Acts 5 Comment...
"Would like to add that the actions of the two in this scripture was about being deceptive by conspiring. Conspiring is when people secretly make joint plans to do something different than what is expected. In this case they conspired against the Holy Spirit which is in the church. I can only wonder the various things that could have motivated or prompted them to conspire, plot and scheme against "the Lord and His anointed." This is a good example of what a believer shouldn't do, however if a believer by chance discovers that they are in error, then God is available to forgive only for the asking or grant mercy according to His will." ""And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles' feet." Acts 5:2 KJV
A believer should not allow anyone even their own spouse to cause them to miss out or sin against God, as the scripture reads further both received the same judgment, although they conspired together, the husband was judged then the wife was asked whether their dealings with the Apostles were true and being judged separately received the same judgment as her husband. Each one had an opportunity to be honest and they valued their relationship above their love for God. The same God who created them both and allowed them to have a spousal relationship in the first place (not that only God provided for them to have the field in their possession). They put their trust in their relationship, by obeying each other and not obeying God. A believer should God obey first in all things, whether married or unmarried and this scripture is an example of that and how careful a believer has to be in their human interactions with others. Not just husband and wife, which is the highest human form of a human relationship, all human relationships, whether Mother/Father, Siblings, neighbors, employers, friends, family relations, any human relationship that a believer has, God should always be honored and obeyed first. A believer shouldn't choose a path or make a decision that is contrary to God's way.
If only they had the courage to say they did not want to participate or only wanted to contribute a certain amount. I see a lot in the bible about the human condition of failure to communicate. In this case, failure to communicate perhaps could have been based on pride ("the pride of life'). Perhaps, they sincerely wanted to give, however, both seemingly wanted to control the situation by privately agreeing to do something separately from what was agreed upon. We also notice in the scripture that nothing is private, God knows all things." View & Reply

"This question was in an earlier discussion,
"Does the bible support a women Pastor or Bishop. I know already that the bible supports women in ministering the word, just to clarify."
Based on the qualifications of a Bishop, I do not believe the bible supports a woman Bishop based on qualifications ("This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work." 1 Timothy 3:1 KJV), however a Pastor may not necessarily be a Bishop and therefore a woman can be a Pastor or called to be a Pastor, I believe. In this scripture when the bible states a man desiring the office, I believe it is for a male to be a Bishop and not a female, since the qualifications entail having a wife and a man exhibiting leadership over his family and household.
A women and wife can be two different categories, although a wife is a woman, a unmarried woman is not a wife and is not subject to any man, only to God. The bible indicates if a married woman wants to do anything that she should ask her husband, husbands and wives should be on one accord in righteouness." View & Reply

"Hi Tdianne.
I would like to share my thoughts on archeology findings used to date some of ancient beings and dinosaurs ect.ect.
In the middle east just a few years ago, (maybe 3 or 4) there was an archeology finding of what was supposedly bones and a skull of a caveman over a million years old. The Archeologists made this assumption due to the settlement and depth of the earth during the excavation.
Then there was a problem!
They also found a coin with the imprint of a Pharoah in the same settlement that dated around 7000 years.
The unique imprint of this Pharaoh gives the identity of the Pharaoh and Archeologists are able to research the time he reign.
I find that interesting.
God bless you." View & Reply

""Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience." James 1:3 KJV
God being all knowing. How long will the test or trying of faith last? When will the trying of your faith end? When will tests and trials end. It will last as long as God allows it to last. Why so long? Because God knows how much a believer an bear (even though the believer, themselves may not realize how much they can actually bear). The trying of our faith comes from God. He (God) created the test therefore He knows how long it should last. God created and administers all tests according to each ones ability. The testing of our faith comes from God. If the test lasts longer than we think it should then the believer needs to exam and question themselves as to why God saw fit to give a test that does not seem to end. A believer should be glad if God allows some relief or happy times during the trying of their faith and if the trying of faith lasts a long time or seems like it will never end then know that God is working things out for the good of the believer (you want to go to heaven right?). If a believer wants to see God's face in peace, a believer (with God's help) must endure to the end, wavering or wanting nothing (in other words you want to live a right according to the word of God), "be steadfast" "be unmovable" "continue in the faith" "be Christ minded" "focus on the things of God" God knows where a believer (or sinner is) at all times "he never sleeps nor slumbers" "the only wise God." It's not so much that the test is so trying it's that sinful flesh is so corrupt...and it will take the trying or testing of a believers faith to ensure a believer qualifies to exist in the presence of God, here on earth and then in eternity. "be still and know that He is God"" View & Reply

"You're welcome,Andre4risca,I enjoyed a lot your post.I thank you very much for your kind and wise reply.I confess that I was very surprised and amazed by your response.
Yes,among theologians, and believers, followers of them, there is a conception the Planet Earth is around 6,000 years old, what is a false conception.
In the other hand, the scientific conception about the age of the Earth also is empiric,I would say the empiric conception of science on Earth's age is also false and a nonsense.
That said, what matters and prevails is the Truth.Once the two conceptions above described are wrong, both are good for nothing,I will not be brought under the power of any,I will not allow myself to be carried away by either, but where I will find the Truth? This reminds me of Pilate. What is Truth? For me what matters is the Truth, exclusively.
What I know is that JESUS' own testimony about Himself is wonderful, and reveals to us in depth the mystery of His existence in the greatness of the Universe created by GOD,the Word,GOD Father, full of heavenly bodies, and here on Earth, specifically,He populated the planet with living beings, and sat in the CIRCLE of the Earth,as is written in Isaiah 40:21-22:
21Have ye not known?have ye not heard?hath it not been told you from the beginning?have ye not understood from the foundations of the earth?
22It is GOD that sits upon the CIRCLE of the Earth,and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers;
I remember what JESUS said from His own existence:John 17:4-5,as follow:
4I have glorified thee-Father-on the earth:I have finished the work which thou gave me to do.(John 1:3 & 5:17,and Hebrews 1:1-2 testify about this that JESUS said.Take a look)
5And now,O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the WORLD was. John the Baptist, the angel of the LORD,testified about this, saying:John 1:18- No man hath seen GOD at any time, the only begotten Son,which is in the bosom of the Father,He has declared Him." "Dear Oseas,
Thank you for your thoughtful comment. It's clear that this is a topic you've given a lot of consideration to.
You're absolutely right that scientific evidence and religious texts often provide different perspectives on questions about our world and its origins. These two sources of knowledge have different methodologies and purposes, which can lead to different conclusions.
Scientific evidence is based on empirical observations and experiments. Scientists observe the natural world, form hypotheses, conduct experiments, and then interpret the results. This process is iterative and self-correcting, with each new piece of evidence potentially refining or even overturning previous understandings. The age of the Earth, for example, is estimated at 4.54 billion years based on a variety of scientific methods, including radiometric dating of rocks and minerals.
Religious texts, on the other hand, are often based on revelations, spiritual experiences, and the wisdom of religious leaders and communities. They provide guidance on moral and ethical issues, give meaning to life, and help individuals and communities navigate their spiritual journeys. Some interpretations of the Bible, for instance, suggest a much younger Earth, around 6,000 years old.
It's important to note that these two sources of knowledge are not necessarily in conflict. Many people find ways to reconcile their religious beliefs with scientific understanding. Others see them as addressing different kinds of questions - science answering "how" questions about the workings of the natural world, and religion addressing "why" questions about purpose and meaning.
Thank you again for sharing your perspective. It's through open and respectful dialogue that we can all learn and grow" View & Reply
