1 John 2:1-6
1. My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
2. And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also the sins of the whole world.
3. And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
4. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
5. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfect: hereby know we that we are in him.
6. He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.
John 14:15-26
15. If ye love me, keep my commandments.
16. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever;
17. Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth have him not, nether knoweth him but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
18. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
19. Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more, but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.
20. At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye are in me, and I in you.
21. He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
22. Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?
23. Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our obode with him.
24. He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.
25. These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.

I was an Eastern Orthodox christian for a long time. So I was tought things the way that that church believes. When I was reborn and studied the Bible, there were many things I couldn't understand, and many things I misunderstood or came up with wrong ideas. Who was going to teach me properly the Gospel? I had to trust in a church. When I realized that, unlike the Orthodox Church, there are many many reborn churches with different beliefs, I asked God "Which one is your true church, how can I figure it out?" I believe I got an answer and that answer was " Open my Bible and read, the church that is similar to one described is my true church, the one that do not fits to the ancient church is not mine" Maybe I imagined that? Maybe but the fact is that what I think I was told made perfect sence. So I chose a church that I believe teaches the Bible properly.
I firmly believe that one needs to be in communion with other christians, among other to find and offer love, compassion, support, etc. If a christian is not in a fellowship with people similar to him then he will look for that company outside the church, in the sinful world. Figuratively, if you place a non-smoker in a company of smokers after sometime he will become a smoker himself too, and the opposite.
Anyway, thanks for your response. I agree with you.
John 14:5-14
5. Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?
6. Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
7. If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
8. Philip saith unto him, Lord shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.
9. Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, shew us the Father?
10. Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
11. Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works sake.
12. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do, because I go unto my Father.
13. And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
1 Corinthians 12:7-11
"But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal(it means the church).
For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;
To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;
To another the working of miracles; to another PROPHESY; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:
But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will."
Ephesians 4:11
"And he gave some, apostles; and some, PROPHETS; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;"
The above gifts and ministries are to work inside the church, the Body of Christ, not outside individually. My opinion...
Hello Delilah.
I am sorry to make you sad (also others) but I think that my post has been misunderstood.
I don't mean that somebody has to be a scholar to teach or explain the Word of God. Most of the 12 were uneducated people. God selects all sort of people for His purpose, educated and uneducated. Even if somebody on this site has a university degree, I think there are only few that have studied in Bible Schools of have a University Degree in Theological Studies. Many here are educated but in fields foreign to the Word of God, so their education (like mine) is completely useless when studying the Bible.
There are churches that demand a Degree from people to select them as pastors or elders. I know some. Not my church. The pastor in my church repairs cars for a living and many elders are just simple workers in factories.
Any person can be selected by God to become a minister. But be careful, A MINISTER. If it was adequate for a believer to stay and study only on their own, why did God place ministries in the church? The answer is so clear in Ephesians 4:11-15. Please read those verses carefully. They say that the work to teach and explain the Word of God is given by God to the church, to the ministers. Of course God reveals to everybody His Word to a various extent, but those revelations are to be worked inside the church, not individualy outside the church. God has placed an order, an hierarchy. A Body.
What I wanted to point out is the wrong attitude many christians have that they think the church can be substituted by a one- person-church. So they go like this. Me "PLease God what does that mean...?" God "Well child, that means..". This is a wrong attitude, it doesn't work like this. Or it works to an extent, the main preaching is through the church. It is not good for us to stay alone, we must inegrate ourselves in a congregation we choose we 'd like to be members of.
Of course this site is very useful, I've taken many things from here, also I have rejected many. I read what people believe and I get explanations of verses I wanted to know what they mean. Sometimes I stick to my own beliefs, but sometimes I change my mind, it depends. I read experiences, testimonies that are so unimaginable that sometimes I am wondering if they are really true or some make fun of us. But at the same time I read things that are over the top. And I understand that usually the most strange beliefs come from people that never go to a church or even if they go they still stick to their own strange beliefs.
I understand many brothers and sisters here on this site are old or are far away from a church and have no means of transportation, or for any other practical reason, so I take back my older post as far as they are concerned.
Sorry to offend you and other people here, I am no better than you are. I am not a pastor, or elder, or a minister, just a simple deacon in my church, and probably not for long. My church demands, according to the Word of God, that the pastror's, elders' and deaconschildren to be always in faith, otherwise they have to resign, and my son is out for the time being. I hope not for long.
God Bless You.
In any organization of people the larger it gets it encourages corruption, including sin. We have seen this play out plenty of times with megachurches who may have started well but went astray. Similar to government waste, church organizations can become wasteful, lose their purpose, and become and unhealthy and toxic places. So, I think its prudent for people to use discernment and put their faith, trust and hope in God, not in an organization of people who still wrestle with sin. Their attending church should be for the right motives and not because someone is hitting them over the head with a bat guilt and shame. There is also risk if too much attention is put on an organization instead of a personal walk with Christ, that someone's faith might transform into a ritualistic religion tied to that entity's specific rites and rituals.
