  • FIVE FOLD MINISTRY OF JESUS - In Reply - 3 years ago
Describe what you remember. Is is about business, Christianity or a Buddhist teaching?

The Bible teaches about the 5 fold ministry about the purposes of ministers/ministry in the Church of Jesus Christ: Apostles, Prophets, Teachers, Pastors, Evangelists. Called by the Holy Spirit and equipped and anointed for the tasks. In this modern day, the office of apostle is done through missionaries who move to regions all around the earth, and do what Jesus did: call those in the community to help build the church (not in lumber and nails),

At first to "build the church" within the hearts of the people. The church is not in a huge church in Rome or other places like that. Jesus built his church WITHIN people/men/women. The Bible shows us that after Jesus ascended to Heaven; the Disciples were made Apostles. They were anointed to build Jesus's Church into a whole new group of Disciples. Through them, Jesus calls people to FOLLOW HIM, and become a disciple; a student in the Bible Teachings.

Jesus spent considerable time teaching about God, Christian ministry, and building his church in the hearts/minds of his followers. The Bible is the Word. Jesus's Name is, the Word of God. He is the 2nd person of the Godhead ( Romans 1). His name at birth is Immanuel (God With Us), on earth.

His Disciples went forth teaching Jesus to communities; building into them His Teachings. In time they were sent into the world to build the Church.

In our world now, we see there are many who call themselves Apostles on tv. Possibly false. Be aware.

Missionaries go out into all of the world, where GOD has sent them, and they lay the foundation of the Church into their disciples. This world is becoming more against Christ (antichrist spirit) and it can be hazardous.

Even if a church is built in secret, the purposes are the same. Teach Jesus, build new Churches locally.

Google your question, and I hope you come back here.

    Love, in Christ

Wow , thank you , you have given me a lot to think about and I really enjoyed your post , thank you again . I am definately a bit sensitive if I think some one is leaning a bit towards astrology but of course the Bible does use the sun and moon metaphorically . I think the first time is in Genesis with Joseph's dream of the sun and moon and twelve stars , if I remember , Jacob interprets them to mean Joseph's mother , he himself Jacob and Joseph's brethren . Interesting to note that the european union chose twelve stars as the symbol on its flag and more than once we hear of the stars falling , just a thought . God also promises that the sun and moon will not be needed in His Kingdom . Thank you again for your post , you can be sure I shan't take it lightly and I will read your references and give thought to all you have said , much appreciated , much love in Christ .

That sounds like an excuse to establish biblical support for homosexuality. Jesus did not speak of abortion or same-sex marriage either. But Jesus did reveal God's creation & plan for all humanity and this He did in Matthew 19:4-6: "And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder."

The understanding was clear to the Pharisees who wanted to test Jesus on the matter of divorce. And it should be clear to us also that God's creation of mankind was male & female & that at the appropriate time they would leave home & begin a new family (a male husband & female wife) with children following. And this union was so special that they would be regarded as 'one flesh' (separate in body, but united together in love, commitment, purpose, & spirit, that no one should pull apart). It was never in creation, that those of the same sex should join together as was intended for man & woman. If such folk are inclined towards each other, they should know that such a pursuit only leads to sin which is then compounded. Rather, they must turn away, suffer loneliness, seek after God's help & healing, just as a sinner with a lust for theft, adultery or substance abuse must also do. Our sinful needs or desires don't alter God's righteous Plan for us & doesn't cause Him to overlook our sins.

The Bible clearly says its wrong in a number of places. The Bible is God's Word and it's in writing, so there's no question about what God thinks about it. Is the person's goal to follow God or the world? You can't do both.

The spoken thing by Jesus is just a tactic to zero in on someone uttered precise words and if not then [insert false assumption]. I don't think many people genuinely fall for those tactics. Surely somewhere is a person's heart they know they are lying to themselves.

Someone could use that same tactic to fake-justify almost any sin they desire. "Jesus didn't say anything about the internet, therefore it's ok that I ____ online." or "God the Father didn't say the exact words of ___, therefore, it must be ok that I _____".

