When Christ says, "I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation," He is not saying that the Philippian church would be kept from Satan's onslaught.
. "Accounts report that eleven Christians from Philadelphia were martyred alongside Polycarp in 156 AD."
In fact, it is often obedient Christians who are most tested in the world because they have a strong testimony and will not yield to the devil.
The apostles are a good example of this because accounts state that most of them suffered violent deaths when they were martyred for their testimony for Christ.
So, I believe that Christ's reassurance to the Philadelphian church was that He would keep them from succumbing to the temptation/trial which was to come.
Did you know that every two hours a Christian is martyred for their faith in Jesus Christ. So even today we see that faithful Christians suffer persecution. So, it is a mistake to conclude that the present-day church will not suffer from the devil's onslaught.
I believe that we are entering a time when the persecution of Christians will become more widespread, and we need to pray that Christ will keep us through the coming trial so that our faith doesn't fail.
Our salvation as Christians is not salvation from trials and tribulation. To the contrary, Paul says that "we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God."
Throughout history, true Christians have been martyred for their faith in Jesus Christ.
It is through enduring tribulation that our faith is tested and approved to the glory of Jesus Christ.
If you knew me, it's like no way! But in those days, the Roman soldiers used to come along, and if they saw you working in your yard, or just walking down the street, they would say "Hey you, come over here, carry my baggage for me, carry my pack for me!"
And if you were reluctant to do that they would beat you up and then make you do it.
That is why in Matthew's gospel, the Lord says that if they force you to go one mile, go two. So if they strike you on one cheek, offer them the other one also.
And to him that takes away your cloke, (that would be your outer garment), do not forbid him to take your coat also. That would be the inner garment, that's the most valuable.
In fact, sometimes they used to wear multiple inner garments that showed greatness and richness. So if they take away your outer coat, don't stop them from taking the inner coat as well.

If you attend the church at the church building you plan to get married in, I would suggest having a pre-marital counseling session with your wedding minister or pastor of the church to discuss your personal questions. God bless.
My thinking is if Jesus's first miracle was turning water into alcoholic wine, then no, it's not a sin. But moderation, as in everything, is key. It doesn't mean its not playing with fire, especially for some people who struggle with self control or addiction. To me, if someone is drinking every day, especially to "self medicate" or numb emotional pain, that is an addiction and alcoholism. That's very unhealthy, is a false crutch, and only makes life worse.
To anyone who was told it was unfermented and had zero alcohol, John 2:9-10 disproves that. I was told that in church too, but later found out it was a lie just to support a certain narrative. The Bible is the truth.
God bless

Is there any holiday, or day specifically meant for God, or even Jesus? If we love our god, and his son Jesus. Then surely there should be a day that is meant entirely for the praise of our Lord. I don't believe Halloween brings glory to God.
But there isn't officially. Even Easter is manipulated. Plastic eggs full of candy, distributed by a fictional easter bunny does not bring glory to our lord. Our instructions are in the 10 commandments. The second commandment speaks to me about holidays specifically.
Exodus 20:4-6
"4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments."
So what is the celebration of Halloween for?
Well the major themes are always fear and darkness. That is not from our God. God is the creator of light and divider of darkness.
Genesis 1:3-4
"3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness."
Darkness and fear are work of the Devil. Let us not worship the enemy and the father of lies. Let us praise our God and bring glory to him.
Today the gospel has been perverted , many see not the need to live a holy life or follow Jesus .
Yes Jesus died for sinners and laid down his life for them . Glad you get that well . He surely loves as no other man did by the power of God .

