Thank you for your son Jesus Heavenly Father for without Him we are nothing. David, Kristie and the rest of his family are in need of prayer today so I ask that You be with them guiding them to understanding and keeping them in survival mode as You love and guide them in todays hard times Lord. Thank you for being loving, forgiving and most wise, & the 1 and ONLY God. I pray these things in the name of Jesus Christ Amen!

Thank you for your son Jesus Heavenly Father I pray, and E. ask, for strong protection and a huge breakthrough (esp. deliverance, healing and salvation in the family and beyond) for us and all in need. Most ppl are choosing evil and changing your word to fit their wants in life which in turn is corrupting everyone allowing satan to win and making others numb to a point they don't know what to do much less if they should say anything in fear of retaliation. Lord I ask that you give everyone the strength, as you have me, to speak out to all who will listen. Give them the courage to spread your word, wisdom, love giving you the glory and help them to understand that without You we are nothing. Thank you Lord. It is in Jesus name I pray these things, Amen! p.s. I for one, tho homeless and jobless, have never been so happy since I completely gave my trust to God making Jesus my Lord and Savior!

So you know, your in my prayers, almost, daily David! The world is not a happy place for most of us in these difficult times! *Heavenly Father I thank you for your son Jesus for without Him, in our lives, things could be sooo much worse. Lord, as you well know, in our trying to get bills paid, food in our mouths and simply survive on a daily basis with all the evil around us is hardening our hearts and making us numb so I ask Lord that you keep us strong so we can be with you in heaven soon. Well when we pass or rise up (rapture). In Jesus name I pray Amen!

I love to look, listen, gather and learn as much as I love to engage.

Sometimes it's best to just say Amen when you can't improve a reply.

    Hi Mackoylia.

If you're asking do we have to clean up ourselves before we come to the Lord. The answer is No. We can't clean up ourselves. It's Christ who cleanse us. So yes you come to him as you are. Once you receive Christ spirit there os spiritual growth. You are given a new heart. Sanctification comes after salvation.

2 Corinthians 5:17-18 . Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

    And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

    I hope this helps.

    God bless.

    Gloria,

I would say that if the Lord is putting it on someone's heart and persuading them to gamble with their money, than it should be okay for that person. I do not gamble because the Lord has put it on my heart not to gamble. I cannot speak for anyone else because if the Lord is leading them to gamble, who am I to say it is wrong for that person.

I do agree with GiGi that it can take over a person's will power and ruin a life. I have seen it happen to some people who were close to me.

In anything we do, and it doesn't even need to be gambling, it can be anything, but whatever it it, does it glorify God?

I'm probably the oddball here, but I always like to fall back on Romans 14:23 which says, "That which is not of faith is sin."

That word faith literally means persuasion. That's what faith means, persuasion. So if I keep that in mind, anything I do, apart from God's persuasion (Persuading me to do whatever it is I'm doing), for me that would be sin.

    Hi Dere.

    Salvation goes out to everyone.

John 1:29. The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

1 John 2:2. And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for our's only, but also for the sins of the WHOLE WORLD.

Revelation 22:17. And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let HIM THAT HEARETH say, Come. And let HIM THAT IS A THIRST come. And WHOSOEVER WILL, let him take the water of life freely.

Romans 10:9-10. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, AND SHALT BELIEVE IN THINE HEART that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

    I hope this helps.

    God bless.

    Hi Giannis,

I did some reading some time ago about the Nicolaitans and this man, Nicolas was a proselyte from Antioch. Many believe, and from the history of this man, that he eventually left God's work somewhere down the line and he gathered his own following.

Nicolas is mentioned in Acts 6:5. He's one of the men that were chosen to distribute bread to the Greek speaking Jewish community.

Some historical documents say that Nicolas left the church and became a Gnostic, and began spreading false teaching.

And because his name is Nicolas, they were called the Nicolaitans. They were followers of Nicolas, and the trail leads back, at least to the historians and the archaeologists, to this Nicolas of Antioch. Just a side note!

I do thank you for your thoughts on both Koine and modern Greek. Some of the Greek you have shared has helped me out.

    Hello again Henry.

I think this is a wonderful topic to discuss here! Christ in us, our hope of Glory!

First of all, Jesus is our only hope for any glory in the life to come.

Secondly, He lives in us through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, so we taste this hope by His presence. This is our guarantee that we will receive a future hope, since we have a present hope of Christ in us.

Thirdly, the content of our hope is a number of things:

    a. to share in Jesus' glory in the next life.

    b. the redemption of our bodies in the resurrection

    c. the removal of the sinful nature and sinfulness from our souls

    d. seeing Jesus face to face in the next life.

    e. having a fuller understanding of the greatness of God

    f. the joy and satisfaction that will come to us in the next life as we receive the completion of our salvation

    g. the reception of the riches and treasures prepared for us since before the creation

    h. the culmination of all that God has planned for the redeemed to His praise

Fourthly, our hope is not wishful thinking, but a hope based in certainty that God is true to His Word and will not disappoint us or fail us. He is faithful and able to fulfill all that He has promised.

Fifthly, we receive this hope when we believe in Jesus for our salvation. It is implanted in us by the Holy Spirit.

Henry, I am sure that others will have better things to say than I have here. I look forward to reading what others say on this most excellent topic.

Gigi In the gospel of Luke 4:6 the devil also known as Satan or before he fell

Lucifer said to Jesus Christ He would give him the power and glory of this world

For that was delivered to him and that occurred in Genesis when by deception

It was taken from Adam and stolen by Satan. That is why in 2 Corinthians 4:4

He is called God of this world and also known as prince of the power of the air.

