Spencer, again, Paul baptized these believers in water and then laid hands on them to receive the Holy Spirit. I know we disagree on this, but it plainly speaks of two happenings here, baptizing them and then laying on of hands.

May the hurting be comforted, the sick healed, the lonely, given companionship, the poor be provided for, the doubting given faith to overcome unbelief, the rebellious convicted of their sin and granted repentance, the addicted be delivered, the abandoned be grafted into a family, the depressed given hope and gladness of heart, the lost hear the gospel, and the church shine Christ forth into the darkness of our world.

    Matthew 28 v 18 , 19 , 20

In verse 18 Jesus says all power is GIVEN unto me in heaven and earth .

Who is the superior one that gave him this power ? Must be his father God .

Verse 20 I am with you always , even unto the end of the world

He is speaking to his disciples , that would be the church .

How does one see a rapture pretrib in this statement ? It's not there .

    Hi Jocelynne,

Some have given you some good answers here. From an astronomical perspective, what we consider as "sky" is our atmosphere that is the air between the surface of the earth and the outermost layer of our atmosphere (exosphere). Beyond the exosphere is outer space, called the "heavens" as as far as where the sun, moon, and stars are located. As far as the "heaven" as the abode of angels, this may be a purely spiritual dimension within space, or it may be an actual physical dimension somewhere in the universe. We really don't know the answer on that, as far as I know.

I have a question...is anyone here on this King James Version on line site...Go to a "In Jesus Name" Church..been "Baptized in Jesus Name" (not the Father The Son and the Holy Ghost) ..been filled with the "Holy Ghost" ..baptized in "Water & Spirit" so to speak ..AND speaks in Tongues ...evidence of Holy Ghost is speaking in Tongues ( a language between you and God) ,,dose anyone here have that Belief ??

That we are to be "Born again" by the water and the Spirit ??

I'm not trying to start no trouble here , for I love this site very much..and everyone I talked to on YouTube..no one ever said "Yes me" ..they all put me down or didn't believe these things..even though they said they believe in the Holy Ghost..

Just wondering what y'all think about this ..it is hard to find someone like this except at my Church...Pentecostal Apostolic....we can't be that rare ...anyone here Believe "Jesus IS God" ?? ..that there is "One" God and "One" door to heaven ? Through Christ Jesus ...

Not trying to start no trouble here..Okay.

    S. Spencer You made a great statement concerning Gods Word its not just believing God but also what we

believe about God can determine our walk and behaviour spiritually. It's like what and where you have fear

you cannot have spiritual faith and where you have spiritual faith in your walk you will not have fear.

First words out of Adams mouth after downfall he heard Gods voice in the garden and he was

afraid, first words that angels gave to shepherds in the fields fear not for unto this day is born a saviour.

  • WHY BONES were left behind in the Earth - In Reply on Genesis 1 - 4 years ago
    Romans 1

19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. [we see remains of things in the earth & know only God was here to do that]

20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, (we see the fossil remains) being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

Scientists find the remains in the earth. One reason why; a mass extinction event? All of the dead material became oil; coal.

The bones were to show us THAT SOMEONE MADE ALL WE SEE AND KNOWand have eagerly dug up and built museums around it.

To this day, we are still searching for things God hid in the earth and oceans; space.

It all points to an intelligent Creator! What do we do? We go in search of hidden alien life forms.

Maybe they hid it under Antarctica? There was a recent story that scientists discovered tunnels under Antarctica. Whoopee! Maybe they used explosives on exploration__and now Antarctica is falling apart, and due to increase ocean levels and flood beaches. Once again, how do we save the earth?

Now we need the Creator to save us from huge errors of judgment. I hope they get saved and meet THE CREATOR: The Godhead.

Did you know that CONIES in the Bible are small creatures that survived the Asteroid that destroyed the dinosaurs? They burrowed under earths surface and we're able to find seeds to eat and stuff to stay alive on; till everything cooled. It's in the Bible; and scientists have confirmed it.

We were meant to find remains! If we can't see the evidence of a CREATOR, we're doomed to become extinct.

2 Peter 3. God is going to fully restore earth to the Garden of Eden. Get on board for that DAY.

Rick I do believe we are saved from the wrath by our faith in the blood of Jesus for our sins. But not tribulation as all the apostles suffered for Christ and God refines us in the fire of many temptations we need prayer to work out our own salvation prayer with others for others and for ourself. In fear and trembling. If this is not tribulation ,and grooming for the mark of the beast to come what do you see it as? In my lifetime 63 years I have never seen anything that has ever resembled this world today! And the closeness of our Lord and saviour coming back soon!

