We definately need to put the work in . It's all there to strengthen us in time of need . We will all have those tough times in life . This is what the Bible is for , to strengthen and comfort us . God gives us everything we need in this life .

U say they were dying instantly , so , doesn't that mean they would have died instantly ? We don't know how long they were in the garden like that , it could have been a while , certainly longer than an instant . How did they loose their flesh ? Please explain that to me as the Bible doesn't . It doesn't say they were fleshless it says they were naked . I've never heard this explanation before and it's definately not in the Bible so , may I ask how u came to this conclusion please ?

I believe that Jesus could have sinned , if he couldn't have sinned then how could he have been tempted to sin ? That's just illogical and God is not the author of confusion , how could Jesus b the victor over sin if he wasn't capable of sin ? Where is the victory over sin if he couldn't have sinned ? If there's a victory there must first b a battle , he faced the same battles that we do , with our sinfull human inclinations and weaknesses . Sin is just disobedience to God's command .
  • Chris - In Reply - 2 years ago
Hi Douglas. I may have missed your question earlier, "if they felt Jesus could have sinned". I believe that since Jesus came as a Man, fully human, He didn't inherit the sin nature through Mary, as we do through our parents. Jesus was wholly pure - if He wasn't, He would be unacceptable to be the spotless Lamb of God sacrificed for our sins.

But in His temptations from Satan, & no doubt throughout His earthly sojourn, Satan endeavoured to cause that sin nature to be created in Jesus, by causing him to be tempted and to sin. But Jesus resisted Satan at every point, thereby remaining pure from that sin nature, by not entertaining sin. So yes, Jesus could have sinned, if He allowed sin to take root making him a sinner - but He refused Satan's thrusts & remained the fully acceptable Sacrifice for those of us ensnared by sin.

And in respect to a change in meaning if using "God the Lamb or God the Son", it would be so if Jesus' first appearance was as a Man, born of Mary by the Power of God. But if Jesus had a pre-incarnate existence, coming to Earth from God, as He said He did, then I have no problem in how the Lamb & the Son are presented in those phrases, as His inclusion within the Godhead are indeed God's Expression as the Lamb & the Son.

Yes Brenni. There are only Ten Commandments given by God into the hand of Moses at Mt. Sinai. Exodus 34:27,28 confirms this number. There may be some who view the Ten Commandments in a different way, i.e. grouping of verses together, or separating them to form other commands, but if you look at Exodus 20:1-17, the Ten Commandments that we see here are listed in these ten verses: 3, 4, 7, 8, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17.

If your friend is seeing Fifteen Commandments, maybe he can share the verses, as I have done. You may find that he either includes other verses or adds some that are not listed there. In any case, he will have to give you his references to show the extra five.

Dear "Mary Anne Kennedy", in peace, if you want an answer, those who want to answer you must have: What hymn is your question. Example Psalms 22:3 Chapter is necessary.

God bless u in Jesus name i love u in Christ Luke 24:39
  • Chris - In Reply on Exodus 35 - 2 years ago
Hello Breeni. If you're wanting to see them in the Bible, then in Exodus 20:1-17, you will the full list. Otherwise, the actual hand-written tablets of stone written by the Finger of God ( Exodus 31:18), was last seen placed in the Ark of the Covenant, located in the Tabernacle or Temple ( Deuteronomy 10:1-5).

Thank you brother for sharing those matters of concern & certainly for prayer. You have indeed engaged much with spiritual forces, probably much more than most others, but victory is always yours through that Name which is above every name & by His Blood shed for you. Evil spirits cannot stand the sight & sound of that Glorious Name & you have a strong testimony in that regard. I will certainly keep you before the Throne of Grace & Healing, as also for your sister & family concerns. Stay strong brother, looking only unto Jesus the Author & Finisher of your faith.

Hi Doug. Great Scriptures to show that Christ has come in the flesh - He is indeed the Son of God & the Son of Man. And as a Man, He was made "like unto his brethren" & as a Man "was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin". I would certainly never argue the humanity of Christ.

But interesting that you quoted 1 John 4:3, "And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world." This is the wonderful Truth from John, about the spirits that influence men what to believe & proclaim (as the false prophets of verse 1 did). That spirit that does not confess that Christ has come in the flesh is the spirit of Satan (antichrist).

