Had another huge explosion in the family. We have been praying for so many years and a child is so affected (been so hurt over the years) because of this family member's behavior (the child's mom, living with her alone). We need a supernatural intervention from the Lord. Asking for strong protection, deliverance, healing and salvation (those unsaved). I know many are struggling right now and so I ask that this prayer is extended to cover others in need as well. I believe the Lord can do exceedingly, abundantly, above and beyond. Balaam was a non-Israelite diviner (sorcerer) who was asked by the King of his people to curse the Israelites do that they could be conquered. But God made it so that Balaam spoke blessings upon Israelites rather than evil curses. Balaam, though he spoke blessings instead of curses upon God's people, was still an evil occultic person who was powerful (through the devil) in bringing evil upon others. The king obviously esteemed Balaam to be powerful to weaken his enemies through the curses Balaam could speak over enemies. But his power came from the evil one, not God. His practices were an abomination to God and totally prohibited for any one devoted to God to participate in.

I hope you don't mind me stepping in here, but I would like to add that anything is possible with God except sinning or doing evil. God will never cross that boundary because His essential nature is unable to do so. He is absolutely pure and sinless. He is without shadow or hint of corruption. He is infinitely righteous in all of His ways.

He could destroy all of creation in just one word if His will was to do so. He could have today be the day of Christ's return if His wisdom determined that history is at its end. He could end the lives of all who are unredeemed instantly. But He does not do this due to His mercy and grace towards humanity that He created and redeemed through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. He is patient and longsuffering, willing that many more will come to believe the Gospel, even today, or tomorrow, or ten years from now. We are to trust in His wisdom and will, knowing He loves every person He creates and desires for each person to come to the knowledge of Jesus Christ int the Gospel. He also has empowered the Gospel by the Holy Spirit, to bring conviction of sin, repentance, faith, and regeneration to those who hear it preached. So, let us concentrate on bringing the Gospel to any who will openly hear it, that they may receive the salvation that is only in Jesus Christ.

We may never be able to resolve the seeming contradictions or paradoxes in the Scriptures. But, I believe if we endeavor to read the Scripture to gain knowledge of the saving grace of God throughout history and not to be critical of the Scripture, we will discover such truth that these seeming contradictions will not seem such large matters to us in light of the redeeming work of God in history and in recorded in the words of Scripture.

Stuart, you are right in that we should not give politics first place in our lives, nor expect any form of redemption nor favor from any particular political party. God does set in place governments for the carrying forth of His will in history.

We are to certainly exercise our rights and participate wisely in the governance of our nation and communities. We should certainly pray earnestly for our elected officials to govern righteously and with proper attention to the needs of their constituents. We should become as informed as we can about issues and candidates so that we make wise voting decisions as well as in informing others on such matters.

But, as you imply, we are to not look to government to deliver to us a nation that acknowledges God as sovereign over all and a peace in our nation that comes from a citizenry that walks with God. It is God that provides these things. We certainly should pray and also witness to the salvation of Jesus to those God brings to us. We can certainly voice our faith in Jesus and encourage others to seek Him. We can certainly live godly lives in a wicked generation. And we can certainly trust that God can deliver us from all that is opposed to Him.

Passivity is not the best way to bring about any change for the better in our country. Active participation in the arena of politics (on whatever level one is called to) is effective. We exercise our rights as fully as we can in order to make inroads for godly thoughts and policies in our government and in our communities. We speak up and give a godly world view concerning political and social matters. We inform ourselves and and pass on information about issues facing our nation. God will bless our input into these arenas as we stay true to the Word and His ways in our speech and actions. We are the light that shines into the darkness of unredeemed hearts in hopes that these may see their sinfulness and the error of their world views. We pray for God to bring repentance and faith

Dear Miss, I will pray for you and this man today.

Dear Heavenly Father, we come to You today in the name of Your Son, Jesus, to bring this man Miss speaks of to redemption and deliverance in the name of Jesus. We ask that You reveal to him and his wife the glory of the salvation we can receive from our Lord Jesus Christ and take hold of it. Deliver him from the sorcery and witchcraft that ensnares him. Enlighten his heart to see how dark and sinful he is and turn Him to repentance and faith in Jesus.

We ask that You protect Miss from the evil that this man directs to her. We ask that You provide for a way out for Miss from this situation. May Jesus be glorified in all of this situation-in Miss and her life and in the man and his wife who have been trying to bring evil upon Miss. Stop this evil, in the name of Jesus Christ and by His blood shed for us believers and for all who are still entrapped in sin and unbelief, bringing those we pray for to redemption in Him and renouncement of evil ways through grace and mercy of You Father. LORD GOD, deliver Anthony today from the debilitating and distressing effects of anxiety which cause him to have difficulty breathing. Remind Anthony that he is Yours and You will sustain him through every attack. Your love for him is beyond measure and Your power to heal and deliver is the strongest possible, able to defeat all of the works of the enemy. Your Son, Jesus, DESTROYED the power and works of the devil on the cross through His death and with His resurrection won us this victory forever. It takes a redeemed mindset to understand that all that is created tells us about God, but it is in Jesus Christ that the revelation of the grace and mercy of God is revealed; the salvation that comes only from Him; the reconciliation so necessary for humanity to cease being His enemy; the redemption of our whole humanity that enables us to praise Him worthily; the blessed hope of His return that will bring the resurrection of our dead physical being that will reunite with our soul and spirit; the eternal communion with the Godhead we will then enjoy with our whole redeemed selves; the complete victory over sin, death, the devil, and corruption of the fallen creation.

The revelation in nature, as Paul, state is Romans 1, declared the power and other invisible attributes being understood by the things that He created, even the revelation of the Godhead. But the fallenness of humanity, though knowing God, did not glorify Him as God, now were they thankful. Instead, humanity wishes to exchange the truth of God for manmade philosophies and idolatry. Unredeemed humanity can only gain the knowledge of being under God's wrath for their sin, and so rebels even further. We have the false ideas of evolution to replace the truth about creation and the origins of mankind. We have theories about a creation without God. We have humanistic explanations about man's role in the universe and responsibility towards it. We have relativistic approach to sin, were we accept various ideas as equal in being true and open acceptance of sinful choices as being right in the eyes of the one performing these sins, so as no one can feel guilty nor should anyone judge them.