You don't need to be a scholar to lovingly share the truth and refute a lie. Just flip to those parts in the Bible about homosexuality. If you search that word you will find lists of verses about it. God bless.

You've been given the truth in scriptures. I turned 71 a few days ago. Life is long. We live well beyond the mistakes and the memories of sins we committed, right in Gods face. HE IS LOVE. He's not a mean looking, disapproving, old crusty, buzz kill on what people are experimenting with now.

He looks away, until you come to the end of those days in your life. He gives us time to repent and be disgusted with what that lifestyle offered. People say they love you today; but they walk out of our lives in the end. Years pass, and the memory of them just makes you angry, or you grieve__for years.

Life is always in motion. Moving rapidly towards my age, and beyond. The memories of sin, always stings; hurts.

Gods has/had plans for us. Plans for good things, pleasant memories. This world is advancing rapidly to the end of it. We see it on tv and in media, with our own eyes. Choose Jesus's Way now.

You may lose some friends; but you will gain so much more. "WAY" is one of His names. The WAY-the Truth-the LIFE. He gives you all you will ever need if you will trust Him?

The Bible has a verse somewhere about us returning to our own vomit, to eat of it again. Sounds really gross to me. We do that (I did), until we figure out it's unpleasant and gross. No one and no thing is with doing that for

Jesus offers us blessings, peace, and recreates our life if we ASK Him to. Our hearts know the right way to go. Will we choose that? I'm not going to give 30 scriptures of condemnation. Most of us know when we are skating on the edge of disaster.

If you pursue God with all of your strength, you will arrive at forgiveness__and all of the Love your heart ever dreamed of finding. Stay on course & don't allow Satan opportunities to destroy your life. He hates us.

Jesus does love you. Take His hand and don't look backwards. He is Alive. Ask Him into the throne room of your heart. Worship him.

No Martha, the Holy Spirit and the Spirit of Christ are one & self-same Spirit. We understand this because of the Deity of the Spirit (i.e. the Holy Spirit is a vital Person within the Godhead, or Trinity), & by the procession of the Spirit (i.e. the Spirit proceeding from both the Father & the Son, without any change or division in God's Nature).

    a. the Spirit's Deity.

Proven by His Names (Equality: 1 Corinthians 6:11; Doing the Work of God: Romans 8:15; John 14:16).

    Proven by His Characteristics (All-knowing: 1 Corinthians 2:10,11; Everywhere: Psalm 139:7; All-powerful: Genesis 1:2; Truth: 1 John 5:6; Holiness: Luke 11:13; Life: Romans 8:2; Wisdom: Isaiah 40:13).

Proven by His Works (In creation: Genesis 1:2; Inspiration: 2 Peter 1:21; Begetting Christ: Luke 1:35; Convincing men: John 16:8; Regenerating: John 3:5,6; Comforting: John 14:16; Interceding: Romans 8:26,27; Sanctifying: 2 Thessalonians 2:13).

Proven by His equality with the Father & Son ( Acts 5:3,4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14).

    b. the Spirit's Procession.

Proceeded from the Father ( John 15:26).

Proceeded from the Son ( Galatians 4:6; Romans 8:9; John 16:7).

So, I hope you can see that the Holy Spirit, whether spoken of God or of Jesus, is the same Spirit, for He is one with the Father & the Son. Then when we come to 1 Corinthians 12:13, "For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit", again the one & same Holy Spirit is seen here, but we now see His special work where His coming into our lives, affects our spirits and baptizes us (brings us into union) with the whole family of God (into one Body, i.e. of Christ).

Read the story of Samson and Delilah in Book of Judges. He committed suicide and took all those who had hurt him, with him.

It's not an option to life that hurts us. We are always To Pray. Give your life to God, fully. Then see what God does with your life. Through the good and the bad times. God is trustworthy. It took our efforts to be in a place of wanting to just give up. That's when we shove God aside, and "do it our way." Look at how Samsons results happened. I think he's mentioned in Hebrews 11. Let's all go search that.