Some have glossed over these verses, but in the past, I felt compelled to consider, 'surely a spirit that does not confess Christ coming in the flesh, must be a different spirit that believes that Jesus was a real Person?' The spirits themselves believe Jesus was real, the Jews & Romans believed, even the Gnostics (about whom John was warning the believers), believed - there was no denial that there was a Man going around by the Name of Jesus & saying & doing all that He did. But these same Gnostics & others I've mentioned will never confess one thing. And that is, that Jesus came out from God to become a man. Because gnostics believe that Divinity cannot unite with the material, especially sinful flesh, therefore the incarnation is an impossibility. And so John issued the warning to try (test) the spirits (that by which these men spoke); that there is a spirit that denies that Jesus came down from Heaven into a body of flesh. John 3:13; John 17:5.
  • REAL TIME AND THE BOOK OF REVELATION__Streetpreacher - In Reply on Revelation 18 - 2 years ago
The Book of Revelation concerns the LAST YEARS ON EARTH.

We are given some SIGNS to be looking for, in Matthew chapter 24, and Luke 21.

Another sign we are able to search is current news through the internet. The Palestinians in the Middle East (I mean specifically NON-Jews). They are looking for a man they call Mahdi. Some say Muhammad Mahdi). Most likely he will become The Antichrist. He may be in the United Nations. He will be Palestinian by blood line. So whoever he is, his father is also Palestinian.

DONT be involved too much. But it's proof. Let GOD reveal the mystery.

There are people right now who are making movies of THE END TIMES. For those who have not yet studied all the prophesies; who are media oriented: I think the easiest way to orientate someone on what is to soon come upon us in Reality; in daily life,

Is to watch some End Time videos (year 2021 and forward). If you are into stock markets and like subjects; this will help you. Globalism is our Enemy. The Green Deal is a Religion. The Thought Leaders are in on it. Elon Musk is not a Christian, or a "savior". Just beware.

    Watch these videos on YouTube:

    1. BLESSON Tribulation (Genesis to heaven in 63 minutes

    2. REVELATION STATION. It used to be a gigantic video but it's several videos in one. After on ends a disclaimer box may appear, but the next video will start auto playing.

    Each segment is focused on:

THE OPENING OF THE 7 SEALS

    THE 7 TRUMPETS

    THE RAPTURE

    The 7 BOWL JUDGMENTS

    ARMAGEDDON

    THE MILLENNIAL KINGDOM

there's a separate video called: revelation station MAMMON (worship of money, deceit, sex, drugs/sorcery)

This should awaken you to WHY things are happening. Like world wide drought. Water sources drying up. Food is becoming limited because of crop and meat animal deaths. No fertilizer. We may become like Africa which is experiencing mass deaths of people, meat animals, no fresh water. Christians are being killed for their faith.

I need a operation on my spine. It has 2 bulges on each side which compresses both sciatic nerves. I had a skin infection on my back and the surgeon said my skin had to be cured. (I've refused pain meds; I use excedrin)

Actually I saw a home made cure online. I cooked it up :D it's working good so far! Praise the Lord!!!

I've had problems with my neck from 30 yrs ago (my aunts boyfriend) from a spiritual attack by a wicked human that called upon a demon to enter him. The demon was invisible. It was about to snap my neck, when something else (an angel) yanked it off me and then I heard body blows outside the open window in the yard! My mom didn't have A/C in my room.

I reached up to push away the hands on me and I saw nothing. I was fighting full bore, screaming the BLOOD OF JESUS!

I'm not having pain, but I hear "noises" from the vertebrae when I turn my head.

I'm just going to pray Jesus does my surgery and the surgeon assists.

Months after that attack I came in from church (happiness high). Sat down and saw a 9 ft "thing" in my open closet. It was mud, nasty, oozing. It was seething with hate and evil. I prayed the BLOOD OF JESUS: I'm a blood bought child of the Most HigH GOD. In Jesus Name Leave! Go into outer darkness. GET OUT NOW!

