIST, ""WHICH WAS IN THEM"" DID SIGNIFY WHEN IT TESTIFIED BEFOREHAND THE SUFFERINGS OF CHRIST, AND THE GLORY THAT SHOULD FOLLOW.

Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven, which things the angels desire to look into.

It was ""CHRIST SPIRIT"" in the prophets that testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ and the glory that should follow!

NOW TAKE A LOOK AT THIS NEXT SCRIPTURE.

1 Corinthians 2:9-12. But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

""BUT GOD HATH REVEALED THEM UNTO US BY HIS SPIRIT "": for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.

    Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, ""BUT THE SPIRIT WHICH IS OF GOD"";

( that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.)

When we put this together not only do you see the working of the spirit revealing Christ to come in the Old Testament, but you also see the trinity on display.

    God bless.

(To all that read repent and seek the lord )

Today in the world we have people calling themselves Christians but are not believers and this are people who go to church get 3 hours of worship (entertainment) and 1hour of which half is announcement the the other half is how God love you

when they get home they don't open their bible and any free time they have they spend wasting on tv and phone social medial, prayers are hard to make before the living God

and so they are living on Crumbs and depending on the pastors to help with bible the Living word )

So Saturn is not afraid of uncommitted Christian But one who does not love his life unto the End

That's what Jesus is saying In Matthew

    Revelation 12:11

And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
