Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.
2 Corinthians 1:3-4
Starting with verse 9 in Genesis 17 we see God establishes the Abrahamic covenant and with physical circumcision. This covenant was of blood from the male and established at that time (during the days of Abraham there was no law yet, no commandments) this being an early way of raising blood up. Now, thank goodness Christ Jesus was that Blood for us (especially for us men) as His Blood that he shed for us once we accept His Grace by Faith; this then circumcision is by the heart. The Apostle Paul explained it like this:
Romans 2:25
For circumcision verily profiteth, if thou keep the law: but if thou be a breaker of the law, thy circumcision is made uncircumcision.
Romans 2:26
Therefore if the uncircumcision keep the righteousness of the law, shall not his uncircumcision be counted for circumcision?
Romans 2:27
And shall not uncircumcision which is by nature, if it fulfil the law, judge thee, who by the letter and circumcision dost transgress the law?
Romans 2:28
For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither [is that] circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:
Romans 2:29
But he [is] a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision [is that] of the heart, in the spirit, [and] not in the letter; whose praise [is] not of men, but of God.
I hope this helps and now that you're saved. Please find a community of fellow believers to share the good news with and stay close to your KJV Bible. It's living Word which will guide you every step of the way.
"Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine:
For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes."
John 14 also deals with the same subject. I seldom use single verses, and when doing a study usually the chapters into either word or publisher without verse numbers. The next step is to outline the chapter. Then begin the study.
A phrase I use a lot is, I once was, but now I am." Yes, that comes from Amazing Grace, I consider this to be one of the best sermons ever presented. The study I am doing now is defining Discipleship.
This chapter is a continuation of a narrative indicting the unbelief Christ had to endure from all members of society. Of all His sufferings before the cross; perhaps this is the most neglected and unappreciated as it took up so much of his time and energy.
First off in verses 1-10 we see the unbelief of His own brethren (probably but possibly not necessarily exclusive to his mother; father; brothers and sisters although Joseph may have died by this point). Jesus' comment about not being His time yet could refer to the fact that He was still keeping things from those who would soon persecute Him once perceived as a threat such as Luke 5:14; or perhaps the full revelation which would occur at the cross.
Verse 15 shows once again their perception of a mere man which Christ responded to in verse 16-17 which once again shows the source of any true wisdom is from God above.
Following this; we once again have Christ validating doing Sabbath day healings to counter a repeated contentious issue. This helps to illustrate that when any TRUE miracles occur; persecution can't be too far behind.
Following this; another failed attempt to sieze Him occured with the Pharisees contending with those who believed in Christ. Apparently Elijah and a couple other prophets indeed came from Galilee; so the allegations of v. 52 were spurious. Since it wasn't His predetermined time to die yet; everyone scattered in v. 53
The Gospels and Letters do not contain many references from the OT unless they were specifically written to the Jews. The only reason I have been able to come up with is that they spend a lot of time on the OT and Revelation to avoid Rebirth and the part I refer to as Following Jesus.
What is noteworthy here are two concepts that can be illustrated starting in verse 10. Those who do the watering AND the sowing are not to be lifted up in any prideful manner. Christ was to be exalted; not Paul or Apollos as being the "better" teacher. Also; those doing the watering share in the reward which is often neglected with evangelistic campaigns today that don't continue afterwards with proper discipleship particularly with indigenous pastors on the ground today; or with crusades in the USA recently.
The famous passage about the Bema Seat in verse 15 appears tied in with the watering aspect; and seems to give further indication in the verses following that sin indeed causes burning up and loss. Many seem to say it means simply neutral actions that have no value such as activities done in church that aren't meaningful. It seems perfectly clear here that it indicates sin; and that which can damage others. I would refer to Matthew 5:19 as a cross reference here. It is clear from verse 16 also that events such as 1 Cor. 11:27 and 1 Cor. 5:5 serve as examples as well in the same book. Finally see Rev. 3:11. Losing a reward is a serious matter.
......Jesus said that the father wd send the H.G. IN MY NAME IMPLING THE H.G. wd be born in us via the seed of JESUS THE LIVING WORD...Whosoever receiveth one such Child in my name receiveth me....The H.G. will come in his name....THATS Y HE HAS TO KNOW US THATS WHEN THE GOOD SEED IS SOWN IN OUR HEARTS INITIATING A SPRITUAL PREGNANCY....The new birth....Unless you receive the KINGDOM of God as a lil Child you will in no wise enter in...ok gtg
.....The Ram caught in the thicket by his horns is a beautiful metaphor for Christ and his Crown of Thorns ..The Lord shall provide himself a lamb.....Abraham tells Isaac.
