Pamela it's good to hear from you . Best advice has already been given by T Levi's I see . Read your Bible every day , even if you can only manage one verse that's ok . Start talking to God . You can do that in a formal way in prayer , start with Dear Heavenly Father or something similar and end your prayer with , through the name of Jesus Christ or something similar . You can also talk to him in your head and heart as you go about your day . Don't be afraid to say what you think and feel . Be honest and open with Him , He already knows everything about you but it's very therapeutic for you to pour out your heart to your Creator . I would say read this site often , however there are many conflicting views on here so it's best for you to get very comfortable with your Bible before you take any notice of us squabbling children . Do you know anyone who does go to church ? Maybe ask them what their church is like ? Baby steps Pamela , God knows you and He will bring you to Him at the pace that's right for you and Him . Never forget to thank Him for all your blessings .

Thank you brother for your kind words & encouragement. You certainly have the Barnabas spirit, 'the son of consolation/encouragement'. I perceive that you too would love to share a lot more here, except that work & other commitments unfortunately intrude. Rest assured we always look forward to your thoughts & Scriptures given, to consider & meditate on. Every blessing.

When I was sick a year ago I memorized Psalms 91:1-16. God immediately put me back on my feet. Glory to God. Twice I was close to death, but God let me live to do His will on earth. My son was once lost, but I showed him my deepest love. Next thing I know he tells me "I love you" every conversation. Everyday I sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying..in my own created tune Revelation 15:3-4. Recently realized Psalms 37 applies to current events. I am down on my knees praising and glorifying God and thankful for people like you on this site. We all have individual family issues and sometimes overwhelmed, but rest assured God will always be on your side. I experienced God's presence at a very young age. My testimony to you is that you seek Him first and be saved 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 and The Holy Spirit will never leave you. Claim the power of God and do whatever it takes to do God's will. His will is complete and all written in the most important book on earth which we all called the Bible. Rejoice evermore!

    Thank you Mishael,

I do persist in prayer for my sons and others I know who are prodigals. I stand int he gap for them and, as you say, go to war for them in prayer. I understand what you are saying. I know that these evil entities are overcome by our faith-filled prayers and the insistence that these loved ones are marked for salvation, not for destruction. Two of my sons have recurring depression/anxiety and I must, as you say, speak to these with the authority God gives to His children to fight against powers and principalities and evil.

Thank you for thinking of me tonight and my sons. My second son and I just finished up canning beans and pickles today. That was a new adventure for us to do together. Haven't canned in 20 years of so. Thankful I have the time to do this now.

    Hello Mackoylia,

We can never be accepted by God as we are. We are sinners and live with a sinful nature that permeates all of our being. We can only be accepted by God on the basis of Jesus' death and resurrection and the righteousness He imputes to those who believe the Gospel.

However, God saved us while we were still sinners and enemies to Him and dead in our sins. This was strictly God's workings and not man's. So, anyone is able to be saved, no matter how evil they are or what wickedness they have done. But salvation comes by receiving the grace offered through the work of the Holy Spirit who regenerates us and give us faith to believe in Jesus and the Gospel. Any who believe this way are saved, no matter what they have been like before they believed that Jesus has saved them and that their sins are forgiven because He shed His blood to take away all of our sins.

Those who are sincerely humble and contrite of heart in seeking Him He will never cast out.

    Hello Lyle,

That is an interesting viewpoint. I don't agree with it, because I do think Jesus was speaking of literally three days and three nights in the grave when He spoke those words concerning His fast approaching death and resurrection. Have a good evening.

Thank you for your son Jesus Heavenly Father. I ask that you be with the thief that stole a mini DV collection and have them returned to Theo Nemeth. Let this person come to you in repentance never to steal again. In Jesus name I pray Amen!

You are correct Chris. I cannot just leave. We need all the saints and encourage everyone to be saved. God wants us to take care of everyone until we have ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands; Revelation 5:11

We really are in perilous times. The evil forces are more pronounced on earth. I personally will be responsible to God if I do not share the truth that is all based on the Bible.

Just to let everyone know I am more comforted by each of your kind responses. You guys inspired me to do more.

    Romans 1:11-12

For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established; That is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me. I prayed for each and everyone of you and your family to be stronger, healthier, joyful, and at peace in God's grace. Agape.