I've thought about this quite a bit being the oldest of 10. I was raised with the idea Santa is real. Well, I learn that santa is not real. I do however learn the 10 commandments.
The second commandment really speaks to me about holiday celebrations. We are instructed to not make any graven image unto the lord. Nothing from the heavens, the earth, or from below in the sea.
Exodus 20:4-6
4 "Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments."
Celebrating a false idol such as Santa, is a violation of the second commandment.
However, if we are to celebrate the glory of God, and Jesus Christ. Then I agree with Christmas. There is also nothing wrong with spending time to with family and friends. As long as it will bring glory to our Lord. Also, to make memories and celebrate life and love with your family which was designed by God is a Glory unto our lord.
My final Conclusion on how you should live.
Ecclesiastes 12:13
"Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man."
U are a beautiful Child of God whereby upon conception God put your soul into your body, and when you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior you became of the new nature, you became spiritually alive in Christ .
You can read of how mankind was created, all the races called the 6th day creation when God created both male and female in Genesis 1:27.
I would recommend you reading Roman's for it contains the ABC of the believer's education. Until its lesson is learned, we know and can know nothing. The Holy Spirit has placed it first in Canonical order because it lies at the threshold of all "church" teaching, and if we wrong here we shall be wrong altogether.
I'm 22 and I've thought about this a lot. I think it's simpler than what is expected. According to Genesis 2:7, "The Lord formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul."
If we look at basic organic decomposition, everything returns into the earth. The ground, the dirt, correct? So, our physical body returns to dust. That doesn't necessarily mean it happens instantaneously. It is a process that is perfect and effective.
Now this is interesting. Man had no soul until God breathed into mans' nostrils with the breath of life. Now we know that dust returns to dust. The flesh inherently is a part of the earth because God has made it that way. So, if our soul began with Gods' breath, that means our soul belongs to God.
That's how Gods' systems work. Where it begins is also where it shall end. That is with God. Evidence to this is in Revelation 20:12 "And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened, and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works."
From the first book to the last book of the Bible. It clearly shows that God is the beginning and end. He gives man his soul, and the soul of man will return to God. Even when the flesh has passed. The judgement will be a complete look into what the man has done with his life, and how it has shaped his soul. Your soul belongs to God. He gave man his soul, and in the end, he will Judge it.

Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day and for ever . ( that's a beginning that was in Bethlehem, he is a man at the fathers right hand and coming back a man , and reigning as a Man . The same son of God born in Bethlehem.
Jesus was with the father before he was born in Bethlehem, but he did not get his name or human body until Bethlehem . This Jesus born in Bethlehem is the Christ and the Son of God . Amen .
1 Thessalonians 5:5. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
Nationality gains you nothing.
We are children of darkness/the night or children light.
Sometimes even Christians through the carnal mind identify themselves as a Jewish, Black, White, Indian ect ect..Christian as if there is some favor to their ethnic group.
We also see those who covet the Identify of the Israelites as though God favor the Israelites.
This is because of a misunderstanding of scripture.
They are set apart for a purpose, (Which I don't care to expound on here.)
Just to mention for clarity you have the ""Black Israelites who say they are the real Israelites."" and You have the Mormons who say they're somehow tied to the tribe of Joseph.
I mention these groups as examples to make my point.
Here's what matters.
For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
THERE IS NEITHER JEW NOR GREEK, THERE IS NEITHER BOND NOR FREE, THERE IS NEITHER MALE NOR FEMALE: FOR YE ARE ALL ONE IN CHRIST JESUS.
And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. Galatians 3:26-29.
Also;
Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2 Corinthians 5:16-17.
This is all we should earnestly covet after and display the humility of Christ which is shown in this verse.
Philippians 2:5-8.
God bless.
Yet in Revelation 3:10, the warning wasn't only to the Church but that the whole world would be affected at this time. Maybe the 'world' applied only to those parts where the Roman Empire had its reach, which included western & southern Europe, northern parts of Africa & west towards Assyria. If so, then I agree that within that empire there were several emperors who were exceedingly cruel to Christians and the churches would have faced much persecution; but this Church would have been spared because of their faithfulness to the Lord.
But if the 'world' included all nations then and now (as the verse seems to suggest), the reference in this verse would have both a present application (for the Churches then) & a future application, which would be a specific testing of where the world's allegiance & faith lie. As that Church remained faithful and was kept safe from that time of testing, the Church today (the true Body of Christ) would also be kept from Satan's onslaught that is to come. So from that verse, I see the salvation of the Lord for those who are truly His, keeping themselves unspotted from the world.
Thanks for your reply.
John 16:12-14 I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.
Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, HE WILL GUIDE YOU INTO ALL TRUTH: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: AND HE WILL SHEW YOU THINGS TO COME.
He shall glorify me: FOR HE SHALL RECEIVE OF MINE, AND SHALL SHEW IT UNTO YOU.
When Christ first came he came for the lost sheep of Israel, When they were commissioned by Jesus and "by revelation of the Spirit" they were to take the message to the world using the old testament uncovering the mystery that was later to be revealed.
Paul elaborates on this in Colossians 1:25-26 "Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God;
Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:
Also;
Ephesians 3:9-11 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:
To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God, According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:
In acts when they received the Holyspirit they expounded from the old testament, Which was the promise to Abraham, Blessing to the Gentiles and the mystery of the Church.
These are the same scripture they had all along!
Truth is revealed to us in that same manner. By the Holyspirit.
Apart from the Holyspirit we can read the scripture all day everyday and never get to the debt of the meaning of scripture.
Also;
Christ "in us" gives us a new heart also causes us to walk as he did.
What ever is not done in the spirit is dead works.
God bless.
