    Hi Haley.

God bless you and thanks for sharing this with us, It's encouraging and a blessing to those of us who is going through a similar trial. Or perhaps will be. We can trust in the Lord and allow him to minister his love, mercy and peace in our lives.

We don't have to do anything outstanding to be a recipient of God's love. Love is what he is, He displayed that through his son. stay in touch.

    We're praying with you.

    God bless.

Is this a coincidence or what, lol

This books chapter is speaking on the STRUCTURE OF THE SEVEN EPISTLES TO THE CHURCHES, AS A WHOLE chapters 2&3 whereby God was pleased with only two, beginning with the church of EPHESUS who are biblically illiterate, they don't teach God's charge.

The Nicolaitans are hateful to God,,, We wont go there lol,,, their "Deeds" in the verse are their "Works" .

You will know them by their Works, which God hates. They will appear "in that day, That Great and Terrible Day of the LORD.

And I believe in one holy catholic and apostolic church . Do you ? I don't . Each to their own .
  • Jesse - In Reply - 2 years ago
    Charlene,

I don't know of any place in the bible that says that. There are several places however that tell us that we are to forgive our enemies. Also, forgiveness does go both ways. Here are a few verses that might help you out:

    Luke 17:3-4

    Matthew 18:21-22

    Matthew 18:15

    Matthew 6:14-15

    Ephesians 4:32

Dear Bro/sis, a bit of help with the greek.

Nikolaos, which is the proper name in greek means "people's victory".

Nicolah does not mean anything in greek. Maybe it is something else?

    Hello Richard

When I said the Holly Spirit is going to go together with the church I didn't mean that He goes away completely from the world. This is not possible. God is present in the universe through His Spirit. As Paul said to Athenians we are all living inside Him(His Spirit), He fills the universe. But the ministry of the HS in the church pauses to exist. Because He leaves (His ministry ends) together with the church. There is no need for Him to stay behind (to minister), the purpose of being in the world is the church, no other reason. The Spirit was given to the church to protect us, to guide us, to guide the work of salvation, to give the teaching to the ministers, to reveal the truth in anyone of us, to make new births, to baptise believers in Him, give spiritual gifts etc, these will not be present after the rapture. Many things of the NT are not valid now. Of course the Blood of Jesus is always available to people but this is as far as it goes. Nothing else from the gospel follows in that age. If they were then we could claim that another church would be initiated again, but the church is not mentioned in the Revelation at all, just people sporadic here and there. Also no help from God to people (including believers) is mentioned in Rev, just wrath and only wrath. The only help is for Hebrews, that woman who is sent to the dessert to be protected from the satan. The 144000 seem to be the first fruits of the Hebrew nation to be saved, later the whole nation is saved.

The prophets of the Old Testament didn't have the Spirit dwelling in them. He came to them, the miracle or prophesy was performed, and then He went away. He didn't stay inside them as it occurs in the New Testament. So no wonder for the 2 prophets, they are the type of the Old Testament prophets. I don't understand what you say about the lukerwarm christians, do you mean that they will be all saved at the end? Probably you mean that, since this is what predestination is.

    Samuel was a farmer??
  • Topol - In Reply - 2 years ago
Ok , this is it very briefly . A Jewish farmer has four daughters and wants to make good marriages for each of them . He arranged for the eldest to marry an elderly widowed butcher but , she had already fallen in love with the village tailor who also loves her . The tailor is a very timid man and scared to ask the farmer for his daughters hand in marriage but he eventually plucks up the courage and the farmer , who is very soft hearted , agrees to let him marry his eldest daughter . There's a bit of trouble when the farmer has to tell the butcher that he can't marry his daughter and also the farmer's wife takes a bit of persuading but she comes round in the end . When it comes to the next daughter there's big trouble , she wants to marry a revolutionary and go and live in a foreign land , he's very handsome though so again , after a bit of hoo haa everything gets sorted , the third daughter actually runs off and marries a heathen and she is completely cut off from her family forever . The fourth is still to young to marry anyone so stays at home . The whole narrative is interspersed with some gorgeous songs , my favourite is called Sunrise Sunset . In the end , the Babylonians come and take everyone into captivity , again another lovely song called By the Rivers of Babylon . You may wish to read those two books for yourself , just to double check the facts .

