Rick, How is obeying Jesus' command a "work of the law"? Is obeying Jesus by Loving Him above all else a "work of the law" since it is in the 10 commandments? Is not having graven idols to worship a "work of the law"? Is not taking the Lord's name in vain a "work of the "? Is honoring your parents a "work of the law"? Is refraining from stealing a "work of the law? Or obeying any of the other of the 10 commandments? Are we to disobey these commands since we are under grace? Paul unequivocally said "no" in Romans 6:1

By espousing that it is fine to disobey Jesus command to be baptized, then, logically, you are de facto saying that it is ok for us to murder, commit adultery, idolatry, lie, steal, covet, because we are under grace, (since all of these "laws" are Jesus' laws also if we believe that He pre-existed in the Godhead and therefore, is the Lawgiver).

I don't honestly think that any Christian would recommend people living a lifestyle in disobedience to the 10 commandments. All of these commands are contained in Jesus' phrase that all of the Law was summed up in the two commandments: to Love God and others, as are any commandments He gave in addition to the OT commands. To obey Jesus' command to be baptized is to obey the first command Jesus said as Loving God. It is an act of loving obedience. I don't see how anyone would say that not being water baptized is a loving act of obedience to Jesus.

Although I understand that people are free to believe how they wish. I just do not ever want to espouse or support any view that will lead others to disobey God.

The loving thing to do towards God and other believers is to follow Jesus' command and example, period.

Absolutely the heart is desperately wicked! That's what the word of God says NEVER QUESTION IT. To read into Gods revealed revelation something other than its simply understood message is a ploy of Satan and his number one strategy to deceive. Remember in the Garden of Eden the great deceiver,S strategy "Did God really say?" And man in his Sin has doubted Gods precious promises ever since.Placing ourselves in Gods rightful place on the throne of our lives. We in and of ourselves are responsible we sinned and we continue to do so. But God in that while we were yet Sinners sent Christ to die for us. Despite of our desperately sinful hearts despite the fact that while yet his enemies he JESUS LOVED YOU SO MUCH! That he sacrificed his life for yours. Redeeming you and me to his Father paying a price that only the Sinless life of Christ could pay for our rebellious hearts. Now by his Grace and mercy on this side of the Cross is still redeeming undeserving Sinners to himself! PRAISE HIS PRECIOUS NAME! JESUS IS LORD AMEN AMEN

Beware of anyone in this thread trying to minimize the importance of baptism or try to make it mean something other than what the Bible says. Motives are in question. Verses like this are very clear to understand: John 3:5

This site has a page about it with many verses: Link

    Hi Dgjot,

Even though it seems hard to believe, according to stats only 50% of the world uses the internet and only 65% have access to it. I live in the US and people assume everyone is connected here, but that's not the case even here. Many rural areas where you can't even get a cell signal either. Many who didn't grow up with it aren't interested in using it. There's even groups in the US that intentionally live without power and without TV. And this is much more so in other countries. Consider North Sentinel Island, where there are people living there who have zero contact with the outside world.

If you've heard of Ray Comfort he does lots of street evangelism in urban areas like Los Angeles and even there, a % of the people don't know who Jesus is. Sounds hard to believe, but you may have to see it for yourself.

So, with these considerations, I do not believe everyone knows who Jesus is. I would say even of those who have heard something about Him, I would estimate that most may have distorted or inaccurate info.

I have heard missionaries say that it is far easier to tell people about Jesus in other regions, like in Africa, in comparison to developed nations that have misinformation already planted. But that doesn't mean we should give up. I personally think showing you care is step one, and if they are interested in you a door might open where they are willing to hear your views. Also, people in need seem to be more open as well, such as homeless. They need God where as others who are more established often assume they don't. There is a lot of information online with memes and it seems like memes, video clips, music, books, and arts seem to be the most influential in my opinion. So, I think spreading the gospel is still a valid pursuit and may take different forms depending on the audience.

Baptism is simply but its hidden from the wise and prudent,But revealed unto BABES and SUCKLINGS WHICH are the H.G.

The ChildREN of PROMISE....When he was yet on the cross he was calling for Elijah to come and turn the hearts of the

Fathers to the Children....Which are his Children that are gonna be born in us via his seed the words of the new covenant.

Unless ya receive the Kingdom of God as a lil Child you will in no wise enter there in....The Kingdom does not come till

the woman gives birth to the Children which is a baby Christ in us. The Son of Man, The man child that is gonna rule all

nations. Which is the H.G....Jesus said when he the spirit of truth is come ( the manchild the H.G. ) he will reprove

the whole world of sin and righteousness and judgement ....k

Alex N. Peter was not saying that the blood isn't pure, look at his thinking hearing about John the Baptist

from Jesus Christ himself and raised in the Judean law my mind would be saying got to have water and

circumcision. In the book of Acts God Had to show Him a Vision to Go to the gentiles house for them to be

born again because the Judeans considered them basically pigs. So your dealing with a transition period in

understanding but not in Heart. I believe and see the same thing today people believe god in their hearts but

    need help in understanding.

