    Hello Jesse . I read your reply to Lisalou and enjoyed it . The reason I gave the reference of Acts chapter 7 verses 55 and 56 is because I believe that Stephen did actually get a vision of Christ in his Father's Kingdom and , if we keep reading verses 57 and 58 , we see that those Jews who heard Stephen say , Behold , I see the heavens opened , and the Son of Man standing in the right hand of God , were deeply offended by this and it seems that this is what prompted them to stone him to death . In Mark chapter 14 Jesus says to the high priest , in verse 62 , ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power , and coming in the clouds of heaven , the high priest responds , What need we any further witnesses ? In Luke chapter 16 , just before Jesus says , There be some standing here...etc , he is talking about people loosing their life for the gospels sake , verses 24 through to verse 28 . So he prefaces his statement about some standing here with people loosing their life for his sake , which of course we all know Stephen was the first Christian martyr . If you are wondering when the high priest shall receive his similar vision , I believe that will be when he is ressurected , Zechariah chapter 12 verse 10 . I'm new to this so please excuse me while I learn how to explain myself better ! I hope people will be patient with me .

    Dear Vickie Rodriguez on Acts 2. When the Holy Spirit comes to you and you are to pray, praise it may come differently depending on what kind of person you are or. We rejoice with those who are happy. We weep with those who mourn. After all, we change our mood according to what is needed. After all, he does nothing that will hurt, destroy you or other people. Always proceed in that way, He comes in and with peace. A great joy can trigger the Holy Spirit. Likewise, He will always be close to you whether in sorrow or joy. You can ask Him to come to you, and He will always come and be close to you. John 16:17 He loves that we need Him. He lives in our hearts those of us who believe in Jesus Christ. For your own part, keep your heart above all. For it is there you will find the Lord in our days. Not with gaps and screams in different parish house. He comes with peace. And always be ready and go out before the Lord Jesus Christ.

    The problem with that is that most people don't lack anything in the current situation.

    I took the temerature on it the other day. And sat down to give a glass of water to people passing by. No one even needed water. How, then, can they lack and understand that they lack a thing SALVATION. But one thing they welcome is God's Word, the Bible. So there's a way to evangelize here for now. Hope you understand what I mean. And always be on the Lord's side He will help you in all situations if you ask Him. Much Good luck. And never give up, He does not give up us.     I'm assuming you know the answer to what happens to us in the afterlife, so I would say to be honest with your child, God's Word is for every age, old and young. There are KJV bibles for 8-12 year olds, you and your child could read together, so you can explain, if there are any questions. The best answer is to allow God's Word to speak and teach.     Jesse, thanks for your response. In the text it says that the man ran to Jesus and knelt before Him. This man must have thought that Jesus was God, too, and was running to Him to obtain eternal life. We don't know if this man witnessed any of Jesus' miracles or heard Him speak before, but most likely he had.

    We can count on the goodness of God. We can count on the fact that He will always work all things out according to His perfect and good will for our good, whether in this life or the life to come. ( Romans 8:28) We can count on God giving us good things when we ask in prayer ( Matt. 7:11)

    I love your post GiGi. It speaks to the heart. God's goodness has followed me throughout my entire life. He's saved me from terrible situations, He never gave up on me, and He opened my ears and eyes to His truth, love, and power. God saved me from spiritual death through His only Son Jesus, and I'm beyond grateful. I see God's goodness every single day, when He gives people another day, another chance to believe in His Son, to repent, and to be saved. Thank you for your post, that was awesome. God bless.

    Something that is unfortunate is that Orthodox rabbis use this verse to prove the Jesus Christ is not the Messiah because Jesus said there are some standing right here that will not taste of death until they see the Kingdom of God. They say that the Kingdom of God still has not been established on the earth, and the disciples are dead, so what Jesus said is not true. That is the way they see it.

