    Hi Henry

Cornelius and his own spoke in tongues too, but Peter ORDERED them to be baptized in water

    Acts 10:48

"And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days."

Baptism in water and baptism in the Spirit serve different things. Being baptized in one doesn't exclude you from the other.

Dear Derek, we are all sinners, even the born-again are sinners saved by grace. Romans 3:23,24 "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"

There's nothing we can do to EARN righteousness. Ephesians 2:8-9 "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." The only righteousness God sees in you is the blood of Jesus.

However, when we are born again, Jesus calls us to do the works of His will. James 2:17

"Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone."

What are those works? Jesus said in John 14:15 "If ye love me, keep my commandments." Do what he did on earth such as is possible for a person to do. That is, minister unto others when God points out someone's need. Pray for yourself, and for others. Read and study your Bible, and heed whatever the Holy Spirit tells you to do.

    God Bless!

S Spencer, thank you for that,

To expose them that work of darkness IS what Ephesians 5 is saying.

Exposing Falsehoods, and evil are what Ephesians by the light 5:7-17 means, for whatsoever doth make manifest is light, we are children of the light, so we expose the things that are spoken of in secret.

11 And have no partnership with the unfruitful [dead] works of the darkness, but rather convict/expose them.

13 But all things that are convicted are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.

Manifest: Clearly apparent to the sight or understanding; obvious. synonym: apparent. And so it is, the salt must flow.

If you're feeling a need, want to be baptized, it may be the HOLY Spirit leading you. Even during the New Testament Church, there were some that were baptized by John for repentance that realized they needed to be re-baptized. Acts 19:1-6,

    Acts 2:38,

To understand Baptism more, if your interested in studying it fully. I recommend searching "Bapti" in the [Search words or verses] tab, then it will show [Modify Search] big red button. Click, it. New options show, multiple tabs, tap [Partial Word Match] it should respond with= 91 instances 4 pages of where this KJV Bible app has every variance of the word, Baptism, Baptized, Baptize, Baptizing. Then I usually click the underlined phrase [Sort By Book Order].

You can Search using each word individually too, but those will be like 51, 7, 22, 4, instances, with repeating scriptures, for each word individually searched.

    Hopefully this is helpful.

Hi Karen. Yes, God could have stopped sin right from the beginning, when Adam & Eve were tempted to commit sin, God could have stepped right in & prevented that happening - indeed, God could have also destroyed Satan & saved all of us so much grief, bound for eternal agony. But you know what, if God did that then He wouldn't have allowed us to express the mental & spiritual resources He has given us. All His creation, including mankind, the angels & other beings in Heaven, would either be fully programed to not respond to evil or maybe unable to have the power of choice & the exercise of emotions of love, faith, etc. Yet, we are made in His Image - so our existence in the flesh must exude those qualities of God that He has placed in us. Sadly, sin has severely marred what God has put in us & so man in his sinful unregenerate state shows anything but godliness, serving his own lusts, lifting himself to a god-like status over others.

In Heaven, Lucifer, the covering cherub, was created holy, serving God. Then one day, "iniquity was found" in him ( Ezekiel 28:15). We're not told how one so holy managed to sin, but having the power to choose, as we also have, Satan's heart lifted with pride, he sinned, & he led Adam & Eve into the same trap ( Genesis 3:4,5: to believe they too can elevate their hearts & minds to the level of God). If God withheld from us the ability to choose, to use our minds to consider His Words, whether to remain true to Him or to pursue our own ways, then we would not have fulfilled His design & we would not have had the ability to demonstrate true affection from our wills. It would have just been a love coded into our design & a sinlessness not based on our desire to please our Creator. To be a human as God intended meant that Adam & Eve had to reject Satan's thrusts at every point in their lives - but would we afterwards have remained pure?

And so Jesus was sent to us - the great Plan for our spiritual restoration - from self, to God alone.

Parable of the Sower Luke 8:5

"The sower went out to sow his seed: and in his sowing, some fell beside the wayside; and it was trodden down, and the birds of the air devoured it.

6 And other fell upon the rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, on account its not having moisture.

7 And other fell in the midst of the thorns; and the thorns sprang up together, and

    stifled it.

8 And others fell upon good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold." And when He had said these things, He cried, "He that hath ears to hear, let him hear."

9 And His disciples asked Him, saying, What might this parable be?

10 And He said, "Unto you it has been given to get to know the secrets of the kingdom of God: but to the rest within parables; in order that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.

11 Now the parable means this: The seed represents the word of God.

12 Those beside the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and snatches away the word out of their hearts, in order that they should not believe and be saved.