Jesus knew that all of his disciples had been water baptised , but he warns them if i wash thee not you will

have no part with me....Just think of that he tells his own disciples if i wash thee not you will have NO part with me

And they had all been water baptised previously.....Which speaks volumes of a greater baptism of the H.G. the new

covenant is a blood covenant .The bood of the lamb is what initiates the new covenant not water....There has to be a birth

of Christ in US thats y he always refers to himself as the SON OF MAN....MANKIND HAS TO HAVE A BABY CHRIST

That great Promise was multiplication of his seed meaning he is gona be the father of the H.G. When he breathe

on them he was propagating very God in them thats y he says to whom the WORD CAME IT MADE THEM GODS....

Remember when God made that 2 nd Promise in Gen 22 : 15....God Almighty swore by him very self impling Gods

plural as the stars of heaven...Don'cha see that the baptism of Promise is the multiplication of very God. The H.G.

Grace ambassador There's a major difference between what your stating and asking God what to do specifically.

I understand that to be Born Again Romans 10:9+10, but what I shared was no compromise, if God tells me to

walk into a forest with someone to get them peaceful in their hearts and mind to receive then that's what I'll do.

Sort of like marching around a certain wall called Jericho and blowing trumpets to knock down a fortress. It

worked because God told Him what to do and he told the people and they obeyed something that made no sense!

Gods Ways are not ours someday we'll believe this stuff. Prayerfully this explains it.

    Daniel triana,

The name Cephas is from the Aramaic word kepha for rock or great boulder. The name Peter is from the Greek word petra, which also means rock. Peter is Aramaic Kepha for rock/stone. In Matthew 16:18 Jesus called Simon, Peter, and in John 1 and other New Testament books he is mentioned as Cephas. Simon's name in Hebrew meant listen or hearing, I would give the Greek meaning but that may start a debate. If you see Simon, Simon Peter, or Cephas it is the same man, one of the apostles of Jesus.

Hi Micheline Human conscience is habit patterns either taught or picked up good or bad from the world around

us. Now when we're born again we have a perfect spiritual man in us but our minds are still dealing with corrupt

habit patterns that get changed as we read the word and do by continual practice of change our habits lives to

line up with Gods Word. If I a mature Christian walking in the Love of God am told by God to go to a bar and dance

is there any harm no. If God tells you to do that to speak his word to some specifically does that mean if they

offer you to drink a lot do you partake. NO The reason being is your there to speak the truth in Love, which means

bringing them up to your level never the opposite. That's where self control in all things comes into play. We bring

them up to our level that's the love without condemning them because there already lost and blind. That's was one

of my personal spiritual mistakes at first for me if you don't believe God your screwed up. That's a given if they don't

know the true God and His Sons love. We teach in meekness and humility.

When I became a believer not thinking anything about it I went to a friends house and as the habit

pattern was fire up some dope pas around and get ripped, well when they passed it around I said I don't want or need it anymore. Thinking that would be the end of it wrong, instantly are you a narc, stupid, crazy, which I replied no I just

decided that its not best to to it any more according to God. The fun began Jesus Freak etc. then I said all of you have

known me for years and because I choose to stop doing some thing that we all know isn't really good for us I,m

crazy, that is insane. So I said if that's actually how your thinking have a nice life, never spoke to any of them again.

Most of them are dead, but that's on them I spoke the truth and never condemned them how can

you when you were doing the same thing

All the water in this world cannot remit our sins .Nothin but the blood can wash away our sins . the living word , Thats y he is saying you are made Clean by the WORD ( THE LIVING WORD ) That i have spoken unto you My WORDS ARE SPIRIT AND LIFE LIKE HIS BLOOD. And its no wonder simply b/c Jesus was the living word made flesh and blood....Unless ya eat my flesh and drink my blood you have no life in you....The Ear tries words just like the mouth tastes meats.

  • Alex N - 3 years ago
Peter was commanding water baptism even after that God had baptised them with the H.G. the only baptism that can make us clean .The only baptism of PROMISE ,Peter was in essence saying that the blood didn't make them Clean

he was impling they needed water baptism the blood was insufficiant which was a slap in the face of God and the lamb of God....Thats y the lord rebuked peter 3 times with that sheet with all the unclean animals which was the Church that made

Clean that was knit at the 4 corners as the blood of the lamb is knit with the 4 gospels .All the unclean animals in that sheet was The Church that was made clean by the blood of the lamb not water baptism that peter was commanding....But after that Peter understood the vision he says then remembered I the Words Of our lord ..John baptised you with water but i will baptise you with the H.G. AND FIRE.. John 11 : 16 KJV...When Peter was commanding water baptism he was impling they were not made clean by baptism of the .H.G. THAT ORIGINATED FROM THE CROSS, HIS BLOOD ETC

