    Hey Giannis,

Thanks for pointing that out, that makes clearer understanding. I agree angel is a messenger and could point to the leader, elder, or pastor, because all the letters are addressed unto/to the angel of the church of, and I do not think Jesus would be sending a heavenly angel a letter.

It is clearer that part of the letter is to the angel/pastor if there were no repentance the leader would lose his position, and the lampstand would be taken which is the light that comes from Jesus. It could even be like Matt. 24:50-51, just a thought.

I see the letter was addressed to the angel/pastor, but I feel it was also for the congregation, the Church, by what Jesus said; "He who has an ear let him hear" and "To him that overcometh". This is directed to anyone male or female, singular or plural, even to us today.

Thanks again for your knowledge of the Greek language.

    God bless,

I wonder more and more about men (not their character neccessarily) with the title 'father' or 'Rabbi' since The Lord said not to be called either. this is not meant to be a 'gotcha' statement, as it is recorded in the Gospel here [vs 6 >12]. If our Lord Yeshua's word's are open to debate/challenge/controversy/doubt, what's next? {written in God's Word(s) [KJV]} in these 'LATTER' of the last days "..perilous times.." [as of today 10/26/2022] on planet earth?

    Thank you David T.

I look forward to seeing her and my dad again with the Lord in eternity. I appreciate your prayers. I am doing well with her death. I have many siblings. about half of us are believers, the other half are not and follow pagan practices. So, I continue to pray for their salvation and a return to the faith we were brought up in.

    Hellow Ronald

Jesus didn't address the whole congregation but only the angel(pastor) of it. In greek the word "thy" (or in modern English "you") is singular not plural. The message is specifically for his spiritual condition not for his congregation's. GBU

Hopefully you can understand my question as to why the beast was already in the bottomless pit before the 1000 year reign. Everyone that addresses my question agrees that he is only placed there once and that is after the 1000 year reign. So apparently, based on what you are saying, he went into it twice, but Scripture only says once.
  • David T. on Luke 17 - 3 years ago
There are many "numbers" being toss about with no Biblical reference: 7000 being the elected Jews? Acts 2 was used, but only 3000 were saved and baptized v41. Later in the same chapter many were saved, however no exact number v47 "and the LORD added to the church daily such as should be saved."

A reference was made to Revelation 7, but even there John writes of the 144,000; 12,000 from each tribe.

I found from 1 Kings 19: 18: GOD reminds Elijah "...yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Ball, and every mouth which hath not kissed him."

GOD to shine HIS face and bless all on this forum. HIS countenance to be great upon all the saints and give you peace.

Let us pray for salvation of our leadership and the lost and confused. May we put first the desire of the LORD.

I believe we are to go directly to the Lord with our prayers. Our Father, placed within all Christians a helper: Holy Spirit that has many gifts that can intercede on our behalf. I know Saints are in many of the KJV books. I wonder if praying to Saints is a form of an idol? I am not sure. Saint's roles are to sing hymns, play instruments, make requests to Christ and offer prayers on our behalf. It's a good question. I'm perplexed but would love to know what additional information you acquire on the topic...

I'd like to add to discussion on Matthew 5:22

Matthew 25:31-46, is how we are to treat the "least of these" to belittle anyone is a direct offense to GOD. 1Corinthians 1:20-27, Proverbs 17:5, Romans 14:13, James 4:11, 1Corinthians 4:5, John 13:34, Romans 12:10,

This is "brother or sister" literal & family of believers aka "brethren " because those words from "family" hurt deepest

    We're to edify Romans 13:8, 1John 4:7, Romans 14:19, 1Thessalonians 5:8-23,

    Hopefully these are helpful

Raca defined as sinful insult (empty one/fool)is being angry in one's heart and Hell is a place of bitterness and rage like having anger and resentment live within you. I believe the Lord is saying by using the term one will be severely punished by the law.

  • Richard H Priday on Psalms 33 - 3 years ago
Psalm 33 begins with a praise admonition for song with "noise" (v. 3); as well as "skillfully" played music with a variety of instruments in the surrounding verses being approved for use. In verses 3-5 we aslso see a "new song" mentioned which is associated with God's judgment and also reflecting His works (v. 4). This is reminiscent of the verses in Revelation 5:9 and 14:3 which reflects the earlier song of Moses starting before the end of Deuteronomy 31 and most of chapter 32. These show judgments that will occur which finally will bring Israel to the right standing with God.

We see further description in verses 6 through 10 of the creation of earth as well as the fear of the Lord (verse 8) and devices o men coming to naught (v 10); a theme repeated elsewhere in Psalms and other passages as I noted in other commentaries previously.

Verses 10 through 14 get into the general state of nations; if their trust is in the Lord. This indeed may not be the case now; but at His coming there will be a major change in the attitude of many remaining as seen in Isaiah 19:23 for example.