I'm thinking, Lord, why does this keep happening? I believe God wants us to be exercised in the Authority of Jesus's Name. We're called to heal the sick, raise the spiritually dead, cleanse lepers (the sick) and pray for people to be healed.

Pray for their Salvation! Get them into Gods family. People have to entrust their body, and SOUL into Gods care. Our days of life are recorded in a book. We pray for us, and others knowing we may embark on the greatest adventure of all. I'm not afraid of death. Jesus is my Reward_my Life.

Counsel them. Their salvation must be recorded in the BOOK OF LIFE. It's the most loving thing we can do.

"Fear has torments." Their faith will touch Gods Mercy & Grace.

Dear Q & T. Your whole comment seems to be based on Exodus 3:14, "And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you." Until a clear understanding of "I AM THAT I AM" is had, your other developments of this "I AM", remains only a personal belief & opinion.

So what you suggest: "I am the king(dom) in you; I am the being of everybody; I am Abraham, etc, etc.", are simply the use of 'I AM" in other contexts, but avoids the meaning of "I AM" that God spoke about Himself & His Name. If God's Name (I AM) is applied to all & sundry, then we are all gods or equal standing with the Almighty. And I would certainly withstand such a heresy. If the "I AM" that God spoke is different to what you're suggesting, then the comments you made about it's wider application are irrelevant.

And just back to Romans 8:29: man was not "predestinated to become the image of Christ". Adam was made in the Image of God - he fell & that Image was marred by sin. Till the coming of Jesus, His Sacrifice & the reception of the Holy Spirit, no one has ever received the Image of Christ. Only those whom God foreknew who would come to the Cross in faith, did God plan for Christ's Image to be conformed to them (Gk. summorphos: to display a similar behavior from having the same essential nature). The world never receives this, nor will they ever receive that Image if they have not the Holy Spirit.

So, your use of "I AM" in those various ways you suggested and your understanding of Romans 8:29, I would disagree with. To suggest that God is/will be in everyone & all will be conformed to Christ's Image, is not my understanding of the Bible.

    Hello, Selasi,

I think that Chris spoke well in referring to the passage in Ephesians concerning being spiritually dead.

I wish to add, without God's saving grace and mercy, every single person that every lived was a sinner and enslaved to sin, deserving God's righteous judgement of eternal punishment without God. This is hell.

Every single person who every lived was spiritually dead due to the sinful nature that is inherent in all of us because of the sin of Adam which allowed this nature to become a part of human nature from then on. Being spiritually dead means that we cannot every rectify or reform ourselves to please God. We cannot every erase the sins we have committed or get rid of the sinful nature in this life. Being spiritually dead, we cannot respond to God correctly. We cannot choose to be saved. We cannot resist following the temptations and promptings of the evil one and the inward sinful thoughts and outward deeds of our own devising.

Most people, though dead in sin, can make choices to do "good" to others. But they can never please God nor turn back His rightful judgment on our sin by any good that we may do. In order to be saved, we must be made spiritually alive (reborn or regenerated). This is done only by the Holy Spirit who used the testimony of the Gospel and the witness from believers to effect this being made alive to God. This is why we share the Gospel with others. It is the power of God unto salvation, as the Spirit uses it to quicken us spiritually from being dead to God. This is all of grace, all a gift, all a working of God's mercy, all a fulfilling of His eternal will for each of us who come to faith in Christ. But God acts first, we respond in faith because the Spirit has made us spiritually alive and able to believe. He even gives us the faith to believe.

Are there really 10 Commandments in the Bible? (I've been asked to prove this.) The rules are: I have to use an "unadulterated," KING JAMES VERSION. I have to find exactly 10.

This friend says that there are 15 (in Deuteronomy), but "10" do not exist anywhere.

Hebrews 2:7 Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. 1 John 4:3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. Hebrews 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
  • Doug - In Reply - 2 years ago
That is something to look forward to because the Bible says it will happen. We haven't received our new name yet though. We can be called the sons of God as Jesus was the Son of God. Jesus is our Brother and God is our Father. Jesus had to pray like us to be delivered from the oppressor. He even fasted 40 days to resist the devil. Hebrews 5:7-10 Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared; Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him; Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec.

