There are some who think that David was afflicted with some type of venereal disease due to his many relations; and the descriptions of his sufferings in such passages. Others say it could be a bone affliction of old age such as osteoporosis. When he was dying he had care for what some would say are hypothermia. We see similar language of David's ailments in Psalm 32.

Apparently; as verses 8 and 10 indicate; God used his enemies to humble him; which were promised due to him in 2 Samuel 12:9 and following after his downfall with Bathsheeba and causing Uriah to die. These would taunt him for the rest of his days; and also would delay the Temple of the Lord to be built because David's transgressions and whatever was meant by his being a "man of war" ( 1 Chron. 28:3). That could be a veiled reference to causing death to Uriah in war; as well as battles that resulted from enemies that came after him due to his own sin.

God did chasten David as he states in verse 1. David surely was a saint of God; as we see from Hebrews 11:32. His broken and contrite spirit as seen in Psalm 51 allowed him to repent as he did many times; admitting his sin. Hopefully; since all scripture is for instruction ( 2 Timothy 3:16-17) we will avoid certain costly sins in our lives as things are written for examples to us in how to live.

I pray just to be happy and be truly saved in Jesus name. I just want peace and to feel loved, and noticed. I just pray for days of fun and happiness with no issues in the name of Jesus.

Doug, I agree with you. As we raised our children, we created traditions for our family to build strong bonds and many shared memories. Traditions are not bad, per se. They serve a good purpose. God wanted the Israelites to always remember how He brought them out of Egypt miraculously sparing the death of their first born children and with a safe escape after a "Passover" meal. This tradition of the Passover Feast was to be continued indefinitely through the generations to be a yearly reminder of this great event that the whole nation shared together, from young to old. It is based on what God did and what He proscribed the feast to be like. No problem with that. There are also traditions in the Christian era that are worth celebrating, the death and resurrection of Jesus comes to my mind prominently. Each denomination has traditions that are peculiar to their sect, and some traditions are shared across denominational lines. These are not necessarily bad.

It is when traditions are of pagan origin and celebrated as the pagans do where the line is crossed for celebrations. It is when the rigidity of the tradition quenches the Holy Spirit that makes it useless. It is when people substitute traditional practices for what is clearly proscribed in Scripture that these practices become an obstacle to learning and growing in the one true faith. It is when the traditions are done to honor certain men or women, either saints or former congregation members who have passed over to life eternal where it becomes idolatry. It is when a tradition causes strife or unrest in the congregation where it is destructive to the unity of the Spirit. It is when traditions are said to take the place of God's grace in saving one's soul that these traditions become another gospel. It is when traditions that are at variance with the Scripture are held up as "sacred" and a reason to not fellowship with other believers who do not hold to such traditions that the traditions become unloving.

You are likely having an anxiety attack. An anxiety attack is a misfire in the system that warns you of danger. The system can also misfire when there is no clear reason.

I advise you to draw closer to God, read your Bible, pray, confess any sins you remember committing and for those you have forgotten or don't even know you've committed.

Also, getting busy with something--housework, a craft or a hobby--while you pray will go toward calming you down. Been there done that.

this whole Chapter stated the blessedness of a person. It told the greatness of a person who delighted the Word of God and the remarkableness of a person whose law of God is constantly in his heart. Blessedness means a person who has been favored by the heavens.

You need to ask for forgivness, but you can not just move on with your life without repentace of that sin you've commited. That is the entire point of salvation.
