    Hey Luke.

Good answer, you can see with Joseph's dream in Genesis 37:9 The sun and the moon and with Joseph twelve stars, Israel. You can eliminate Mary mother of Jesus for she did not have a remnant. You can eliminate the Church because it did not birth Jesus, it is the body of Christ.

The man child Jesus, the woman, Israel brought forth is to rule all nations with a rood of iron and after His resurrection he ascended to heaven to the right side of God. We see the dragon trying to devour Jesus with Herod, and the killings of all the man children of 2 years old of all the land, Matt. 2:16.

Then after the dragon is cast out of heaven permanently, in vs. 8 no place is found anymore in heaven. Satan is wroth with the woman/Israel and went to make war with the remnant of her seed starting the three- and one-half years tribulation.

    God bless,

Dear Cheryl, I will pray for Tyler and Justin today.

Dear Heavenly Father, we come to You in the name of Your Son, Jesus, to lift up Tyler to You and ask that You will restore him to complete health, mind, soul, and body. Deliver him from the work of the devil in his life and take away all of the harm done to him by this enemy who robbed him of so many things and damaged him and his life. I pray today that this healing and restoration begin today with this prayer and that You will undo all of the evil work of the enemy in Tyler's life and create in Tyler all that You have purposed him to be. I also lift up Justin to You today, and ask that You draw Justin closer and closer to You each day as the Holy Spirit works in Justin to sanctify him and grow his faith in You and Your Son, Jesus. Create in Justin a deep hunger for You and Your Word and satisfy his spiritual needs, strengthening him in his walk with You and grounding him firmly in faith that holds him steadfast throughout his life. Amen.

    Brenda,

Yes, all of Israel (not just Judah) was God's chosen people. The O.T. states this many times. You can google the question and get answers.

And, the tribes of the Israelite kingdom (northern) that was taken captive to Assyria were scattered across the world as they migrated out of Assyria to other regions. Some returned to the promised land in Palestine, but most migrated. Many lost their sense of identity as Israelites as the generations passed and they continued to migrate further and further from the land of Israel.

God knows each member of these tribes, where they are located, all about them.

The people of Judah (Southern Kingdom) were taken to Babylon after the northern kingdom was taken captive to Assyria. Some of the tribe of Judah, Levi, and Benjamin returned to Judah after the captivity, but most decided to stay in Babylon and many also migrated out of the region like the other tribes did.

The text detailing the agony of Jesus in the garden of Gethsemane does say that. I am not sure of the Greek rendering, maybe Giannis can help us with this text.

Dear Vanessa, I will pray for your boyfriend today. I do not know what rn is?

Dear Heavenly Father, in Jesus name I lift up Vanessa's boyfriend and ask that You will deliver him from these severe angry emotions and rage. I ask that You heal him of what has hurt him so badly to cause this pattern in his character. I ask that You renew within him a right spirit and clean heart. I ask that You guide him to the person and situation that will be most helpful for him. I ask that You protect Vanessa physically and emotionally from this man's anger and rage. Keep her safe and give her wisdom to know if this relationship is truly healthy and godly or not. Asking all this of You, Father, in the name of Your son, Jesus. Amen.

Hi Donna, I agree. We do sin in thought, word and deed, and in things we have failed to do. Jesus said about adultery, if one lusts in their hearts (thinks lustful thoughts) they have already committed adultery. So, He is saying that thoughts of sinful things are sinful for us and we are to confess and ask for God's help in cleansing our minds from such thoughts. These sins of thoughts just go to reveal our sinful nature in us. It brings forth sin even when we least expect it. This is what is called "moral depravity". Even when we are not actively sinning in thought word and deed, we are still sinful in each moment because of the depravity of our being from this sinful nature that is part of us. In heaven, we will be rid of this sinful nature, Thank the Lord!

    Anthony,

Thank you for all of these Scripture verses that speak about the dangers of alcohol consumption. Personally, I do not drink alcoholic beverages. Tried it when I was a young adult a few times, hated it, and so left it at that and decline to drink alcohol. I have always been one who avoided anything that alters my thinking, judgement, etc.