.....Thus there wd have to be an ISRAEL OF GOD....As in Gal. 6 :16...If Gods name is Abraham Issac and Jacob...GB
a. both Water Baptism and the Lord's Supper are considered ordinances of the Church, as we see both being received & performed by the apostles & the early Church: Acts 2:42; Acts 20:7; 1 Corinthians 10:16-21; 1 Corinthians 11:22-34; Romans 6:3-5; Acts 8:34-38; Acts 16:27-33; 1 Peter 3:20,21; 1 Corinthians 1:14-16. And since these 'ordinances' were never rescinded during the writing of the Scriptures, the Church has continued to observe them, albeit in different ways.
b. I agree that "being baptized into the Body of Christ is a spiritual baptism not a water baptism"; though both have different meanings. When a person is truly saved by the power of the Holy Spirit, the Spirit resides & takes ownership of this new child of God ( Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 12:13; Ephesians 4:5). The believer enters the family of God by the indwelling Spirit: this is Baptism of the Spirit. Whereas, water baptism is simply a public declaration of one's identification with Christ, which should occur very soon after conviction of sin, repentance & faith in Jesus' Sacrifice. Yet, today this order is rarely observed (but that's another matter). Can a person be water baptized, yet not have saving faith? It can happen. Or, can one be endued with the Holy Spirit & not be baptized in water? Most certainly as salvation comes by a Work of God in the heart & not by an act of immersion in water. But water baptism ought to follow as a part of God's saving Work & due diligence from the evangelist.
c. I don't see that Paul "stopped baptizing altogether". Rather the 1st Corinthians chapter 1 reference you gave speaks about him baptizing only a few, as others seemed unworthy because of their infighting & divisions, but his mission was to preach the Gospel & not be sidetracked with water baptizing, which others could fulfil. So, we would be hard pressed to find clear Scripture that rescinded water baptism for both believing Jew & Gentile.
John 5:1-15 John 5:16-23 John 5:24-29 And possibly more.
A whole little study on Wednesday morning, left to you. Hallelujah God Is Good!
Stand strong in the Word and God bless you in Jesus, love u in Christ.
I don't use the word 'creation' to refer to Christ's appearance, as that denotes that God created Jesus, as One Who had no previous existence (e.g. Adam & Eve were created, the angels were created, animals, etc. as well). Whereas Jesus was never created as He is the Word incarnate (made flesh); i.e. the Word was always in God's Being & God took His Word and embodied His Word with humanity. The Word, though in human form, never ceased to be vitally connected to God, i.e. the Word was always Divine (holding the Divine Nature), but for the sake of taking upon Himself flesh, for suffering & dying, Jesus made Himself of no reputation ( Philippians 2:6-8): Greek for that is 'ekenosen', emptied Himself of His full Divinity - which He had to of course, to become man with human limitations, aging & death.
You've also said that "Jesus is an EXTENSION of God" & I think I can understand your meaning with this, but I wouldn't use 'creation' for Jesus, because how can a created One also be the Creator & Sustainer of all things ( Ephesians 3:9; Colossians 1:13-17)? So, I'm unsure whether we're saying the same things & using specific words to describe Jesus' manifestation, or whether we need to discuss further what I've shared about the eternal Nature of Christ Jesus. Blessings.
The Holy Spirit fills the person who is willing to do God's Will. Jesus Himself had to submit to God.
God bless u in Jesus name, love u in Christ. John 5:1-15
The epistles are for you to follow, absolutely & continue to learn once you obey the gospel. Amen
People must learn that in the epistles, they are not written to sinners. Not written to the world. Romans- Jude are written to the saints. Written to the people that came from the book of Acts that were water baptized & received the Holy Ghost.
Now in Acts 19:2 , Paul asked certain disciples if they received the Holy Ghost since they first believed?. They said they had never heard of the Holy Ghost. Then they asked what then were they baptized under? They said John (the Baptist). So
then they baptized them in the name of the Lord Jesus.
And when Paul laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied. So you see, they obeyed Acts 2:38.
It is about the death, burial & resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Acts 2:41, Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.
