The Bible also says Jesus created everything and was there in the beginning. He is not a created being which some assume "begotton" means. I've never heard all these creative twists on scripture until just a couple years ago and still amazes me how crafty satan is to deceive so many Christians in such a clever way as to get them to deny the divinity of Jesus. It's like a pastor fell away and wrote books or went campaining against Jesus or something. There is a mountain of verses affirming Jesus's divinity, and only few verses requiring twisting in order to arrive at the other conclusion. People trusting flawed human logic over God's Word. Itching ears want to hear certain things sometimes. God bless.
Other Scriptures have been given on this thread, but I would emphasize only a few:
John 17:5 - Jesus had God's Glory even before the worlds were created.
Matthew 1:23 - Jesus' Name, Emmanuel, is "God with us".
Colossians 1:15-17 - Jesus is God's Image; Jesus created all things; Jesus was before all things & He holds all things together.
John 10:30 - Jesus' claimed equality with God, for this very reason the Jews wanted to stone Him.
Just a few very compelling verses to show beyond doubt that this Jesus was not a mere created being for the world's salvation. He was the Essence of God (the Word of God made flesh) Who was declared as God coming in the flesh ( John 1:1-14).
We would have to discount Jesus' former Glory in Heaven, His Name as, "God now with mankind", His creative & sustaining Work, and His Own claim of equality with the Father, to believe that Jesus was anything less than wholly Divine in Heaven & on Earth.
It may be difficult for our fickle human minds to comprehend such concepts & Truths, but our weaknesses should not prohibit us from believing God's Word & the necessity for God Himself to pay to secure our salvation (this is His love demonstrated) - no other sacrifice would do - not even a special created human being or a specially prepared animal. If the people of His day understood it & the apostles & early Church believed it, then where & how did we go wrong by rejecting His Deity?
Dear Heavenly Father, Take Mishael's sister and help her in this illness that is causing her organs to fail. Cause her to ask Mishael about salvation. Give Mishael the best words to share with her. Guide him through this situation with his sister. Also, please intervene and help both this sister and sister in law be delivered from abusing opioids. Take away the addiction and begin to heal their bodies and redeem them. They are in desperate need and only You can fulfill their greatest needs and every other need in between what they need the most in You and their smallest needs. Father, there is no one like You, no one. And thankfully, You are so good and great in power to deliver and save anyone! We entrust these two women into Your loving will int he name of Your Son, Jesus, Amen.
God is a God of numbers. In Matthew and Mark, God was speaking to the Jews about the end time.
Matthew 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) Mark 13:14 But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains: I agree with you about Jeremiah. I also put in bold letters key words, Jeremiah 25:11 And this whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years. Jeremiah 25:12 And it shall come to pass, when seventy years are accomplished, that I will punish the king of Babylon, and that nation, saith the LORD, for their iniquity, and the land of the Chaldeans, and will make it PERPETUAL desolations. Jeremiah 29:10 For thus saith the LORD, That after seventy years be accomplished at Babylon I will visit you, and perform my good word toward you, in causing you to return to this place. Daniel 9:24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in EVERLASTING righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to ANOINT THE MOST HOLY. I agree with you about Daniel 9:24 speaks about Jesus. It may very well be a double applications. The next verse 25 is saying the going forth to restore and to build Jerusalem seven weeks=49 years, and threescore and two weeks=434 years. Then v26 talks about the flood as in Rev 12:15-16 Rev 11:2; 13:5 talks about 42 months that equates to 3.5 years within the 70th week=7 years in v27 (49+434+7=490). The saints are no longer exist here as stated in 1 Thessalonians 5:9. 2 Thessalonians 2:2-3. Acts 20:28; Ephesians 6:18; 1 Thessalonians 2:19. BeComforted.
I see the exception of fornication as talking of breaking an engagement BEFORE CONSUMMATION in marriage since its use earlier in the passage talking about Joseph thinking of divorcing Mary during the espousal period.