But I do think we have liberty as a believer to decide on this matter. Paul says all things are permissible but not always beneficial.

He even instructed Timothy to drink some type of alcoholic beverage to calm his stomach issues. I think for most people it is best to not drink alcohol, but if someone who is a believer wishes to do so and can do so responsibly, then I think it is permissible according to Paul's instruction. But, as you said, there is a lot of Scripture that warns us to be careful with alcohol, and we should take that seriously, as well.

Ultimately, it doesn't honor God to be inebriated, even slightly, as most of the time it impairs our judgment and ability to check our actions, words, and thoughts.

    Jesus Prayer of Thanksgiving

    Luke 10:21-24

    21. In that hour Jesus rejoiced in Spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babies: even so, Father for so it seemed good in thy sight.

    22. All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him.

    23. And he turned him unto his disciples, and said privately, Blessed are the eye which see the things that ye see.

    24. For I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them, and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.

    Living Water

    John 7:37-39

    37. In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thrist, let him come unto me, and drink.

    38. He that believeth on me, as the scriptures hath said, out of his belly shall flow of living water.

    39. (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given, because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

John 1: 2, tells us we become his sons once we are saved. All mankind is his creation, but we are not his children unless we are in Jesus Christ.

Dear Sylvia. This same controversy takes place in many congregations

"And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was "as it were" great drops of blood falling down to the ground."

So my opinion is that His sweat was "like they were big drops of blood", not actually drops of blood, how can that be anyway? Jesus in His agony was sweating a lot and continiously. GBU

Dear Donna. Thoughts are thoughts and you can't stop them coming into your mind. Some are ours, some are put there by satan and some by God. When you realize that a thought is sinful just throw it away. If you don't and keep it in your mind and start "working" on it, it will eventually go down into your heart and then possibly will lead you to commiting a sin. So once you start working on it (which means that you have accepted that idea), it becomes a sin. ( James 1:14-15)

A friend once said that metaphor "You can't prevent birds sitting on the branches of your tree but you can send them away."

Dear Adam I searched that in the Septuagint Text (not the Masoretic), where instead of YAHWEH (I AM WHO I AM) the ancient translators translated this name from Hebrew to Greek as "THE EXISTING" [God]. (So GiGi is right in her post)

The Septuagint Text was a translation of the OT done during the 3rd centuary BC for the Jews that inhabited the Greek influenced world at that time, and spoke the Greek language not Hebrew. This translation was done during a time that Jews still knew exactly what YAHWEH meant.

So when Jesus said to Jews "before Abraham I am", He most possibly meant "before Abraham I exist". Not existed but exist, before-now-and for ever.

    Amen Fred.

    Paul said it best.

1 Corinthians 3:11. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

    God bless you.

    Amen Luke.

    That's easily seen in scripture.

The Church didn't bring on the man child "Christ". Revelation 12:5. and Revelation 19:15-16.

    Christ brought on the Church!!

    Here's just two of many.

    Matthew 16:18.

    1 Corinthians 3:10-11.

As you said Israel is the woman and she brought on the man child who is Christ. " Romans 9:4-5."

Also Revelation 12:1. parallels with Genesis 37:9-10. It gives a description of who the Sun and the Moon and the twelve stars are.

Now hold on to your hat!

    God bless.

    Question:

Are men and women alike all considered Children of God or are we considered Sons of God?
  • GiGi - In Reply on Psalms 1 - 3 years ago
    Hello Francesco,

I will speak to your first question of what does I AM THAT I AM mean?

I have read that this name means "The eternal self-existing one" which means that God is the source of His own existence and His existence is eternal, without beginning nor ending.

    Dear FREE

Typos happen. Like you said, the computer or phone likes to think for us and that accounts for many errors. And when we are "free writing our thoughts by typing, it is so easy to misspell or transpose letters in a word. You have the additional challenge of having your thoughts be translated into English.

I usually try to take in the whole thought expressed when I read a typo and then can figure out what the person to write. So, grace to you, FREE. WE have far bigger things in life to be upset about besides typos.

I always enjoy reading your posts. You give good insight with compassion and concern for the one you are responding to and I appreciate this about you.
