I guess that this discussion thread did not go to the workings of Holy Spirit in the lives of believers because the question was Who is the Holy Spirit. Thus the thread went on to address this question. However, I think your idea concerning His work in us is a very good idea. Perhaps you can start a new thread on this topic. I would love to hear many voices on that topic as well.
The reason I posed this question was because I thought this one would be a good one to be included in the Q & A section for people to post on and for others to refer to when they are wondering about this topic.
God is great and greatly to be praised!
So glad to hear you're doing well. And glad you checked in.
Dear Lord, please continue to strengthen LaTonya today. Let her witness go forth that You might receive the glory for the great things You have done!!! In Jesus name!
This Dog you might speak to it and he will wiggle his tail but i tell you tomorrow or few months down the line it will do it again
The point is God has made us and breath into our nostrils and given man the breath of life then man became living being .
Jesus died on the cross for man to be reconciled with God This is clearly shown on
John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
another point to understand is that we are more valuable to God than animals and as God takes care of the animals and birds of the skys he values man more than them.
Matthew 6:26-34
26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?
By the grace of God Please don't worry about the animals worry about your souls before God, remember unless you repent you will likewise perish
Luke 13:3
I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
1 Corintihans 13

1 John 2:22 ...he is antichrist, who denieth the Father and the Son.

God Bless you.
Hebrews 10:19. Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, (We can now come into his presence)
1 Corinthians 6:19. What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? (Because he abides in us.)
1 John 4:4. Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is "HE" that is in you, than he that is in the world. (It is a "HE" that is in you that is stronger than he that is in the world.)
John 17:21-23. That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:
I IN THEM, AND THOU IN ME, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
John 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, if a man loves me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, (AND MAKE OUR ABODE WITH HIM). "The Holyspirit is God's spirit in us!
Romans 8:11. But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies BY HIS SPIRIT THAT DWELLETH IN YOU. (It is the father, the son, and the Holyspirit abiding in us according to these scriptures.) AND THESE THREE ARE ONE.
Ephesians 4:4-6. There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling.
One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, AND IN YOU ALL.
With so many scriptures like this given a would be confusing if there were no trinity.
The way you have explained it often is well represented by scripture.
God bless you.
the night with banging (of not sure of furnitures) thumping sounds that wakes me. Pray that these ppl will move
out and give me my peace.
Also please pray for Lillian's family and Jill's family salvation. That their husbands also be drawn to Jesus, for time is short.
May God's will be done. Thank you so much for lifting my family in prayers. In Jesus precious name. Amen.
Thank you for your reply.
I am so glad for this forum where all can share what they believe and have learned over the course of their Christian walk.
Betty:
You want your prayer to always be answer:
Matthew 6:9 After this manner always pray ye:
Matthew 6:10 ....THY WILL BE DONE....
Philippians 2:13 For it is God that worketh IN YOU both TO WILL and TO DO his good pleasure.
Colossians 2:27 ...this mystery .....Christ in you ....
1 Corinthians 12:27 ....ye are the BODY OF CHRIST .....
John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come (the life of Christ in you), he will guide you into all truth .....
God Bless you, the body or life and truth.
Jacqui:
To understand Psalms you have to understand that it is Christ talking, not David, David just penned the words of Christ.
2 Samuel 23:1 ....the sweet psalmist of Israel, said
2 Samuel 23:2 The Spirit of the Lord spake by me .....
Psalms 34:2 My (Christ) soul (body) shall make her boast in the LORD (Christ's father and Christ's God), the humble (the called of God) shall hear thereof and be glad.
The Psalms is a prophesy of Christ, not David.
May God Bless you as he gives his light into truth.
1 Corinthians 3:16 states that we are the Temple of God now. Thus; as Colossians 2:9 states the "fullness of the Godhead bodily" showed how Christ was fully God and fully man; but also he had the "Spirit without measure". ( John 3:34). We as believers in the N.T. times since Christ's atonement go immediately to heaven after death (see Hebrews 9:27; 2 Cor. 5:8). We are "sealed with the Spirit" ( Eph. 1:13-14) from the moment we are saved (that is TRULY saved); hence the Spirit dwells in us (see John 14:23).
We can look at the Holy Spirit (or Holy Ghost) as the pneuma in some extent; or what is breathed into us from above much as the soul of man had life given to it when we are born the first time. God therefore rules over all and determines times and seasons; Christ is the 2nd member of the "Godhead" hence in accordance with God's plan became the sin offering for our redemption and thus was "given" all authority over heaven and earth ( Matthew 28:18-20).
When He humbled Himself a man; he trusted totally in the Spirit to do His miracles as an example for us to do the same. Clearly; there were certain things which are at least primarily limited to the Apostolic era. Nonetheless; we are told to "bear fruits worthy (meet) of repentance ( Matt. 3:8 and elsewhere). There are characteristics of a Spirit filled life; and also various gifts or manifestations given by God to every believer (see 1 Cor. 12). PRIMARILY; the Spirit of Christ brings forth to convict the world of "sin; righteousness and judgment to come." ( John 16:8-11). We know we are one of His children if we have a new heart ( Ezekiel 36:26); and of course if we trust God; obey Him and obey Him to the best of our ability. We desire God and the Spirit will convict us (he chastises all He loves). ( Heb. 12:6 etc).
I pray that you have a personal experience with the Lord
God I need a miracle in my health, I have several things wrong that could cause me to die but i know you are the father and creator of EVERYTHING. Please and thank you Lord Jesus in your name Amen.
THANK YOU FOR ANOTHER DAY TO WAKE UP TO
Other than this; the verses describing Peter's experience with the sheet being laid down from heaven with all sort sof unclean beasts has the bigger purpose involving the Gentiles being now the recievers of God's blessings (specifically starting with Cornelious and his household). These O.T. laws involved ceremonial law which the new covenant changed. Nonetheless it appears that in the Millennium there will be certain things once again in that arena; I would say because it is the only way mortal men will be able to live in the direct presence of Christ and US; the glorified saints who rule and reign with him at that time. That would explain reinstituting in that time the sacrifices as a reminder of what Christ did. I would tend to think in eternity with all death (the enemy) gone that will not continue.
The last thought of course is Corinthians where Paul tells us not to do anything to offend a weaker brother. That would also of course involve those who find in their belief certain things offensive (such as beef in a Hindu culture; pork among Jews and Muslims). FYI my aunt is vegetarian but doesn't have any apparent problem with those in the family ordering meat as long as it isn't in HER food. So exceptions occur.