    But we know better. Peter, James, and John got to see the kingdom of God come before they died. They got to see Jesus completely transformed. In Luke 9:29, that word glistering, the Greek word represents emitting a light, not reflecting, but emitting. The light was actually coming out from Him, and it is the word that is used to describe lightning. So, you can imagine what the scene was like. It was not reflected light. It was not a spotlight coming out of heaven to shine on Jesus. He was literally transformed into His body of glory in front of them.

    First, let me say Amen to the fact that Jesus was attesting to His deity. But there's something about Jesus' statement ""Why did you call me good?" that had me wondering for years why He would ask this question. Of course, we know Jesus is good. But for the longest time, I took His remark "Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God" as Jesus telling him do not call me good because only God the Father is good.

    But here's another reason why I love the Greek text. We see the word good in our English bible, and we know what good means, right? But in the Greek, there are several different Greek words for the word good. This word that Jesus used here is the word AGATHOS. This is a word that describes the goodness of God. AGATHOS is never applied to the goodness of man. The goodness of man would be KALOS.

    So now that I know that this is the word AGATHOS, what I see Jesus saying is "Why did you call me AGATHOS?" There is only one that is AGATHOS, and that is God. Do you realize what you just called me? You called me God. Why did you do that?

    So, how God has bestowed His goodness on my life? I think you've already touched on it in your comments. God is good all the time. Even through my hardships and difficult circumstances, or whatever I'm going through, God has given me the ability to say "The Lord is good" even when things are not so good in my life. We have a tendency to say the Lord is good when all is well in our lives, but not so when things are going bad. But yes, He is good all the time. And it's His goodness that brings us into a closer relationship with Him.

    If I may offer another perspective on this, we see Jesus saying this also in Matthew 16:28, and Mark 9:1. If you notice, after all three presentations, it immediately goes into the transfiguration of Christ. Matthew ends at Verse 28, but as soon as you go to Matthew 17:1, it talks about the transfiguration. It's the same thing right after Mark 9:1 and Luke 9:27.

    When Jesus said, "there be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the kingdom of God," I believe He was speaking of Peter, James, and John. They were the ones who Jesus took with Him up into the mountain to pray. They were the ones that were there to witness the transfiguration of Jesus.

    Luke 9:29 tells us that as he was praying, the fashion (literally outward appearance) of his countenance (or face), was altered. In the Greek text, it just uses the word HETEROS. His face became different. But even with the Greek word HETEROS, meaning different in kind than He was before, it wasn't a physical change. It was a physical change into a spiritual change. Matthew uses the word metamorphosis, meaning completely transformed. In the Greek text, it just uses the word HETEROS. His face became different.

    Now in Matthew Chapter 16, it is unfortunate that Verse 28 was placed in Chapter 16 because Verse 28 goes with Verse 1. Sometimes bible commentaries will stop at the end of Chapter 16 and do a five-page presentation of what Verse 28 means. All they had to do is say go to Verse 1, that there are some standing here that will not taste of death until they see the Son of Man coming.

    THE GOODNESS OF GOD

    Mark 10:17-18

    "And when He was gone forth into the way, there came one running and kneeled to Him, and asked Him, Good master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?"

    And Jesus said unto him, "Why calleth thou me good? There is none good but one, that is God."

    This is the story of the rich man who said he had kept the commandments since he was a child.

    This verse came to mind today along with the title of my post.

    It made me think about the fact that God is good all the time. He never ceases to be good.

    He is even good when He allows or even brings catastrophic events upon people or punishments such as taking Israel and Judah out of the land when they would not cease to revert back again and again to idolatry. He was following through with what He promised would happen if His chosen people did not worship Him alone.

    He was good when He poured His wrath for sin upon Jesus on the cross. He was good when He allowed the persecution of the church under repeated Roman emperors leading to the martyrdom of millions. He is good today, even in our hardships, sufferings, and trials.