Blessings on you. Peace and be still. Allow God to write the end of your story.

    Deuteronomy 11

    16 Take heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and ye turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them;

17 And then the LORD'S wrath be kindled against you, and he shut up the heaven, that there be no rain, and that the land yield not her fruit; and lest ye perish quickly from off the good land which the LORD giveth you.

18 Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes.

19 And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thoand when thou risest up.

20 And thou shalt write them up

21 That your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, in the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers to give them, as the days of heaven upon the earth.

    22 For if ye shall diligently keep all these commandments which I command you, to do them, to love the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, and to cleave unto him;

23 Then will the LORD drive out all these nations from before you, and ye shall possess greater nations and mightier than yourselves.

24 Every place whereon the soles of your feet shall tread shall be yours: from the wilderness and Lebanon, from the river, the river Euphrates, even unto the uttermost sea shall your coast be.

25 There shall no man be able to stand before you: for the LORD your God shall lay the fear of you and the dread of you upon all the land that ye shall tread upon, as he hath said unto you.

    26 Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse;

27 A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you this day:

28 And a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the LORD your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known.

Yes brother, I did re-read Luke 7:29,30; & apologies for the delayed reply (I didn't receive an email alert). But what I did read in that passage was that the people, including the publicans, believed John's coming & baptizing work from God. However, the Pharisees & Lawyers rejected it, therefore refused to be baptized. So was it God's Counsel (or, Will) that the application of John's baptism to the people be the same as Jesus' baptism?

As stated earlier, I believe that John's baptism of the penitent was very different to Jesus' baptism by John. The first, was for sinners to visibly indicate their spiritual need & in some way acknowledging that John (i.e. his calling & work) was a prelude/an announcer to another One coming Who would come to usher in the Kingdom & perform another type of baptism ( Matthew 3:1-3,11). Even John was perplexed as to why Jesus would come to him to be baptized since, of all people, Jesus definitely did not fit the reason for his baptism.

Since that part is clear to me (i.e. of the different baptisms of the people & Jesus), one could be better served to discuss what Jesus meant when He said, "Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness (v15)". Yes, baptism was a command, but was it the same command given for the people & Jesus alike, or was Jesus' need to be baptized prompted by a totally different 'command', motive, & resulting fall-out? I realize that the answers we give to this question can only be from our personal understanding/Spirit's leading, since no verse gives specific detail on it.

And to add another thought: what if some people gathered around John refused, or despised, his baptism, but later on came to realize their sinful condition when seeing the Life of Jesus & His Works & hearing His Words - would they be rejected now because they refused John's baptism? I guess, another moot question.

Mankind is not a weak and imperfect people but plainly ungodly incapable of doing any good and inclined to all evil. Anyone trying to do good in order of obtaining salvation will never be justified, Roman's 4 : 2,3,4. Verse 5 tells us to believe in Him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. God doesn't save the godly but the ungodly. Praise the Lord who saves only people without works. AMEN

2Th 2:5 (KJV) Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?

Paul tacitly charges them, and rebukes them gently for it; and as a faithful monitor, stirs up their pure minds by way of remembrance, and reminds them of former truths delivered to them: they were confused by false Apostles

2Th 2:4 (KJV) Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

this verse nails it home as to who is being spoken of (Satan)

    2Th 2:3 (KJV) Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

let no man or woman deceive you, that day shall not come (the day of Christ) except there come a falling away from the true faith, which has been happening slowly but seems to have ramped up today, with all this false theology, dispensationalism being at the top of the list in the destruction of American Christianity..

so the falling away is first then, that man of sin, the son of perdition is revealed

the man of sin and the son of perdition are speaking of the same.... Satan

here's the reference for the man of sin... Isaiah 14:16... start around verse 12 and read to verse 23 to get the context..

and the reference for the son of perdition... John 17:12

2Th 2:2 (KJV) That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

Paul says not to be shaken or troubled, in spirit nor word (new bible versions) or letter, there were false letter going around in Pauls day, that the day of Christ is at hand, the day of Christ is not at hand, Christ is not coming any minute, some things have to happen first...