Once again verses 16 through 17 show what Solomon should have heeded to in multiplying horses and gold and silver; clearly David's foolish census taught him that lesson!

Ultimately the promise is in verse 19 to deliver from death for rhose who fear him (v. 18). THe theme of hope and truste end out this Psalm; which are things we should patiently heed in these last days.

Shane thank you ever so much. You gave me the answer i needed,. I have been a believer since I was a small boy. I was led to believe then that if we died with a mortal sin on our soul we could not enter heaven. O ver the years i ran hot and cold attending church but never lost my faith in Christ. I had never read the bible but in the last year i started reading several pages a day and I have learned so much that i never knew. I wish i would hav e started years ago but now i will continue my quest for the rest of my life. I always knew Jesus was crucified but i thought it was to erase original sin of adam and eve from our souls. Im originally from Michigan and now i watch church service on line every week to church my son and his wife attend and with daily bible reading I feel so at peace and wonderment about the horrible sacrifice Jesus made to forgive our sins that we may spend eternity with him. Again, appreciate your response and hope you are well and everything is going good in your life according to plans you have set for yourself, Len

    Psalm 32

The summary of the Psalm seems to be similar or perhaps is connected to the previous one; as we see a mention of aching bones in verse 3. I had already postulated as to the possible cause of these issues; and it seems in verse 5 that certain behaviors may have led to this condition (as well as the hand of God being heavy on David in verse 4).

Verse 6 discusses coming to the Lord while there is yet time; not say in the "great flood" which could be a past reference to what happened in the days of Noah or perhaps in the end times as well. Surely we need to be mindful of sin and approach Christ while there is yet day and we can work ( John 9:4 and similar admonitions). Verse 7 once again discusses a "hiding place" or place of refuge which could be deliverance through the trials in this life or from the wrath to come; or certain other things today.

We see an interesting change of wording in verse 8 which seems to carry to verse 9. The "I will instruct thee" clearly is God Himself talking; and it seems that verse 9 is very much like the book of James in the N.T. ( James 3:3). Verse 10 also is like other verses which state there is no peace for the wicked ( Isaiah 57:21).

We are told to "shout for joy" if indeed righteous. We are reminded of the Beatitudes where we are said to be "blessed' when persecuted and many say things against us for Christ's sake ( Matt. 5:11). It seems David spent much of his years patiently handling accusations; first from Saul and then from his own offspring; partially as the result of God's chastisement due to his own transgressions.

    Dear John.

I think that it is best for one to believe that Jesus in the eternal Son of God who became flesh for us. Believing that Jesus is God and equal to the Father and the Holy Spirit helps us to understand the Love of God, His plan of redemption, and his workings in history to redeem for Himself a people called by His name, which Jesus refers to in Matthew 28:19 when He told the disciples to baptize disciples in the NAME of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

John, I am wondering more of what you think about this. Hope to hear from you soon.

    David T.

Yes, we are to continue to press on in faith and press into our relationship with our Lord. We are to be running to Him, not from Him. We are to be coming to Him in prayer for all things, not lapsing into self-effort. We are to contend for the faith and hold out the Gospel of Grace to all who inquire of us, not cower back and not "make waves" or fear what others will think or do to us. We are to persevere under pressure and persecution, strive to live godly lives in this wicked generation, not try to be "relevant: by acting like those who don't believe.

With the upcoming elections in two weeks in U.S.A. citizens have an opportunity to vote for those who will bring improvement to our situation rather than those who continue to tear our country down. Let us all go out and vote while we still have this right! I encourage every American believer to pray for God to intervene in this election and not let those who wish to cheat prevail in their fraudulent attempts to maintain power. We should pray for those in office to be changed by the Gospel of Jesus and turn away from their lawless deeds. We can pray for our elected officials to seek wisdom from God and not each other. We can pray for this serious economic downturn in our country gets reversed quickly before people are forced into homelessness and lack of basic necessities due to inflation. We do need God's help and are in desperate and decisive times this election cycle.

Thank you, David for the reminder.

    Hello Nick

Your illness is properly called Schizophrenia. It's a mental illness. You should always take your medicine at the proper times, never omitting them, and have always contact with your doctor. The voices you hear are most probably neither from God nor from the devil. They are voices in your mind from you hourself. Just ignore them and don't get frightened. There is no danger for you at all, don't be afraid. Besides that dear Nick you must know that God can heal all types of illnesses, mental and physical. He made the universe with His word, is there anything difficult for him? So there is your chance to be healed forever. Just keep going to the Lord without fear and hesitation and keep asking Him to heal you until you receive what you ask for. Put any faith you have in action and just go to God. I am sure you will get a solution for your problems. God never sends away those who come to him, especially His children. Just have faith in your heart, dear brother and go to our Father in Heaven. God Bless You. I will pray for you.

Jesus said in Matthew 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

And in 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

I'm positive all has not been fulfilled
