I love The Person Of Holy Spirit. I loved Jesus from young teen but always felt I was lacking something! In 1980 at the age of 40 I was filled with Holy Spirit and spoke in tongues while unloading my dishwasher! I am nearing 82 now! I'm reading the gospel of John at the moment , Ch 14 , it is packed full of important information and is worthy of some serious and patient study I think . I've read it four times today and each time I read it another piece falls into place . Going to go and read it again now .

What does "ThyRod and Thy Staff" refer to in Psalms Chapter Twenty Three Verse four refer to specifically?

Don i think that the covenant Ruth made with Naomi made her a Jew or 1 of Naomi's ppl....God was for sure in this covenant.

The book of Ruth is a wonderful book. It is the story of the Kinsman redeemer. Christ is our Kinsman redeemer! The book of Ruth models Christ redeeming us.

We lear about the Kinsman redeemer here in Leviticus 25:25-28 "If thy brother be waxen poor, and hath sold away some of his possession, and if any of his kin come to redeem it, then shall he redeem that which his brother sold.

And if the man have none to redeem it, and himself be able to redeem it;

Then let him count the years of the sale thereof, and restore the overplus unto the man to whom he sold it; that he may return unto his possession.

But if he be not able to restore it to him, then that which is sold shall remain in the hand of him that hath bought it until the year of jubile: and in the jubile it shall go out, and he shall return unto his possession."

Jesus Christ would redeem all who trust in his name from the slavery of sin and death. He had to be able and willing.

Read Revelation 5:2-10.

"And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof?.....

Verse 9. "And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;"

Another interesting study is the Jubilee and Pentecost.

And aso in chapter 2:2, it says the king commanded the king commanded to call the magicians, and the astrologers, and the sorcerers, and the Chaldeans, for to shew the king his dreams. Yes we are tempted or better yet enticed by Satan. He dont have to work overtime to do that, In the flesh we desire what he has to offer.

Satan mission is to deceive,

He put tares amongst us to hinder Christ work in us.

Concerning Christ the word tempted is used differently.

Matthew 4:1. Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be TEMPTED of the devil.

Look who's in arranging this. "Then was Jesus led up of THE SPIRIT into the wilderness.

The word tempted here is tested or better yet proven.

Jesus was led by the Spirit to be proven. Look at verse Matthew 4:3.

"And when the tempter came to him, he said, (IF) thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread."

Here's what I recently learned from one of our dear brothers from this site. The word iF in this verse should be read "SINCE" It actually reads ( SINCE thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread." ) The Devil knew exactly who he was!

Notice here what Satan is offering.

Is this a prophecy for older times and so not much applicable to today? How do I discern from what is past and upcoming future events? God Bless your efforts, just trying to follow his word not believing every spirit that comes before me.

Was Ruth's marriage to Boas legal? Moses commanded that no Moabite was ever to come into the assembly of Israel. Therefore, the lineage to David and Jesus highlights disobedience to Mosiac law. Or, did Ruth's vows to Naomi and Boas mean she became an adopted Jew. Of, course, God works in mysterious ways (Rahab, for example) so his son, Jesus, could do these work of redemption for all?

Please Lord open the doors opportunity for employment that will not only support her family but with abundance. Please Holy Spirit guide her in the process with her attitude, words and action I pray in the name of Jesus Christ!

Just wondering why you can't do both. Pastor the small church in Kentucky and teach classes online. I know of two pastors that have full time jobs. One is a Christian college professor and the other a US post office employee. It's possible to do both.