Matthew 12:50 is an interesting quote by Jesus about who is His brother and mother.
As we enter into verse 8; we have the first of several statements as to the fate of the wicked.
It is hard to even bear thinking about these things without pleading to God for strength. We notice the cowardly state as being the first sin mentioned. We can't do it without the Lord as Peter attempted to do with bravado without the Spirit. Without Him we can do nothing. As we see a parallel verse in Isaiah 66:24 we see the state of man either in hades during the Millennium or during the eternal state. We see how God's mercy and forgiveness are only for when they are in this life; and we also see how they will be an abhorrence to all that see them. There is no way to overstate here how important hearing God's voice is at the present above all of life's distractions and temptations and comforts. I can't see how anyone no matter how mature they are in the Lord isn't broken when considering these things; and ever grateful that God saved them from this unspeakable horror.
The rest of the chapter basically describes heaven coming down to earth and it's dimensions and foundation stones. Again; as stated previously when we consider the affect of a city almost the size of the moon landing on the earth surely the edges would be pressed out and likely the mantle would expose itself to the surface which would allow lava (i.e. the lake of fire) to be outside the gates. We see this also in other verses where Christ warns that heaven will be seen but "you yourselves thrust out" ( Luke 13:28).
There will be some existence of kings on the earth; whether it symbolizes those of the church or those perhaps who lived through the Millennium period bringing glory and honor into it. The doors are not shut day and night (implying that even if the light of the sun and moon aren't NEEDED they still may exist). Again; the last verse is a terrifying reminder that unsaved people will not enter or be able to. They are locked forever in sin.
John 14:1-4
1. Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
2. In my Father's house are many manions: if it were not so, I would told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
4. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.
1. What is the dew of Hebron?
2. What does Zion refer to?
Psalm 7:1-17
1. O Lord my God, in thee do I put my trust: save me from all them that persecute me, and deliver me:
2. Lest he tear my soul like a lion, rending it in pieces, while there is none to deliver.
3. O Lord my God, if I have done this; if there be iniquity in my hands;
4. If I have rewarded evil unto him that was at peace with me; (yea, I have delivered him that without cause is mine enemy:)
5. Let the enemy persecute my soul, and take it; yea, let him tread down my life upon the earth, and lay mine honour in the dust.
6. Arise, O Lord, in thine anger, lift up thyself because of the rage of mine enemies: and awake for me to judgment that thou hast commanded.
7. So shall the congregation of the people compass thee about: for their sakes therefore return thou on high.
8. The Lord shall judge the people: judge me, O Lord, according to my righteousness, and according to mine integrity that is in me.
9. Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end; but establish the just: for the righteous God trieth the hearts and reins.
10. My defence is of God, which saveth the upright in heart.
11. God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.
12. If he turn not, he will whet his sword; he hath bent his bow, and made it ready.
13. He hath also prepared for him the instruments of death; he ordained his arrows against the persecutors.
14. Behold, he travaileth with iniquity, and hath conceived mischief, and brought forth falsehood.
15. He made a pit, and digged it, and is fallen into the ditch which he made.
16. His mischief shall return upon his own head, and his violent dealings shall come down upon his pate.
17. I will praise the Lord according to his righteousness: and will sing praises to the name of the Lord most high.
Psalm 1:1-6
1. Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
2. But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
3. And he shall be like a tree planted by rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
4. The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaft which the wind driveth away.
5. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
6. For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.
Well I guess we can forget about Sons and Daughters prophesying now, unless of course they are approved by "The Church"
2 Timothy 2:15 Be diligent to present thyself approved to God, a workman without cause for shame, rightly dividing [dissecting] the word of truth.
Men are deceived into thinking they can do almost any thing . Scriptures tell us we can not change the color of our hair , why worry about the rest ?
I often think God must laugh at man's vain attempts. How about climate change for example
Have no faith in men or their logic . It's all vanity . In light of truth .
John 1:6-13
6. There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
7. The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
8. He was not the Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
9. That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
10. He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
11. He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
12. But as many as received him, to them gave he that believe on his name:
13. Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
As Always glad to hear from you. How are you doing?
Are you seeing better now? I have been thinking of you.
John 1:19-28
19. And this is the record of John when the Jews sent priest and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou?
20. And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed,I am not Christ.
21. And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not, Art thou that prophet? And he answered, no.
22. Then said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself?
23. He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias .
24. And they were sent were of the Pharisees.
25. And they asked him, and said unto him, Why baptized thou then, if thou be not that Christ, nor Elias, neither that prophet?
26. John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not;
27. He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe's latchet I am not worthy to loose.
28. These things were done in Bethabara beyond Jordan, where John was baptizing.