    But, His goodness extends to us in the giving of His grace and mercy; in His patience in order to bring us to Christ; in HIs providence that He supplies daily for our needs; in His protection from the many times we experience a "near miss"; in the creation of family and friendships ; and in the beauty of this natural world that we can readily enjoy firsthand and now through film and photos taken by others.

    When Jesus said that God alone is good, He was attesting to His deity in a somewhat round about way. The rich man knew to come to Jesus and kneel before him in order to find eternal life, which only comes from the goodness of God.

    So, today I think on this topic. I would love to hear from others how God has bestowed His goodness on one's life.

    It would be very much simpler if there was only one person with a given screen name. Sometimes this happens, as I have noticed. But also, I think that some people use multiple screen names, not necessarily to dominate the site, but to give the impression that other people share their same views that some of us have recognized as being aberrant. So, that is another possible reason why some make multiple accounts. It is deceptive and hopefully some of us can recognize it when it occurs. Should we contact admin when we notice this?

    Please disregard my last message. I just noticed that there is another user on here with the name Jesse. I am not sure if he is new here or not, but having someone posting with the same user's name as mine could cause confusion. I hope this does not happen. Some websites will not accept a user name that has already been taken but I guess it is okay here. Can you imagine multiple people posting with the same user's name, like Jesse, or Ronald? How would we know who's who?

    Hi Natasha St John! If you read in Revelation 7:4-8 It explains that the 144,000 are out of the 12 tribes of Israel. As we read on starting with verse 9 we see that the nations that make up the rest of the world, that have their garments washed white in the blood of the Lamb, are a multitude that no man could number. So the 144,000 are only those that God has sealed, out of the 12 tribes of Israel. Now we know because God's Word is truth and there is a thread in the bible. Isaiah 64:6 says that all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags. In Matthew 7:21-23 says that God will say depart from me ye workers of iniquity. Also in

    1 Corinthians 6:9-11 it says, Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. And in Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. So by fallowing the thread of the Bible we can clearly see that the 144,000 are only out of the 12 tribes of Israel, they are washed in the blood of the Lamb and sealed by God. The rest of the world is the multitude that no man can number and is also washed in the blood of Christ Jesus.

    My understanding: Due to the flood all of mankind today are descendants of Adam and Eve through the sons of Noah. We don't look alike but we have the same blood and the same skin, Acts 17:26 1 Cor. 15:39. Satan has twisted it so that we look at each other as different races when there is only one race created by God through His only begotten Son Jesus.

    Today we see people as either Jews or Gentiles with the Gentiles of many religions. We see in Deut. 7:6 God said to Israel "God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto Himself above all people that are upon the face of the earth." If we look at what God said to Abram in Genesis 12:1-3 "and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed," this is pointing to the coming of Jesus.

    Israel was chosen by God for his plan of salvation as Jesus said to the woman at the well, John 4:21-24 how we worship the Father is about to change for salvation is of the Jews. Salvation came through Israel the chosen people, who today are called Jews came the chosen One, the Anointed One, the Messiah/Christ Jesus the Son of God. Through Him, all the families of the earth will be blessed. We also see this in Matt. 12:17-21 Isaiah 42:1-4

    Gal. 3:16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

    Gal. 4:4-5 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, 5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.

    Gal. 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

    Whosoever is in Jesus, the Chosen One, by Him becomes the chosen people of God Jew or Gentile. Matt. 22:14 For many are called, but few are chosen. Matt. 20:16 1 Cor. 1:27 Eph. 1:4 2 Thes. 2:13 Rev. 17:14. Jesus will return and reign and the chosen will reign with Him.

    He is speaking of John, I'm guessing. John was taken up to heaven and saw everything in the book of Revelation, which included Jesus' return. It could be that other apostles had these visions as well. So, John did see Jesus' return before he passed away, technically. That's my best guess.