Does the Bible say :"Lamb of God" or "God the Lamb", "Son of God" or "God the Son". It seems to me changing the order of the wording changes the meaning. I couldn't agree more with the statement without Jesus atoning sacrifice we would have not a hope of salvation. I haven't received a response from anyone if they felt Jesus could have sinned. Me know he didn't but could have he.

    Bert,

Something else to consider is that most believers when asked how many letters Paul wrote, the answer they give is 13, Romans through Philemon. It is safe to say Paul wrote those 13 letters because at the very beginning of each letter, Paul puts his inscription in the first verse. We don't see that in Hebrews so it would seem odd that Paul would put his inscription on all his letters but one.

Basically; the final destruction of Babylon didn't occur. Revelation 17 seems to talk of the spiritual Babylon; something the Beast has to destroy to gain complete worship for Himself (i.e. Satan). Revelation 18 discusses the economic Babylon and a "great city" being destroyed. Some have guessed this is New York City; others suggest that it is in the same geographical locale as ancient Babylon. The ecumenical center of the 3 monotheistic faiths in Dubai along with a city 30 times larger than New York City which is planned to be ultramodern; with a drone based transportation system makes this seem more feasible.

At any event; this will make way for the Mark of the Beast; and either worship of Satan or of God. There will be no more false religious system; or any comfort in materialism. We must remember that it is worshipping the image of the Beast with food being a sidenote that drives people to taking the mark. Death will be for all those not taking it; although a few will survive until the end and into the Millennium period in hiding.

Thankfully; 2 Thess. 2 seems to indicate that the church will be out of here before that. Also we have the verse about the gates of hell not prevailing against the church today ( Matt. 16:18). However; the saints will be overcome according to Daniel in the time of Jacob's trouble ( Rev. 13:7; Daniel 7:21; Jeremiah 30:7).

These prophecies must surely occur; although it is held back to some extent now. Once the lawless one is revealed; things will be exponentially worse than ever before and than it ever will be ( 2 Thess. 2:8; Matt.24:21).

May you be richly blessed as you study His word; particularly Revelation as we are promised that reading that book ( Rev. 1:3).

    Bert,

Several people have been named as possible authors:

Paul is the most common one.

Some Bibles say that this is the book of Hebrews written by Paul. The title "To the Hebrews" was not put on it until the 2nd century.

But there was no inscription about Paul until about the third century when the Council of Carthage added it to the book and claimed that Paul had written the letter. So there was no claim on the letter itself that it was written by Paul until the 3rd century.

There are some difficulties with the theory of Paul. And by the way, many scholars now do not hold that view because of all the difficulties.

For example, the letter was written by a second generation Christian because of what he stated in Hebrews 2:3. And here's what it says. Hebrews 2:3 says, how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard Him.

So whoever wrote Hebrews did not hear the Lord directly, nor did he receive from the Lord directly, but received and was confirmed and established for us, he being one of them, by those that heard Him.

So this is just one of the problems of putting Paul as the author.

Paul himself, as stated in Galatians 1:11-12 said, but I certify to you brethren that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man, for I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.

So Paul is not a second generation Christian. And whoever wrote Hebrews is a second generation Christian.

One of the other theories was that it was Barnabas, because the letter appears to have been written by a Levite and according to Acts 4:36, Barnabas was a Levite.

Barnabas means "Son of Encouragement." The writer states in Hebrews 13:22 that he encourages them to endure the word of encouragement.

Some say Luke wrote it. Right now, Apollos is the most popular theory. Bottom line is we don't know!

Thanks for clarifying. I was unsure of whether you were speaking a prayer for Troy or for yourself. Now I know.

I will continue to pray for Troy and for your sister, Wendy. I live in WA state, by the way.

Also, while we are praying for Troy and Wendy, please add Jeff to your prayers for healing from bone cancer. He is my hubby's friend since Jr. High. Jeff recovered from lung cancer in the past year or so but now cancer has recurred in his bones and the doctor has said that there is really no cure for him this time. So, he is to get his affairs in order. he is unsaved. Please pray for Jeff to ask my hubby, Steve, about the faith he has in Jesus and pray that they will spend more time together over the coming months. They have neglected their friendship. Thank you