    S. Spencer Also brother in acts 2:38 it says repent and be baptized and receive the holy Ghost but again I don't

water mentioned anywhere and the word baptizes there means pouring out or pouring into or consecrate which

means to set apart which we are by the spirit. Just sharing the word.

    Grace.

    Part 2 of 2.

    THE COMMAND.

For starters there is more to the words command in the Greek that I am not adequate to explain.

    What is actually being commanded?

What are Jesus commands spoken of in Matthew 28:20.?

Are these commands to be water baptized? let's take a look.

    Matthew 28:19-20.

    19) Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

    20) Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

For starters the command is to observe all things whatsoever I HAVE COMMANDED YOU. Who's being commanded?

Who's the you? The command went to the disciples. It wasn't a command to the recipient of the message.

Where is the command to the recipient to be baptized with water?

If baptism by water was an act of obedience to a command, where is it?

I do see where the lord commanded the disciples to love one another as he has loved them.

    John 13:34-35.

    34) A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

    35) By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

It does seem like verse 35 would be useful in their commission.

    God bless.

Hi Godwin. In this passage (Ezekiel chapter 21), the prophet Ezekiel is announcing a grave warning to Judah (vv 20,25) about their future. The repetition of the word "overturn", or as in Hebrew, 'to overthrow/bring to ruin', is a warning & denunciation of Judah's kings, especially the last one (Zedekiah), that that kingly line will come to an end (v 26) because of their many transgressions (vv 24,25). So repeating the word 'overthrow' emphatically brings home the message, 'what the LORD says & commands, will occur & Judah (& Israel) should be warned'.

Verse 27: so the prophecy is that the line of the kings of Judah will end, "until he come whose right it is; and I will give it him." There was no king after Zedekiah, & even though history records that after their captivity in Babylon, some priests of the Asmonean race (not of Judah) assumed the title of kings, they, nor anyone else would have right to rule Judah until the One Whom the LORD appoints comes & sits on the Throne of David ( Zechariah 6:12,13; Luke 1:32,33; Daniel 7:13,14). The nation of Israel has been without a king, since they have rejected the Messiah of God, but the day will come when God will restore all things ( Ezekiel 20:40-44) and Israel will acknowledge Jesus: "For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord." ( Matthew 23:39).

Saved, I think the first 5 verses should answer your question. Genesis Chapter 1

1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

There was no light, only darkness. God created everything. Hope this helps.

Larry, it's a question about chronology. If you page forward to Genesis Chapter 2:4These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens,

This means the rest of the chapter 2 is referring to what God performed the first 6 days in Chapter 1.

It dispels the notion that man was created before Adam and Eve. It's a continuum not a different creation, in other words it give a broader explanation of what he did in Chapter 1. Hope this helps.

    Thanks Mishael,

We should not be discouraging people from being water baptized. Rather, encouraging them, as Peter did in his sermon to the thousands outside after the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. 3000 new believers were baptized in water that day!

But, I agree, it is a personal decision and once we encourage someone to be baptized, we can trust the Holy Spirit to lead that person according to the timeframe the Spirit desires.

As, I said to Spencer, my computer screen is going out. If it stops altogether, I will be off line for a while. Until then, as long as I am able, I can continue to read and post. God knows my needs and I will be well supplied without my laptop. I am thankful.

    Amen Grace.

    Part 1.

I would like to continue this subject a little further because it is all important because of it is a salvation issue at hand.

There is one baptism: Meaning there is only one way we are identified with Christ and put into the body of believers.

"Baptized" shows up in several places in the New Testament, John gives us perhaps the first view of baptism, (baptism of repentance) and he gives the baptism of Christ authority. "Baptism of the Holyspirit"

I think when people see the word baptize, they're thinking it is speaking of water baptism and that is not always the case!

    EXAMPLES:

    Acts 19:2-5.

    2) He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

    3) And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism.

    4) Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

    5) When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

    NOTICE VERSES 4 AND 5!

Now we know by way of verse 4 they were baptized with water, "John's baptism"

Verse 5 seems to be another baptism! Was it water? I don't think so, Paul said he baptized no one but Crispus and Gaius and Stephanas household.

Now look at verse 2 and we discover what is expected to initiate the Holy Ghost. "Believe!

The HG didn't come on them until verse 6.