    Kathy GBU ....Lemme mention some thing about what Jesus did at Calvary...Jesus said if i be lifted up i will draw ALL men unto me...Thats what the Cross was for ppl like this young man that was in bondage to something or other....any sinner...While we were yet sinners Christ DIED for us..Thats all inclusive...Our conduct has nothin to do with it...Its what Jesus did at Calvary that the father sees.... Romans 10:20 kjv....I was found of them that sought me not and made manifest unto them that asked not after me...This N.C. at Calvary is all inclusive....I will KNOW them ALL from the least to the greatest and they shall no more teach know the lord for they shall all know me... Jeremiah 31:34....Remember Jesus said i come to set the captive free....I come not to destroy mens lives but to save mens lives

Titus 3:57.....Not by works of righteousness which we have done but by his mercy and regeneration of the H.G. that we are saved....Its not about us....When Jesus said it finished there are no more works we can do to obtain salvation....The H.G. is the gift of God....To humanity....God so loved the world....But we have to wait for his book to be opened b/f the Kingdom can come....The Kingdom is not here just yet...Remember God told Daniel do thy way Daniel till the words of book that is sealed is opened... Daniel 12 :8 kjv....That N.C. in his blood....I am the light of the world but the nite comes when no man can work...But Micah 5:3 tells us that God was gonna give them up till the woman is in travail and birth pains....And Rev. 12 :10 kjv says that NOW IS COME Salvation and THE KINGDOM of our lord and his Christ...etc...But plz note the kingdom does not come till the book is opened and the woman gives birth to the Children of the Kingdom....Unless you receive the Kingdom as lil Child you will in no wise enter there in....But not to worry as Jeremiah 30:6 Jeremiah sees all all all men in travail and birth pains...A time of Jacobs trouble which is an Israel of God .

    Is the 144000.00 be the ones that are alive at the coming of Christ ? , the ones that have stayed true to GOD , the ones that have not been killed off by those who have rejected CHRIST I do understand that CHRIST said unless he comes there would be no flesh remain , does this have something to do with it ?, Who really will be the 144000.00?

    Jesse Thank you for your response, though you did not provide any of the things that you accused me of. That comment that said "May God be with those who choose to be deceiving and hide the truth" was not directed at you. If you read my comments to GiGi then you know I told her some of my comments were not showing up. The one where I asked you to please show me where I was harassing or badgering anyone did not show on the main page, but did show on the thread where me and Spencer were having the discussion. Thats were you made the comments to Spencer about me harassing or badgering people, you even said this used to be a good place to have discussions about a month ago. Jesse you wrongfully accused me of several things and I didn't find anything in your 3 pages tonight that prove any of that true, or any apology for the accusations you made against me. The comment to you where I asked you to show me was on 3-18 it was the comment just before the one about hiding the truth. Now after these comments by you tonight I find you were accusing me of something else about continuing the argument for weeks. I was under the impression that we were having a discussion not arguing. I don't like arguing. Tonight you said a lot about we post things we believe to be the truth, that's true Jesse but when you were accusing me of being disrespectful, and harassing, badgering people that was your opinion (that was not truth) and has nothing to do with posting the truth from Scripture, does it? I only have one more thing to say, not to start this again but you said The Bible doesn't specifically say the rapture is pre or post trib. ( Mt 24:29-31) does say "Immediately after the tribulation" its just taken completely out of context by pre-trib believers. I do forgive you Jesse. Even though an apology would have made me think that maybe you really didn't mean all those hurtful things you said about me. But maybe you did.

    Jesse, you are deserving of my kindness. I think that all of us in our recent discussion on the pre-trib rapture should go back and re-read what we posted to self-examine ourselves. That is all that is needed at this point, since the Holy Spirit will use this discussion to refine each of us.

    We can always think the best of one another, and pray for each other, and speak honestly about how we treat one another so that there is nothing left outstanding. So, if you read my posts to Jimbob, you will know my thoughts. I know we all need forgiveness and to practice it with mercy and love.

    So, please know that I consider you to be a dear friend on here. I value your teaching to all of us here, but even more so, I value your kind and considerate way you most often exhibit on here and I thank you for that.