Could someone give me a quick summary of 1 and 2 Samuel? Thanks!
  • Delilah - In Reply on 2 Chronicles 22 - 2 years ago
So , Jehoram is Ahaziahs father . 2nd Kings Ch 8 V 16+17 tells us that Jehoram was 32 yrs old when he began his reign and he reigned 8 years , that makes him 40 yrs old when he died . 2nd Chronicles Ch 21 agrees with 2nd Kings on this matter . So if Jehoram was dead by the time he was 40 then he couldn't have a 42yr old son as stated in 2nd Chronicles Ch 21+ Ch 22. Therefore Ahaziah could not have been 42 yrs old when he began his reign as it says in 2nd Chronicles ,he must have been 22 as it says in 2nd Kings . Phew .

Why is "Endor" in this translation one word while in the Hebrew text it is two words " "?

It seems that the English translation of "Endor" should be "Ein Dor".

Ronnette, I concur with both Mishael and GiGi. I've read the things you have shared and find plenty of value in those things. I do hope that you will remain here. The only thing I am curious about is that in one of your posts (I believe yesterday), you said, and I quote "You only have one chance in life and when you die, you die pecker head."

If you are still here, can you please elaborate on what you meant by "pecker head?" Was that directed at anyone in particular?

Dear Anthony, I will pray for you once again.

Dear Heavenly Father, I pray for Anthony today in Jesus' name. Please cause Anthony's airways to calm down, relax, and open up to restore proper breathing in him. Please remove what is triggering these breathing difficulties in Anthony and bring healing to his airways so that he does not continue to have these repeat attacks. Father, I also pray to You to remove whatever is in his right hand that Anthony wants removed. Do not allow this object to do any further harm to Anthony. We ask this of You Father, because we know that You hear us and answer our prayers because Jesus is our perfect Mediator. Amen.
  • The Nicene Creed and The Lost Books of the Bible - 2 years ago
I've looked into the "Lost Books of The Bible" online. So there are other historical books to read about people and the Bible. Too numerous for 1 book.

The Nicene Creed is one of the most famous and influential creeds in the history of the church, because IT SETTLED THE QUESTION of how Christians can worship one God and also claim that this God is three persons.

It was also the first creed to obtain universal authority in the church, and it improved the language of the Apostles' Creed by including more specific statements about the divinity of Christ and the Holy Spirit.

    NICENE CREED reads as follows:

"I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.

And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all worlds; God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God; begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father, by whom all things were made. Who, for us men and for our salvation, came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary, and was made man; and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate; He suffered and was buried; and the third day He rose again, according to the Scriptures; and ascended into heaven, and sits on the right hand of the Father; and He shall come again, with glory, to judge the quick and the dead; whose kingdom shall have no end.

And I believe in the Holy Ghost, the Lord and Giver of Life; who proceeds from the Father and the Son; who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified; who spoke by the prophets. And I believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. I acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins; and I look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen."

I've decided to return unto the faith I was raised in. I was ignorant and arrogant as youth, rejecting the God for I understood not him, nor his love. Pray for me brothers and sisters so that I may be forgiven for my sins and find my way back to the good Lord, merciful and wise and join his side in eternal life.
  • GiGi - In Reply - 2 years ago
    Dear Luke,

I am not offended that you considered me to be ignorant. For the record, I did not say you were evil and untrue. i said that the serpent seed doctrine is evil and untrue. That is my opinion, but I see that yours is that it is a true doctrine. Since this is so, I think we can end this thread as it seems that it is devolving into a struggle. I did not intend for it to go this way. But, even so, you are free to address me on my statements.