Thats y the lord was so upset with Peter,..Peter should have been preaching behold the lamb of God that taketh away the sins of the world not Johns water baptism .Even Paul was reluctant to preach water baptism saying it wd make the blood of no effect....And I understand that ....Even in the O.T. blood had to be applied to the doorpost not water, But the BLOOD IS NOW APPLIED TO THE DOORPOST OF OUR HEARTS. VIA HIS WORDS THE SEEDS OF THE SOWER THE LIVING WORDS OF GOD...As his words are the blood spritually speaking...Thats y he is saying you are made clean by the word

i have spoken unto you...As Jesus was the living word made flesh and BLOOD...Every day is communion under the new covenant. ...Thus every day is passover under the New Covenant....Behold i make all things New

    Hello Gloria,

I looked in Matthew 1 and Luke 3 for the two genealogies given for Jesus. The bible notes for Luke 3 say that some think that this genealogy is linked to Mary's.

Chris Just to clarify I never said not to do it I stated not necessary to receive power from on High by Being

born again of the Spirit. The reality is the book of acts is the Transition book from end of the Law period to Age

and there waa overlapping of practices until the apostle Paul by Gods Grace Believed and Jesu Christ showed

in practice the Spiritual walk in the age of grace. That being shared if some one wants baptized o.k. if not o.k.

whatever as long as they confess Romans 10:9+10 and believe and do the word. Just sharing some heart.
  • Bro dan - In Reply - 3 years ago
    Brother Chris,

Thanks for your response. I find baptism so easy to understand and I will break down this scripture the way I understand it.

    John 3:3-7

3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Jesus is talking specifically about being "born again" This is our 2nd birth.

4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?

Nicodemus is confused, he does not understand "born again".

5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

Jesus confirms to be "born again" we must be "born of water and Spirit". He emphasizes "born of water and the spirit". "If Jesus was referring to the fetus (water bag) or anything with our original birth - he would not have included the word "water" as we all were born as a fetus in our original birth, and the "water" would be a moot point!

6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Jesus showed us by being baptized himself what born again looks like and the meaning of "Spirit is spirit" as upon being baptized the Holy Spirit came down from heaven and landed on Jesus for "all to see". Very powerful and a perfect example for us to follow!

7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

Born again, easy to understand! Something so easy for christians to follow, I just don't understand the reluctance.

    God Bless.

Hi Gloria Being Gods word is an eastern book and the men were head of the House in eastern culture the only

mention in Mathew is Mary being the Mother of Jesus, that is in itself is a miracle because she literally was a teenager

and when the angel appeared and it says she was troubled but not fearful it was more like whats going on but the

words out of Gabriel mouth Fear Not so she focused and said be it unto me according to thy word. That is a great

    woman of God.

The other use of trouble is in Luke 4:12 when Zachariah saw the angel and the same word trouble

means terror or fear and the end result of that was because he did not Believe Gods Word verse 20 He was shut up

so to speak until the Child had to be named Luke1:60-66 and in eastern culture the Child is named by the Father. That

blew the minds of the extended family that he was not named after anyone in the family, but also he couldn't speak

until the child was named. God always covers unbelief when needed. Thank God He cover ours in Christ.

The week has seven days, only because there is a Creator thar ordered Adam and Eve to rest on the seveth day, called the Sabath. When the time of prophecy came, Jesus was born from the flesh, through God's sprit, acording to The Holy Scriptures. Jonh starts the first chapter, witha tremendous declaration about Jesus, being The Word and God! Isaiascalls Emmanuel to the Messiah, wich means God amongst us! Jesus presents Himself ONE with God the Father, and as Being The Light of the all World. The Word of God points Sion as God's Inhabitation on the northern side of the Universe. Job didn't answer to God's question about the magnetic North and the Light's source and how does the Light propagates through the entire Universe.

ezequiel describes the Temple of God and a river that comes out of The Temple. God is the source of The All Power, Light, the magnetic North and All the other forces of the cosmos, as gravity wich operates under strict mathematic laws known by the Astrophisicists, who through astronomic observatories, mesured the length of Light waves and recognised Light's relevance to understand time and space. God is THe Spirit, as the bible aknowledges! Therefore God isn't subjected to the Laws He made for His free wil living creatures. The character of God is Love! Love comprehends Mercy and Justice! Jesus was baptised to acomplish all the Justice, as He answered Jonh Baptist. Jesus has Two natures Divine+Human! Satan's rebellion could have succeded, if Jesus didn't acomplish all Justice of the Law. On Mathew 37, Jesus declares ten commandements's Law, eternal as everything done or written by God. If not so, why did Jesus died for? says Paul, appointed by Jesus to be Jesu's apostle to the gentiles, whom we are part of also. The Ten commandements was the Law broken by Adam and Eve, putting satan's lie, above TRUTH WHO IS GOD! These is consacrated by God's Hand Writting, on the first four commandements of the Law. Jesus's good works are for walk on them.