Someone on another site says "The Bible is just for Israelites. He (God) has not dealt with any other nations" Psalms 147:19&20.. So would it be correct for me to say.."ya the old testament yet everything after Acts 13 is for everyone that excepts Christ as Lord & Savior repenting & believing that when He died for all and all our sins, it is finished! Meaning ..we can never do ANYthing to get to heaven, ever, unless we do just that.! I'm looking for the actual scripture, because he is correct in saying he doesn't want opinions only scriptural proof. That's understandable and what I should have done to begin with. soon as I get a chance yet phones dead and don't want that app on here. Anyone like to send a few?

O God, who would fold both heaven and earth in a single peace:

let the design of thy great love light upon the waste of our wraths and sorrows:

and give peace to thy Church,

    peace among nations,

    peace in our dwellings,

    and peace in our hearts,

    Peace and blessing in families,

through thy Son, our Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen.

Father, we praise you with all your creatures. They came forth from your all-powerful hand; they are yours, filled with your presence and your tender love. Praise be to you!

Son of God, Jesus, through you all things were made. You became part of this earth, and you gazed upon this world with human eyes. Today you are alive in every creature in your risen glory. Praise be to you!

Holy Spirit, by your Light you guide this world towards the Father's love and accompany creation as it groans in travail. You also dwell in our hearts and you inspire us to do what is good. Praise be to you!

Godhead of infinite love, teach us to contemplate you in the beauty of the universe, for all things speak of you.Awaken our praise and thankfulness for every being that you have made. Give us the grace to feel profoundly joined to everything that is.

God of love, show us our place in this world as people of your love, for all the creatures of this earth, for not one of them is forgotten in your sight. Enlighten those who possess power and money that they may avoid the sin of indifference, that they may love the common good, advance the weak, and care for this world in which we live.

The poor and the earth are crying out. O Lord, seize us with your power and light, help us to protect all life, to prepare for a better future, for the coming of your Kingdom of justice, peace, love and beauty.

    Praise be to you! Amen.

    Hi Alex N;

The grace of God be with your spirit, it is hard to speak about the salvation of the spirit, soul and body seeing most of the church thinks they are already saved by the Lord Jesus death on Calvary, seems to me they ignore the most clearest understanding of scripture like James 1:21 informing us that our soul is not saved but it can be saved by obedience unto the Ten Commandments written in the heart.

    Stay blessed

    Hi Gigi;

As I have stated earlier, the physical body of Christ was only in the grave 3 days and two nights, but the prophesy of Jonah will be 3 days and 3 nights, therefore I submit to you the prophesy is about the three thousand years the church will be in the earth, the two thousand years is about to end and the third day is about to begin, for a total of three days and three nights for the spiritual body of Christ in the earth.

    God's grace

    Hi GIGI;

I see you disagree with Christ dying on Friday, so before we go down the road, know I am not a catholic, after saying that I will explain to you there are more ways to read a bible than literally, you see it was also written metaphorically, in shadows and typologies in allegory and so forth, so when Jesus said he would be in the earth three days and three nights he was not speaking about his literal body, rather he was speaking about the church, we have now been here two days and two nights and the third day is coming known as the millennium, so the body of Christ will be in the earth for three days and three nights, at the end of that time we have the white throne judgement, then we enter the new heaven and new earth. We have not dis honored the word of God at all by teaching he died Friday and rose Sunday, after all he rose the first day of the week.

    stay blessed

    Hello Brian. To your questions:

John 16:23, "And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you." The disciples of Jesus were continually with Him, talking with Him & asking questions - whether for knowledge or making personal requests. And Jesus dealt with those questions. But He was to leave them soon & they would no longer be able to speak with Him as they were doing now. So, He tells them to make their requests direct to the Father, asking in the Name of His Son. Does this mean that we can't speak to Jesus directly in our prayers? I believe we can, as we can also talk to and ask of God, even as Jesus directed His disciples. But what Jesus spoke to His disciples was giving them a Word of comfort & direction concerning their requests, that they could hereafter speak to God in His absence.

I think you're referring to the song with the first line, "I come to the garden alone." And possibly the lines, "And he walks with me - And he talks with me", that is causing you concern. You're right, Jesus is now seated at the right Hand of the Father in Heaven, but I know that by His Spirit (as is God's Spirit), He is with us and in us. Physically, Jesus is in Heaven (according to the Word), but His Spirit still lives in us to minister to us in every way. Does He then walk & talk with us? I believe so - as my relationship is to the Triune God & I have access to God through His Spirit. Then I should be able to converse with Him & enjoy His company as if He was right there beside me.