But understand the difference the true God owns the world the adversary rules

It and manipulates to deceive even the very elect. Who do you think runs the

Governments and kingdoms and will set up the one world government and is

Causing all the severe weather. Man worshipping other God's is opening the

Floodgates for the enemy to work,it's the same thing in the old testament.

Dear Anthony, I will pray tonight.

Dear Heavenly Father, Anthony needs Your constant help to keep his breathing normal. We recognize that every breath comes from You and You have even numbered the hairs on our heads. So we can trust You to provide for what we need each day. Since we all and especially Anthony need to breathe every second of the day, keep vigil over him and cause all of his airway connections to work normally.

Also, Father, we ask that You will heal Anthony's mind of what he witnessed the other day. Remove this memory from him and prevent the enemy from returning it to his memory. Give him peace of mind and rest from any disturbance in his thinking. We ask all of this of You, Father, in the name of Your Son, Jesus. Amen.

Hi Alex. In Matthew 4:8-10, we read, "Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve."

In this specific test that Satan placed before Jesus, we note that Jesus didn't oppose Satan on the point of "All these things will I give thee", but on the point of 'falling down & worshipping him (Satan)'. Even though God is the Creator & Sustainer of the World & will always have full authority over all His Creation, the advent of sin into mankind which also affects the rest of creation, Satan is now in the seat of control over the hearts & minds of men ( 2 Timothy 2:26; 1 John 5:19). He has captivated our hearts by the deceitfulness of sin, men given over wholly to him, and only by the presentation of the Life-giving Gospel can those same sinners have a spark of Holy Light enter in that can upset Satan's plans & strong grip.

So, presently the World is under Satan's control & deception, as he blinds hearts & minds to the Truth of the Gospel, but God still has the final say & of course the ultimate victory when Satan will one day be bound & destined to that eternal flame and the new heavens & earth arrive, without the stain of corruption ( Revelation 20:10-15; Revelation 21:1-3).

    Hi Henry,

I agree that Satan is the god of this world, but I do not recall a Scripture that says that man or God gave dominion of the earth over to him. Can you cite the Scripture passage(s) that say this?

While mankind was given dominion over animals, I don't think that God gave mankind total dominion over all the earth. God has always been the sovereign over creation, not man, not Satan. Can you cite any Scripture that says that man had total dominion over the created world?

I do think that the entrance of sin into mankind resulted in the loss of many things and the corruption of all of creation. By disobeying God, Adam and Eve became separated from God like Satan is separated from Him. Rather than becoming more like God in eating the from the tree of Knowledge of good and evil, Adam and Eve, (and all of humanity) became more like Satan. This is why we call it a "fall". Instead of moving upward, closer to God, sin caused Adam and Eve to fall downward, or away from God. Thankfully, God was gracious to Adam and Eve after they sinned, just as He is gracious to all humanity. God planned all along, even before the creation of the world and the spiritual realm to redeem humanity, but not Satan and the evil angels.

How thankful we all should be to Him for His saving grace. He did not leave mankind without a hope to be restored. Satan and his evil angels do not have such a hope. I think keeping this in mind can help us understand why Satan and his evil angels are so intent on destroying mankind. He does not want us to receive what he cannot every have. He does not want mankind to be recipients of God's grace and mercy when he is not such a recipient. He also wants to bring worship to himself, drawing mankind away from worshipping God who made them and himself. He will forever continue to grow more and more wicked even as in the end of history he will be thrown in the lake of fire to be punished for all eternity.

Thankfully, we do not have such an end.

    Giannis,

Thank you for the information. Since Scripture didn't really explain the teachings of the Nicolatians, we may not know definitively what they taught and practiced that was so egregious to the Lord.

This was walking distance close to Jerusalem. The New Testament gives no indication Jesus ever had any transportation other than boat or on foot. A think that was pretty much the same for most people then. (Exception was when he arrived in Jerusalem before the crucifixion riding on the donkey. What has been termed by churches as Palm Sunday) By all evidence Jesus never visited any major city. He never was more than 200 miles from his home area and around the Sea of Galilee. Highly recommend "What If Jesus had Never Been Born by D. James Kennedy & Jerry Newcombe.

Jesus and the apostles walked or at times took a boat. No need for Health Clubs when you walk every day and for the distances they did.

Thanks for everyone's contribution. This is a wonderful venue.

    Hi Gloria,

I, too, think that it is ok to participate in gambling. However, like other things (alcohol intake) it can take over someone's willpower and bring ruin to one's life.

But some can gamble as a kind of entertainment and not spend more than they intend and their winnings and losings balance out. My Mom was one who was able to play bingo or other types of gambling with self-control. She kept track of her winnings and losings and pretty much stayed even. So, as entertainment, it was money spent for that. She did not go to movies, out to dinner, or most other types of entertainment.

But other people may be more prone to risk taking in many areas of their life, gambling being one of them. It is not the act of gambling that is wrong, it is the need for risk taking that leads to sin.

    Hi Luke,

Yes, Paul is the apostle whose evangelism to the Gentiles are recorded in his epistles and Acts. He also evangelized Jews that were dispersed in the areas he evangelized. At a specific time, he stopped preaching in the synagogues, but when he was preaching to crowds, there most likely were Jews among those who listened.

Also, some of the 12 apostles also evangelized to peoples in areas that had many Gentiles. So Paul was not the only one who evangelized the Gentiles. We just don't have recorded in Scripture what the other apostles did and where they preached.
