Isaiah 9:6 "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace."

"mighty God" = Jesus as a baby is called God.

Titus 2:13-14 "Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works."

"God and our Savior Jesus Christ"

Isaiah 7:14 - Jesus is called Immanuel which means "God with us"

1 Timothy 3:16 "And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory."

"God was manifest in the flesh" = this is Jesus, who was manifest in the flesh. John 1:14

    Revelation 19:13-16

"his name is called The Word of God" = Jesus.

"and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God." = Jesus

"And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS." = Jesus

John 1:1 clearly says the "Word was God."

"Lord" also means deity or God.

"But Jesus prayed to God so how can He be God?"

Because the Bible says He is. Jesus has always been Jn 1:2 and relegated Himself to become a temporary man in the flesh prayed to God the Father. Just because He prayed as a temporary man does not automatically mean He wasn't God, the Son. 1 John 5:7

    Philippians 2:9-11

"Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

    That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."

May He do this also for anyone else in need. Thank you for praying. May the Lord bless you and yours.

Not so musch a comment but a question. I have read the scriptures hundreds of times. But yet 1 Timothy 2:12 still jumps out at me. I have seen a shift in which women are teaching, preaching, being called Pastors, Prophets, Apostles. What rea you thoughts on this in reference to 1 Timothey 2?

Good Morning Carleton, I will pray for you today.

Dear Heavenly Father, we lift up Carleton as he undergoes surgery to repair damage to his eye today. Guide the hands of the surgeons and bring about a successful result, restoring Carleton's eye to better function and allowing this eye to see clearly again. Give Carleton a quick and effective recovery from surgery. Keep him safe through this procedure and we ask for the best outcome for his sight. LORD GOD, we know that You can restore sight to the blind, so by faith, we trust that Your will for Carleton is perfect as You answer this prayer we offer in Jesus' name. Amen.

Good Morning Chris, Thanks for your reply.

I do agree that eschatology is a matter that has many different interpretations. I do not usually enter into discussions on here concerning end times, but I had just been reading up on dispensationalism and the pre-trib rapture promoted by Darby, so I responded to Patrick from that perspective. I have read the book of Revelation many times. But it is a most difficult book to understand. I think that is because the events mentioned in it have not begun to happen yet. I think that when they do happen, then I think that God will open up our understanding of this revelation more and more. The best I can say is to be ready in the ways that Jesus has told us to be ready: saved, faithful, prayerful, wise, watchful, etc.

    Juanita Collier,

    No, that's not what I read, 1Timothy 2:9, Deuteronomy 22:5,

Modesty seems to be better in feminine styled pants, no wind or other circumstances will expose anything. The Kilt & robes worn by men, might be the foundation of the dresses ect.

    Hopefully helpful

I am struggling the last several years. Both physically due to age and a workplace injury and a divorce. I have maintained my faith. My family has fallen away. I pray for them to once again open their eyes to Jesus and allow the shortcomings of people who caused them to fall away.

As for me, I struggle financially as so many are now. I am asking for prayers to be able to buy an RV so as to go on the road. A used one, not a great one, just one to live and travel. Too expensive renting. There I shall greet othere and talk about Jesus our Lord. Sure, it's my plan that I truly believe that was put into my heart. I had not thought about it ever before.

And most importantly, pray for my mom Shirley. She has full dementia. Dies not recognize myself, my brother or anyone else. I pray that it may sound awful , but pray that the Lord allow her to pass peacefully soon. I think she believes but so weak in person that sadly will lie for attn perhaps. Was not an evillage person in our terms, just weak. When Dad passed away, she lost her depend on mate. Praying for her salvation to be real. I've talked some about the Lord to her. I think she truly believes, just a weak, scared woman. Now with her dementia in full, her mind is lost. I feel awful but I pray the Lord reach her and take her home soon to be with Jesus. So hard seeing her physically good but mentally lost.

    Prayers needed for me too.

I am angused over my ex divIrving me. She got everything . At my age, I barely survive. Enough SS to rent an OK place, safe for my two aging pooches and me.

Yes, thank you for asking. My calling: protection for me & my family as I step into my calling, all the days I am in that calling, fully prepared, fully accomplish GOD"S plan & purposes in that calling. That I will be an excellent steward of all HE has trusted, trusting & will trust in my stewardship. To give me wisdom, discernment & clear direction about everyone I allow around that calling & Plan. To fulfil HIS plans fully, faithfulness to completion.

    Thank You

Hi Beverly. The Apostle Paul, in this section of 1 Corinthians 6:1-8, is dealing with the matter of problems arising amongst certain ones in the Church & how to correctly address them. What was happening, was that if a problem or dispute arose between two believers, they would in the first instance, take the matter to court, to find justice and/or compensation. So, if for example, there was a matter of some money owed that couldn't be settled or even paid within the time limit agreed on, the aggrieved one would immediately lodge a case in court. And this could mean that the borrower may be forced to sell his possessions to make payment or be locked up (I don't exactly know how the judiciary dealt with this type of matter in those days).

What Paul was urging them to do, was to first deal with the matter 'in-house', with the Church leaders appointing others to help adjudicate and sort out the problem (v 4), or better still, as brothers in Christ, why not suffer the wrong or be lenient with each other (v 7), rather than take the matter outside the Church. We should exercise Christian love & graces first with each other rather than have 'unbelievers' & legal systems brought in to judge. I suppose for serious crimes, a civil justice & penalty may need to be administered by the 'courts', but for matters that can be easily dealt with, it is preferable for believers to attend to them, sort them out, and forgive & forget.

Waiting is always the hardest. Waiting to hear from Him, waiting to do what is next. Contemplating the past, wondering about the future, how could we ever imagine that soon the nets will be so full ,we will be beside ourselves.

That He will be waiting and watching as we struggle with His will! Who could have ever imagined, that obeying Him would lead to such a bounty! Soon the nets will not be able to hold the promises, and yet nothing shall be lost. Gather the fragments into the baskets, as we dine together. This one who leads us, we will follow, for He has been instructed on what to do! Can you hear Him say, Feed my lambs, feed my sheep, feed my sheep? Can you see the nets that are ready to burst?

    Waiting is always the hardest.

I don't know how long you have been going through this time of tribulation in your life, for me it has been a good 3 years. It's all due to family situations. When your only child ....adult child rejects you....I cannot think of a greater pain. And unfortunately...that is only part of the story. A fiction writer couldn't write such a story of circumstances to happen the way they did....it would appear too unreal. I really do feel like I am being tested. In some ways....I understand God's Word where he says, "He gave his only begotten son" and how impactful the meaning of that really is. The pain is unbearable....but God's love for us much greater.