And why you have not heard sermons on the above, or even isolated references to them, I cannot say. But you can always make mention of these matters to your pastor/elder for clarification. Sometimes we hold these things in our hearts & stew over them, when often sharing them with our leaders & seeking their help, will bring us clarity & peace.

IMO, I would say no, Memorial is not the same as Ceremonial

A ceremony is a unified ritualistic event with a purpose, usually consisting of a number of artistic components, performed on a special occasion.

A Memorial is Something, such as a monument or holiday, intended to celebrate or honor the memory of a person or an event.

Zack. One of the great truths in God's word is the naming of male children

In eastern culture, so when Mary was told at conception to name the child

When born Jesus which is ,(God with us, saviour ) that was a big deal in

Eastern culture because no one in the family was called this. When Zachariah

Was told by the angel about John the Baptist before birth to name him John

And didn't believe he was shut up until the day he was named and called him

John which blew away all the relatives. It's a good thing Mary said to Gabriel

Be it unto me according to thy word.

    Brother James:

    They are the same; BUT,

    Christ spoke other words ALSO:

And ALL CHRIST'S Words will COME TO PASS.

Ezekiel 18:31 Cast away from you all your transgressions; whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a NEW heart and a NEW spirit: for WHY WILL YE DIE, O house of Israel?

This QUESTION has to be ANSWERED: so we will ONLY DIE ONCE, and that DEATH happens while we stand on our own two feet.

Revelation 21:5 .....I make ALL THINGS NEW ....

So there will be a NEW MT. OLIVE: that is in NEW Jerusalem, a city made of LIVING stones, and a NEW temple therein.

This NEW PLACE, where God DWELLS is YOU.

Hebrews 9:27 For it is appointed to man ONCE TO DIE; but after this the JUDGEMENT.

Remember, ALL things have been made NEW.

Christ has BUILT a NEW HOUSE.

Hebrews 3:4 For every house is builded by some man; but he that build (ready done) ALL THINGS is God.

Hebrews 3:6 But Christ as a son over HIS OWN HOUSE, whose HOUSE WE ARE ...the NEW house of God, where God dwells.

    What is this NEW judgement.

1 Peter 4:17 FOR THE TIME IS COME (Christ second coming, as the Holy Ghost, to LIVE is his NEW house: YOU) that JUDGEMENT must begin at the (NEW) house of GOD.

Hebrews 9:28 So Christ was once OFFERED (in the flesh) to bear the sins of many (first coming); and unto them who LOOK FOR HIM (the thief in the night) he shall APPEAR the SECOND TIME (second coming, like a thief in the night) without sin UNTO SALVATION.

This house, our body, already has someone; the spirit of deception, that old serpent the devil, living in it; so that inhabitant has to DIE to make way for the NEW:

Colossians 1:27 ...this mystery ...Christ in you ...

Matthew 12:28 But if I (the NEW man, Christ IN YOU) by the SPIRIT of GOD (TRUTH) cast out (kill, destroy) devils (the spirit of lies and deception, that live in MY HOUSE) then the Kingdom of God HAS COME TO YOU.

Remember ALL THINGS have been made NEW, but you CANNOT see them with eyes of flesh.

God Bless YOU, the body of Christ

    Hello Giannis,

Please don't mind if I interject here. My married last name is Nichols. I looked up the meaning when we were engaged to see what my new name would mean. I found it meant "People of victory" which made me happy to know that. My first name means "mighty with the sword".

I don't know much about the Nicolatians either, and the root meaning of the name may very well mean both ideas mentioned by you and Jesse. But I guess we just need to understand that the Nicolatians were false teachers, leading people astray from what the apostles in those early decades of the Church. It would be good to know what heretical ideas these people taught or what wrong practices they promoted in the church. so, I hope to find out more from others here. I will study up more and share if I find out anything more.

You're welcome to fellowship with us here as you learn about Jesus.

I would start with reading the books of Luke 1, through to the end. Then Mark 1, through to the end.

James 1:5, says to ask for wisdom & He will give it to us.

    Hopefully these are helpful