There are some complexities with other scriptures; although in Romans and Corinthians it seems pretty clear that ONLY if a spouse dies is a woman innocent to remarry and of course a man in reverse situation as well. Even if we think the exception clause means adultery; those who KNOW they have remarried for any other reason and hence did wrong have to get out of it like any other sin. That is against what is "politically correct" in many circles but with any other sin we know we commit we must stop doing it not just say we made a mistake and expect God to honor it. I can't see that abandonment or abuse allows for remarriage; or even divorce other than for the other committing adultery. Corinthians says to remain separate or resolve differences. We certainly are not free to trade in for a younger model; or any other excuse for divorce. Yes abuse means a separation perhaps a permanent one is NECESSARY. We are to be at peace whenever possible; and there are kids to consider.
The best thing I can ask; being through a divorce myself (because of adultery) is to look with discerning eyes on those who are remarried to see where they are spiritually. And look to yourself as well. I could have involved myself in a relationship; the Lord stopped me. Any vow or covenant made between God and men must be kept as God keeps His end when we vow till death do us part He holds us accountable.
Agape.
And this is based on Matthew 19:5,6: "For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder."
Any marriage, whether amongst believers or not, brings about an indissoluble union, as the two become one. If a divorce has to take place, then they have to remain separated. If they remarry, then they would remain accountable to God for their decisions. It seems the only times that a lawful remarriage can take place are when one spouse dies ( 1 Corinthians 7:39), or because of fornication committed ( Matthew 5:31,32). However, this 'fornication' seems to be based on Deuteronomy 24:1, where "uncleanness is found in her", i.e. it is supposed that the man has found that his wife was not pure, whether occurring in her single state or in the betrothal period, or even after marriage. Some have raised arguments about this understanding; and some take this infidelity by the woman to happen only within the marriage, so giving grounds for divorce. Unfortunately, there's no indication what happens when the husband has been unfaithful. In any case, the general understanding is that divorce is a severing of a holy union, and if it must happen, then remaining unmarried thereafter ensures that no sin is committed.
Here's the connection I found.
Benedict of Nursia OSB was a Christian saint venerated in the Catholic Church, the Eastern Orthodox Church, the Oriental Orthodox Churches, the Anglican Communion and Old Catholic Churches. He is a patron saint of Europe. Wikipedia.
The sin nature is within the embryo & within the newborn baby. But that sin nature hasn't yet been tested by the forces that will come upon the child. The child remains pure, yet disadvantaged by inheriting this nature that will give it a propensity to sin one day. Once a child does wrong & then is at an age of understanding the wrongdoing (whether learned from parents or that inner sense of conviction), the child can be said to be a sinner. Even though a new-born baby gives all the cues of fresh new life growing into adulthood, the fact remains that the sin nature within unfortunately gives the guarantee that the process of dying has already commenced. A very sad thing to state for sure, but that is the consequence of having the sin nature & then of committing sin ( Romans 5:12). We are not responsible for receiving the sin nature - we are responsible for the sin we commit as a result of it.
The product of our sinful nature & of sin will result in death, but thanks be to God for the Gift of His Son Jesus Christ & the promise of forgiveness & eternal life through Him ( Romans 6:23) - that our spirits can be renewed & received by Him, because of trusting in Jesus, our Salvation.
1Th 5:23 KJV And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

sickness sorrow suffering or death of this world. We will know each other in an incorrupt sense, isn't that a fantastic
thing to look forward to absolute perfection we cannot comprehend that with our minds.
My sister said she is dying. Organs failing. I'm fighting back. She's too young; has too many reasons to live. She and my sister-in-law are both lifelong opioid abusers. I told her God will forgive her and restore the years the cankerworm ate up, but she never came over to THE WORD side of belief. Maybe she's just tired? I told her that if she will repent, stop self-medicating, her body can start healing.
She's been a good Baptist all of her life. She knows I walked the wild side 35yrs. Saw Jesus for 10 seconds and fell deeply deeply in love. Even more as I ate of His Word hand over fist for 36 years, and counting.
I've been praying for her. You pray for me please. I'm going to call her and lead her to accept the Lord of the Bible. She's always thought being Baptist was enough. This really hurts. I will not let her go into the night without her Light. Just pray she says, yes.