13 They upon the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word of God in

association with joy; and these have no root, which for a season believe, and within time of trial fall away

14 And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, as they go on their way, and are stifled by cares and riches and pleasures of the life that is lived, and bring no fruit to perfection.

15 But that in the good ground are they, which within an honest and good heart, having heard the word of God, hold it fast, and bring forth fruit in patient endurance.

16 No man, when he hath lighted a lamp, covereth it with a vessel, or putteth it under a couch; but setteth it upon a lampstand, that they which enter in may see the light.

17 For not anything is hidden, that shall not become manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not become known and come to light.

    18 Take heed therefore

Hi Lisa. I'm sorry, I've never heard of 'unfamiliar spirits'. Of 'familiar spirits': these actually speak about those who engage in sorcery or necromancy. These devilish practises are very real & those who call up evil spirits wholly immerse themselves in that spirit world. So, when 'familiar' is used in this instance, the Bible translators have taken the word from Latin, which is 'familiaris'. And this word has several applications, & in this case, denoting 'a servant or household slave'. Then when we see 'familiar spirits' used many times in the Old Testament, it should give us an image of a sorcerer/necromancer who gives his/her authority over the spirits that he regularly identifies with (thus becoming a familiar spirit). These spirits then are subject to his/her commands.

But my guess is that 'unfamiliar spirits' are the opposite to what I've described here, but I don't believe that there are any references to them in the Bible and so I wouldn't know what the preacher you heard, was referring to. The only Spirit we know & to Whom we are subject, is the Holy Spirit of God and He is not subject to us, rather He ministers to us in the Love & Power of God, which those 'familiar spirits' are never able to do.

Study Joshua and Gideon. God led them every step of the way. Provided needs. Taught wisdom.

Find out if there are state subsidized apartments in your area. Age 50 or 55 and up. It's nice. I have one. It's huge. You live with folks your age or older. If you sit on the front porch, neighbors stop by and chat a few minutes. The Bible teaches to have friends you need to be friendly too. It's true. I'm learning too.

Encourage yourself in Proverbs; and ask the Lord to open up the wisdom to your heart. Be what the Lord sees in you; like He did with Gideon.

Open our eyes Lord Jesus. Give us Your favor and direct our feet. Open the windows of Heaven and rain provision in this time of great need. Give favor with housing authorities. I keep my eyes on You alone, for my help.

    Amen and Blessings. Mishael

It's a blessing to go through the book of Gal 3. Truly God doesn't change, neither is his way. If Abraham was justified by faith, then even us today are justified by faith; faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross.John1:29. John 19:30. Having therefore confidence to enter the holiest by the blood of Jesus, the blood through which God has made us righteous, and holy , we are going to heaven, I give glory to God. Amen

    Hello, Pamela

Do you have a pastor that you can ask to baptize you? You can speak with him concerning this to learn more about the significance of water baptism to a believer. You can also search online with a question like: what is water baptism all about and why is it important? You may get some good information there. If you feel led by the Holy Spirit to be water baptized, then do it.

I listed scripture in hope you would read & the LORD through the HOLY Spirit would lead you. John 14:26, 1John 2:27, James 1:5,

There seems to be several ways to 'fast" before GOD. the most important seems to be, the Heart & actions of the individual or 'people' fasting. GOD points out to deal your bread to the hungry, keep it secret, pray for justice, & do Justice, act justly. It's not to be for self exalting Isaiah 58,

Sometimes people fast (most often) by not eating or drinking for a certain time. 1 meal, 'skipping a meal" 2Samuel 1:12, Judges 20:26,

Some eat regular meals but take things out that are enjoyable like sweet treats, rich meats. Like Daniel 1, Daniel 9,

Extreme fasts were Jesus & Moses. Please only fast what the HOLY Spirit leads you to. Not other's.

Sometimes it's very good to take all media, TV, phones, devices that distract, make noises ect even Christian radio away for a time to focus, be quiet & still before GOD, that's a way to humble yourself before GOD.

In the Bible many times they would rip their clothing throw dust on their heads. Joel 2:13, said don't, but rend your hearts, Matthew 6:16, Interestingly no account witnessed Jesus do that outward display, yet Jesus healed & delivered all who believed. Some people practice a life of types of fasting. Like Jesus, Paul, 2Corinthians 11:27, Matthew 17:21, Mark 9:29 Please read, pray, be still & quiet waiting on the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY while you dedicate time, other enjoyable things unto the LORD & study HIS WORD the Bible, also turn aside/away from things, displeasing to GOD, sin = repenting from or atleast trying & attempting to (if your fasting for your own deliverance) from things like addictions, habits etc..) abstain from wine etc.

that's what I recommend on how to "fast". Again I recommend the scriptures in previous reply.