    6) And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues and prophesied.

    Now put it into perspective.

Mark 16:16. He that "believeth" and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

What initiates their salvation? Belief! and this is baptism of the Holy spirit spoken here triggered by belief not water.

The same applies here and several other places.

    Mathew 28:19.

    Part 2

    What is actually commanded.

This verse makes sense when read in context. Hope this helps.

Larry The why of replenish what I have gathered biblically there was a war in heaven when lucifer was thrown

out with his so-called comrades and one of his titles biblically is destroyer. When he was thrown out put into

darkness spiritually and ruin that which God set up originally. The only thing we have left from that time are

fossil remains and man does not really know all that occurred. Notice in Genesis God only created 3 times

the word created biblically is to bring something into existence which has never existed before and only God can create.

Genesis 1:1 1:21 and 1:27 because everything else was already there he had to set it in order notice God said

let there be light let there be a firmament let the earth bring forth grass let there be lights in the firmament

then God saw God set, so He was reorganizing that which His arch Enemy threw into confusion and turmoil. Was there something there before yes what kind of life was it who knows, but so far this is the only explanation I've

heard and studied that made sense. The word replenish is to fill be full or make full, this is also where the

evolution boys have heyday but they have too many gaps they cannot fill. Any other comments enjoy.

  • Bro. Steve - In Reply on Genesis 1 - 4 years ago
    Larry, I liked your comment.

Yes the passage in Gen.1:28 is most interesting to me as well. However, one of the dictionary meanings is a little more succinct I think when it reads, "to fill with persons OR animals". I believe, without a doubt, that animals (prehistoric) roamed the earth before man was created, since we have their fossils and bones to tell us so. I believe that when God gave Adam the animal kingdom to manage, that such is what we know it to be today. Isn't is possible that God's pleasure was to NOT create mankind midst a world of giant preditor-animals that would have had dominion over man?..and perhaps bring God more pleasure to give man the challenge to have dominion over animals that he could manage or contend with? This passage above seems to support the probability of pre-mankind animals (remains and fossils found in every continent of the earth). This would explain why man was mandated to multiply and replenish the earth, v.26-28.

  • Ronald Whittemore - In Reply on Genesis 1 - 4 years ago
    Hey Larry,

The word replenish; some use this translation to support the gap theory, also known as the Ruin-Reconstruction theory, which involves the necessity for God to recreate and re-fill the earth after a pre-Adamic race had perished as a result of an event called Lucifer's flood. Replenish is an Old English word that was used to mean fill, from the thirteenth to the seventeenth centuries. The view of fill repeatedly, thus fills completely, to make full, like a bucket of water.

Not saying there were not people before Adam and Eve, but God only created this world and universe once before He makes a new heaven and a new earth in the future.

    God bless,

    RLW

Isn't it something, Peggy, how that homosexuality has populated into something celebrated and even 'honored by gov't legislature' from a silent, in-closet, ashamed-of behavior? This indicates that not only the popular view has changed, but also that the behavior is becoming a common, lesser ashamed-of behavior which aligns with Paul's statement here in verses 24--26. The sin that Paul is referring to, he explains conspicuously and irrefutably in THREE parts: 1) dishonor of their bodies between themselves, 2) worship of the CREATURE rather than the CREATOR, 3) Changing of the NATURAL USE into that which is against nature. We do not know why many of the prophets and writers of scripture did not mention this sin...although a few did mention it, like Paul and Moses... One might conclude that perhaps it was "a given" since even the Gentiles, as Paul said in ch.2 v.14 and 15..."those without the law who knew by nature the things contained in the law...and that these having NOT the law are a law unto themselves"...and (finally), "which shews the work of the law written in their hearts, etc." I believe we not only know in our hearts if our sin is against nature, but when we defy this understanding and 'do it anyway', there must be consequence. It is summarized in v.32. Shame on us when we know what is wrong and do it anyway!

Psalm 91 is a Psalm of protection from all dangers seen and unseen; physical and spiritual.

The first verse suggests that you must live in a manner that pleases God.

The protection does not mean that there will not be any trials and tribulations, but rather it means that ultimately the faithful will be safe and delivered.
  • Rick Mentzer - In Reply on Genesis 8 - 4 years ago
Jocelynne It is interesting that heaven means raised up or heaved up things then you have Christ who

now is seated in the heavenlies, and so are believers spiritually in Gods eyes. Na man will ever know where

the expanse or heaven or heavenlies end.