Acts 2:42 And they continued steadfastly in the apostles doctrine & fellowship, & in breaking of bread, & in prayers.
Why are people dismissing the book of Acts?
And why are people dismissing Romans 6:3 -6
V 3 Know ye not, that so many of us
as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
V4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
V5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
V6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
Jesus was water baptized to fulfill all rightousness.
We must know God & obey the gospel to be saved.
We are going to be judged on how we have kept Gods word.
The Lord speaks.Listen.
A Light of revelation to the Gentiles,
And the glory of Your people Israel.
Romans 3:29
Or is God the God of Jews only? Is He not the God of Gentiles also? Yes, of Gentiles also,
You can ASK GOD for angels to fill the house what're the child lives and give protection and silence the mouths of lions. You pray for the removal of every spirit of rejection; then Ask God that the angels will ban the voices of rejection. To encamp around the child. To bring Gods peace and salvation to the home.
Sometimes when we turn our plate upside down, drink only water; the prayer receives immediate attention. The Lord will intervene. We cannot judge. But we can seriously cast out devils who wound the innocent. Control what you confess. I know it's hard. Release love and deny those critical spirits. Spirits have personalities.
You release blessing and protection. Keep emotions at bay. Ask the Lord to bring other Christians near to pray rightly. And God alone commands the angels. Work with Him.
Of course; everything boils down to money. As the governor of South Dakota mentioned on TV with Mr. Levin last night; food programs for poor children from the Federal Government was threatened to be shut down if the whole agenda wasn't accepted; and she had to fight for all girls and boys sports to stay that way. It is not surprising; therefore that that state is doing better than any other economically.
Once we see enough poverty and hunger in this country; these issues will probably tend to fade away. The challenge is being salt and light; and knowing when our kids should try to engage others and when they are endangered.
Another issue here which could tend to go through the cracks is those whose children get "Christian" education. The seminaries today; as well as traditionally sound colleges have in a large part gone awol; with the "woke" aagenda. There are more individuals apparently who can teach in such institutions who themselves aren't Christians. The church in a large part needs to possess what they confess; if we expect to preach the truth we'd better actually believe it as the Bible says. Again; I'm convinced that the runaway divorce rate and remarriage in the CHURCH started what we see today
Father, my husband is so disinterested in anything to do with Jesus and being saved. He does not understand the terrible consequences of dying in his sins and of not having Jesus as his Saviour. Lord, it disturbs me that he is so disinterested.
Convict him, Lord, of his sin and his need for a Saviour. Convict him of the terrible consequences of falling under God's wrath. Lord, I pray that You would turn his heart to the Lord Jesus and Father. Lord, please draw my husband into Your arms of forgiveness. In Jesus' name I pray.
According to Your Word, I ask that You remember me and my autistic child. Our needs. I give You the praise now for answers on the way. Open the doors of blessing. I receive it now by my faith in Jesus and Your Word to widows and orphans. Amen.
You are correct; God is not a body; but he exist in a BODY and that BODY is Christ.
Christ exist also in a BODY and that BODY is MANKIND, You and I.
God Bless YOU, his BODY.
I AM, Chris. Baptised into HIS NAME: I AM, Chris, the BODY of Christ.
It probably is good to step back here; and see that the whole concept of education has been turned on its head. Apparently; to the extent that teachers aren't even required to teach to pass their evaluations these days. Gone are the days where we were taught to compete with the rest of the world to secure the best knowledge; and skills to be a productive member of a WORKING society. When we are all expecting something for nothing; and not having any respect for authority; discipline or correction then we become selfish and spoiled people. This is a sign of a decaying society; as ancient Rome being destroyed from the inside out. The concept of pride; which the gay community likes to draw out from God's condemnation of Sodom shouldn't be entirely dismissed here. When we are proud of our "enlightened" mindset or our "freedoms" without God's righteousness then we succumb not just to unnatural relations; but greed; political agendas; atheism or whatever we choose to be our mantra.
I would strongly suggest that children be taught to be prayer warriors. If they are encouraged to band together; then it will be harder to stop them from being salt and light. This brings a clear demarcation from the self destruction this suicidal generation maintains when following the one who steals; kills and destroys. There used to be a Montessouri mindset (those places still exist) where competition was said to be unfair. Certainly; a Christian shouldn't laud any successes over anyone. However; we also should excel in our field; for instance with music as it isn't edifying to God not to put our whole mind; heart and soul into our profession whatever we do.