Fasting is supernaturally amazing, it most definitely changes things, saves lives, delivers, defeats oppression, & enemies.

    Hopefully this is helpful

Please pray that I delight in the Lord, that I be meek, that I repent of my sins as soon as I possibly can with the goal of sinning less, and that God make any necessary changes in my heart that He Himself will count me among the righteous. In the meantime, please pray He provide me with sustenance, rental assistance/shelter as winter comes, and protection from those where I live, which is a decidedly unGodly place (the most unchurched area in the United States since Billy Graham had offices there). Pray I bless those who persecute me and forgive those who trespass against me as He first forgave me. I find this last bit difficult sometimes. Pray that He account my earnest but flawed service to Him for decades as righteousness. I require His gentle healing touch and encouragement as lately my troubles have driven me to utter despair. Please pray He change me so that I qualify for His help. I have tried so hard to serve Him, but sometimes I lose hope. I feel like Elijah when he lost heart. Thank you for praying.

The first five verses are indicative of Christ ascending to heaven after Satan attempted to kill the Messiah. This reflects the prophecy of Mtthew 2:18; as well as the third of the angels that Lucifer drew under his spell in the past in verse 4. There is also an alternative interpretation of the Raptured church being the "manchild." It is true that it is the heritage of the saints to rule and reign with Christ ( Rev. 2:26-28). There are supporting verses to us being Kings and Priests in other places as well. The general statement here can be that some are taken to heaven; others protected on earth of His people (and of course some are martyred). God seems to show favor to the 144,000 in particular here; however and perhaps to the remnant in Petra.

Verse 7-12 show Michael; who is the angel who had contented with Satan previously over the body of Moses (Jude; verse 9). He watches over His people ( Dan. 12:1). He will battle with Satan with each opposing army of angels. Of course; Satan loses and is cast to earth. This gives the victorious statements in verses 10-12. It seems here that the accuser through the whole first half of the Trib. will be accusing us. He won't be able to get in the way of the Lord. Some say this is only for those still alive; but I can't see how that can be said. In any event we ALL will be glad when this event happens.

The rest of the passage gets into God's protection against a "flood" verse 15 (some take it as a band of warriors; but possibly it is a literal flood) which occurs after Satan is cast down. After God protects His own (probably hiding in Petra); Satan goes after the rest of the believers; which will be those in the next chapter taking the mark and going after nonbelievers themselves; most likely or with his minions.

    Brothern.

It's my opinion that when we take liberty to engage on a website or any other social gathering we tend to set aside the teachings for the Church and become liberal in our walk!

Just because a website gives us liberty to conduct ourselves in an open way doesn't mean you set aside what's given to the Church!! Our church guidelines are accepted.

It's as tho we leave our light at home. The Church is in the world to be a witness and have a compact on the lost,

So bring EVERYTHING you are taught and believe in to the site Church.

A BELIEVER CAN'T LEAVE THE CHURCH BEHIND! YOU ARE THE CHURCH.

Ephesians 5:7-21. be not ye therefore partakers with them.

For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:

(For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)

Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.

And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.

But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.

Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.

See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,

Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.

    And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;

    Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;

    Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.

These and ALL of Paul teachings should be part of our everyday walk, not just with our local gathering on Sundays.

These things is set in order for a reason.

    God bless.

    Hi everyone.

I've been unable to keep up with the site over the last few days. However I just read a few comments and replies, It's one thing to disagree and rebuke and then there's is those who expose themselves.

We all understand that all of us is not brothern and this brotherhood is not defined on how well we teach or preach or agreeing with someone.

WE SHALL KNOW THEM BY THEIR FRUITS!! Matthew 7:15-16.

You can be well doctrined and be as fruitless as a broom stick.

When someone holds the truth and share it, if your ears have been opened you will RECEIVE it! This is a work of the Holyspirit.

But if someone of the world who happens to be amongst us hears that same truth and don't have the spirit don't be surprised if they hate you. John 15:18-19.

They're not hating you because they disagree with you. They're hating you because they have a different spirit than you.

HOWEVER!! Agreeing on doctrine doesn't confirm anything but truth should produce fruit and that fruit should be displayed in our lives.

1 John 4:8. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

1 John 4:13. Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.

1 John 4:7. Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.

1 John 4:12. No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.

1 John 4:16-17. And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.

Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.

1 John 4:21. And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.

This is for one to examine himself!

    1 John 4:13.

This is uniquely written to and for the brethren.

    God bless.