    2 Thess 2:9

Euen him whose comming is after the working of Satan, with all power and signes, and lying wonders,"

this is another example where people have replaced Christ with Antichrist, and the only way to make it work is by this invention of a man indwelt by Satan called "the Antichrist" but this chapter is about Christ and Satan the word Antichrist is not mentioned, if you want to say that Satan is "The Antichrist" then that makes sense.

The "whose comming " in verse 9 is the Lord Jesus coming, the king James bible is honest when words are added to the bible, and in this case "Even him" is added in verse 9, read verses 8 and 9 together without the "even him" and its clear.

2Th 2:8 (KJV) And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

2Th 2:9 (KJV) Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

his coming, (Christ's coming) whose coming (Christ's coming) it doesn't make sense to say "the Antichrist" (Satan) is coming after the working of Satan...

so the Lords coming is after the working of Satan, now you know why they have to invent a man "The Antichrist" to hide this simple truth

Dispensationalist love this verse, but does it mean what the think it means? Rightly Dividing simply means to be accurate and correct in what you are giving out or teaching from the scriptures.

2Ti 2:15 (KJV) Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

    Bible definition for Rightly

Ge 27:36 (KJV) And he said, Is not he rightly named Jacob? for he hath supplanted me these two times: he took away my birthright; and, behold, now he hath taken away my blessing. And he said, Hast thou not reserved a blessing for me?

Lu 20:21 (KJV) And they asked him, saying, Master, we know that thou sayest and teachest rightly, neither acceptest thou the person of any, but teachest the way of God truly:

The bible definition for rightly is: Accurately; correctly

The bible definition for dividing is: to give out

1Co 12:7-11 (KJV) But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.

Now lets get the context of what 2 Timothy is saying

2Ti 2:2 (KJV) And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.

2Ti 2:14 (KJV) Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers.

And then; I think you get the picture here, dispensationalist have hi-jacked this term "Rightly dividing" and given it another meaning

2Ti 2:15 (KJV) Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

    Sister Suze:

You are very knowledgeable in the scriptures, and you didn't get there by not understanding that a great deal of scriptures are symbolised or signified.

Revelation 1:1 .....and SIGNIFIED IT ......

Revelation 12:i And there appeared a great wonder in heaven .....

Is heaven the physical, OR, signified? the word says it's signified.

The woman also is signified, being Christ's church, or his bride.

The wonder IN HEAVEN is a woman, the church, the bride of Christ, YOU ARE HEAVEN, the abode of GOD and Christ at his right hand.

Revelation 12:1 And there appeared a great wonder IN SUZE; SUZE clothed with the SUN (the Father abiding in SUZE, and the MOON (Christ, the faithful witness IN HEAVEN) under SUZE'S feet, and upon SUZE'S head a crown of twelve stars (an innumerable company of angels, ministering spirits).

Psalms 84:11 The LORD God is a SUN (signified) and shield: the LORD (the sun) will give GRACE and GLORY: no good thing will he (the sun) withhold from them (SUZE) that walk uprightly.

Psalms 121:6 The SUN (the Father) shall not smite thee by day, nor the MOON (Christ, the faithful witness in heaven) by night.

Psalms 89:35 Once have I (the Father) sworn by my holiness that I will not lie unto David.

Psalms 89:36 HIS SEED (CHRIST'S SEED)(SUZE the SEED) shall endure forever, and his (Christ's) throne as the SUN (the Father) before me (Christ).

Psalms 89:37 It (Christ's throne, SUZE the throne, set in heaven) shall be established forever as the MOON (Christ), as my faithful witness IN HEAVEN (IN SUZE).

Revelation 1:5 And from Jesus Christ, who is MY FAITHFUL WITNESS ......in HEAVEN, in SUZE, this mystery .....CHRIST IN YOU ......

    God Bless you.
